Bibou is one of my favorite restaurants of all time. I have dined at many Michelin star restaurants and other highly rated restaurants and had the pleasure of dining at the Bibou recently. I hope to come back every year. It is an amazing experience with such a personal and delightful atmosphere. The food is top notch.

Came here because we heard it was one of the best BYOBs in Philly. Bibou definitely didn’t disappoint. There were several highlights. The lobster and foie gras were really good. The soufflé to end the meal was amazing as well. I’m not sure I’ve ever had a great meal and said the dessert was my favorite but this time it just may be. The chef came over and chatted with us as well which was a nice touch. All in it was about $300 for meal/tax/tip for 2 people but completely worth it. Definitely check out Bibou!

First of all, amazing chef. Thank you for greeting us at the end of our dinner. A former Le Bec Fin chef and his team delivered an amazing experience. 5 stars for the experience, 4 star for the food, and 3.5 stars for the price. I am a cook myself but I will not critique on the food as I cannot make the dishes myself without further training. But we enjoyed the fish the most! The menu changes every week but the foie gras is a staple and the souffle changes every 3 or 4 weeks. Thank you for the experience.

This was the most special meal Ive had in a long time. My dining partner was not sure of some of the items on the menu and ended up enjoying many things for the first time, including oysters, foie gras, boar, and eel. Im a big fan of french food but this was just different. Truly intimate, thoughtful service, personal touches, every dish was a winner and some were absolute show stoppers. . . it was genuinely stunning. The souffle at the end was THE BEST Ive EVER had. The company was top notch too so I dont want to oversell, but on a scale of 1 to 10, this was a 9.8+.

This restaurant is certainly one of the best places in the area. All of the food is the highest level of excellent, and Pierre and Charlotte also helped me put together a gift basket of grocery items as a Holiday gift for my father. The smile on his face as he opened the merguez and the pate en croute is a memory I will remember forever! This restaurant is managed at a very high standard of service. You can never go wrong with Bibou! Warmly recommended.

We had a fantastic dinner at Bibou, a small French restaurant in the Bella Vista section of South Philly. Intimate (seats about 20) French place in South Philly. Fixed price, fixed menu. VERY good service, BYOB but these guys know how to handle your wines.OK, I am not the best with French food but I know what I like and I liked the food here.Seared foie gras, tile fish, NY strip, fennel soup (not in that order). All very well presented and delicious.Bottom line: We would be back if we still lived here. My brother, the wine connoisseur, HAS been back, multiple times.Oh, yeah, one more thing: they only take cash, so hit the ATM beforehand. Also right next to a municipal parking lot. For folks from LA like us, very good food and convenient self-parking-- I was in heaven.

Cosy and refined.I believe the 7 course tasting menu changes regularly so I can only speak to the one I was served. It was truly delicious and everything was cooked to perfection. Only the oyster with smoked jelly and caviar carried me off the beaten paths in terms of originality but everything else was perfectly cooked, balanced and refined, my personal favorites being the soup, grouper and sweetbreads dishes. Very high quality ingredients.Sadly the creativity of the dishes and execution are not there. If a chef is only offering a tasting menu the dishes should be inspired, followed by well thought out execution. The courses lacked depth of thought in where the diners pallet is taken. Also execution of texture was sloppy for a tasting menu.Although in the last course I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed the well executed soufle. But please ignore any mysticism around this place. For a tasting menu and a $115 per guest rate. This place does not hold a candle to a pinnaple & Pearls or an Arroz.(Tasting menus similar in price)Sadly an uninspired expience in comparison.

This is the most over-rated restaurant I have ever been to...We had heard rave reviews of this place. I went here with two colleagues of mine, we had a reservation at 9. It was weekday and we had booked 3 weeks in advance, but still could not get a table before 9.We reached there at 8:50 and were asked to wait outside for 15 minutes. When we knocked the door again at 9:05, we were told to wait for another 15 minutes. It was finally at 9:40 that we were allowed to enter the restaurant. It was a small room bustling with customers leaving very little space for moving. The atmosphere was suffocating. Although am not a fan of french food, but neither do I despise it. But the food here is far below average and definitely does not corresponds to the rosy reviews which we had read before. The only good thing about this place is that the chef personally shake hands with every customer, as if trying to compensate for the limitations this place has to offer.I wonder how Zagat gave it a 29! I could have ate a far satisfying meal at a cosier place and at more convenient timings, at half the rate. Not at all recommended.

Its hard to find parking in the area, but I managed to finally find a spot in the parking lot next door after circling around for 15 min.1. Consomme~Pretty good.2. Foie gras with grilled apricot~Pretty good. Foie gras was tasty, although I was hoping itd be smoother and more buttery.3. Sea bass~Delicious. Easily the best course of the night. Bass was cooked perfectly, and the broth was quite good. Side veggies were decent.4. Frozen souffle~Okay. More like frozen ice cream (cant remember the dessert Im thinking of).5. Macaroons and cookies~Mediocre. A bit too sweet, and I only had a bite of each.Service was good, although it was odd when the server came back and told me there was only 1 bass left and asked me to switch to another fish. Luckily, another server came by and said that I could have the bass.

Such a small place but a lot of customers! This place offers everything you would want to be on a menu and food was very good. The place is pretty costy but you get the BYO so that was pretty nice. Food was really good except that it would have been even better if the escargot was made with a butter base instead of a brown sauce and peas. The filet mignon was good and as well as the veal. The banana takin was too sweet but the caramel ice cream was good. Only con was that the server has a terrible accent and when recommending the specialties of the day, he was hesitating and sighing in between which made me felt a little discomfort. Overall, this place was good and the chef even came out to speak to certain tables which was welcoming.

French excellence in Philly. They channel Paul Bocuse and take you on a enchanting journey to french perfection. Mon Dieu. The BYOB makes this place the greatest deal, parking next door & paradise inside. It feels like a bistro with friendly service but delivers like Le Bec-Fin. After an exquisite meal you are warmly greeted by the maestro, Chef Pierre Calmels, veteran of Daniel & Le Bec-Fin himself. Merci Beaucoup were my words to the Chef.
