I brought my car in after the dealer and my former mechanic for motor mounts. That was definitely not the problem after they inspected the engine. Found out the last mechanic didnt tighten bolts on work he did. Thank God Universal are honest. They are true professionals.

If I could rate Universal Auto Repair a 10 stars, I would. I had a warranty on my vehicle which I called several shops in the Philadelphia area, none of which would service my vehicle. The company will have my vehicle and pay up front for the services that need to be done. I called Universal Auto Repair and spoke with Lilah. She was super nice and well understanding my issue. My BMW 535i x drive has been repaired incorrectly. My axle boots are leaking grease all over the place. I NOW have to go to BMW to have this replaced correctly. I will never return to this shop. I don’t have car that I have time or money to throw down the drain. I expected good Quality service. I have contacted the Better business bureau to get my $700 back for a job that was incorrectly.

My husband and I gave Universal Auto a try for the first time about three years ago after reading some great Yelp reviews. We had been searching for a new place and we were unhappy with the last two shops we tried. Well, Universal Auto did not disappoint! Every experience with Universal has impressed us. We both feel that they are honest about what work needs to be done and what can wait, they never try to upsell you, and their prices for the work done are reasonable. We’ve used them for three different vehicles over the past few years. Work done includes inspections and oil changes and tire rotations, brake pads, electrical repair for a head lamp that kept blowing out on an older used truck of ours and a new brake line when that blew on the truck. All repairs have held up. They stand by their work and have no problem walking through what they did and explaining or showing you. Again, I feel they are very honest people.I highly recommend using this auto shop if you are in the area. They are doing a great job running their business. I have recommended this auto repair shop to family and friends because I know they will be treated fairly and honestly, man or woman, young or old.

I got a second opinion from Universal Auto. I needed 3 things done and it was about a third of the price, saving me about $1,300.

Hacky and sloppy job overall. Ruined the paint job. Drivers window doesnt work like it did before they touched it...Brought it in for an emergency wiper issue..wipers started malfunctioning not too long after and had to pay other shop to actually fix it.

To be honest I went here cause friends love them. They are not dishonest, but for me was a waste of money and over priced!! Also no common sense! I took my car for inspection and while they failed the car for a repair that was more than the value of the car, they still proceeded to test emissions and waste my money doing that. Why would someone want to test emissrons on a car that failed inspection and clearly wasnt worth repairing. I took the car to another shop that charged nothing to tell me the same thing you did, but quoted a repair cost $600 lower than your price! No thanks, my first experience and I,wont be back. I gave you 2 stars for being honest but lost 3 stars for no common sense, wasting my money, and being over priced.

Universal auto have been working on my 2 cars for years now. Everytime I need work done to either car, they take great care of it and fast. You can tell they love what they do. This place is great. Receptionist is very polite and easy to talk to. My car needed work on the front and I never knew work was needed in the back because a previous garage didn’t inform me. They got both issues fixed in a well timely manner and at a reasonable price too. Definitely will be back to get my car worked on again.

The engine on my 09 Toyota Corolla died in 2017 due to neglect. I looked for another vehicle, but the cost of a quality used car is as expensive as a new vehicle. I decided that a replacement engine was more practical for me at the time and found Universal Auto Repair listed in the BBB directory. My past dealings with some auto repair shops were difficult and expensive, so I was skeptical. Its been 6-months since the engine replacement and Im extremely happy with the work, expediency of the repair, and the service I received from Lilah (4give if misspelled) and her crew. The 1st oil change and inspection went well. Oct 3rd, my wife smelled antifreeze coming from the engine of her 2000 Toyota4runner. I called Universal and asked if she brings the vehicle in by mid-day, will they diagnose the problem? It was diagnosed, with an estimate and repaired by 5:00 the same day. Universal Auto Repairs staff are the standard-bearers for excellent work and customer service. Thank you, you have a delighted customer.
