I visit this market sometimes, and buy some of necessary stuff there. However this is the second time, as they are selling expired good, which may harm or cause a problem. Some of the good dont have an expiration date even (where I believe by the law it should be). US Food control does skip this market, otherwise there should not be that kind of issue.I hope the cashier and owner be a little more kind. Be just attentive to expiration date, and dont buy if it is expired. BE CAREFUL.

It has all the middle eastern ingredients and halal meat.

I always enjoy going to Betein Market. The store is well organized and clean for a small city like Peoria you can always find what you are looking for. The staff are always so friendly. The only negative or room for improvement Betein Market could do is, add fresh chicken/ meat at a lower cost and get away from the frozen meat.

Overpriced items. Rude staff. They wont even talk properly, when you ask question. (especially, the elderly person). However, the most troubling was the `Anti-American` sentiment. When asked about the store hours (during Christmas time), the staff person said, We dont close for the American holidays. Will never go again.

Lot of stuff to buy from. Especially, fresh bread!

We normally get our meat delivered from Chicago, but because of a delay in delivery I decided to buy from this mart. The meat looked dark red, so I asked the sales clerk if it was fresh. He assured me that they do their own slaughter and it was completely fresh. I had no reason to believe that for few dollars some one would lie. I bought the meat and the very next day it turned complete black. Wont be buying from them again. Surprised how they are doing business in such a small community.

As for halal meat Alwan and sons not far from this place sells halal meat so dont feel compelled to go to this place . It seems its prohibited to say Hello or Thank you at this store!
