While wondering around the town of Pasadena, I needed a quick pick me up. I saw this coffee shop and decided to stop in for some coffee.The service was quick. The staff was friendly. The coffee was a little too sweet for me, but thats not the Batistas fault. I should have ordered something with less sugar.All in all, this is a great coffee shop. Stop on by for a quick bite to eat or a beverage.

Good coffee and nice environment. Not burnt like Starbucks and you do not take home the stink on your clothes. Really no complaints except for that one staff member who lays on the attitude heavy. It’s okay though honey – that tip jar won’t grow unless you earn it with better customer service. Other than that, I keep coming back for the taste

Nice spot with a great coffee and tea selection. Decent pastry selection but nothing else in the line of food so come here if you just want coffee/tea and maybe a light bite. Staff friendly and interior has interesting decor. Also seats outside but undercover. Music a little loud at times which I think works against the vibe a bit.

Great cappuccino here. The location is amazing, but its almost always full. I depend on this place as a delicious place to sip a cappuccino, not a place to study for the afternoon. The ambiance is nice & the service is always friendly!

Coffee was definitely on point, and fresh... That being said, it is pretty expensive, even by Pasadenas standards.. So as good as it is and as nice as the employers were, I just dont think the value outweighed the cost..

Looking for a cup in Old Town, try Intelligentsia, nice smooth coffee.

Great place to have a good coffee and sweets. Its an urban style lots of space to sit, relax, and use your laptop. But, its a bit pricey. Overall good experience. The donuts are delicious one is pistachio and the other is cholochate moose. I recommend the cholocate moose.

Kinda wish their their menu was larger... especially on the selection of coffees... but a great atmosphere, decent price, and definitely not starbucks! Best coffee place Ive found in old town Pasadena

Matcha Lattés tea leaves are potent and adds a nice touch to the beverage. Definitely visit this place when you are touring the area.

I had a mocha - super good coffee and a croissant nothing special. Would go back for the coffee.

I decided to stop here while passing through Pasadena. I ordered one of their speciality brews; however, another customer accidentally took my coffee instead. When the baristas found out, they apologized and offered me samples of other specialty brews as I waited for my original order. It wasnt a big problem, but it was nice to see how dedicated they were to provide their guests with a great experience.The coffee was perfect, it didnt need any additions--the gesha blend was fruity, fresh, and a pleasant difference to the normal nuttiness of other coffees. If Im ever in the area again, Ill be sure to visit.

Great hang out place!! Loved their cappuccino and affogato however their ice mocha was more like chocolate milk, rather than a mocha. This is a great place to catch up n enjoy your coffee!

Went here because it was a friends favorite place. I thought it was fine. Nothing special. I like the coffee we have at home better, tbh.

I decided to try this place for the first time this morning and I must say I was disappointed. Their selection of coffees is minimal, but the biggest surprise was the size of the coffee. I paid $4.75 for a small cup of coffee. Way overpriced. They did, however give me my coffee very fast, but never asked me if I wanted cream and sugar. The coffee is not bad, but It is not worth the price in my opinion.

Quick Review:Got a cold brew that was really tasty. Strong, balanced, and crisp. The ambiance is as hipster as any other coffee joint. Its casual, its friendly, and quality feeling.That said, it is a coffee shop. No sudden rushes of new emotions will happen here. Its nice coffee. Its not Starbucks, if thats a plus for you. Its reasonably priced by Starbucks pricing standards.

Probably the best place for coffee and tea in all of Pasadena. Everyone is nice and there is a real sense of community among the patrons and staff.

Look, I dont want to be pretentious. But this place changed my life 6 years ago. Before, I was all about the Starbucks Frappuccino life. And then I accidentally ordered a latte here and drank it to save face... And I have never looked back. I was in the area again and stopped to confirm and yes, that is a damn good cup of coffee.

Tried this place for the first time. Ordered a latte hoping to get a flavorful drink. In all honesty, it did not live up to my expectations. I could taste more milk than coffee. Not worth the $5 ($5.50 with tip) I paid for this drink at all! Service was fast and friendly, but my coffee drink fell well short of my expectations. I will probably try them again, this time get a plain coffee to see how I like the taste and if it is comparable to the bold, flavorful coffee from my favorite, Peets Coffee!

This is a great little find. When you are looking for an early morning coffee fix this is definitely a great place to stop by and enjoy. You will find that the lines are not too long depending on the time of day of course, but Im usually in and out pretty quick.

Upon my first arrival in this place I had heard of a liquid that made one mentally sharper and more clever. I ordered coffee and received a brown substance that was boiling hot. I took my first sip and the world became a sharper. My senses were heightened and I was made more aware. I became truly intelligent.

Very casual and friendly ambience. Coffee making looks like they are in a chemistry lab, when you look at baristas making coffee. Strong, flavorful coffee with right amount of mix. Friendly and knowledgeable staff is a plus.The line out the door is deceiving. It goes by pretty quickly and you could people watch as all walks of life go through here for their coffee/tea.They also have a good pastry/snack selection. If you are a coffee aficionado, then you at least have to stop by for a drink.Lots of space and seating for work or lounging. The only problem is the parking in old Town.

These guys never fail to make a perfect cup of coffee.You know how they do it? They meticulously train all their baristas. I know this because I come here frequently to work and I see the training happen.I have never seen a more detailed oriented bunch of people in my life. Everything is measured to the gram or the degree.Atmosphere here is great as well. I always seem to get a lot of work done when I park in here for 2 hours.

Great coffees to choose from. They also offer a great cold brew. Rewards program pays off, too. Also, a great place to focus and get work done if you feel like getting out of the house.

Love it!As a family, every weekend we like to try out different coffee shops in the LA area. We’ve been to Intelligentsia coffee shops in Venice and in Pasadena. And oh, in Chicago too! The almond milk cafe lattes were very strong for me and I always resorted to asking for extra steamed almond milk to add to the coffee. Then one day it occurred to me to ask for half shot latte and it was perfect! Love it!

This is a REAL coffee house! If you like your coffee prepared the REAL way coffee should be prepared, you have got to check this place out! Not only is the coffee always fresh, but the atmosphere is always positive and it has this really welcoming feel. 10/10!

One time, on a trip from Sacramento down to San Diego, I stopped here because I had heard of the awesome things Intelligentsia was doing in Pasadena. I was NOT misled. This shop is fantastic, from the quality of coffee to the vibe and decor of the space. On this particular trip, as my phone was dying, I asked a staff member if there was an outlet to plug my phone in to which she kindly replied, Here at Intelligentsia, we dont do outlets...we do coffee. Rather well said if you ask me. You are not electricians, you are masters of the roast and grind. Keep it up and keep up your sassy attitude. Well done and Bravo in Pasadena.

Cute coffee shop! Service was nothing to write home about but Ive found thats usually the case with independent coffee shops. Its adequate and youll get your beverage made right, so I guess I cant complain too much! Restrooms were in a weird spot and a bit hard to find but they were plentiful which was great. Drinks were absolutely delicious and the food looked great too (about to go to lunch so I didnt try any). Definitely will return!

I love their honey badger espresso and the service has always been top notch. They didnt have my coffee in today so I cant give 5 stars, but they did make a suggestion to accommodate me. From a customer service perspective I appreciate an attempt to solve the problem way more than a flat no. 5 stars on that front.For the record, their suggestion wasnt half bad. I still prefer the honey badger, but Ill be heading back when this bag runs low.

Best tasting coffee ANYWHERE! I get a latte and I never need to add sweetener because its just SO flavorful and naturally sweet that its perfect just the way it is. Not many options for variety. Most beverages are based solely on their coffee. They dont do a little of a lot, they do a lot with a little. The atmosphere is beautiful! However, there are no outlets. But get your Joe, work or relax for an hour (or so) and then be on your way. You come for the flavor and quality of the coffee, not for the co-work space.Not much diversity in options.So much deliciousness in every sip.Higher standards. Less broad.

The coffee was good. I had a latte and my wife had a brewed coffee. They were both delicious. Its nice that it also offers alcoholic drinks. The options are pretty straightforward that includes pastries, water and other drinks aside from the coffee. The prices are reasonable and not more than any other coffee shop. There is ample seating, although I wish it would be in a more comfortable setting. The wooden seats are a bit uncomfortable. Also, wished they had a bit more outside seating, although I understand that it is in Old Town and space is limited. Will definitely go back again.

Order took forever and it wasnt anything overly complicated, seating areas were dirty if there was any seating to be found ( lots of people camped out with laptops) and the service wasnt ...warm. Coffee quality is great! Overall feels like a trendy spot may appeal to lots of people but I just wanted coffee.

I really like Intelligentsia espresso drinks and coffee alike. I love that they serve Mr Holmes baked goods as well!! I have to say though, I picked up a green tea latte for a friend today that was $7.25. That just seems a bit ridiculous to me.

The coffee is great, the service is not really very good. It has a very hipster vibe. Which is good is you are a hipster, but if you are not, it is a bit awkward. They play fun music, but it is a bit loud for some people. I personally enjoyed it. It was energizing :)

Pretty good coffee with a good selection of different coffees. They offer a good selection of coffee beans and and coffee making accessories. Descent amount of seating and is adequately lit.

Best matcha in LA. It’s pretty expensive but it’s always a treat when I can come. It’s a nice place to get work done too.

Intelligentsia is one of my favourite coffee brands and shops. Hipsters doing the best coffee in LA and thats for sure. Intelligentsia is a brand already, but they are doing good coffee and their crew is friendly.

The place looks nice, but it is not a good place to work. There chairs are uncomfortable and it is a bit dark. The beverages are okay. I tried the iced coffee and even though it was a bit strong it was fine. The tables are very small and you could probably squash if you have more people who want to seat next to you.

I really like Intelligentsia coffee, but I dont like the line here when it gets busy. They pretty much work down the line one by one, and youll wait a while if someone is ordering more than one drink for themselves. If youre interested in just the beans, I would suggest just picking them up and brewing at home if youve got the right equipment. I highly recommend the Aeropress to brew at home which they also sell here!

Cool local coffee house with big space inside for large groups and a couple of seats facing Colorado Blvd. There is usually a long line during the early morning and the closer you get to launch hour. The selection of pastries is good and the drink options is great too. Definitely a good place to bring friends out when out in Old Pasadena!

A small tiny shop with the most friendly gentleman at the counter. I order the matcha soft serve and it was matcha gold! So good! Smooth, creamy and full of matcha flavor. Was not icy nor did it melt too fast.Will definitely try to return when Im in the area.

Wow! The coffee reminds me of the flavor i experienced of the freshly brewed cups during my days in central America. So organic, so flavour full. No sweetener, just coffee my laptop and a conversation...best bliss Ive experienced in Pasadena.

My only complaint was that they only had 12 oz serving sizes - because I wanted more! Super cute coffee shop - I saw plenty of folks with laptops, and the matcha there was very tasty. The staff was friendly and accomodating, and the decor was modern and pretty.

I liked their matcha latte, surprisingly good. But the wifi speed was poor that you couldnt rely on it to do your work.

Im really picky about my coffee and id say the coffee is good. Although i had a coffee latte. It was really good. Big mug and stylish. The place and the vibe are great and its certainly a hipster coffee shop. If you like different and new places, it certainly worth a visit. And yeah, its not that cheap.

Was among my favoured roasters in Los Angeles, a must go to. Now, go for the high end tea insted of coffee. A light, sour roast, acidic cup-‐-not my thing!

Love this spot starting from the decor. Love the industrial dark look in here with the metal piping and the church pew seating with the wood stool bars. Love the fact that they serve coffee and beer. Really its whatever floats your boat. Could come here for a bite or even just to get work done. They have pastries that are brought in by a local bakery and Intelligentsia coffee is pretty damn good, too. And Im not going to lie - Ive thought about snagging one of their beakers cause I love that beaker water pitcher idea (obviously I havent done it - dont start with the judgement finger pointing and rolling eyes).

Nice trendy little coffee shop in Pasadena. Ambience is lovely and its a cool little place to get some work done away from work or home, or even just to chill. Their drinks are excellent quality—Intelligentsia may have ruined chai lattes for me everywhere else because I have yet to find anywhere thats been able to top such a full bodied chai flavor in LA. Their pastries are great as well. They have some uncommon flavor combinations for their danishes and croissants, but as far as Ive had, its all been fantastic.

Intelligentsia has incredible coffee and espresso--we all know that. The product is top-notch and the baristas are all experts. But I like the Pasadena location in particular for its atmosphere. Its just a cool place to hang out!

High prices for quality, but uninspiring products. Ive bought tea, snacks and coffee here but left wondering, WHATS SO SPECIAL? Its more of an attraction as there is a spice shop next door and the very large WIFI-infused building gives a hipster vibe.
