I called this place ahead of time and they were super friendly. She said come on in! So we did. The lady behind the counter was super friendly and helpful. Then she went on break. We asked to try on a wig because there are signs by the wigs that say you can try on 3 wigs with the purchase of wig cap. The owner says no we dont allow that. Then why leave the signs up? Who is going to buy a $200 wig you cant try on? We left and bought wigs somewhere else.

This was my second visit to Pasadena Beauty Supply. The prices are lower for some items in comparison to some beauty supply stores in the city of Los Angeles. The cashier was friendly and helpful. The owners (a man and a woman) were onsite, and near the entrance as I entered the store. I spoke, but I sensed that they were more riveted on the behavior of a customer looking at earrings. Later I asked the male owner the price on an item. He pointed to a sign (posted very high on a shelf and not at eye level!) and answered briskly. Not friendly, just direct!Overall, the owners are not pleasant, but they arent rude. I believe that they are watchful due to theft (photos of perpetrators are posted throughout the store). They need in-store security to be the eyes. Then they could give their customers more attention and be friendlier.I suggest you know the items that you are looking for before you come to this store. Then they will direct you to it and you can buy it and exit quickly. If not, if you need assistance or have questions about a product, you may be turned off by their abrupt attitude because they are too focused on customers who may look or act suspicious, and not on customer service.

My first time seeing black women working in a beauty supply store. What a breath of fresh air. They are friendly and knowledgeable and trying to sell you only recommending things if you ask AND things that are good for your hair, not just whats on sale. A wide variety of items, everything you need!

Elderly Asian man is rude and condescending. We need more black owned places like this. Sold out of everything I wanted.

Could use more EWG rated SAFE products without unpronounceable chemicals. Hardly any basic chemically clean products in spite of so many being available in the market.

The owners horrible attitude towards customers is going to be the downfall of this business. I came here, I assume after people stole some wigs or something, and he was all in an uproar. I was looking at the wigs and he yelled at me as if I was the person stealing. I had literally just came in. The woman at the register was very apologetic and explained the situation to me. However, after being yelled at because of the owners poor security staff/system I will never return here again. If you are looking for an African American beauty supply store, just keep driving up north Lake to the Food 4 Less, there is a supply store in that shopping center and they are much nicer, the atmosphere is peaceful and they are super helpful.

The lovely little young lady at the counter was so helpful. However, Mr Moon is a little OVER protecting of his establishment at times. Lol

I will never step in this store again. The owner stood a few feet away from me and watched me closely as I was shopping! When I told the cashier I found his behavior offensive, she angrily responded, Well what do you suggest we do? We have people who steal! I was completely baffled. I am African-American. If you dont trust the population you serve, you are in the wrong business. If u have problems with thieves, there is obviously a more discreet and RESPECTFUL ways to monitor the store. I am taking my business elsewhere.

Great source for wigs, including character wigs. As in you can write a sketch based around the wig. Super friendly staff. Lots of oils and raw shea butter!

They do not help you. Everything is blocked off so if you need to look at something you can’t. Also m, they watch you like your going to steal stuff but yet don’t come out from behind the register to ask if you need help.

Owner Mr Moon is rude and sells old products. Nevertheless this actually the best stocked beauty supply in the area that carries black hair care products.Often overcrowded and cluttered too.

Only store in Pasadena that has black workers and can talk about our hair and what products to use I rather go here than two boys or that other lady in altadena whom is very RUDE! MR MOON isnt rude at all and I love talking to the other ladies in there
