The front end of my experience was great! I made an appointment, they made an acceptable offer for my trade in and I was out the door in a new used car in about 4 hours. Very friendly and awesome customer service from the sales and finance team.I got home and noticed a pretty significant oil leak which led to a call to the service department. This is were my experience went downhill fast. Unfortunately, Daniela, pushed back on my service request for immediate help and is very unclear about how to provide top notch customer service. When a customer is stating that there is a significant oil leak and that the car was purchased a week ago, the last thing a customer wants to hear is, we cant make that happen for you....Im sorry we are strictly first come first serve, excuses, excuses, excuses. She was rude during every interaction and seemed very lethargic/not into her job (sadly, I had to leave my car for 3 days and had to continue calling to find out status instead of this information freely coming to me ESPECIALLY when I was originally told 2 days and they failed to call until literally the last hour on a Friday when my car should have been done by 3pm that afternoon).The rest of the service team seemed a little more on the ball except for failing to call me more often with updates. They did provide a vehicle for me to drive during that time (and if Daniela had stated that was an option during my 1st call to set up the appointment, I wouldve been less irritated about the entire situation) and fixed everything free of charge (despite my side panel missing from my rear passenger door which was discovered after finally getting my car home from it being in their shop....Ahmed was on the ball and was awesome about resolving my new problem. Had he handled my service request from start to finish I would be giving 5 star review).Perhaps my expectations are too high but Daniela definitely needs to be removed from her position immediately and replaced with someone that actually understands vehicle repairs, is happy, lively, and can bring their A game with providing excellent customer service.She literally killed my entire experience with CarMax and left me not wanting to tell anyone to check out CarMax as an option because of her childish unprofessionalism.

Needed to sell my deceased fathers inexpensive domestic sedan, and really didnt have the bandwidth to deal with selling to a private party. Although I didnt get quite as much money for the car as I may have selling directly, the ease of transaction at CarMax made it more than worthwhile. Everyone I encountered was friendly, professional and extremely accommodating. The entire process was quite pleasant, and Im glad to have made the choice to use CarMax.

He follows up with you he went above and beyond my expectations and kept it always professional. I wanted to drive off with my new vehicle that same day and he made it happen. We had done our research and were looking for a particular vehicle. While an option was to have vehicles sent to our local CarMax, The inventory here was high enough to choose between 6 vehicles. A quick look at 4 from an exceptional Rep, narrowed down to 2. Test Drive experience was efficient. CarMax financing beat our bank so the deal was done and in 2.5 hours we were in and out. Great branch, friendly and efficient staff, great selection. Highly recommend!

I stopped by without an appointment to get an appraisal on my car. It was an initial 15 minute wait and then a 45 minute wait; which I was able to walk the lot the entire time (cuz the lot is huge! And I was glad to walk because I had been driving many hours). All staff were very friendly and helpful.

This was my first time at buying a car pretty much on my own. Everything went pretty smoothly. I do have s suggestion that when it comes time to talk about documents one needs to prove income, residence that is made more clearly that the documents must come from the entity and not copies on a cell phone or ones printed at home. Now this is only in the case that a customer is not able to have the documents uploaded before hand and if they are unable to secure a curbside delivery. This was very confusing to me and Im sure has been to others. Also have an explanation on your website regarding the number that people call. Let them know its a call center not even in this state and that they will waste valuable time being on hold, and their opportunity to make the curbside delivery. All in all being my first time, it went pretty good and I did drive home with a beautiful car. I have to than Alisha and Darren for their help and apologize for my frustration. Having this car has given me my freedom back.

Had bought a lemon in Northridge ca . Wont say the dealer but it was a bad experience. On the way driving back trough Ventura, Car Max stood out like a beacon of light. I was amazed by their lot and how much selection they had. Wow. And the experience with no hassle with some salesman breathing down your throat. You look at cars you like and they call a person who gives the details and runs the numbers if you want . The whole process was amazing. The car we wanted was for my son . And after the experience I had had with the first car lot this was an amazing experience. I was so comfortable and reassured by Car Max’s car check. It made my mind frame assured I was getting a great deal. I added the extended engine warranty on it. Knowing my sons car was safe. Thank you To the team at Car Max . I had such a terrible taste in my mouth after the first experience. They made me see there was hope in buying a car . And re assurance that our purchase was safe. Found the car I wanted. It was shipped up to the closest Car Max to me the next day. It was ready the day after that. Test drove it. Loved it. Bought it! Everything was easy. Gave me the best offer I had on my trade in. They are super busy so I had to wait to sign all the paperwork. I was the last customer to leave an hour after closing.

My family has bought 3 cars from carmax before, 2 being from this location. I went in to get an offer on my wrangler and was given a very low offer for what it is worth + the demand for them. Carfax, edmunds, cars.com, and car gurus all have my make model and mileage for at least 25k- 38k and I was offered 17k... I was told that they would “be lucky to sell it for 18” when in fact the condition of my car is excellent for the car and it has never been in an accident. I asked why the same jeep in their lot is listed for 30k and mine is only worth 17k?... I understand they need to make some money off of the deal but Ik what this car is worth and I did not appreciate they’re business skills whatsoever, I’m very unhappy with how this happened especially because we have been good customers for years. No more carmax for me lol

Everything was great but I felt a little rushed. The sales person didnt take the time to really show me how to use the cars entertainment computer and suggested I pull over somewhere on the lot and see for myself. I wasnt able to check out the exterior nor interior of the car let alone the engine. It was though they had positioned my car towards the street by the side door and congrats me. The lot was busy and I felt like I had to move. Other than that everything was great.

The appointment was super smooth, very professional, courteous, and respectful. CarMax really has the process down. It took a while...about 2 and 1/2 hours total. But in the end, I left with a check for $35,000 for my 2015 Jaguar F-Type (that matched the online quote I received before I arrived). I am very satisfied!

I visited a regular dealer prior to coming to CarMax. I was not excited by that experience. In fact, I was pretty turned off by any and all dealers. But then my partner recommended CarMax. As an introvert, I fell in love with the process. The prices are set as is, you dont have to talk to anyone until you need to, and nobody haggles you or tries to add on any secret bells and whistles. And! If they dont the car you want, you can ship one in for free from another store within 250 miles. Whaaaat. The gentleman I worked with was super kind, disinterested in my money and more in my happiness with my car, and was funny. Like actually funny, not fake funny. 10/10 would recommend.

Went in to look at a few SUVs found one and we did the deal very fast.Salesperson went thru all the paperwork and what they had done to the car etc. 2 small issues they agreed to fix at a later date.When the car arrived all cleaned up I noticed 2 chips in the windshield drivers side in view and one one was repaired poorly and would have gotten worse over time. They called in the service manager and sales manager and said those are acceptable cracks. Wow really... I thought.Anyway I said new window or give me back my money and they said take your money back. I thought strange they are making $7-10k on the car it was a 48k SUV.They were very nice about the refund but it took a while and we parted ways. The next day I called Nissan and the new window is about 1700.00 due to the electronics in the window and they have to do the install.Glad I passed. Poor management decision making so look these cars over well. Small issues can be big money for you.2 star because they got me a ride home.

Pleasantly Surprised! I have sold many vehicles in the past and always went Private Party to avoid the stereotyped Used Car Crooks. On the advice of a friend, I obtained an online quote from CarMax. The quote was above blue book. I took the car to their Oxnard facility to verify the quote was legitimate. When the price was verified with the car AS IS without doing any detailing, smog test, advertising, dealing with potential buyers or liability, the decision was easy.

I went to their website and filled out the simple questions. I received a offer within 5 minutes of filling out the questions. I was so impressed with the offer for my 2013 Nissan Versa that I scheduled an appointment the next day. I arrived at my appointment time of 3:30pm. The whole process took about 2.5 hours. I walked out of their office 6 pm with a check in hand.I was pleasantly surprised that the offer I received on the website was the same I received on my check. The process was very professional the employees were very friendly we had a great experience. I was so impressed with the CarMax process that when its time to purchase a used vehicle that they will be my first stop!

I bought a car from Carmax a few days ago. They were great. The only thing that bothered me was it took a long time. I was there almost 3 hours. I paid cash for the car so I dont know why it took so long. I kept having to wait for the manager or for paperwork, or Im not sure why. It shouldve only taken 30 minutes to an hour.

Bought a car in march and paid the full price of the maxcare warranty when I bought it. My keyfob remote is now broken/dead even after changing batteries and I physically cannot drive my car because of it and the anti-theft. Carmax won’t even pay for towing and cannot give me any other assistance. Was previously recommending them but now I definitely would not if they won’t even help with something this simple.

I really liked that I found the car I wanted at a CarMax 600 miles away and only had to pay a small shipping charge to get it here, then inspect the car when it arrived and make my purchase. I had never been to a Carmax and I didn’t know what to expect. We had the best car buying experience when we went to test drive a Nissan Leaf. I had scheduled one at a different dealership 2 days before. But 15 minutes before we arrived the guy called to tell me it was sold. I knew there was one at carmax and so we turned around and went there. In the beginning it felt a little slow but after we got started with Glen we had the best experience. No pressure, straight forward pricing and really great service.

Absolutely worst place to purchase a vehicle. I can just imagine how they warranty their vehicles to the public. I would recommend if your looking to purchase a vehicle from carmax oxnard to have it inspected by the actual franchise dealer as from my experience they have unreliable and phony managers to make a claim with in particular MARTIN and STEVE. Myself as a Independent car store I buy several vehicle from their auction every week and seem to have issues with the local Oxnard Carmax. I have seen that their techs are not up to par and just say that their techs say the vehicle is fine. WHAT A JOKE!!! on faulty transmission. Either management is shady or the techs are not up to par. I dont have this issues with other Carmaxs around the area. Its such a shame!! BUYER BEWARE HAVE YOUR VEHICLE FULLY INSPECTED BY A 3RD PARTY YOU WONT REGRET IT THEY DO NOT HONOR WARRANTY CLAIMS

I picked my car online, test drove it the next day, and decided to purchase it. I qualified for financing through Carmax and my bank. Carmax rates were WAY higher so I went with my bank. Because my bank is out of state, I had to wait three days for the check to arrive, giving me time to freak out about this huge purchase 😂Both people I worked with were super responsive and helpful. I got the Carmax coverage, I can’t speak on that yet, but I’ll update if I need to use it.

I wasnt a fan of the person who was texting me...but the phone conversations and the in-store experiences were top notch. For example, there was a ding in the car from when they transported it to me. They had it fixed in 30 minutes. Checkout was easy. The store was clean. Both cars were ready for me to try at the moment I arrived. Very good service in-store. Dont let the person who texts you put you off. Very unfriendly and stiff. But the other people were great!

Unprofessional and dishonest. Did not disclose scratches and dents on car before transfering.I was interested in a car but there were no photos uploaded on wesite.Called phone number, Carmax corporate answered, transfer me to Oxnard location, got hung up twice before talking to anyone.Third times finally connected to a person, was told photos were not ready. Asked if someone on site could take a couple of photos or walk around the car while on the phone with me. They refused.After a few days of waiting patiently,  received a few photo. The photos were in poor quality and angle but I did not see any major damage so I start process of transferring car to my location. Before transfering,  Carmax did a walk around and sent me a report on exterior and interior quality check. Report shows exterior clean, no scratches or dents.Fast forward a few days, Car have arrived at my location. When seeing the car in person, I see multiple scratches on front,driver side door, door handle, small dent on hood. Carmax responded by saying if the scratchers or dents are not deep, they dont consider it scratches. *see photos for how badly the scratchers are on the door and door handle. THIS SHOULDVE BEEN DISCLOSE. I WOULD NOT HAVE TRANSFER THE CAR IF I HAD KNEW THAT. I REPEATEDLY ASKED TO SEE THE CAR BEFORE TRANSFER AND CARMAX OXNARD HIDE IT AND LIED ON THEIR REPORT.I would not recommend dealing with Carmax Oxnard location. Extremely unprofessional and dishonest. I paid $99 transfer fee for a car they said was in mint condition and it ended up having lots of scratches on the car.

We came to carmax and searched through cars with our CarMax rep and she helped us look at all of them and even walked us through the lot. I think from the start the representative should explain the time it will take to sell the car. First person said 45 min, after that I was passed off to a second person that said about 30 min. After that she came back and said the mechanic will need to confirm something and that will be an additional hour to hour and a half. From the get go it should be explained that it will take 3 hours to deal with it. Otherwise it was a good experience.

I found the car I was interested in on-line at my local Car-Max. Went to the local Car-Max and was greeted by a associate and arranged for an assigned associate. John met me at the car and arranged for a solo test drive which went well. Then John worked with me though the sales process where I paid by check for the purchase. From start to finish it took about an hour and a half from showing up to driving away with a clean, shiny replacement for my car that was totaled by a tree falling on the roof. Very pleased with the purchase experience.

After having a horrible experience at another dealership, I went to Carmax in search of a car. From the moment my daughter and I walked in, Julian took care of us. I had scheduled a test drive online and Julian walked us out to the vehicle. He gave us plenty of time to check it out and answered a couple of questions. After the test drive, I let him know we really didnt care for the car. He patiently asked what I was looking for and truly listen to my preferences and budget. My experience with CarMax started out rocky; but after everything was said and done, it ended up being OK and I accomplished what I needed to do- which is sell a vehicle. My dad passed away, and my mom & I needed to sell his truck. I suggested going through CarMax to my mom, instead of dealing with the hassle of trying to sell it Private Party. I attempted to call CarMax to find out what would be needed in order to sell my deceased father’s vehicle. I was unable to get anyone on the phone. Next, I filled out an online inquiry, requesting a call back. A CarMax representative never reached out to me. Over the weekend, my mom, sister & I went to CarMax with the truck. We checked in at the front desk- I do need to mention, the staff was very friendly at the front desk. We were told to wait outside by the vehicle for a CarMax associate, who would be doing the appraisal. We were told it would be about 10-20 minutes for the appraiser to come see us. It ended up being a lot longer than that though- and meanwhile we are waiting outside in a hot parking lot in the sun. The appraisal was completed and we were told an offer would be emailed to us (about an hour). We decided not to wait at the dealership for this, and went off the lot to lunch. The offer was emailed- probably in the hour timeframe we were told- and we thought it was somewhat fair. When we went back to the dealership to complete the sale, the clerk in the business office told us we needed an original Death Certificate (my mom had only brought a copy). We told the clerk that we would come back on Monday with the original form. We also decided to leave the truck on the lot at CarMax, so that there wasn’t a bunch of driving back and forth. The clerk gave us a parking slip and we left it on the dash of the truck, and left the dealership. All-in-all, this process took us from about 12pm until 4:30pm. On Monday, my mom drove back to CarMax with the original Death Certificate (she lives probably 35 minutes away from the dealership). She met with a different associate at the business office, that reviewed the Original Death Certificate that she was told to bring in, and this Clerk (a different clerk from Saturday) added that there is a waiting period of 41 days from the date of death on the Death Certificate before any DMV transactions can take place. NOW WHY ON EARTH WOULD THE SATURDAY CLERK NOT MENTION THIS?!? So my grieving mother made the trip back to the dealership for nothing. On Tuesday after I got off work, I had my husband drive me to CarMax (also a 30 minute drive from my house) to pick up my Dad’s truck so that it wasn’t parked on CarMax’s lot. We waited. Again, I tried to call CarMax to speak to them about the offer on the truck (which is only good for 7 days) and to see if they would honor it, given the circumstances. I could not get anyone on the phone; was on hold for over 30 minutes. I filled out an online inquiry (again) and was finally able to speak to someone. And this salesman confirmed that the appraisal process would need to be done over again! However, he did explain I could complete it online instead of at the dealership. So I completed the appraisal online and the offer came back $700 higher than CarMax’s initial offer. We were happy about that. I was able to make an appointment online to the truck to CarMax that evening. I went with my mom, and we were there for a total of 2.5 hours this time around. We were finally able to sign paperwork, and my mom walked away with a bank check. All-in-all, our experience was was more of a hassle than we thought it would be and we honestly probably would have been better off selling the truck privately. However, what we needed to do was eventually accomplished and the people we dealt with the second (or third?) time around were great and helpful.

Didnt like the out come of results getting a car I thought it was going to be easy no it wasnt wanted more for used cars n acceptance of getting one was not what I thought getting a 2021 yes I expected some challenges but used I thought I was buying a brand new luxury car Expections were not met n left sadden n down.But choices of vehicles were great they have more then ever selections of cars to buy but getting accepted or pre approved for what u want not good for used cars n there mileage I would rather try at a Car Dealers with a.2020 or 2021 with theChances of a win n a Car then there Car Max .Not good probably alot of co signing to get one Excellent Credit 800 or more for there used cars n mileage .I

The Oxnard store did a great job closing the gap following poor communication from the central office online. It would also be helpful to warn buyers that if financing with an external provider is joint, then both parties need to be physically present for title application forms. I probably shouldve thought of that in advance, but our default during the pandemic is to minimize.Overall, the experience was straightforward and pleasant. Youre treated like an adult, not a wallet to be exploited.

So disappointing. I got the run around. I was lied to, and they sold the car that I was getting transfered after waiting 16 days for the car to be repaired. Calling the phone number listed you cant talk to anyone at the dealership you go to a call center where nobody knows what they are talking about. So much misinformation. I would never recommend carmax to anyone.

Great place to buy a car. The staff is extremely kind and very respectful and knowledgeable. They dont push you into anything you cant afford and give good advice on certain cars and what to expect at certain mileage. They fixed my issue I had with my car both cosmetic and mechanical all free of charge, still inside the 90 day warranty.Only thing I didnt like was finding a dirty grimey rag in my middle console left over from a worker when picking up my car.

I had a great experience at Carmax, this was my second vehicle purchase from Carmax. Again the staff was great, friendly, professional and so helpful in every step of the car buying process. My sales consultant, Richard Johnson, Senior sales consultant, was the utmost professional. He located a vehicle for me in Los Angeles, had it shipped to Oxnard, I had my new Nissan Sentra in a couple days, it was worth the wait. 2nd Purchase From CaeMaxMy first purchase was four years ago and I still own the vehicle and it has less than 100,000 miles. My first purchase had a few clutches in it but we worked it out. On both the vehicles I did a lot of research on the cars. The second purchase a 2017 with under 25,000 miles. It is an awesome car. I recommend trying CarMax the new way to purchase a car.
