The staff are extremely unprofessional. No one answered the phone when we tried to call regarding our appointment, we finally reached someone three hours later. The staff seems confused on the tasks they are supposed to perform, and the doctor is average. The office itself is difficult to find. The lady assisting us spent ten minutes of the appointment trying to figure out who referred us after we told her that they were on a reference list from our doctor. The appointment was not timely by any means. There are many better places to get your eyes checked than here.
Appointment was for 1:40pm. Finally met the doctor at 3pm. Staff is ok. Waiting time is absurd. Doctor was amazing, caring, knowledgeable, and quick. Dr. Thomas clarified my problem and even printed a handout so I can better understand. He definitely knows what he is doing.
My review is not about the doctors, but the office itself. It is almost impossible to make an appointment!! I honestly don’t know how they have any patients. First time I tried several times and our doctor had to intervene and get us an appointment, she had a hard time too, but finally got through. Now I need a follow up and cannot get through. I’m trying a different doctor/office just because I can’t seem to get an appointment. Very frustrating!! I have babies, I can’t spend hours waiting on the phone every day. I have never experienced anything like this before. I don’t get it.
Took my son to see Dr. Hered. My son has ADHD and was particularly excitable during our visit but Dr. Hered was extremely patient and knew just what to do to get my son to pause for five seconds so he could look at his eyes.
I would have given 5 stars if it wasn’t for how difficult it was to schedule an appointment. It took me 2 days to get through. I was on hold waiting for over one hour. The call back system where you enter your number to keep your place in line doesn’t work. Bedsides that, Dr Thomas and his staff were great! He helped my eye issues and I’m glad I finally was able to schedule a visit with him.
It’s regarding how impossible it is to reach your office by phone. My son was prescribed a steroid for his eyes and he’s supposed to have a follow up visit. It has been virtually impossible to get though. I have held, for more than an hour on more than one occasion. Today when I finally got through your receptionist was very rude and dismissive and did not care to hear my complaints. Then she told me if I didn’t answer her question regarding my address and contact information she was going to put me back in the queue because I was talking over her. I repeated said to her none of the information had changed since my last visit. Everything was the same. I said that repeatedly but she refused to proceed with making the appointment. She asked to confirm my address and phone number. She rudely placed me back in the queue to wait some more and did not complete my appointment. I still do not have an appointment for my son. This is unacceptable practice. Why is it so hard to get someone to answer the phone at this practice. It just does not make sense. I even tried the option to have someone return my call. The recording said within 30 minutes. The call came an hour and 5 minutes later and I missed it. Again my son still does not have his follow up appointment.
I had my first visit with Dr Kris Humphrey this week and I was very pleased with the cleanliness of the office The office staff were All very nice and very professional They all made me feel at ease Dr Humphrey was very very nice and took her time with me She explained everything I needed to know about my Glaucoma, and Cataracs The testing she had to do went very easy and I felt as if I had been her patient for a very long time I didn’t have to wait to be called back for my appointment the office was rt on time I would definitely refer Dr Humphrey to anyone looking for an eye dr
This complaint is about your phone system which it is almost impossible to reach someone or get a call back. It is a real shame because I liked Dr.. Humphrey and found her very knowledgeable and took her time to check my eyes very thoroughly. I had a problem with the new medicine she gave me and the next day had breathing problems so I tried to call her to no avail and no one call me back soI had to reach to my optometrist to call her and he could not reach either or had a return call so he prescribed a different medication. Hence the decision to cancel the next appointment. Dr. Humphrey is a good new Glaucoma specialist in this area and it is a real shame that your office doesnt give her a chance because of your horrible system and disregard of the patients and referring doctors.
The doctor was fabulous Dr Humphrey very meticulous, detail, went above my expectationsThe medical staff is worst than awful, extremely unprofessional, very tacky, I saw in one visit 5 different medical assistance, only one was fair, the rest was nasty, Even mentioned to the doctor, they think they are working flea market, i only remember one name miguel or something like that, very tacky ALL of THEM, i mean ALL of THEM!! Orlando is the most tourist area in Florida, EVERYONE should be trained in perfecting costumer service top notch costumer service, but here is a flea market nasty staff. The office is gear to kids and there is nothing inviting for kids, not even soothing kids shows.
They simply don’t answer the telephone! Amazing! 10 minutes waiting and nothing !!!! What a disrespectful staff! My son needs his follow up and I can’t schedule it!
I had eye surgery here and the post-surgery care has been almost nonexistent. Ive been calling for almost two weeks without ever once getting a hold of a live person and their automated callback system never calls me back. I left a voicemail on the prescription refill voice mail and have not heard back from anyone there either. I let them know that I was having postoperative issues and something seems not right and still waiting to hear back. Additionally, they overbilled me according to my own insurance company and theyre arguing about that and do not want to give me the full refund of the difference. If I had it all to do over again I would go somewhere else.
I think the staff in this office are wonderful and have always been so nice and helpful. But as I sat in their waiting room with my child, all I kept hearing was the chatter in Spanish of the girls behind the counter, even speaking to each other from across the room to the girl in the front by the door. And although I do know how to speak Spanish, I feel this is so unprofessional. If not for this, I would have given this office 5 stars!
I waited on hold for 20 minutes and followed the prompt for a callback (it states to call back if they dont contact you in 30 minutes). 2 hours later I call back and wait for another 32 minutes to schedule an appointment. I then get grilled by the young lady answering the phone who tells me they wont see my son for an eye exam through my eye insurance...Im well aware of that and thats why I had my health insurance information ready. I schedule the appointment anyways with her telling me it will likely be all out of pocket. Sure thing, Jan. She said she would email me new patient information to complete but it never comes. Ive received 2 emails and texts requesting I confirm the appointment, how can I if I havent completed your required paperwork? Im on hold as I type this to request the information be emailed to me but its been 50 minutes and Im going to be canceling because this is ridiculously unprofessional and theres no way I could trust my son in the care of a doctor or facility that runs an office like this. Bullet dodged.
A few weeks ago I took my 20 month old baby to see Dr. JUSTIN MARSH with whom I had the worst experience of my life. The Dr told me that he will place my son on my legs to check him, he was trying to check my sons eyes but my son just cried and wouldnt let himself go and this Dr named JUSTIN lost his patience and yelled at my son to get off my legs because my son only cried and I could not hear the Dr because of the noise of my son. he is supposed to be a professional Dr and must be trained to handle a situation like you are and not lose his mind with a baby as young as 20 months. This made me feel so bad that the Drs assistant apologized because my tears came down when she saw how the Dr treated my son. on the other hand, and no less IMPORTANT, this man named Dr. could not check my sons sight well because my son would not allow himself to be checked, he only cried, the Dr. only tried with his right eye. his left eye couldnt check it. and immediately in a very IRRESPONSIBLE way AND NOTHING PROFESSIONAL gave me a prescription to put glasses on my son without being sure and being able to harm my sons sight. Dr was so impatient for us to leave the office because of my sons crying that he gave me a random prescription so that we could leave quickly. and finally: the reason for the consultation was for a stye that the Dr did not even determine. I WOULD NEVER RETURN TO THIS PLACE AND NEVER RECOMMEND THIS DR ZERO PROFESSIONAL.
Best doctors, worst receptionist 3 days of continues calling, waiting hours, leave name and phone number, they return my call after hours to just say sorry, it is after hours emergency line. ok I am calling from 11 am why do you return my call after hours. super rude.
The new patient customer service was good. I had an MRI done.Dr. called me after 7:30pm with a blocked number, then called again at 7:40pm. I tried to call back after I listened to the message but bc it was blocked, could not get him. I do not answer blocked calls. He left a message that we would call the next day. Called, No answer for 30 mins. so I went to the office to say that the doctor called me. I was told they will call me back. Nobody called. I called again on Wednesday, after a long wait, customer service said, we will call you back. No call back, called on Thursday and complained that no one was calling me back and my other eye was swelling. I got a call from Dr on Friday morning that I needed to see another Dr. and he would have his nurse call me back when the appointment was made. Also he was blaming me for not answering my phone on Monday and that was his reasoning why I did not hear from him. I had called everyday and nobody called me back. When you try to call the office you are number 26th on line so nobody is answering the phone. You have to pretend you need a first appointment to talk to someone is how I got to talk to someone. It took the doctor from Monday evening when he had the results to Friday morning to talk to me while my eye was hurting. Noboby called on Friday about the new dr. appointment.. On Monday I called again to ask about it. They said new Dr. office did not respond to their 2 fax. I called new Dr. who said that office sent the fax after they were closed on Friday evening, so I had to make my own appointment. People should be treated a lot better than this, expecially with their eyes. Would not wish this on anybody.
We have been going here for quite a few years now and are always happy with the service were receive. We have been to both locations and have had equally good service at both. They have a fairly good setup for handling these trying times. All the employees were wearing masks and all visitors were required to wear them also. They are doing temperature checks and you have to answer the standard questions to get service. Everyone was friendly and professional. They did a thorough eye exam and provided us with a prescription so that we can get it filled somewhere that will take our insurance for the actual glasses.
We are new patient and want to schedule an appointment for my son, talked to this girl on the phone, she kept complaining how my phone doesn’t sound clear and when I ask question, she claim “it doesn’t help when you keep talking over me”! Well I was just trying to ask her to call me back and maybe the sound issue will be better. After keeping me on hold for 30 mins and this is what I get! I do not want to deal with rude receptionist, therefore we will definitely look for another eye physician for my son and will not use this service!
Not sure if it’s due to the Holidays, or if it’s just standard operating for them, but our experience has been extremely difficult. My daughters initial appointment was made a month in advance, the day prior to the appointment we received a call stating the doctor will no longer be available and the appointment had to be rescheduled, stuff happens no biggie, got the appointment reschedule, then again after I’ve already completed the confirmation link I received the morning of, I get a call to reschedule the appointment cause AGAIN the doctor will no longer be a available!! Not much I can do but reschedule the appointment, for the 2nd time . Finally we get in the office the day of the appointment for them to tell us that they rescheduled us in the wrong location, after I confirmed the location with Anthony (the person who called to reschedule) 3 times!! So now again for the 3rd time her appointment had to be rescheduled. EYE PHYSICIANS OF CENTRAL FL have no consideration for their patients! GET IT TOGETHER
So tell me how you wait so long to pick the phone, and up only to get hanged up by front desk workers? I made an appointment prior to 2 months on the phone and when I get there they tell me I don’t have an appointment. You guys need to get respectful front desk workers. And I know covid things. But that still isn’t a exception that you don’t make the appointment and just hear it and never actually put it in the system.
Have been calling for 4 days. No answer and 30 minutes on hold and still on hold. Ridiculous

We met with an amazing young doctor however the staff at front desk and the medical assistance were not friendly at all. They both not only didnt didnt welcome us but they were giving me a nasty look for no reason.The front desk assistance wasnt even wearing a mask although mask wearing was required at the office for everyone.
Very unprofessional establishment. Girls at the front desk gossiping and one even said “Hell” how unprofessional in front of customers. The doctor was super nice and welcoming but the rest of the staff absolutely horrible. While waiting to check out the front desk clerk screams to the other personnel across the room another’s patients name that was seen earlier that day at 9:15am . Ummmm HIPPA? Absolutely distasteful! I will be transferring my children elsewhere. I do not recommend this practice!
This was the worst doctor’s appointment I’ve ever been to. I believe I spent about 2.5 hours at the office for a 6 minute appointment. From the unprofessional staff, to the many people in the lobby durning COVID. If I could give 0 stars I would. I definitely would not recommend this office. Having your whole name screamed out to the entire lobby. HIPPA violation. To having an appointment with the tech and then the doctor with the door wide open. What happened to professionalisms??

I’ve been going to the Metrowest office and seeing Dr. Thomas for over 10 years now. Everything from the office, staff, and Dr’s are top of the line. Staff is super friendly and upfront with all costs so there is never an issue. Dr Thomas is the best around! Honestly the best practice in town top to bottom I highly recommend!
Very poor professionalism, in addition to that the office doesnt even know how much our bill was but billing is the one that dictates that. Ive not been contacted back from billing and also we signed the papers stating that our maximum amount billed would be $350, my total is almost $700 due to testing however he administered eye drop and looked at her eyes. So if that was the additional $350 to make it $700, what was the initial $350 for??? Then how is it that the actual office I visited doesnt even know how much they billed me.
The staff and Dr Thomas were so kind and helpful. The office is very clean and organized. The lady working at the front desk (smperez) was so sweet and helped us get the insurance figured out. Thank you so much!
They make you wait an hour and a half to see a doctor even with their diabolical policy of $50 cancellation fee within 24 hours if you fail to cancel . So you would think this streamline things so you get in Faster. So shouldnt they pay you $50 if they keep you waiting more than half an hour due to their inefficient and inept overbooking? Doctors are nice once you finally see these overbooked docs. Staff is unfriendly and stiff. If you do call to cancel they will offer you no proof of cancellation what so ever, even if you ask to Simply email you a proof of cancellation. So sad.
I had surgery in 2015 and had a permanent contact lens placed in my eye due to severe nearsightedness. At the beginning of this year my vision began to decline rapidly. I had 2 consultations with no assurance from either of the providers that they could successfully correct my vision. The lens in my eye had moved and I had developed a large cataract. Out of frustration I decided to have a 3rd consultation and see a Neuro-ophthalmologist and scheduled an appointment with Dr. Auerbach. After my consultation I had no doubt that Dr. Auerbach was going to fix my eye without hesitation. I meet with the surgery scheduler the next week and within a week my surgery was scheduled. Surgery and recovery went flawless and my vision improved drastically and quickly. I am so VERY grateful for Dr. Auerbach he made a very difficult and scary situation have an absolutely wonderful outcome. I would highly recommend Dr. Auerbach he did amazing work with fixing my vision. So many thanks to Dr Auerbach and his staff.
Very impressed with Juan the tech who did all the testing etc prior to overview with Dr Thomas ! Juan was very knowledgeable with all the different equipment!Did not really connect with this DrThomas !All the other staff were very on point !The minus one star is for Dr Thomas !
Dr. Thomas was 5 stars but the front office is horrible. You cant get them to pick up the phone to make an appointment. Then you leave a voice mail to cancel your appointment they will not reschedule your appointment without paying a $50 fee because they tell you you are lying and you didnt leave a voicemail. It is really sad because I really liked Dr. Thomas but the front office staff are making it impossible to see him. I will be looking for another Dr. Maybe Dr. Thomas will leave for another practice!
The physicians great (Dr. Thomas & Schuster) and staff are fantastic!! They are awesome for treating most eye care needs. However, if youre under a certain age and need lasik, I would not recommend them. I had my eyes done last year and I truly regret it. I suspected after surgery I would probably need some glasses for reading after removing a cataract. What I wasnt expecting is to still need them practically 100% for everything. Im uncertain why that is, but I believe the lenses may not have been the best choice for me. Im now wishing I had sought a 2nd opinion before doing the surgery 😢

Dr. Blumenfeld and his staff are miracle workers! I could not be more pleased with the outcome of my surgery. I no longer have double vision and would recommend him to anyone having vision problems.
Ive only been to the metro west location once and it was enjoyable but now Ive been calling since December 18th 2018 and left a voicemail for another appointment. No call back. I called Monday January 07, 2019 and left a voicemail...again no answer. I am leaving this review in hopes that someone will be professional enough to actually read it and check your voicemail and call me back. This is completely ridiculous, unprofessional, and should be reported to someone to train people how to answer a phone and return calls. If this is not resolved, Ill make sure I seek a better and more qualified office to handle a simple task. Especially since the reviews prior dont seem to differ from mine. Once again....PLEASE CALL BACK IF YOURE GOING TO HAVE A VOICEMAIL SYSTEM
My wife went there to get eye glass prescription, only a tech was doing the exam instead of the ophalmologist, the prescription was missing the a column and we cant do prescription without that. there explanation that her astigmatism that she had all her life is no cured. which is not true, we went to another provider and get the right prescription.when I called them to complaint, they didnt even care.
Naturally have an appointment time they want you to show up 20 minutes early to to sign in and pay you deductible but then dont want to call you back till an hour after your appointment or longer. If you ever have to come here make sure you clear your schedule for the whole day cause you wont be leaving anytime soon.
You have to pay $35 extra to get a prescription (prescription is not covered) ?? Are you kidding me!! They don’t have enough getting the $50 copayment. Never go back to this place plus a really bad customer service from receptionist and technicians or whoever takes the exams. Such a bad experience in general!
Dr. Robert S Gold is amazing! I called him randomly on a Saturday because I could not reach my eye doctor and was in extreme eye pain. He not only saw me twice that weekend but also had his lovely Cornea Soecialist see me and got in touch with my doctor. He truly went to bat for me trying to figure out what was wrong. Turns out I had Acanthamoeba Keratitis and, because of my early diagnosis and early treatment, I am doing much better. He was my hero. Amazing doctor who really, really cares. I am so thankful for his help.

Dr. Thomas came into the office on his day off to treat my eye infection - that type of care is hard to find. My experience with Eye physicians of central Florida was excellent!
Had two appointments here for my premee twin babies and had no issues. The customer service was excellent and the doctor and staff was pretty helpful

Have been waiting with a toddler for 30 minutes for them to just hand me the glasses that were already paid because everybody is on break but there is no mention on this at their door or hours of operations
Im totally scared of coming to the eye doctor, but all the girls were awesome and the doctor was very nice. Im still afraid, but I dont mind coming back.

Dr. R. Hereld is very patient, kind and explains very well the progress and process of the condition. We have been patching the eye (esotropia) to our baby for approximately 7 months judiciously, it has not been an easy task. But the progress has been evident.
