This shop is awesome!!! After owning Volvos for almost 40 years, this is by far the best shop I have found! They are honest and upfront and very fairly priced. My experience with Maitland Importers was excellent. I had to get numerous parts replaced due to a collision with debris, and Ian gave me a very reasonable quote for the work involved, and was very confident of the task. They had an extremely busy month, so it took a little longer to get my car back than usual, but I was more than willing to wait and let them do their job with my car, which they did extremely well. My car came back better than before! I will definitely be going back to Maitland Importers for work on my Mini Cooper S in the future.

I called Maitland Importer with concerns because my MINI was stuttering every time I hit the gas too hard. Ian answered the call & was quick to get me in even though he had a packed schedule - he said he couldnt let me drive around while my car was misfiring. I show up the next day & my car was diagnosed & fixed in a flash. Ian also let me know that I may have an extended warranty on a sensor issue with my mini, he told me to try the mini dealership first bc it could be free - (previously when tried to take it to another place & they wanted 2800 bucks for it)Honest service, great pricing, I cannot wait to take my mini back to Maitland whenever I need a tune up. Took my car here September 16. I was told that I had a water pump leak and a couple oil leaks main one being in my head. They told me it would take 2 weeks. I’ve been calling them every week now and theyre telling me my car is at another shop without informing me and keep telling me my car needs “another 3 days”. I will not be a returning customer it has been a month without them reaching out to me once about the status of my vehicle.

Ian and Phil were fantastic! When I called them they took my car in the next day and had it ready in two days. They did find extra things that needed to be done but they really did need to be done and it saved me a bunch in labor if I did it then as opposed to waiting so I did. My bill was probably 40% of what it would have been if I had gone to the mini dealership and my car is back to like new. Rarely would I ever recommend a mechanic so highly-- thoroughly reputable and very professional.

Having been a long time customer with two MINI Coopers, I had to stop going to Maitland Imports as they destroyed more than one engine and refuse to make good.I have also had them give me totally inaccurate diagnoses of issues, costing addition funds unrelated to the issues at hand.Work on your car will always be pushed of or return late. If you need your MINI serviced do yourself a favor and take it to the dealer it will cost you a little more up front, but at least it will get fixed right.Below is a photo of cylinder one of a brand new motor that Maitland Importers installed, that failed after only 500 miles, this was the second time they repair the motor due to their own negligence

Maitland Importers has the chance to charge me for a brand new transmission. They discovered that I had a cracked Axel that was the likely culprit.This discovery saved me $2k.Volvo dealership would not have told me this.And it would have cost over $6k to replace the Transmission at Volvo.And then I’d have found out that the axel was the problem.Maitland Importers is the first auto shop I have ever been too with integrity.

This is the best place. I take my 2011 Mini Cooper there for everything, even an oil change. They always explain everything to me in detail. They have even drawn me a picture to make sure I understand on more than one occasion. Best price on every service. They are fast and friendly. Cant say enough.

We live in Ft Lauderdale and are so impressed with Ian and his team that we shipped our 2,000 S70 to Maitland for major repair work. The final bill was more than we anticipated but hugely less than what we would pay anywhere else. They found a used engine with very low mileage and transformed our car, in the very best way. They do fantastic work, only what is really needed, and give us the owner choices and option. If they work on your car, you will be happy, full stop. They cant lay hands on your car and heal defective parts, but close, the next best thing.

Ian was extremely informative and knowledgeable about the issue I was having with my Volvo. Made a long drive to see Ian at Maitland Importers. We talked on the phone beforehand and I explained what I wanted to do with my Mini and got his feedback. He wanted to check it out first before doing anything; he did inspect the vehicle, didn’t charge me for the inspection, and completed the work at a more than reasonable cost. I’m an enthusiast, and have worked with a lot of good mechanics, but there is no mechanic I’ve met who, judging on this one trip to the shop at least, is more reasonable or fair than Ian was with me. And my Mini appreciates it!

Weve had all six of our Volvos serviced here for the past 30+ years. We have always had the most professional service imaginable. I dont think you can find anyone more trustworthy and reliable to work on your cars.

First off, I had a fantastic experience with Ian and his professional team at Maitland Importers. If you own a Mini or Volvo, there is no other place you should be taking your vehicle in Orlando. I had an issue with my Minis A/C fluctuating off and on. I actually had a full $80 A/C inspection at another mechanic and they told me that I would have to replace the entire unit for about $1600. The other mechanic took almost two full days to come to this conclusion. I was skeptical, so called Maitland Importers. Within 1 hour, they were able to determine it was a faulty wire, fix it, and it was done within 2 hours. The cost for this fix: $75! These folks have true integrity, understand your specific vehicle needs, and have the expert know-how to get the job done and save you a ton of money. Best of all: their work is guaranteed for 1 year or 12,000 miles. This is the only place I will take my Mini and I recommend you do the same.

I was told by other local mechanics my vehicle could only be fixed by Volvo. They were wrong. Ian and the team was able to diagnose the issue and fix it their selves. It was fast and affordable. Ian and his team has brought back to life my 2009 Mini Cooper R56 JCW hatch. It has been over one and a half years since I was able to drive my Cooper. There where a bunch of issues that were wrong with the car. And I mean a huge grocery long list. It would take to much time and space to list them all. But here is a few things. It had a cylinder 3 misfire along with no compression on it for one of the issues. Ian and his team did a complete head job along with replacing all of the valves and seals. Also there was another issue with my turbo charger not building boost. So Ian ordered me a new Borg Warner JCW Turbo to fix that problem. And I tell you what... This car is running and accelerating like it was a brand new Mini off the showroom floor! Thanks again everyone who worked on my vehicle! You all definently brought smiles back to my face! Dont take your Volvo anywhere else for service. This place sets the standard for what a shop should be. Ian and Alan (as well as the rest) are extraordinarily competent. They are great about calling and keeping you updated about whats going on with your car. On top of all of this, their prices are very fair. I usually service my Volvo, but I take it in every now and then for things I dont want to do. Needless to say, I know my car and its service history very well. From this, I can say that Maitland Importers has never tried to sell me something I dont need, as other shops have tried. This is an honest business that genuinely seems to put you and your cars care above profit.

Sad to write this. They appeared to be very kind upon meeting. I was traveling from Miami to Orlando when my cars check engine light came on and started making weird vibrations, hesitant but my family told me its most likely minor, I took it to Maitland and was told my cars engine needed to be completely removed because of a valve that must have fallen, I had a leak in my oil and radiator and it would be a total of $1,500 to fix. To make it worse- though it was my car, and I initially spoke to them, they completely ignored eye contact with me and spoke to my male friend....sorry but its my car and my credit card swiping. At that moment I decided to tow my car back to Miami to my more trusted dealer who actually told me none of the above was wrong and the fix was simple and about $200. DISHONEST - at least to a couple of young adults who were from out of town.

Great attitude and great work ethics from Ian and his team! Ian from the first phone call I had with him made me realize this is the place to take my Volvo to! They are experts at Volvo and mini cars.So dropped the car for diagnostics and he was clear and honest. Not just pushing for unnecessary repairs but pointed the things that needed attention.Long story short this place is great ian is fantastic John and Alan great guys.Work performed: timing belt ( seals, water pump and all the seals) engine mounts, Axel seal, control arms, ball joints, shock mounts, Sway bar links, alignment and free oil change!I will have an update later on drivability after repairs.Ps : they said I needed coils as well. Replaced all 5 with original Volvo’s Myself ( fairly easy) and haven’t felt any changes tho. More to come on my follow up.

Really appreciated my first visit with Maitland Importers. They changed my Mini Countryman’s oil/air filter and gave me excellent advice on next steps for my car’s maintenance. No pressure and very knowledgeable. Felt like my car was in great hands as this was the first time I’d not taken it to the dealer. I left my wife’s XC60 here on a Tuesday night knowing that I was flying out of town on Wednesday. This meant my wife would be the one dealing with the pickup and all that later. The issue I took it in for was electrical in nature and found the solution in good order! I had them take care of a couple other smaller problems that could have snowballed had they not brought them to my attention...a motor mount and a leak. Ian and all the guys here allayed any fears I would have had. These guys communicated with me the whole time and fixed everything in an extremely efficient manner...not to mention considerably less than the dealer would have charged. I will trust these guys implicitly with my wife’s VOLVO as long as we own them. These guys are the best. Don’t be scared off by the location. They know their stuff. Trust me and more importantly TRUST THEM!

My daughter’s 2009 Mini Cooper was down for over a month it was towed to 2different shops that were quoting me $1000 over what the extended warranty would pay. I called Ian at Maitland Importers on several occasions but his work load was a week out hence the reason we didn’t start with him. He found us an engine with low miles rather than doing a cylinder head job and completed it in the 3 days as promised. I was able to reach him every time I called & he answered all of my questions even before we bought the Mini to him to service. The best part is Mini Is running better than it has ever run before! This is my first time to Maitland Importers and it wont be my last! I went into this mechanic shop on guard, but came out knowing that it is a reputable business where knowledge and customer service is job #1.This shop is not in the best part of town, but the service is worth it for sure.I met with the service manager, Ian, who was especially helpful and gave me some insight on my newly acquired Volvo S40. He told me some things to be aware of, but did not try to upsell me to the point where I would felt like I was at some jiffy lube. I even got a chance to talk to one of the mechanics who was courteous and helpful and happily answered a few of my basic questions.I would definitely recommend Maitland Importers to anyone who wants to keep their Volvo in perfect running condition.Today, August 10th 2020, I went back again for some air conditioning work. Had a clunking sound from the front left of my 2007 Volvo s80. After two different Volvo dealerships couldnt tell me what was wrong with it, I took the vehicle by Maitland Importers. They found the issue and fixed it same day. Ian even kept the vehicle on the lift and showed me what the issue was! 10/10 would recommend to anyone who has a Mini or Volvo!
