Had a minor emergency with my car and these guys took care of me! As unreasonable as my needs were, they took me in with a smile and fixed me up. Frankly it was about as good an experience as car repair can be.

These folks are absolutely the best, EVER! While traveling from WA to St. George, our motorhome needed an oil change and our towed vehicle needed brakes. Flips took us right in, did both jobs in record time and the prices were reasonable for the brakes and wayyyy cheap for the oil change. Nicest people, great communication, terrific service. None better than these fine folks.

Late review! Got my alternator replaced few weeks ago. I called lady was very nice on the phone. Took it in next morning. The guy at the counter was nice. They had a restroom right there. My lil girl had to go soon as we walked in. They got it done that day. Price was fair never changed. They noticed things I over looked about the car. Will definitely go back.

I dropped my car off on Thursday evening for an alignment. There were tons of cars in the lot and I was concerned that they were so busy that they wouldnt get to my car in time, as I was going out of town that Saturday. However, they texted me Friday morning and were already done with my car. When I went to pick it up, Flip took time to go through the alignment chart with me and explained the changes he had made. The improvement in my cars ride was drastic. Everybody I dealt with was helpful and friendly through the entire experience. I will definitely be taking my car here in the future.

They hit the quoted price and came in on a Saturday to fix some unexpected problems so we could get our car back on Monday. Unexpected bonus: they communicated via text rather than phone calls. Maybe everyone does that now, but its so much better than playing phone tag.

We made an appointment for 11AM because we needed our car done that day, just an oil change. We told them we just needed it before tomorrow. They called at closing to tell us they didn’t get to it since we didn’t need it until tomorrow. That’s not what we told them. We told them that wouldn’t work & we needed it tonight and they were able to finish it by 7PM. Won’t be returning though. What’s the point of an appointment if it’s not done the same day?

Not much to say, as I dont have much experience in it myself. I have noticed however, when I start my vehicle, it rings and says I need to change the oil, so I may need to take my vehicle back in and have them quickly fix that. Im sure it is a simple fix.POINTERS/PERKS - N/ANothing that I can really think of at the moment.EMPLOYEES - 5The staff was friendly and pointed out simple issues that were foreseeable, in my case one of the tires I have is starting to cup.

Had my car worked on and I was very impressed with the receptionist Kristen. She answered each of my questions and I felt very comfortable choosing Flips for my repairs.

I brought my truck in for only an alignment and to have them swap the breakline. The break line was a exspensive for such an easy job. Then I was told no go on the alignment. You need new bearings and idler arm. So I take my truck home to do the bearings myself because they wanted almost $600 for the work. I buy the parts pull apart my truck and bam all brand new bearings already in the whole front end. I was warned by people about this shop in the past but that was 10 years ago. I figured they moved up onto ST Street and have a nicer location. So maybe they arent still those normal shop crooks that tell you that your vehicle needs work it really doesnt to make you spend more money then you need. But nope dead wrong. I doubt t they even popped the cap to see the bearings. Because the second I did I knew they wasnt bad. So I gave them the benefit of the doubt and finished pulling it apart because maybe the inner bearing wasnt change when the old owner did the outer bearings. But nope both brand new no issues on both sides. Idler arm yes that needs replaced. Really if you can change breaks you can swap the bearings and idler arm why does a shop need to charge almost $600 for this job. Plus they charge $120 for the part and I got all the parts for $77 and thats not even going for the cheap ones. So 6es they are still the crooks I have always heard about.

I dont know much about cars so getting work done makes me nervous. Never sure if I can fully trust the place. Flip was super easy to talk to and immediately put me at ease. That was HUGE for me and why I will be going back to them next time I need work done.

I have never recommended someone who didnt do something before, but here goes....I had a minor problem with our car and took it to a mechanic who also noticed that my brakes were worn. He recommended replacing the pads. 360.00, which seemed a bit steep for not needing rotor work. I called Discount Tires in Orem for a second opinion. We love their tires btw, been with them for years. Manager said they dont do brakes, but said to go to Flips Car Care. Called them, they offered a MUCH lower price and even shuttled me back to work. Got a text about an hour later from someone that said;Your front brake pads are still over 50%. I would say you are probably good for a year or more. Your rear drums are also good. Do you have any other concerns you want me to check out? Front end is all tight.I told them that I had none and asked what we owe them, their response was, and I quote, nada.I will be bringing lunch down for everyone or something like that soon. This place has my business from now until I no longer own a car. These guys went BEYOND the extra mile. A good mechanic is like a good dentist. You want to see them as rarely as you can. That said, you sure as heck hope they do right by you when you need them. I cant say enough great things about these guys. I dont want to have mechanical problems in the future, but likely I will sooner or later. It sure puts my anxieties at ease to know that when that time comes, I wont have to worry about honesty or great service. Clearly, those things are built into their business model. What more can you ask for?

They did a good job at diagnosing the issue although they did try to add an unnecessary charge to tell us about an issue we already told them we had but they removed it. They had the car for 3 solid days and all that was done was a compression test and a valve cover replacement.

I have gone here 4 times now. Absolute honesty and integrity, and fast. Really could not ask for better.

They were able to take care of me pretty well. They even through in an extra discount for me- on top on a discount I had from discount tire. (I had over 500 in repairs, so it was very appreciated). My only issue is that my car still kinda leans toward the right, but my car was in an accident so Im guessing theres just something else wrong somewhere. They were very friendly and my main issues were fixed so all in all Im happy with the work.

My diesel truck broke down the day before I was to leave on vacation. I called Flips, and they told me to bring it in right away. I got it in at 4pm, and even with having to order a new part, they got me going before noon the next day! Seriously, who does that anymore! I didnt even have an appointment. This left me beyond impressed and gave me the desire to have my cars taken care of at Flips from now on.Fast forward a week, the alternator they installed was having issues. My fault, I tried saving $30 bucks and bought the knock off cheap brand alternator. I show up at their door step again, 30 minutes before close.. Guess who swapped it out for me on the spot? No hassle, no charge, no appointment and they stayed late again! I do not blame the faulty component on them by any means, but I do blame them for having the BEST service around.They got me my car SAME DAY two times, both days I showed up 30 minutes before close. Now that is a good experience in my eyes. They stayed late to make sure I had a running car as soon as possible. They seem nice people, but when you go to a mechanic, you really want to fix your car. My experience with them was not good. In fact, it was horrible and terrible. After paying over $ 1,000.00, my car still the same, with light on in the dashboard and noise when I accelerate it. After leaving the car there for 2 days, Flip told me that he heard the noise but could not figure out what it was. I felt complete frustration! I spent a thousand dollars for nothing! So if you are looking for nice and cool people, Flips can be what you are looking for. But if you are looking for a mechanic to repair your car, I suggest finding another place.

I have never been to a more trustworthy, honest, and intelligent bumper to bumper car care than Flips. Family owned, genuine mom and pop that has solved all of my car problems. They treat my car like its their own.My car wouldnt start one day and I took it in. At first check it looked like the engine needed to be fully replaced. They gave me a fair quote and waited for me to decide what I wanted to do. In the mean time they double checked everything to see what they could do and found it was simply an AC clutch. They called back and updated me when they could have just gone with the full engine replacement and I would have known nothing different but they were honest and helpful and fair.I wouldnt take my car anywhere else.

These guys were great. I went to multiple shops before them insisting something was wrong with my breaks and rear shocks. All places said everything was fine. Flips looked closely and found an inner brake pad was stuck causing a dangerous situation as it was completely out of pad. They also found a loose bolt on my back shocks that would have been dangerous if left a few more days unattended. Great service. Honest people. Im glad someone recommended them to me.

We all hate car problems (especially if youre a poor college student!) but I felt like Flips Car Care was a great choice. They were very prompt in diagnosing. Honest too. I was told that the part they were planning to use on my car was in fact damaged by accident, so they would require more time to get one rushed out. They called as soon as they knew to help me plan myself out. I really appreciated their kind and patient attitude. Everything was explained to me, and I feel like I paid for honest service. No complaints at all. Ill be going back to Flips Car Care for sure.

Overall the work done was good (hopefully). My experience with Flips was just lacking in customer service. I was told that a diagnostic for one of one of my car systems would take an hour. After an hour and 25 minutes I finally got up and asked if they were almost done. The lady at the counter went out and asked and said it would take another 20 minutes. They came out after and said they would need to do another test but I was already going to be a little late for one of my classes now. They said it took longer because one of the employees was working on his Corvette...That kinda rubbed me the wrong way because I feel like a customer should be the priority in that situation not the employee.Next I came back for a smoke test a couple hours later which we agreed to do. They said it would take about 30 minutes. 45 minutes later he came out and said he did a different test that would save me money but there was still a risk there could be small leaks that I may have to come back for.I was not consulted about changing the check that wouldnt be as thorough and that was my main issue. I wish he would have asked me if I wanted to take that risk instead of just coming back and putting the risk of smaller leaks on me. I appreciate trying to offer more economical options but let the customer make that decision. And I had used all the time I had already so I just kinda had to accept it.I think the mechanics know what they are doing but there definitely is room for improvement with making customers a priority and including customers in all the decisions about their car. If I need to go in again because there are leakd I will be very frustrated

Got a quote for an oil leak somewhere else for $800. I took my car to Flips and not only did they fix the leak they replaced my oil pressure switch, spark plugs, ignition coils and two front tires for less than the $800 I was quoted elsewhere. Get a quote here first.

Didnt repair my friends car properly. Had to take it back to them in an overheating condition. Luckily we are close by there. After their second try the car works again. $125 for a thermostat and coolant is quite a bit steep RIGHT after they did a water pump WRONG. I would find a different place to take your car for service and maintenance.

I used Flips during my BYU tenure after electing to buy some kind of card with free or discounted services. I didnt have as good an experience as others seem to have had. Im writing this after moving from Provo 3 years ago, and it seems like many of the problems that Flips fixed then are now having issues again. Today we were told wed need a new catalytic converter because our car is making awful sounds, and Flips replaced it in January 2012. Flips replaced many of our O2 sensors, and those have haunted us regularly. Its possible that these were faulty parts and not Flips fault, but the chances seem slim. We have a Honda Civic which is typically known for its durability, but these Flips-fixed parts seem faulty (say that 10 times fast). I also recall taking the car in for an oil change and it came back with a crack that spanned half the windshield. The mechanic claimed he didnt touch it since he wasnt working in that area, and it was probably a little crack that was exacerbated by the warm garage that he was working in. Again, totally possible, but it just gets less likely with each experience.
