Great place to come and study while grabbing a tasty cup of coffee! Tons of options to choose from and plenty of seating areas. Parking on the street is a bit difficult so I would recommend the public parking areas. Music is always playing so if you are coming here to study I advice you to bring headphones unless you are okay with the music. Aside from that, enjoy a good cup of coffee upon arrival!

A wonderful coffee and tea place! Such a unique concept and they were so helpful with any questions. Every thing look delicious! They have a flight option where you can try 4 different drinks. Such a great coffee shop in old town. One whole wall is books and there is lots of seating with nice natural light from outside. Im not a huge coffee drinker but they also had teas, we got the flight to try out different options :)

Great find just off the orange circle. Way better then the coffee you can get close by. All coffee on tap and great stop on a hot day when your looking for a refreshing drink.I got the Gold Rush which was a Vietnamese style coffee which was just the right amount of sweetness and my son got a juice box which had hibiscus tea blend that he really enjoyed.

Delicious coffee. Really appreciated all the different options, they don’t have just the usual options. Also loved how they don’t load up the iced coffee with ice. Friend and I had the Gold Rush and Foxy Cleopatra and highly recommend!

I was going to give it 4 stars until I picked the coffee. Didn’t expect much from the coffee but it was pretty good. It was a little too sweet to my taste so I was glad she told me, “let me know if it needs any adjustments!” on a really friendly tone. So after trying, I asked for extra ice to try to water it down for a bit. She added milk, which ended up being oat milk. I noticed she was shaking her head. I thought it was due to the flies around or something like an insect flying around. She came back to me and I thought she misheard, so I said I wanted more ice, not milk. She gave me a look and she was frowning saying OMG out loud behind her mask, which I clearly heard. First she said its not milk, then she said its oat milk and to trust her that this is how is supposed to be made and it was going to be better. I don’t like the coffee and milk consistency ratio to change so kindly asked for extra ice. She “shhh” and she trashed the drink out and reused the cup and lid, which had gotten coffee all over. She eventually made it again as requested, just with a dirty cup and lid, leaking everywhere. I just think her attitude was ridiculous, unnecessary, and very rude.Not a good experience at all.

After our long excursion, we will drop some espresso and unwind in this café. I love the state of affairs orchestrated, exceptionally comfortable, freezing and extensive. Both the teams there show true interest and worry for the customers. This is the best spot to learn at work or only for gab. Gracious, I love the spot! Much thanks!

During my stay here, I was searching for a lovely coffee shop that was convenient and close to our home. So I came here and was pleased to find that the environment was welcoming and that the staff members were polite. This was something I noticed on the internet. The place appealed to me because it was quiet. It was a little flavor paradise, a place to unwind. What a wonderful place! I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment.

We had a great visit at Contra. Very laid back and welcoming atmosphere. Interesting drinks. I love the taster-sized drinks you can order in flights. It makes it easy to decide what youll want to order next time - because, lets face it, you WILL be going back!

It’s a great place if you wanna take a break from Starbucks. There’s only one issue which is there are not enough tables to study and do some homework. Absolutely I am coming back here again.

We tried cold brew coffee and it was good. This place is not far from the park nearby to our place. Good location, the whole street was quiet and peaceful. You can order as many as you can for it was not too pricey. I can assure you that their coffee is more satisfying than others. Their baristas are all friendly, you dont need to worry. They have a modern designed shop with a lot of coffee equipment around which is nice to capture, I mean perfect for Instagram. We would love to come back here with friends again!

Great coffee shop with a great atmosphere. Its typically full with people working away on their laptops, but since its a large space, theres usually space for more. With lots of natural light, the space is bright and airy. The coffee in itself is some of the best cold brews you can get. Not only is the coffee great, but you can sample as many as you like until you find one you love. The staff is also extra friendly and super helpful in finding a coffee you love.

I love this place. Not as crowded as another coffee shop I have been to before. This place has it all. All the crews are very accommodating, active, and entertaining. They have a strong wi-fi connection and comfy chairs and couches. The place is so spacious as well as the parking area. They are always my favorite coffee shop in town.

Such a great place but such a small building. It has a great rustic and industrial vibe and every drink here is great, so its easy to see why its so popular. The drinks are so pretty you dont even want to touch them. Every time Ive gone the line is out the door and theres never any seating.

I had a morning coffee here. The coffee was amazing! I had a cold brew, and it didnt disappoint me at all. The sandwiches were great, and I can customize them and satisfied with the results. They also run workshops, and you can even buy their beans to take home. I strongly recommend this place!

Truly my FAVORITE coffee shop at the moment. All drinks are on tap. Their Vietnamese Iced Coffee, and Dirty Horchata are like crack cocaine.Ambiance is so chill, and there’s plenty of books to purchase if you feel like reading.

Contra is THE concept that needs to take flight. I so wish this was local for Mo and me. We had only planned to stop here to grab a drink on the way to the Angels game but it ended up being one of my favorite things from the whole trip! The staff here are so kind and give tips doing a mix of something but the coffee/tea is 5 stars all on its own.

Wow what a good little coffee/tea breakfast cafe! I came here right after a hot yoga class (shout out to all the yogis out there!) and this definitely hit the spot. I ordered the Brunch Bowl, and my friend ordered the Croque Madame.

Some coffee shops only have a few tables while others have tons of space for you to sit. But this coffee shop has comfy tables and seats plus music that could make us feel relax. There were also books for you to read especially if youre into reading while listening to music. You can meet a new circle of friends because the people were so cool.It was a nice experience!

Its very nice inside. The decor is clearly intentional with art and literature well placed and accessible. There is lots of light and open space. It would be perfect to come in and hang out either reading, doing work, or other creative activities. However, there is not one single electrical outlet.Im sure this is on purpose, perhaps to invite people to disconnect and interact more organically. However, this seems to be in direct contradiction with the open and clean ambiance that invites one to come in and spend some time with a book, browsing the web, or catching up on work.Would recommend for a quick drink, but would not recommend as a hangout place.

The mocha here is fantastic! The place is huge and relaxing and the decor is so cute. The staff is kind and the service is quick. Amazing!

This place is close to my work and decided to give it a try and I will tell you I dont regret. Something about this place just makes my coffee so good. Going to tell my coworkers to check this place out hopefully they will love it as much as I do.

Drinks will def be worth it! A good piece of history you can find on their walls. Try the horchata cafe. I like being caught of guard and this place def did it. This cup was about 20-30min old if youre wondering.

Its a fun gimmick when everything at a coffeeshop is on tap, I imagine it makes the drinks pretty consistent. I didnt like my iced coffee on first sip, but it really grew on me. Tried my partners caramel oat milk latte, it was a little much and she didnt seem to like it either. Also kind of funny to be telling people stay woke when serving their drink, which Im just now understanding the double entendre as I write this. Get it? Because coffee?? GET IT???

Im not sure you can get hot coffee here, but the iced stuff is great.I love the wall of books, if youre bored of what youre doing you can grab one and read for a bit. They also support local artists by having their are for sale, which is cool.

Usually prefer specialty coffee, S/O espresso, or pour overs, but wanted to try this spot - definitely a spot to come and work remotely, or study, but if you know good coffee with multiple flavor profiles in it, choose elsewhere. Contra is such a special space. From coffee and tea, a mini book store, to meeting spaces. Contra never fails to meet expectations for taste and ingenuity. They have their regular flavors like horchata coffee (my favorite), but they also come out with new flavors too! The same goes for their teas. The space is always clean, and the staff is always friendly. Highly recommend!

Pretty cool ambiance here! A cafe/bookstore... Quite spacious.Lovebirds (coffee milk tea) was quite good albeit not overly creamy. However, the large costs $5 and only very slightly bigger than the regular. It actually seemed like a regular size at a normal coffee shop. Not to mention they put quite a bit of ice.Considering the not so accessible location and price, I dont see myself going here too often. 7 leaves costs less AND bigger... I get that contra drinks are on tap quality but it the price point doesnt seem worth it to me. Id recommend people to try at least once though. Interesting flavors.

Contra is in such a prime location! Its located on a street behind the Orange circle; parking is a bit rough, but you can often find a spot either in the circle or in one of the public lots. There are a lot of tables to study inside but because it is located next to Chapman University, there are a lot of students who study there! Its also a great place to just chat and meet up with friends..

CONTRA COFFEE and TEA has the best filter coffee in OC! Lets just say my morning isnt the same without it. Highly recommended for coffee lovers.

Contra coffee is close to the Orange Public Library. It has lots of yummy iced coffee and tea flavors on tap. The book store has a nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. The coffee shop has tables where you can enjoy your coffee or study. It is a little off the beaten path. Look for this location its worth it.

Was looking for a unique coffee spot while visiting friends in the area. I was quite surprised and fulfilled with what I came across. Coffee and tea on taps, with the option to mix the two. Some drinks I saw strolling by were quite eye catching and Im sure delicious. Was there when a lot of college students were studying for finals. Which was refreshing as well. The book selection is good too. Classics, popular new books, and a random book you can buy at the register. Its wrapped so you cant see the cover, but has main themes written on the wrapping.Will be back when I visit the area and direct people here who are visiting.

A three minute walk from my boyfriends house. I havent tried their coffee yet but their teas are really good. Juice Box, Princess Peach and their thai tea is super good. I need to try the rest of their menu or whatever they have on tap. I definitely recommend this place.

I really enjoyed the afternoon I spent working in Contra Coffee & Tea last week. I was recommended this place by a friend and had to come by after hearing & reading only good things. I dont normally go in on sweetened coffee/tea beverages (so that presents a challenge in this place) - but I got a sample of the dirty horchata and the peppermint mocha coffees - both delicious!I ended up settling on the espresso style cold brew, though, as it was extremely smooth (and no sugar!). Highly recommend trying it out. Brought a growler to one of my friends, too.Downsides: No sweet coffee options that dont use actual sugar, only 1-2 seats in the whole place with access to power plugs, and the WiFi is pretty weak when there is any decent amount of people in the place. Could probably fix this with a bit more bandwidth, a better router, or both.

Helpful staff, wonderful strawberry green tea, and a whole wall full of books that we could read from! I simply wish there was a tiny bit more seating available, but there were plenty of busy students preparing for their finals, so no worries!
