Just found this place a couple of weeks ago. I made an appointment to get timing belt replaced. Honda wanted $2000, Midas wanted $1,200 and South Bay Automotive charged me $900. I had to wait two weeks for my appointment, but it was well worth the wait. They gave me a ride home while they had my car, which took most of the day. The business seems to be family owned, everyone was super friendly, and they did a great job at a great price. Ive found my new auto shop!

WOW. Just wow. We took a vehicle here but they couldnt replicate the problem we were having. That is fine. A week later we had a different problem with the same vehicle and left a phone message. I got a call back from Frank (who was already combative) and he proceeds to RIP INTO ME and accuse me of being rude and having attitude in my phone message. I was very confused because I thought I left a normal message but I apologized anyway, hoping to get to the problem, but he kept ACCUSING me and RIPPING into me and suggested that he talk to my husband or daughter instead because they are nicer. WHAT!?!? This is how you treat customers?!?!?!? Maybe he was having a bad day, but he just lost business from me and everyone I can tell about this. I dont want to give money to a business that yells at their customers.

My family have been bringing our vehicles to Franks shop since we moved to this area in 2008. Always takes great care of our vehicles and weve not had to return a vehicle after repairs for the same issue or anything new possibly caused by the shop. Not EVER! They do have a a fee for estimation, however Id rather pay for the estimate, knowing Im going to get great service and not a shop whos always looking for a way to make more money. My car was brought in the other day and I was told there was a week wait till he could look at it, however they were actually able to get it in much earlier than that. And Im so grateful they did! And they got back to me ASAP! Thank you Frank @ company! 💚💙

These guys seem fine; I believe the main guy is named Frank. Two years ago, they did fix a problem with my Ford van with no fuss and a reasonable price. The problem is that they NEVER answer their phone since then. I have to leave a message, and then we play phone tag. I will call them back and they NEVER call back after the first time. In two years, Ive only been able to get them on the phone once. So Ive pretty much given up on trying to use them. I wish that they would hire someone to answer the phone or reply to emails or texts.

Just like everyone else has said, Frank is a straight-forward experienced mechanic and business owner. He knows how to find reliable parts and get repairs done the right way for a good cost. Hell calmly explain how he did his work, and what it all means. Love the customer service.

Dont go here. The owner blatantly lashes out at customers over the phone. Dude takes his anger out on us when his short temper arises.

Frank & his team at South Bay Automotive have taken care of my familys cars for 25+ years. They are quick, and honest as the day is long. There have been too many instances to count where Frank could have charged & didnt, or, could easily have charged more than he did. I cannot imagine relying on anyone else for auto maintenance and repairs.

Frank, the owner is HONEST! I dont know him personally but more times than not have been told or he had told a friend of mine that certain work that I or we thought needed to be done was not needed and the repairs were less $ than expected, ALWAYS good news at an Auto repair shop! The owner even assisted me after I left his shop and 2 days later had to drive across country. I called a bit frustrated related to perceived issues and Frank patiently answered my concerns and didnt rush me off the phone! I would go higher than a 5 if it would let me. Thanks Frank!
