Purchasing a vehicle here was a wonderful experience. Getting the oil changed (or rather, not getting it changed?) was a nightmare.I had an appointment set for an oil change, and when I pulled into the shop I saw that there were no other cars being worked on. I sighed in relief that they would get to my car right away, as I had an awful migraine.But sat for a long time (my back now also in pain from the chairs) and right around the time Im thinking this is the longest Ive ever waited for an oil change, someone walks over to me with a piece of paper. It was only a quote for the oil change. They hadnt even started.I sat for longer, and only one other customer came in during that time. They were very attentive to her, but ignored me while I tried to sit politely without ripping out my spine. I also witnessed mechanics walk out several times on their cell phones commenting on how it wasnt a busy day and they had very little to do.Two hours later they called me over to tell me they didnt have the part they needed.Two hours in agonizing pain only to tell me they didnt do the oil change, but didnt bother to tell me they couldnt do it until two hours later.I had an appointment, so they had time to prepare and ensure they had all parts needed before hand. And they waited two hours before they told me they couldnt do the oil change.I didnt want to go through this again, so I asked if this was something that could be completed at any shop (because it would have been faster to drive to Durand and back to do this). The associate rudely said no, then snorted and said well, I guess its your car, so you can do whatever. He then said that he ordered the part and would call me in a few days when it came in. Its a month later, and theyve never called. But they did write on the Carfax report that they did the oil change, even though they did not.Overall, it cost me $160 and two painful hours to NOT get my oil changed. And it looked like they never intend to change my oil, but I dont suppose they plan to compensate me for any damage that does to the car either.
Colin is the best! He made the experience of getting back into another BMW fun and easy. The whole experience I was treated with respect and professionalism. I just can’t say enough great things about Colin and the entire staff in Okemos BMW. You will be treated like royalty. Experience this place yourself and you will understand what I mean. Ask for Colin! And if he’s not there you will be treated great by anyone on that staff. I prefer this BMW dealership over any other one around.

I come here every few months for service on my 530XI station wagon. They treat me pretty well here. And they often have something interesting to look at and test drive. I havent quite found the car Im looking for, but Colin, my go-to guy for info on inventory. Havent found quite the right fit for me, but we keep looking.

The term, BMW client advisor, initially struck me as simply a dressed up way of referring to a salesperson. But I came to realize that Colin took the client advisor role seriously, going out of his way in every way to facilitate my purchase and my accommodation to a new BMW. What stands out most in my mind is Colins enthusiasm for the car itself, the advice and assistance he provided with the trade in of my 26 year old vehicle, the care he took over half a morning in explaining to a novice the detailed basics of operating a computer on wheels, and his follow up messaging to ensure my satisfaction with the vehicle.

My worst experience ever dealing with an auto dealer. Incompetent is a very polite word to describe their service department. I got more out of an oil change than the rotors and brakes they changed on my car. I recently sent in my car they changed coils and pistons and now my car is misfiring. I called them and they told mtmr it has nothing todo with the service they performed and should book another diagnostic appointment o. When i told them that its the same issue they ckaimed to have fixed last week james told me to take my business somewhere else. I would not recommend this dealership if you love your car.

First off, I’d like to point out the fact that I don’t have new BMW money. It is what it is. I came into the shop to grab a part for a friend’s car. From the moment I walked through the door, I was treated like a customer that could afford a house-priced BMW. I told them I couldn’t afford anything new, wasn’t shopping for a car and was just picking up a part. I was expecting a quick dismissal after this, yet I was asked if I wanted breakfast bars, water/coffee, etc. If you’re in the market for a vehicle of this caliber, these people still treat the little guys respectfully and I hope that this fact earns them your business.

They charged my about two thousand dollars to check the engine light, but the service engine soon light came on again the next day. I was so sick and tired of some of them and I didnt want to waste any more of my time and money there. I chose to trust them in the first place and took a chance on them, but sure enough, they let me down. Not their fault, my fault. I shouldnt have trusted them.

Alex Mackoul worked with me when other BMW dealerships didn’t want to waste their time discussing discounts and vehicle configurations. Alex even stayed late to assist with test drives and other questions. Highly recommended.Update: Knocking down two stars since having the vehicle for 3 months has been aggravating. Brand new X5 from the factory and the brakes make a creaking/groaning sound. Every time stopping it groans before coming to a complete stop. Also groans when turning the wheel when at a stop. Had to take it back to service for them to say that’s the way the brakes work and I’ll have to live with it. This is the first year for BMWs new electric braking system? When I test rode one it didn’t do that. So now I’m stuck with a “luxury suv” that sounds like a 1980 Hyundai.

Buyer beware: big problems with this place.I was in 03/20/2021 Saturday, we agreed on a deal. They told me to sign an agreement paper, to secure the ownership of the car I liked! My status, was pending credit approval, which is ‘elite status’ looks very promising according to the sales consultant, Alex - now come Monday, my application all of the sudden is denied. The only details the salesman came up with is, I don’t have enough credit depth! Which is false!Please just say you sold the vehicle to your favorite doctor! Such corrupt place and atmosphere exercising favoritism.

I am a 20 so naturally I am not their ideal demographic . I stood around for about 35 minutes before anyone helped (yes I did ask for help)What disgusted me the most is I over heard someone complaining about the higher then original cost for service. Legally under the automotive repair act you can NOT Charge 10% over original invoice.(Unless agreed upon over the phone or on paper. I also overheard there was no notification for extra service)This dealer participates in illegal practices avoid these guys at all costsUpdate: 3 weeks later no one has reached out to me as they stated. This place does not deserve your money
Total trash technicians and no redeeming customer service. My third attempt at giving them the benefit of the doubt after they failed at putting my engine bay back together leaving sensors and wires unattached and pinched between brackets. Confused and pompous is not a good look. Left my perfectly clean car covered in streaks after simple oil change.
The people working in the back happen to have more respect and professionalism than the ones working in the cubicles. From the BMW service advisors, Chuck will be a waste of your time. Extremely dismissive of your concerns of the work that was done poorly and failure to acknowledge any potential fault. Would recommend finding another dealership that practices good customer service along with being knowledgeable of their services.
We have been loyal customers to this dealership for several years and have bought multiple vehicles from them. I believe it is extremely important to be able to trust your dealership as well as receive excellent service, and this dealership delivers both. Matt Hart and his service team consistently provide trustworthy recommendations and quality service. If there are ongoing questions or concerns as is normal for used vehicles, he has taken our vehicles back until the vehicle is functioning properly. Matt and his team advocate for their customers and take care of them. They go above and beyond to make sure their customers are comfortable and satisfied. We drive about twice as far as we need to (which is about an hour and a half) just to get quality service we can trust from Matt at a dealership that has our back. Thank you so much!

This is the first time I had my car serviced at the new location, sadly its also gonna be my last time. I bought my car from Grand Blanc BMW and the service warranty just expired in May. Dont feel like driving back and fourth from Lansing to Grand Blanc so decided to try Okemos BMW instead. Had break fluid exchange done. Waited for 2 hours and spend almost 200 dollars and the service advisor had to pull a dirty car out herself because the person supposed to do that is on lunch break and the other one is busy picking up costumers. The service advisor was kind enough to take my car to car wash herself. The interior of the car has not been clean at all ( Grand Blanc BMW always wash and clean the interior really well) Finally on my way home. My tire pressure monitor shows 37 psi for each tire. 37!! the factory setting is 32 psi and they pumped the air pressure to 37 psi !! Its a disappointing experience from Okemos BMW. Will go back to Grand Blanc from now on .
I’ve used this dealership a couple of times over the last 3-4 months. My first poor experience was ordering parts for my vehicle that were never ordered by the dealership. I waited until the day I was told they were to arrive, and luckily called before having a friend drive me there to pick them up as they were never ordered.Another time I had someone drive me to the dealership to pick up parts and their website and telephones had the wrong hours posted. I arrived 15 minutes after 2, (closing time that wasn’t posted anywhere) and the people still there in the shop said I’d have to come back on Monday.I scheduled an appointment for a vehicle inspection, with regards to a vibration in the drivetrain. Was told $150 to inspect either the engine mounts, and another $150 to inspect transmission mounts, or $108 for overall vehicle inspection. I chose one inspection of transmission mounts. I was contacted by a phone number via text that never responded to my replies, and called two service advisors who’s phones went straight to voicemail. This is nearly 21 hours after I dropped my vehicle off, leading up to the holiday weekend.Update: The questions I directed to the service advisor through their texting program were ignored, and the unprofessional/sloppy response answered none of my questions.I now read and understand the reviews listed for this dealership.

I have not had positive experiences at this dealership. Beware, they do the bare minimum when inspecting your car. During an inspection that I paid nearly $300 for, they failed to notice that my engine block was only hanging on by two bolts (the other two were completely sheared off and there was a 1/2 gap). Theyve also accidentally charged me twice for the same labor. Overall, I would never come back to this place. They have lost my trust.
I have been a Loyal BMW customer, at Okemos BMW for over 20 yrs. I and I was treated extremely bad, on a planned $3800 repair list, I was going to have done. I wanted it done over a 6 day trip I had planned.that way I wouldn’t mind not having MY BMW.The turnover has been so high at this establishment, I spoke with service mgr about several items I needed repaired. He assigned me a service advisor.They loaned me a vehicle (which was nice), but only because I was going out of town for 6 days and needed a vehicle to get me to the airport.I asked them to start with my transmission, if looked bad, then I wasn’t going to proceed with the $3800 estimate. So I left my 2006 330xi with them on Wednesday 8am.They left it sitting a day, then did the inspection.I looked over the estimate and it was ($3800) total for all work needed.I said go ahead with replacing transmission pan, etc and flushing it out ($1400), Then let me know if they thought I was good, after that, to proceed with the remaining $2400.On my trip, i emailed my service rep, to see the outcome of the work. He responded to me on FRIDAY, saying other customers ( new car customers, not old bmw’s) needed to get fixed first, so they hadn’t done any more than the inspection and a short road test (2 miles) and said they didn’t feel anything OR the noise coming from my passenger side front end (it is very loud). So only the inspection and a 2 mile drive, had been done in 3 days.Then I emailed the service mgr I needed to speak before they went any further.....on Monday(remember, I left it the previous Wednesday) he tells me that the part now won’t be in until TUESDAY.Again, if this can happen to a 20 yr customer, that has spent nearly $20,000 in repairs and upkeep on my two 3 Series BMW’s ( only service dealership I have used), then I will not use them again and will recommend to friends to go to the Ann Arbor or Grand Rapids locations.
Re:I was in a week ago look me up as James and not Jamie. I brought in my 2015 328 xdrive with 60,000 miles and was told the transfer case was making noise and needed to be replace for around a $4000 quote. I declined to get another opinion and took it to an independent shop where they fixed my car issues for $300 as it was time to change burnt fluid not swap the entire transfer case. Either the technicians are not very smart, or they don’t care, or are told to make the service department big money on college kids who bring their cars in for repair. I would be pretty upset if I knew I spent $4000 on something that did not need to be replaced.
I called to ask about replacing my license plate holder on my BMW 328i. I was told that it would be just a couple of bucks. When I get to the dealership, they told me its $50 instead. So I went on the internet and bought it for $7.94. What a mark up at the dealership!
I am comparing with an American car dealership, probably unfair. But these guys are professionals who left a very good impression with personal followup throughout the entire inspection process. A few of the service employees are kind of rude. I changed my mind about having my vehicle fixed here due to the dealship I purchased it from and the service I received after telling them that I was no longer interested in them servicing my car was just not appreciated. I understand they were probably upset and felt like I wasted their time but they still got money from me so yeah

Run away. Go to Grand Rapids, or even Detroit. No one knows what they are doing. And everything is farmed out to local shops for 1/4 the price. I wouldnt let these guys change my oil!
