I stopped to get a sandwich, thinking it would be better than a Pubsub or Subway.I was charged $13.00 for a Turkey sandwich on sour dough bread. The bread was so stale and hard it felt like cardboard. I was so disappointed.Im so sorry I wasted my money. Lesson learned. I cant believe they didnt offer a fresher bread.They had to know it wasnt appropriate to serve. Maybe they will now...
There is not a head of lettuce or a tomato to be found. Its just a sandwich shop. Not a produce stand.

Went in today to buy my brother some orange blossom honey to send to him in Colorado. Got the larger jar that is priced at $13. When I got to the counter the woman could find the price and I told her and offered to get another jar with the price on it. She said no thats fine, then proceeds to charge me a dollar more for it! Wont be going back. I know its only a dollar but you shouldnt charge people more than the price thats marked. And no it wasnt because of taxes, I checked the receipt to make sure. It says open food non-tax.
Its owned by the same people as Ocala Downtown Diner which has fantastic breakfasts. I had a Cuban which was soggy since it sat for a more than a few minutes and just OK. They were ridiculously busy and theres no parking. Its a place where you place your order at the counter and either wait (sometimes outside) or take a seat in their dinning room & your food is brought to you. Very casual and very popular. The day I was there, there was 1 girl at the counter and the poor thing was going crazy with orders, people ordering and then serving as well. This is not a good set up for people who are 1st timers going to a place at all and did I mention the parking...OMG. Of course I had to wait which I understood but I dont think Ill go back since I dont know if they ever got anymore help and thats not fair to not only the customers but to the employees.
Let’s start this off right... Daily lunch special $8 (as of 04/06/2021) comes with sandwich, side, and small fountain drink. This was my first time here and had no clue what they offered. This is one of those “hole-in-the-wall” gems!!! First time you walk in, you feel like an old friend coming home. Staff was absolutely friendly and welcoming. Mary went above and beyond to help me understand what they had to offer and recommended an out of this world Cuban. Hot...fresh...and served in less than 5 minutes!!! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for an amazingly quaint sandwich shop, where you feel like family!!!P.s. they post the daily soup and special on their Facebook page.
Stop putting Mayo on EVERYTHING! I would suggest you quit putting any condiments on your food, and offer single serve packets of mayo, mustard, and catsup, packaged with the food.
Stopped eating here a year ago because the customer service was so bad. I decided to give it another chance today and once again I am treated like an inconvenience for spending my money here, the girl was so cold and unfriendly it was almost shocking. It’s a shame because the food is decent and I love supporting local business. When the customer is more friendly than the employee working, it’s a problem and after reading the reviews this has been an issue for a long time.
Delicious food! Wife had the Ninas dill wrap with a gluten free wrap, i had the Doc Martin sandwich, and my son had a turkey bacon sandwich. All were generously portioned, with fresh, high quality ingredients. They use local ingredients from around Florida. They sell the Barbacubans 455 sauce by the bottle, as well as Popis Greek dressing - both are fabulous on sandwiches. The 455 sauce originated from Ocala. The service was great, the place was clean. Theres a nice outside dining area and inside dining. Good, healthy choices. We will be going back!

I wasn’t sure if my online order went through, tried to call to confirm but no one answered. When I arrived I ended up having to reorder. Staff rang up the wrong item and I was overcharged. She offered to give me chips for the difference, but I was eating healthy. Waited too long considering nothing had to be cooked. Salad was decent, but chicken salad was made from canned chicken. Two of my coworkers commented on the poor smell of my lunch, one stating it smelled “funky” and they other saying “dog food”. I ended up throwing it away. I’m being generous with 3 stars because I they may have just been having an off day. Hopefully this many disappointments wouldn’t normally occur. Just FYI, no staff was wearing masks.

It says share the details of my experience. I will not speak for anyone else but I went here with my girlfriend because we we running out of new places to try. I will keep it short. the customer service and the food were well worth what I paid and that’s the most I can ask for as a consumer. I ordered the Angry Bird sandwich and it sure was spicy but I will be back to get it again. I can’t thank Mandi and Elizabeth enough for making it one of the best dining experiences I have had in a long time.

Food is good, but not a good value. I dont know that their sandwiches are worth $9 to $11, and dont include anything. Your drink, soup or potato chips are all separate. I went today for lunch and got a sandwich to go. Got back to my office and realized that the potato chips were 5 months out of date.
I am not pleased. The business I work for is close to the Deli and that is how I learned of this place. Today i tried ordering online. It didnt appear to have worked so i called to make sure. The woman that answered was not customer service material. You can hear the annoyance in her voice, as i attempted to order over the phone she directed me to another browser. She Hung-up on me!!!! I was not finished. From this experience i will not Order from this location. I spoke to some of my Colleague and they also reported to have the same issue. Please review your staffs performance, because this one is making you lose customers.

Best sandwiches in Ocala. My pregnant wife craves their Angry Bird, so you know it’s good. The turkey club is incredible. Their salads look great if you’re into that sort of thing. This is our go-to for lunch in Ocala, thanks for existing.
I’ve been ordering from here for quite some time now and their food is always excellent. But today they went above and beyond, and her name is Katie, I wanted some pickled garlic because theirs are the best in town but the delivery driver was gone for the day . Katie took it upon herself to go out of her way and offer to deliver it here at my workplace . Katie you are the best !
Recently moved here... happened upon OFPD and Im glad I did. We LOVE their Cuban sandwich and our grandson LOVES the grilled cheese! Dont hesitate to try this local place youll be glad you did.
I had a work day downtown and decided to eat at a local establishment for lunch. I took advantage of the cool weather and sat on the porch. The dill wrap and chicken and dumplings soup were delicious. When the wrap was folded, the wax paper was included. I ended up biting into that. I pulled it out and finished the wrap, but awareness leads to corrections. I would dine there again.

Love this place! The angry bird is one of my favorites. Hot pressed turkey, and spicy jalapeno cheddar cheese. Its got a little zing, but not too spicy. I would have added a photo but ate it too quickly.

Ocala Fresh Produce and Deli has delicious and fresh food! My fiancee and I have eaten here a couple of times and the food is always so tasty. The employees are all super sweet and kind and you dont have to wait that long on the food. They have plenty of choices of lunches, sandwiches or soups, everything we tried here, weve pretty much enjoyed. You can choose from three places there where you want to eat at: in the cute little shop with tables, bar seating in front of the window, or the outside patio.
Had the double-meat Mushroom & Swiss, while wife ordered Cuban. Both were delicious, and yes, crushed ice for soft drinks was awesome. But, it was a bit pricier than the $ on the menu led us to believe. Should have been $$.Well be back when were in the area. But, next time Ill be more prepared.
Ordered lunch and it took TWO HOURS to get delivered after placing our order at 10:20 am to give enough time to be delivered for lunch break. The food shows up at 12:17pm when lunch break is over. Told them we wanted our money back because it was to late to be able to sit down and each the salad (which was all warm from sitting for 2 hours). Was told we would get our full money back they took my salad back and said we would get refunded back our money. Now another 3 hours have passed and the delivery driver brings me a 20% off code for my next order tells me I will not get my money back and that the owner took the money out of his paycheck as well. So not only do you have my salad, my money but his as well? Never a phone call from a manager apologizing for anything. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! I will NOT use your 20% off code as I refuse to give you my business ever again!Update: since I can’t reply to your comment. When your driver showed up he NEVER told me I would get a free salad as a refund AND a 20% code. He told me you refuse to give any refund to us. And yes we did try to call many times but your phone message says you do not except phone messages. Yes I did not want my food because it was warm and nasty. And he never admitted to us that he was running late at the time of delivery. Any other Friday or other days that we have ordered from you we have never had this problem.

My first time today, I loved it!!! I have never had a hot roast beef sandwich before. Truthfully we were so busy at work i didnt realize we ordered it hot... lol wow i am in love it was like a nice grilled cheese w tomato and onions. Oh boy! I can literally eat another one for dinner.
We stopped in during a busy time and you could tell the girls were rushing but even still they were all courteous and polite. The food was delicious. We ordered an International and a Cuban, and both were great. Definitely will be stopping by again!
I order from here once a week! The food is fresh, one of a kind, and so good! Best wraps in town too! Orders are made so fast and we love that we can also order right online and pick it up with in minutes! I highly recommend this deli.

The food was hot and fresh. I like the atmosphere. We eat in and we found out that they have a produce section where you can purchase tomatoes,onions etc. It was quiet and the staff was friendly
The purpose of this type of critique is to help the recipient improve and ensure that the same mistake will not happen again. Think of it as imparting a lesson. The manager coaching is aggressive which makes the employees atmosphere negative, as a personal manager we are supposed to make the environment of our employee great for them to aspire to do every task at its best not down grade them or mistreat them. As a manager we have bosses and if the bosses allow and applaud this action of the manager then unfortunately all the heads need to take some courses to take in order to be better person and for there business to run right. A bit of respect goes far way just a little inside to take in .
If I could give zero I would. I placed an order for lunch for 3 coworkers of mine. I get a email 17 minutes after the order was placed saying my order was cancelled. But because I work in a medical office I didn’t see the email until my lunch was half over. When I called to find out my they cancelled my order they said they are too busy to take on more orders and I can call back after the lunch rush if I want to order. They billed my card and now I have to wait 5 days for a refund. Always had problems with this place but the food is good so I gave them another chance. NEVER AGAIN!!!!

I make it a point to stop here often. Great place to meet friends and business associates for a cool drink or a great meal. They make some unusual sandwiches that are healthy, hearty and so delicious.
They have the best sandwiches and are always willing to work with me if I want to change something up. You can tell they always use the freshest ingredients, It so nice to know when I go there what Im putting in my body isnt riddled with chemicals!

What a fantastic experience from the food to the service. As soon as you arrive you’ll see hand painted celebrities on the windows adding a cute touch to the business. Along side is a deck perfect for eating outside and enjoying the day. My favorite sandwiches are their doc Martin or the angry bird. The angry bird is a sandwich with Jalapeño cheese, turkey, bacon and more. The doc Martin is a pepperoni pressed Cuban sandwich with ham. Their specials are usually about $8 with chips and a combo and are completely worth it. They have vegan chips that are packed with flavor and are absolutely tasty! Not looking for a sandwich? They also have a produce section next to their eating area where I tend to get a lot of my jams. Overall this is my favorite place to eat!
The food is just plain delicious. Prepared by people who know what great tastes like. And the produce and jarred goods are all so fresh. Loved our first time here, and will definitely be back again many times.

Had lunch here today. Was not my first time and wont be my last. It is absolutely one of my favorite places in town.I feel like I can go off my diet and eat here with so many options of healthy food. Their salads,sandwiches and soups are AMAzing..Like their name indicates the produce is SUPER fresh !With the weather we are having now,it is great sit outside ! Lots of covering for those,like me,prefer some shade to sun.Between here and their other place,Ocala Downtown Diner,they have quite the booming business.Great food,super nice people.

It was ok. Southside deli has a better hot ham and cheese, and they put on rye. It was a little pricey. $3.00 for a fountain drink. If you dont pay the extra $2 for double meat it is a thin sandwich.

The owner of this deli and the diner across the street thinks that we should stop feeding the homeless, and likened them to cats, on social media. Its very appalling that a local business owner would declare that publicly.Also, he has lied responding to other reviews on Google. Telling customers the potato salad, slaw, and mac salad are his wifes recipes. Him and I grew up together, he tried to hire me. Ive toured both kitchens. Hes told me himself when I asked if the potato salad was homemade, Nah man, i order it from Sysco, its their sweet potato potato salad... Where has the integrity gone in business owners these days. This is a sad sad day...

Nine dollars for a small steak sandwich with fake A-1 sauce which was advertised on their menu that tasted terrible and was definitely not A-1 sauce. Wife was not aloud to change anything on her sandwich because it was a special and was told the reason why was because it affected their inventory. What?? Only one person had a good attitude working there also. Just a overall bad experience. Will not be going back....
