This is one of our favorite shops to browse. My tiny human and I make a habit of picking up cute greeting cards and a book here when we are in the area. I never leave empty handed.The prices are great, especially the used books that are in excellent condition.

Pegasus is one of my favourite places to peruse. There are several bookstores in the area, but my friends refer to Pegasus as the good one.This little shop has a selection of new and used books that seems to always have something delightful to discover and staff that is patient and happy to help.

Still one of the best bookstores to browse in. Great eclectic selection new and old, especially kids books, and well laid out.

I grew up in Oakland and used to frequent Pegasus Books then; I moved away a long time ago and just recently went back for a visit; here we are a couple decades later and its still going strong! Great place for reasonably priced gifts. Every January 1st theres a massive calendar sale with locals lined up around the block awaiting the opening of the store. The calendar selection is still good in the afternoon when its quieter.

Great new used and rare shop with true encyclopedic staff. A booklovers paradise. Well organized, used prices reasonable, and lots of cool funky gifts as well.

Pegasus is one of my favorite book stores in the whole world. Ive grown up in this bookstore and watched rockridge change over the past 25 years. This store never disappoints. The booksellers are experts in their field and offer epic recommendations. Thank you for being my home away from home.

Lots of newer books. They how ever did not have the Hannibal series by Thomas Harris. It was a little older than what they usually carried. They did offer to order it for me but I wasnt going to be in town long enough. I suggest taking a look around, I wrote down plenty of titles on my list of possible to read later.

I wish I took pictures, but I was so absorbed in looking at every little thing that I didn’t even think of it. This bookstore is magical. So many wonderful books, cards, trinkets, etc. to explore. I can’t wait to go back.

One of my favorite small book stores around. I cannot get enough of the independent book stores in the east bay! This place has great used books and discounted pricing on some new books.

I gave another location 5 stars, so Im not sure if i like this location less or if i simply had a different experience because i was actuallu buying books this time.First of all, the used books have a steep price for being second hand. I managed to find two used childrens books for $1 each, most of the used books seemed to start at $3 or more! Im not used to paying so much for used books. However, they participated in the public librarys summer program and i like to support local businesses (plus i love bookstores) so i bought a few.

Real gem that we were lucky to find so close to our Airbnb. Has long opening hours 7 days a week, which is good because the variety could have you browsing for hours and returning! A wide selection of new and used books and other book related items, polite staff and some reviews of certain books on the shelves. Prices are reasonable too. Definitely check it out if near College Av!

It is our tradition at the beginning of the year to go to their super magnificent 3 for 10 calendar sale. Not to mention this place is a great little family-owned bookstore.

A decent selection of books, mainly secondhand. Prices are good, but not great. The books are mostly of recent vintage, so you wont find much in the way of quirky or under-valued books. But, if youre looking for a recent used Penguin in very condition by some moderately obscure Russian novelist, you might well find it here. The area in which this bookstore really does shine is in its selection of remainders: a great, well tended selection, usually including a variety of books published in Britain.

Great place. It has a great children’s section. Small and cozy. Can find lots of travel books too. Overall great place.

I LOVE this book store! It is small, friendly, well=stocked, and pleasantly light. More importantly, the staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful when it comes to finding a book youve been longing for but have been unable to find. I live within a few blocks of this store, but if I lived across town, Id still make the trip to shop here.

A smallish independent bookstore with a comprehensive collection of just about all the titles youre looking for. Magazines & greeting cards & calendars. (Dont miss their once a year New Years Day calendar sale, 3 for $12) Located near coffee shops in a neighborhood with a diverse selection of goods & very walkable.

Another great East Bay bookstore. If I lived closer, Id probably shop here weekly. Its packed with new and used books and other items. I just bought an advent calendar for a friend. Visit Pegasus often and be delighted!
