Decent selection. Very clean shop. Several of their items are $5-$10 more than other places (Walmart, Academy etc). I asked Rick about price matching and it was a hard no. Unfortunate because Id rather give them my money rather than big box.

Had been reserching and shopping for 4 months for a fishing kayak. Have never used one, let alone fish with one. Am limited to how i could transport, as Im a full time RVer. Rick hooked me up. Rick did not try and sell me anything I didnt need. When i asked about other accessories for my new boat, he said save your money. He evan helped install racks and load boat an showed me best way to secure. Very professional and knowledgeable. He answered every question I asked, took his time, gave me a ton of information. Gave me a business card, offered any advise or answers to questions. Said just give him a call. His manager Jeff also was very helpful. The store is Immaculaty clean, with anything an everything you need to go fishing, highly recommend you check it out.

Had a very good experience today at this location. Called yesterday and asked about ACC Crappie Stix, they run about $60 with tax on average. this is a pretty good deal because this place is one of the only places in the DFW that carries them in stock. Its good when you can call a place and they can look something up and tell you if they got it. This turned out to be a secret gem for all of the fishing enthusiasts out there. Now it is my spot to go to 👍👍

We were new to the area and my husband was full of questions. To me most of them sounded to me like, yada, yada, yada, fish. Then a blah, blah, lure, blah, yada, fish. Fortunately, for me there is a Mexican restaurant next door. But I digress, returning to the awesomeness of this tackle store. My husband says blah, blah, they are very knowledgeable about, blah, blah, yada, polite and helpful, and my hubbys one million questions never seemed to bother them. They seemed to enjoy teaching a new person to the area what he needed to do to be successful in catching blah, blah, fish!In all sincerity a great place to go if YOU NEED ANYTHING REGARDING FISHING.

First of all, I walked in to fishing equipment galore!!! Kid in a candy store status! Location is clean, organized, and perfect for the beginner to the expert angular. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. I went in for a pole and came out with tips and suggestions to better my fishing experience. I’d recommend this location over a chain ANY DAY! They are there for the consumer. They even put line on my new reel!

Consumer ALERT- be 100% certain you want to keep your purchases at Angler Pro Tackle - they dont do returns to the method of payment and will only offer store credit. If I had known this, I would have purchased my products from a more customer centric business. 8/8/2020And to be fair, Rick is super knowledgeable about everything fishing - but he boasted about writing $40,000 checks to get kayaks to sell - and he sells hundreds a week. Amazed that he wasnt able to return a kayak that was used once, and has no damage. The kayak I purchased wasnt going to work for surf fishing. Made a mistake in purchase. Still, buyer beware - most retail companies would accommodate this return.Purchase date 7/31/2020. Well within normal retail industry 30 day return policy.

Just moved here from East Texas and thought I found my go to fishing gear spot and an upgrade to my current kayak. But then an older gentlemen from behind the counter called me out about not having a mask on. Upon walking in I noticed no customers, no staff expect the woman behind the counter, and the older gentlemen had his mask hanging off his face so I figured I was safe. He called me out in front of staff and other customers; I obliged, but pointed out his staff didn’t even have masks on. Don’t call me out if you won’t even enforce rules on your own employees. I will give you one extra star because the inventory levels were on point.

Great place! Staff is so friendly and helpful, but willing to let you browse on your own if that’s what you’re there for. Excellent selection of quality kayaks, no pressure to buy until you’re ready. They know their products and can help you choose a boat that is ideal for the way you will use it. We were in town for a Rangers game, and went looking for a Hobie dealer to check out the new models. When we are ready to purchase, we will be back, even with the 3 hour drive to get there. In addition to the kayaks, they have an excellent selection of tackle, rods, and more.

One of most respectably family owned businesses I have come across in my my time of kayaking. Very knowledgeable and respectable staff and wonderful people in general. I was doubting the 3-1/2 hour drive, but when I showed up to the store I was not let down. Got the Vibe sea ghost 130 and I had so many question, but each one was answered fairly to a point I could understand. Defienlty would make that drive again just to get some of my kayaking needs. Rick youre a good man and I appreciate all you did. 6 out 5 stars. Military friendly.

Spoke with the owner, who kindly invested plenty of time sharing his knowledge and expertise with me on my specific style of fishing.Its a smaller store with a good selection and the owner sealed the deal with his quality customer service.I will be back in the future, if nothing else, just for learning from the owner some great fish secrets.

After having a not-so-good experience here several months back when I took in a fishing pole Id broken the tip off of and getting a curt and rude reply, I decided to try them again to pick up some frozen shad. Never again! In my opinion, the older guy behind the counter is rude, lacks people-skills, and seems totally unappreciative for customers. No, No maam, Im sorry, were out....just I dont have any....I dont have ANY bait right now (after being prompted for any other frozen bait). From now on, Ill go out of my way where I know Ill get friendlier service!

I was looking foward to visiting this shop on a day trip with my dad! Unfortunately, despite the good selection and decent prices I doubt I will be returning. A man I asume to be the owner/manager followed me the entire time keeping an annoyingly close eye on me. The questions I did ask were answered short and to my disbelief wrong. Rounded the corner to find what I was looking for.....with that being said I know what he thought and what he was doing. Despite all that I still bought some stuff off the clearance rack (at a very good price). The comment at the end toped it off you sure did make a long trip for $6 dollars in bait

Ive been in a lot of tackle shops that casually sold kayaks. Ive been in the big box stores that sell below average kayaks. Then I came here. This is a awesome kayak store that also sells great lures that actually catch fish. Ive never seen so many quality kayaks and gear under one roof. The staff were helpful and fully engaged in their business. This is my goto kayak supplier from now on.

One of the best tackle shops I have been to. Some of the best customer service I have received and more selection that other outdoor stores like academy and Dicks. I saw other people leave bad reviews from people who have never been and just give bad reviews because they took a youtubers word for a situation that nobody knows what truly happened. I have been here twice and already will likely be the only tackle shop I will be going to for a while.

In the past I enjoyed visiting Anglers Pro Tackle. My baits were usually in stock and there was always something neat to look at. But things have changed.Recently my visits have been unpleasant. I have noticed the owner is always watching select customers. He puts off an uneasy and unfriendly vibe.For example, I observed the owner have a conversation with one customer. The owner stood behind the customer, questioning him one moment then watching him quietly the next. I would understand the owners concern, maybe he thought the customer was suspicious, but I have received similar treatment in the past. I couldnt stroll the isles without constantly being checked on. Maybe its over-the-top friendly service, but it certainly doesnt come across as such. Too many times Ive felt like the owner or an old staff member was paying too much attention to me.Also, Anglers has hired new staff that is not engaging behind the counter. They just arent friendly.My hope is that Anglers improves the way it treats its customers and improves its staff. This store used to not be this way and I always had a great time visiting. It was almost like an event!I hope Anglers improves in the near future. Id like to be a regular again.

Awesome place. Awesome people. Awesome selection. And awesome prices. Just picked up an slx dc reel and a rod.

Took an older bait casting reel in to be reassembled after disassbly for cleaning. The reel was only used one time in its life and functioned perfectly-just needed lubrication and assembly. I personally made sure every part was there.Two weeks later I got a call saying a part was broken in the reel and it could not be repaired because parts were obsolete. Bull. The guy just couldn’t put it back together correctly. I picked up the reel, took it to another repair facility. In one hour they called me back to inform me they can finish assembly if they had three missing parts. (That I know I had originally given Anglers). I called Anglers and they denied everything. Not very good customer service.

When I was first interested in kayak fishing - I did my researched and was definitely overwhelmed with what was on the market and definitely the $$$ kayaks. I live in Plano and when I found out about Anglers Pro Tackle & Outdoors - I decided to give them a try.I’m sure glad I did (Definitely Worth the drive)- This was a great experience and Rick & Patty are amazing to talk to and work with.I ordered a Vibe Skipjack 90 through them. After 4 weeks of waiting, I received a call from Rick explaining to me that they ran into some problem with my order due to freight shipping.Due to the trouble, Rick and Patty upgrades me to a vibe yellowfin 100. Absolutely amazing customer service.Aside from kayaks, they have a wide assortment of fishing gears. Instead of going to your retail chain stores, i highly recommend them for all of your fishing gears and kayaks. I plan on picking up a two seater kayak and I will definitely be back.Not only are you getting fair prices, but you’ll be getting the best service.

This place is very cool. Lots of good fishing stuff. It is a small independent business, and the owner is very nice as well as very knowledgeable about many different fishing technics. They have a great selection of just about everything.

Im not an avid fisherman to say the least, but I would unequivocally recommend this place to anyone. They talked with me, figured out where and what I would be fishing for, and then recommended only what I needed. Then they showed me the best way to hook the baits, and more importantly explained why the bait was the best one to use. Dont go to the big box stores. Go here.

I have been To this establishment 6 times the 1st time I spent $1400 on a kayak and parts for the kayak The day the day knew that I was Spending $1400 the owner would rush to my aid All the other times Ive been in there I been getting odds and and tackle the owner was very Unfriendly and seemed as if he did not want me in his store today I go in there after going to the gym to make a $60 Purchase and when I go to the gym I do not bring my wallet all I bring as my Watch which will work anywhere a magnetic strip card can be slid I go to check out and the owner tells me that that will not work here I say yes or it will it will work anywhere a magnetic strip works the process goes through and is approved and he goes On to tell me that he will no longer let me do that because people do fraudulent things now days which I understand but I have spentOver $2000 in the store with no problems to me it seems like this establishment is not willing or wanting your money unless you are going and to spend big bucks no wonder its always dead when I go . The guy in the back Russ however is very knowledgeable on kayaks and will not try to sell you the most expensive kayak unless that is actually what you need or want, talk to him stay away from the owner

I am exploring getting into kayak fishing, and decided to stop by one of the few fishing kayak shops in the area to see what inventory they had. I got lucky and showed up when it was a little slow. The owner, Mr. Rick Wallace, took 45 minutes out of his day to answer my questions, talk to me about starting out in kayak fishing, and explain what a beginner should be aware of with respect to kayaks, PFDs, and paddles. He also pointed me towards several kayak fishing clubs/groups in the DFW area, in case I wanted to find somebody to fish with.He never asked me to buy anything, he never ducked any of my questions, and he even pointed out a few other dealers that carried different brands if I wanted to look at those shops to see what other kayak manufacturers had to offer. Oh, and he even said he does demo days if you call him a day or two in advance. Now THAT is how you sell yourself and your brand. I will point anyone and everyone I know looking to purchase kayaks and/or fishing gear towards Anglers Pro Tackle in Richland Hills. He will definitely get business from me, no question.It is becoming harder and harder to find retailers like Rick, and that is why I felt so compelled to write this review, even though I am still in the looking phase (not an owner yet). I will be back at Anglers Pro once I am ready to buy. Even if I have to get a special order a brand he doesnt carry through his company, its worth it that much to me that he gets my business, because hes willing to risk losing a sale to make sure his customers are informed.

THE tackle store in the DFW area. Great selection of gear & baits that you used to only be able to get by online ordering. Service is excellent & they treat you like a fishin buddy instead of a customer. And if you are short on time, you can still do the online thing with their excellent web site.

Its nice to shop for fishing gear in a family owned and operated store by real fishermen/women. They have a large inventory/selection of tackle that actually can catch fish and at reasonable prices.

Terrible customer service. The owner accused me of lying about a tackle bag that fell apart 3 days after purchase. He stated it was over a year old despite the fact that I had a receipt which correlated with his transaction database.After several minutes of debate he decided to contact a Berkeley representative via text to see if they would honor a replacement, yet sent a biased message filled with pictures to highlight the idea that I was lying. I did not see the message, but assume it complemented his conclusion. He was extremely stubborn and rude during my visit.This is a business that treats customers with disrespect after a valid RMA request.
