I know Wayne and Amy through work, and these are amazing people here. Theyre the folks I regularly refer friends and family to without hesitation. Wayne is probably the most knowledgeable a/c guru youre likely to ever meet. (I mean the Stephen Hawking of his field.) They saved my bacon today and deserve a positive review better than Im capable of composing.
Family owned. I have done business with this place for many years. Always does first class work. Trusted
Took my car in for freon recharge and diagnostic test. They said my fan relay wasnt working and quoted me hundreds of dollars to fix it. I checked around and found the part for $20 at Autozone. I said no thanks. He warned that my car would overheat if I didnt get it fixed. When I got home I looked under the hood and found this (see picture). The fan was unplugged. Now either he forgot to plug it back in which is very incompetent or he wanted my car to overheat so that I would have to bring it back and pay thousands of dollars. This is the place your mother warned you about. Never again.
I would give a 0 if possible, I took my 2006 f150 in less than two years ago. they quoted a little over $1800.00 for a complete replacement of my AC system. I had to rent a car twice as the repairs werent done right the first time. when I got the truck back Wayne said it didnt need a compressor which I thought was off as the truck was 13 years old and I was very specific that I wanted and would pay for a new system that would last. yesterday the ac went out AGAIN, I called and Wayne said the warranty was only for one year and that it would be at least $700.00 best case. I wasted $1843.19, I hope this helps you make your decision.
I have a 2015 Chevy Silverado and my air conditioner stopped working. I took it up there they charged me a $100 to look at it and come to find out they said the evaporator and condenser were both leaking. They told me $2600 to repair. I decided to go have somebody else take a look at it and come to find out they were trying to make a bunch of money on me turns out the condenser was the only thing out and I was fixed for $650. Also after further research the evaporator is not possible to test unless you take the dash out which they did not do. Do not go here unless you have money to throw out the window.
They were booked out 2-3 weeks and didnt seem to really have time to help with my ac. You also have to leave your car for weeks is what they said so if your looking for fast service, dont bother.
Owner Wayne will discuss the mechanics of your system in detail. He has been there for over 30 years. Stellar service for me, A Car Guy..Signed, YouTubes REDNECK CHANNEL
I was referred to Cool Air by a friend. I will start this off by saying I am very picky with my vehicles, especially my F250. It has nearly half a million miles on it and I am willing to spend the money to keep it on the road, even if it might not make sense to most people because the truck means so much to me.I brought my F250 in for pretty much a rebuilt front end. Wayne and Amy inside are very pleasant and knowledgeable and respectful. They patiently explained all kinds of things along the way.More than that, however, Rob one of the mechanics is an absolute WIZARD. I’ve put 3 front ends in this truck over the last 13 years and 400,000 miles, and after it was all said and done, this is by far the best job. No corners cut on the quality of parts installed. FoMoCo parts where they promised they would be (lots of shops tell you they use OEM but actually go cheaper assuming the customer won’t know what to look for). He is amicable and knowledgeable and knows his way around these 3/4 ton trucks with his eyes closed. The truck goes straight down the road no more wander, no more suspension noises, and no more play in the steering! They also replaced a heater hose on my Tahoe that was leaking coolant all over the place. Nothing too remarkable there, a very simple job but it was done the morning after i dropped it off at a reasonable price! Cant beat that. Will for sure be back to visit with any other suspension, brake, minor motor, and ac/heat work in the future! And will absolutely not hesitate to refer my friends.
Great! Been using them for years now.
Excellent service ! Thank you so much for repairing my RAV 4 and replacing the starter in a day, just before the new Year Holiday. Wayne arranged towing and repairs aswell as transportation for me when my car broke down late one evening. All repairs were done fast and professional. Amy was so nice and picked me up from home. I have been using Cool Air for many years now for all kinds of car problems and can highly recommend them. Great Team! Many thanks!
These guys do great work! A family member thats in the trade recommended Cool Air. Very pleased with the results. I didnt want to bring it to just anyone. The entire dashboard had to be removed and I was very concerned about rattles, squeaks and such after it was completed. No worries here. Just like brand new. Fair price, quality work. What else do you want.
Best a/c shop in town and all other services as well
Great staff. Friendly folks. Amy at the front desk knows her stuff now!! Efficient work and affordable prices. They can do more than just AC here. Highly recommend.
Great mechanics at work for reasonable price!
I took a project vechile that I had put together after someone else failed to do so. I do not know a bunch on the ac side of things, but I replaced compressor and some other items and took it to Cool Air to charge and test. They was able to figure out that the two lines to accumulator were crossed and fixed it up and charged me less than what they quoted for initial testing. Very happy with my experience there and will recommend them to others.
Super Nice to talk to and awesome at explaining what your vehicle needs and what they can do. Im extremely happy with their service. 1st and only choice for me!!!
Great, fast service at decent prices. The folks who repaired my trucks air conditioner were knowledgeable, professional, and contacted me with an estimate before performing any repairs. Ill be bringing in another car soon!
I have been going here for several years. I have to say they do good work. I would recommend them.
Rockin it!
Very friendly and trustworthy place to take your car. They even shuttled my car to another shop for follow up service. I would recommend them to anyone that wants good pricing and reliable service.
Quick, friendly & clean! Not to mention to the amazing price!
I should have written this review a while back, but time got away from me. In November, right before I was set to drive from Texas to New Mexico for a Thanksgiving vacation with my family, my truck started having problems shifting. I took it to Cool Air. Wayne and Amy discovered the issue was a warranty problem and advised me to go to my dealership. They opted for honesty, fairness, and the best interests of their customer over making money! When the dealership denied my warranty claim, I took my truck back to Cool Air and they fixed the problem in one day. The truck gave me no problems on our 3000 mile road trip and has been running like a dream ever since. I am so glad to have a place like Cool Air with people I can trust, like Wayne and Amy, to go when my cars get sick!
Nice folks. Not just ac. These guys do absolutely everything. Great alignments.
I had an A/C problem and the reviews were very good plus they were nearby. I dropped the car off in the morning and didnt hear anything that day so I called early the next day. They were assessing the testing from the previous day. Turned out it wasnt a leak in the coolant line as I suspected but a bad seal. They repaired it and recharged the coolant. It seemed like a reasonable charge ($130+) for the service. Or so i thought...Updated... A few days later the AC stopped working. I returned and paid $150+ to fix the same exact problem! After the previous service I cleaned the area they repaired and I could clearly see the coolant leak in the exact same place using UV fluid and glasses .More out of curiosity, I returned a third time. This time they wanted to replace the AC suction line for $300+. Frankly there wasnt a chance I was going to spend more money at Cool Air to not get cool air.I cannot recommend Cool Air. If it is still open, it wont be for long. Terrible mechanical service by inexperienced employees. They said they were short-handed and looking to hire a young trainee. Heck! They need an experienced service person first! It seems young trainees is all they have. Frankly, find somewhere else.
Quick and easy..they know their stuff!
Took my car to another shop and was told I needed a new engine. Cool Air was recommended by another customer so I gave them a try for a second opinion. Im so glad I did because they fixed my car for a couple hundred dollars and it runs great now! It wasnt even an engine problem!
Always the best!
Everyone is a blessing and they do great work.. Very reliable and timely on getting your vehicle fixed.
Always great service and fair prices.
This place is amazing with great customer service and reliable service. I would recommend them to anyone.
I have a 2011 Hyundai that was not functioning as it is supposed to after taking it to a dealership both in Houston and locally. The problem was related to the fuel pump and fuel tank. After the car was in the dealer shop for 4 days I picked it up and dropped it off at Cool Air which I had used previously. Within a few hours the problem was diagnosed and within 24 hours the car was repaired and back on the road. Real shop with real mechanics. Thanks Amy and Wayne for a place you can trust for repairs.
Wayne knows ACs and his shop has tools other shops dont have. Rob is a genius. He quickly and accurately dealt with a potential disaster I had coming my way, courtesy of Ford engineers. If I had taken my truck to my regular diesel mechanic for its AC problem, I would have spent twice as much money and who-knows how much extra time (and I like my regular diesel mechanic). There is a relatively unknown issue with F250 that causes practically undiagnosable issues with brakes, AdvanceTrac & ABS when you disconnect and reconnect the brake light switch (something necessary to access the components in the AC repair they were doing). But, this was no problem for Rob. It literally took him about half an hour to diagnose and repair an issue that usually takes Ford mechanics multiple attempts and hundreds and hundreds of dollars in unnecessary replacements to repair.I called my diesel mechanic afterwards and asked if they had knowledge of this F250 specific issue and how to resolve it. They knew of the issue and described how difficult it is to repair and warned of the issues they have encountered with this problem, but didnt know the simple and accurate fix that Rob figured out.Essentially, if you follow the ford protocol to diagnose and repair the symptoms I had, you will unnecessarily replace many electrical and computer components of the AdvanceTrac system and never find the real issue - a flaw in the AdvanceTracs programming which includes a ridiculously simple adjustment to the brake pedal if you unplug the F250s brake light switch. Super simple, but no one knows about it - except Rob and a handful of people on the internet if you dig deep enough.
DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE...Dropped my car off there 3 days ago to get my air conditioner looked at. Wayne (Im assuming the owner) calls me angry to tell me that someone switched the refrigerant in the car without leaving any stickers to warn that it is no longer R-12 and that he almost wasted expensive R-12. He begins to tell me angerly that if he knew who did he would call the police.. And he REFUSED to work on it and I need to come up and get it. When we came to pick up my car he continued to belittle me for what had been done to my car previously. My father who dropped me off did not like his tone and told him he needed to watch his tone and that I did not do it so I didnt know it was in there... He began to get in a screaming match with my disabled father. I am in disbelief that someone would speak to me and my father in the way he did.. There are plenty of places to take your car to get worked on and If you read this I would look somewhere else. If I could give a negative star I would.
Awesome group of people that I can trust will give me all the strait details on my car. They installed a new A/C into my aveo I bought 6 years ago and blows ice cold even now. They can handle any electric problem imaginable on a car. I had fuses and wiring shorting out in my car and they went through the entire system with a fine tooth comb and gave me every piece of information in detail. These guys wont mess around. The just fixed my aux fan in my car for a price within my budget in 24 hr turn around. Ill keep my cars coming to them.
Great service and great people! They tell you exactly what is wrong and offer sound advice.
