Eye exam was good but the price of frames & lenses was not worth the money. Gotta wait 2 weeks on mine. My friend & I went the same day & the next day her lenses fell out of frame.

Came in without an appointment and was greeted by a friendly technician who was eager to help me find the best deal. I used my old frames and had my news lenses made the same day. Only took a couple of hours and they turned out wonderfully! Saved me hundreds of dollars from using Walmart’s vision services and was faster and cheaper and MUCH friendlier!!! Would definitely recommend!
The team was so kind and generous with their time in helping me. Im not a patient of this location; I was in the state helping my son to relocate for work. While in SC my glasses broke and I had no contacts/no other glasses with me. I called Eyeglass World and explained my predicament to Cynthia who invited me to come right in. Despite the office being very busy, she took the time to fashion a new stem for me out of spare parts. It was no easy task because of the way my glasses had broken. She was determined to make it work and was not giving up. She was so empathetic and worked so hard to help me despite knowing I was not local/wouldnt be a return customer. She really saved the day for me and Im so grateful. Would definitely recommend this location for their outstanding customer service!

I was so thrill by my experience here at Eyeglass World. The staff was pleasant, I was greeted when I walked in, I was advise of what my insurance would cover as well as many of options. I am glad I was referred and the mere fact that my glasses was ready by the next day and I paid 1/2 of what I paid for two pairs verse the one pair I got from Lens Crafters the previous. They definitely have gain a customer. Thanks Eyeglass World! I can see clearly now At the right price! :)
I’ve gone here for my annual eye exam for 2 years. My first experience went well. The optometrist is friendly and they’re affordable. This year when I picked up my glasses one of the arms were defective. I had to wait to get another pair. I picked up the new pair and after wearing them for a few minutes at home I realized it’s the wrong prescription. I have no idea how that happened. At this point I’m just frustrated. I don’t plan on returning next year. I would rather find somewhere that gets it right the first time.
I was booked an appointment for june 7th and I called to confirm and they tell me they have no doctor!!!! The doctor has gone to the new office in MT.Pleasant this is HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
My visit today was pleasant. William helped me with ordering new lens for my glasses that I have grown to love so much. Thank you for cleaning my glasses William. Greatly appreciated. Eyeglass World was very impressive; from the wonderful employees that greet you on arrival, assist in choosing your frames and then when my glasses were completed they were perfect! I will never go anyplace else for my glasses; just watch out for the entryway drive-its a mess and you best go very slow if you dont want a flat tire. (Not sure what the deal is with that)

I had broken my frame. the screw broke off in it and I could not get it out. The frame had been discontinued, but Foster found the frame and had them the next day. She was very helpful and a joy to work with. Highly recommend!
Typical new American business model. Place your order for glasses pay in full then the I dont care attitude. Not ready when they say they are, tell you when to come back. Come back still not ready, no notification. I guess they will blame it on Covid next. American businesses are struggling for a reason and its not Covid, its poor management and unqualified work force.
The doctor did a fine job but one of the employees was politely rude when I had to tell them 4 times the tint wasnt right. She tried to make me feel guilty that the man doing the tint wasnt doing his job right, said they were really trying. TRAIN THE MAN TO DO HIS JOB RIGHT!!! The manager eventually gave me my money back

I understand all the negative reviews now. I went to the store on Rivers, where I spent over $300 on 2 pair of glasses, to have my glasses repaired. Its a fairly simple fix. One of my arms broke off. All they would have to do is undo the screw, put a new arm on, and put the screw back in. Apparently, thats over their head. They said they couldnt repair them and I would have to buy new frames for $99. Youre better off going to Walmart because this place sucks. And whats with everyone wearing a white coat? Thats just dumb.
We were on vacation and a screw fell out of my daughters glasses. They put a new screw in and cleaned them up and didn’t charge a thing. They were very fast and super helpful. We really appreciated it!

Update. *I just had an appointment at the rivers avenue eyeglass world and my experience was amazing. They eye doctor was so sweet. My glasses salesman was Brandon and he was so helpful, and fast. When I went back for an exchange the next day it was very crowded and every single person was so nice and accommodating to do what I needed done. Highly recommend!*I have always had a good experience at Eyeglass World. All the negative reviews I read seem to be because they are understaffed. Hopefully this is a temporary issue, because it really is a good place to buy glasses. They are better quality than America’s Best. Customer service in Charleston in general is lower quality than anywhere I have lived, so when you take that into consideration, Eyeglass World is doing pretty well. I can definitely see how out of town people would be shocked at the service they received here compared to what they get in their hometown. It has taken me a while to adjust.

Prior to the walk in appointment I had never have an eye exam before. The entire team there treated me very friendly and very welcoming and even had enough humor to crack jokes, occasionally; which made the experience much more pleasurable for me. I would highly recommend visiting this facility for your future needs of vision correction
Sure would have been nice if the staff warned me the doctor was stuck in traffic before I got here. I asked if they had an estimated time, they didn’t know.Don’t get me wrong, I completely understand things happen, but when you make appointment, my time is valuable too.Customer service is everything. That’s one less customer they will have. Now off to find another one.

I agree with Denise Jennings. My very first exam was rushed and I ordered glasses and it was the wrong prescription. I told myself I would never go back but against my better judgment I went again for another annual exam and it was rushed. I went back several days later to let them know that my prescription in my left eye was wrong and they said it’s probably an adjustment issue. They adjusted my glasses and I was a little better but not much, then they sent me on my way. I feel that they just didn’t want to give me another exam. I finally went back a couple weeks later and let them know I didn’t want an adjustment but another exam. They gave me another one and the dr was extremely shocked that my prescription changed within a few weeks. Truthfully, if she wasn’t rushing the first time then I would have gotten the correct prescription and she wouldn’t have been so shocked. I’m so over eyeglass world and I am never going back there to get my eyes checked.Save yourself the trouble and go to a better and more accurate place.
Charlene was a wonderful help when I walked into the store. She greeted me and my son with great hospitality. There was an employee was on the phone the while time I was there. You can tell she wasnt talking to a customer on the phone. They where one other employee in the back that also wouldnt help Charlene out. Charlene was assisting customers and also answering the phone because the other employees wouldnt answer the phone. But Ms. Charlene was wonderful help.
Excellent! I just had my first visit to Eyeglass World today. Everything was top notch from start to finish. All of the staff was friendly. The doctor was wonderful, and my glasses were ready about 2 hours after my exam. I am very happy. Thank you for great care.
I really enjoy coming to this particular eyeglass world! I always receive wonderful service no matter who is working! I have gotten my eyes checked here several times and each time was a wonderful experience. I thank the lovely optometrist, I believe here name was Terrain, and I also thank the receptionist, Saline. But most of all, the two Tonys were so much fun, Tony P. and Tony M. I will never forget T and T lol! If anyone sees this comment, just know that this is a great place to call your eye-home.
Eyeglass World is 5 stars for me!!! I bought my glasses in July and broke both pair, thank goodness I got the warranty! I came in this morning and Tony Price was wonderful. He fixed one pair and put new lenses in it too. The other pair got ran over by a car so he could not fix them. Even better I got a new pair and this all was done less that an hour!! Thank you for the GREAT customer service!!!
I wish I can give them zero stars. I need a single contact they didn’t have them in stock. I asked for a trial pair until my order came in Brandon refused to give me pair . I offered to pay for the trail he refused. The customer service was Terrible I recommend you go somewhere else because I’m on the three-year plan and no care was given to my situation the worst place to shop Go to Americas Best!

Glasses came out fine, parking lot is a hazard. I spent $300 on frames and another $150 on a new tire driving out of the facility. I don’t know what else I can say about that. Super unhappy about the experience. Wouldn’t use the location for that reason alone.Update: Management reached out to me about the issue and said that corporate will reimburse me. This is an acceptable outcome, and I am happy that I was reached out to. I am increasing the rating to 4 stars, barring any reason that the reimbursement doesnt happen.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. I was able to get an appointment very quickly. I didn’t have a long wait time for my appointment and I was able to pick up my glasses the same day within two hours after seeing the doctor. I would definitely recommend them. Brandon was a great help with everything!

Atrocious. From out of town with a child in the childrens hospital. Lost my glasses. Desperate for a new pair so I could drive us home. Had no idea where this place was located. The person I spoke with on the phone could have cared less to help.The response, Yeah. I have no idea. I had a prescription my optometrist bent over backwards to scan to me so I could get a pair of glasses made. In an already stressful situation, youd hope people could be kind but not Eyeglass World. i literally needed to know where they were located, if they could take my Rx, how to get my Rx to them, and how long it would take to get the glasses made. No. One. Cared. Go to Lens Crafters. They will help you!

Have purchased many pairs of glasses here over the past 4 years. Always quick and helpful. Very affordable glasses and do not pressure you to upgrade. Would like a faster exam schedule but all in all its a 5 star rating. Also repaired my glasses for free a couple of times. I highly recommend this place and will be stopping by again tomorrow because I lost my glasses yesterday. Wish they were open on Sunday.

I needed new glasses cause my old ones were broken and I had Charlene help me out. Shes such a sweetie pie! I bought 2 pairs glasses but when one came in they were way too big. I was able to choose another pair with no hassle! Charlene fixed my crooked frames and told me about a great pizza place. Ive been going there for 5-6 years and still satisfied!

Then, The girls, now “my girls” Cayla and Jenny(I’m sorry if your name is wrong the awesome girl with the long red hair and red glasses to match) gave me a makeover and patiently helped me pick my glasses! I loved it I felt like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman! Forget Walmart! Forget Lens Crafter! At Eyeglass world you get champagne treatment for a beer pocket deal! For $99.99 I became a club member that includes free eye exams For the next 3 years. But wait.... there’s more!!! I got 2 pairs of beautiful glasses including the lens for $78.00 plus a complimentary pair of contacts and solution. You can’t beat that with a baseball bat! Folks, if you are like me who has been a 4 eyed girl since the age of 8, you know how pricey glasses can get! Please before you go anywhere else come see the team of awesomeness at eyeglass world! Zero stars was not an option. Atrocious. Went out of my way to visit on a Saturday morning after being assured on the phone that they could turn around a glasses order in a day. Everybody else in town needed a week to 10 days to order progressive lenses. Was waited on by a nice woman who measured me and said if I returned with my prescription today (I had an optometrist appointment that afternoon), I could pick them up Monday. Told her I would return at 4:00. Showed back up at 4:00 and was informed by some sullen salesperson that they had “run out” of lenses and they would need to be ordered. “A week to 10 days” — right back to square one.
I felt very rushed with the eye exam. The price of my glasses turned out much much more than advertised. And once I got them they still were not completely right.
I ordered glasses a while back from this location and recently needed to have them adjusted. The staff was wonderful. I was able to be helped right away and was adjusted in no time.
I do not recommend this place. The doctors are friendly but that’s about it. The girls working here are rude and instead of helping patients sit and gossip. I took a chance and made an appointment here instead of the place I used to go to and I regret doing so. I was told my prescription would cost me a little over $200 and I ended up paying $400+ dollars which was fine what bothered me most was the girls working there so unprofessional if you don’t like your job look for another one people are paying money.

Not the best customer service, but not the worst either. Staff does seem to have an attitude at at times, but its nothing a talk to the manager cant fix. Prices are reasonable for those with and without insurance. Optometrist Dr. Watchhorn is GREAT!!! Im a diabetic and had some retinal leakage, she referred me to a retina specialist and they got me taken care of!

Make sure you get what you paid for. I ordered an Armani frame with transistion lenses, but when I went to pick them up... Some plastic frame sunglasses instead of what I ordered.Worst part is that my glasses were made outside of the store, and when received by the store, my order was not checked for accuracy.I will never shop here again, and my likelihood to recommend is Not A Chance I asked for a refund on the nearly $600 pair of glasses, and kept the $300 second pair (Different Frames & Lenses)Update...The manager correct the issue and sent me the 2nd pair at no charge. I do thank them for fixing the problem, but probably will shop elsewhere in the future.

I went to store in North Charleston SC on 9/30/2017 to see if I could get a pair of my glasses fixed. Have called a few times to see if the frames have come in yet. As of this date 10/15/2017 I have not heard anything back from them. I was told it would only be a few days. Nice to know that you can take someones money but cant deliver the product
Both my boyfriend and best friend recommended this place to me as they each purchased afforable and reasonable glasses here with no insurance. Now, not under my moms vision insurance no longer, I hadnt had new glasses let alone an eye exam in over 5 years. My glasses were old though I could still see with them. I did a walk in on a Saturday which is typically busy but I was in and out within about 2 hours. I did the two pairs for $78. The selection of different frames were appropriate for the price in my opinion. Staff was friendly. Definitely affordable for a college student such as myself.
Purchased 3 pair of glasses and paid over $700.00 on my side as well as what they filed with my insurance in early December 2016 and here it is the end of January 2017 and I still do not have 2 pair of my glasses. 1st prescription written was incorrect and the store manager changed the lens in one eye. Remade glasses and 2nd prescription was incorrect resulting in severe headaches. 3rd prescription and 3rd eye examine one eye only by the way and Optometrist blames Manager, Manager blames Optometrist. Corporate says the Optometrist is not affiliated with the store. 10+ trips back to this store and numerous excuses by the staff. No one knows what is going on and not a single call back from the Store Manager. My time and travels back and forth over this situation have been severely taken for granted and I am frustrated and furious. This week I reached out to Customer Service at the Corporate Office and was given the District Managers number which only goes to voice mail. Called and left a couple of messages for him and as of today no return call from him either. What a fiasco!

I have just experienced my worst service at the eyeglass world on rivers ave. The scew in my glasses broke, so I went in to see if it could be fix. The male associate that attempted to help me, took my glasses stretch the frames and then gave them back to me and said they couldnt be fix. He then told me they were not covered by warranty so I could either buy another pair or see if I could find some one to re drill the screw hole. Oh by the way, one of the lenses was missing as well. His attempt to find my lenses also included going into the trash can, coming out with a lense that he found and said here it is. I just could not believe what I saw, so I said to him, thats not my lenses. Why would my lenses be in the trash can? His response, maybe someone threw it in their. I just couldnt believe what was happening, so he get mad because now Im upset with the service hes providing. One of the young ladies who I asked if she could clean the lenses for me, ask one of the gentleman behind the glass, that makes the glasses for you if he could fix the issue. He kindly took the glasses and repaired them for me. So not only was his comment, take them some where else to be repaired, a dumb response, they were repaired in the store. Ive been doing business with this establishment for 7 years, and this was my last visit to this store. By the way the manager sat in her office and watched this take place and not once came out and asked me what was going on. If you have to visit this establishment ask for Tammy, she will do right by you, but I will never step foot in this place again.
I went in and order 3 pairs of glasses. 2 regular pairs and a pair of RayBan prescription sunglasses. The sunglasses were ready the same day. They told me my regular pairs had to be ordered and it would take about a week. Well here we are two weeks later so I call and they tell me one pair is in but not the others.

I had an amazing experience with Kristi Watchorn at Eyeglass World in North Charleston. I have tried to wear glasses over the years and have never been successful. I thought now that I am much older I would try contacts. I had difficultly having never worn contacts before and having a difficult prescription. Kristi never made me feel like a nuisance and was completely patient with me. Most providers would of lost patience a long time ago on a difficult problem child like myself. I would highly recommend her to anybody. They also saw my daughter and they did a great job on making her glasses so she could quickly return to college.
Very disappointed in my experience so far. I went to Eyeglass World at the end of September and the doc prescribed the wrong prescription. When I tried to go back, the store was closed due to damage from Hurricane Matthew. Understandably so. However, every time I called, the phone just kept ringing and didnt find out they were closed up til I drove over to the store. Fast forward a lot of unreturned calls and mixed information.... I went for a follow up appointment and the doctor tried arguing with me about the prescription being wrong. After another exam, it WAS wrong. Now, Im waiting for my glasses to be redone. Yesterday, they were supposed to be ready at noon. Today, at 6pm, I went to the store but only to find out that they messed up the lens and cant have them ready until tomorrow between 4pm and 5pm. The manager said that she should have called and was sorry that she didnt. Im just really disappointed in my overall experience.
Have been checked in since 520pm here it is 645 and they had to verify my insurance again because the receptionist didnt know where she put my insurance info. They kept entering the wrong insurance information, the mens section has way better designs than the womens section, and they are really slow.
When I walked in I was immediately greeted by numerous employees. Thereafter, I was immediately assisted by Salina and Anthony (Tony) and they were extremely helpful! I went to look for new frames really not knowing what I wanted; and I had a limited amount of time to complete my transaction. Before I knew it Tony and Salina had picked out several frames they thought would fit my needs. Their selections were the perfect fit and in fact, I left with two pairs. Tony was able to complete my order with plenty of time to spare. I returned just a few hours later and both pair were ready and off I went. I highly recommend Eye Glass World, but more importanly I highly recommend you see Salina and Tony!
I went into the store to make a eyeglass appointment yesterday and met the rudest lady imaginable. I did not catch her name but she had on a white coat. First off this was the first time I had been in the store since it was remodeled. I use to come here for my glasses but hurricane Matthew had the store closed for awhile and I went to a place in the mall. I decided to come back since I did not like the place in the mall. I showed the lady my new insurance name and she told me I had to pay $39.99 for a exam. I said my paper said they were included and she said no it isn’t. She couldn’t point to where it said that on my paper or the paper she printed. Basically she made me think my insurance was worthless. I went to pearl vision and boom exam covered as was other things. Also this associate before she helped me was talking to another associate and said don’t know nothing. Your team lost another customer. Also please fix the potholes for the other customers who unfortunately come into this location

Great service. Told me 3 hrs for my tinted lenses and 1 hr for my reg lenses. Because they knew I still needed to go to DMV, 1 hr later both were ready!
Well I recently visited this establishment and sort of had a bad experience. I’m sorry that the one person that provided exceptional customer service may have to suffer with this post. I was speaking with Selena (her name will stick with me forever due to her knowledge of their products and plus one of my all time favorite movies), when I became distracted by a “side convo” that another employee voluntarily offered to another customer. The young lady was speaking about a miscarriage she recently suffered. Believe me when I say I sympathize with her however that convo and in the manner in which it was presented is very inappropriate for a customer service friendly establishment. It bothered me because I myself suffered from the loss of not one but two children and just as my “scab” her unsolicited convo ripped it off. To the young lady Selena, hats of to you for keeping it professional. Hopefully management can coach the other young lady on what is “acceptable work place convo.”
Called to ask a question about my prescription and was told they were too busy to talk to me, left a message and they didnt call me back. When I called back an hour later I was told to leave another message because theyre understaffed but I can come in a physically talk to someone if I want to. Rude and unhelpful.

I am very unhappy with the service I am receiving with this company. I paid for two pair of Rayban glasses and warranty with my daughter s first pair of glasses. Of course she lost the first pair within the first six months, which is expected she is nine. This was the whole purpose of purchasing insurance. But then they told me, that the insurance only covers broken but not lost or stolen glasses. Of course that had me furious, because having insurance, I thought would cover everything but IT DOESNT. Then she sat on the second pair of glasses and broke them. We live in North Carolina and I was told by Shane that I could mail the glasses to him and the would remake them and send them back. Two days later I received a call from Shane stated they no longer make those style glasses. i asked that he send out The first pair that was lost and he stated that was not a problem. He was suppose to get back in contact with me but havent. I expressed the urgency of the situation because my daughter cannot see. It has been over two weeks and still no glasses and no response from him. Very dissappointed
I had the worst experience with this company. They are rude, very unprofessional, they over talk you, no one knows anything. I had to her a pair of lenses made 3 times, due to horrible quality. I was reffered to while standing in line quietly as This Female, that was the most disrespectful thing I have ever heard. Just horrible!!! I could write a book about this but I am keeping this short, this is just a small piece of what really happened.

My husband and I went to get new glasses. We received the worse customer service ever. The women working at the check in counter was the most unprofessional person that I have ever meet. She did not greet use when we arrived was rude throughout our visit We will never go to another eyeglass world again. It was bad!!!
Worst experience ever! The optometrist told me I didnt need prescription glasses. Ive always had some prescription glasses. He was very rude and unprofessional. Never going back!
Horrible customer service VERY rude !!! Made an appointment today for 4:45 was still waiting at 5:20 meanwhile people without an appointment were getting service before me who came after me
I seem to keep having problems with them ... I ordered two pairs on glasses they messed up the orders the one that was supposed to have the anti glare does not also that same pair that doesn’t have the anti glare the prescription is wrong the eyes are switched and I told the man that fitted the glasses on me that it looked blurry and what he told me was I just had to get used to them wrong and they kept telling me different dates when I asked when they were gonna be in. Update (Brandon has been very kind in helping resolve the issue at hand )
Not a place for high end name brand or sun glasses but walked away with their highest end glasses, 2 for 1 deal with prescription polarized sunglasses and regular glasses for 300 bucks
Horrible service at optometrist by the time I proved our insurance we, yes we missed our appointment
