Excellent choice for military and vetrans. Always good prices on everything, food alcohol and also their firearms especially on black friday as well!Always get my haircut here but only from a specific person though.
Has everything you need in a much less crowded space. Customer service is great. Very friendly workforce.
I remember going here as a teenager when my.dad was in the navy great times, it hasnt changed a bit still looks awesome
My visits to this PX is very pleasing and productive. The PX is always clean and one can usually find what one is seeking easily.
Great sales staff in the Firearms section. Thanks Leroy for your professionalism.
Ive been coming here with my husband. After a number of interactions I decided to give a review. Staff usually not friendly. A few people a gun counter were friendly. One guy in particular was very helpful. Wish I would have gotten his name. That was why I gave it 2 stars. Would have given it 1star. Their stock is usually low on some items. Ive visited here a few times looking for tactical gloves size small but they never seem to have them in stock. I asked a employee which said they were getting a shipment so I came back and again nothing. My main reason for low review other than low stock and not friendly employees is rudeness.A few times coming to check if they were in stock it seemed I was being watched. Not sure if they singled me out but definitely felt very uncomfortable.
Store itself is clean, they do have quick convenient options! However due to the lack of people working, the line for checkout was long and took a bit to get through.
Excellent service. The salesman was very professional and polite. Great experience. Very knowledgeable of the items of purchased. Will definitely shop there again.
Order on line and pick up here. Great customer service!
This place has everything. Nice one stop shopping.
Always worth the trip, clean, well stocked, and friendly staff
The store doesnt open until 10, whats up with that? Also no hot coffee is kind of a bummer because the NEXs in the area all have it. Also, the gun counter is great, but is ALWAYS out of ammo...
Great spot. Good location.
Omg so awesome and wonderful staff at the gun counter and store thank you all
Pretty nice exchange for a small place.
People working the weapons desk gave the feeling that they didnt want to be there or they were annoyed by my presence and the prices were considerably higher than any other I researched in the area with regard to the weapons I was looking for.
Good selection of whiskey and Bourbon, but unfortunately no local or Virginia brands.
The gun counter at MCX Camp Allen is well worth the visit. I wanted a Gen 5 Glock 19 and they had the best price of anyone else in the area by more than $100. I arrived when the counter opened at 10 am. By 10:30 I had completed all paperwork and the background check, and was out the door with my new gun. Check their social media pages because they regularly have sales with 10% (and sometimes 15%) off certain categories or brands. The customer service is okay but dont expect to be fussed over. If you know what you want and are eligible to shop at the MCX, this is the place to go for guns.
Gun counter has great prices. Unfortunately due to size they are limited in selection. Like the staff though.
My favorite place to buy alot of odds and ends and the gun buying process is probably the best there for a service members they have everything you need.
Nice clean facility. Not badly their fountain drink station was down but understand.Friendly staff, clean restrooms. Will return.
A nice place to shop. not too busy in and out.
Clean, clean, clean! Great place to stop for the essentials and snacks when we went to ODU to see our daughter. Gas station is separate but has great prices. Must have military ID to purchase anything.
The Elmore Marine Corps Exchange gave me a great shopping experience. This Marine Corps Exchange was filled with a variety of items. I found everything I was looking for, and then some! Not only is the store filled with a variety, but also all employees are prompt, professional, courteous, and tactful. The Elmore Marine Corps Exchange has a welcoming atmosphere that leaves the customer wanting to come back time and time again. All items in the Elmore Marine Corps Exchange are reasonably priced and affordable.I have been to several Marine Corps Exchanges, but none compare to the Elmore Marine Corps Exchange. Elmore Marine Corps Exchange exceeded my expectations for several reasons, and here are some reasons why: Elmore Marine Corps Exchange was very clean, the store has a great layout that made it easy to find what I was looking for and navigate through, and all employees went above and beyond for me.Finally, the Elmore Marine Corps Exchange is easy to find, and also has accessible parking...
Very good
Smaller version of the NEX, youll find some of the things you think you might need in there
Went to the gun counter. Tried to make a purchase. Three people working. Only one person helping people. The other two sat behind the counter and looked at customers. One of the employees sitting behind the counter yelled at a customer they should get a Virginia drivers license. The DMVs are closed, due to Covid-19. Terrible customer service.
Great store that has just about all your needs without being cluttered like other Exchanges with hard to sell items.
Nice convenience store, good selection of alcohol.
Great variety considering the store is small.
Great place. Very nice people work there.
Do not recommend barber at MCX, not following COVID guidelines. High risk to personal health.
Dont recommend for gun purchases. I bought a Savage bolt action .22 LR with a threaded barrel and three times in a row they changed the ID requirements, raising it each time. I even showed them the state and federal guidelines which prove this isnt an assault weapon and their response was, we can raise our requirements anytime we choose. Last time I ever bought a firearm from them!
No womens clothing at all.
I love this place
The MCX had the bright idea to get rid of the customer service counter along with the electronics. They are trying to turn it into a camping supply center. The liquor store is not competitive with the naval base liquor store but at least the barbershop has quality barbers and great prices. Store is kept clean and stocked shelves. Cashiers are friendly and helpful ideal location when you dont want to drive to the naval base but limited selection of items.
The folks behind the counter were very helpful and knowledgeable
There isnt many selection as far as USMC uniform items. If you wear anything below a medium-reg, your best best is to order online. Other than that, decent selection on souvenir items.
Always love going here
Wonderful customer service today.
A nice place to shop
I am happy that we have this shop. Feels more professional than NEX does.
Strategically located for authorized local residences dod staff students and guests with every day essentials. Offers barber shop gun shop small outdoors selections itt MC merchandise liquor and the usual convenient store purchases. Staff is friendly too and they keep shelves nicely stocked and organized and things moving. Couldnt ak for more.
The only Marine Corps PX in the area. Its small, but they have all the USMC uniform items you cant find locally.
Hidden gem when it comes to having alcohol👌🏽
Cool little earlier exchange. Lots of good deals and a variety of merchandise at good prices .
A decent sized MCX with a variety of apparel (civilian & military). I was most impressed by the sporting goods section (beautiful pistols).
Great place. Small MCX. Set up the girl scout cookie booth, lots of hungry Marines!
*Barbershop review*I got a haircut by the owner of the shop, who is an African-American lady. I was growing my hair out, so I asked for a medium skin fade. And she jacked my haircut all up. No attention to detail, certain parts of my hair were longer than the other side. It wasn’t a good haircut at all. I actually had to get it fixed, by someone else. This is the 2nd time I went with her and the first time she didn’t do that great either. I understand it’s just a “regulation cut” but still it’s like she stuck me in the chair, had to ask me 2x what I wanted, because she didn’t hear me the first time, and she just rushed my haircut and basically, it’s like she didn’t care. AND IT WASNT EVEN BUSY. it was literally was just me in there, no line.I’ve gotten my haircut done by a guy named AL there, before the Lady, and he did a good job. I don’t recommend going to the African American owner, just skip her..
Good way to kill some time. And some money. Just another convenience store that you need military ID to shop at.
Way better selection of tactical items than the NEX
You get what you pay for. Melissa is great! I recommend you ask for her!
Prices are higher than I thought they would be
Really enjoyed doing there.
Great employees, lots of variety, everything you need.
Has everything you need. Plenty of parking. Small food court with limited choices. Super friendly staff. Very clean.
Great little MCX, guns, liquor, uniforms, barber shop, TTX and sporting goods.
Its great to have an MCX on this Navy installation. This is not a large MCX but it does have a great selection. Everything from uniforms to guns. They even clean and press uniforms.
For the size of it they have a pretty good selection of everything. Not usually very busy during the day. Has a navy federal atm out front.
Good place to shop if you are a Marine. A good selection of merchandise in clothing (including uniform items), sporting goods, firearms and accessories, housewares, and convenience store fare.
“Semper Fedelis” is the motto of the Marine Corps. It means “Always Faithful”, but, it’s implications of ethics, integrity and honesty are everywhere. As far as I am concerned, those qualities are permanently attached with everything having to do the Marine Corps. Today, I wish to applaud the Marine Corps Exchange garage at Camp Allen in Norfolk, Virginia.I have an old car. As a retired sailor, it is what I can afford to drive. It’s a 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid with over 250,000 miles. Because it is so old, occasionally I will take it to the dealer, Checkered Flag Honda, to get work done on it. The last time was to get a tuneup. They are expensive but thorough in checking out your car. The last time I visited, they gave me a printout of all the things that should be repaired. They list was extensive; total cost of all repairs were in excess of $6400.00. In fairness, not all were of immediate concern and with all older car, many will never be done. One item, however was marked as an immediate safety issue. The replacement of a Bushing in the front of the car. I believed them and I did take my car to a local civilian Gas/Garage station – to save money. That was a serious mistake. The shoddy work done caused me alarm. A rattle and vibration in the front of the car was discomforting. I took my car to the Marine Corps exchange garage and they repaired the shoddy worked done by local civilian garage. I am embarrassed to say how little Corps exchange charged me.Not all mechanics are dishonesty but many of them are. If your car is in need of repairs, take it to the Marine Corps garage. You can thank me later.I cannot thank the Marine Corps Exchange garage enough. I am know that I am rambling, but I have to do so.Specifically, I wish to thank Steve, Joe, and the amazing staff at the Marine Corps exchange garage.I am limited to five (5) stars but they have earned ten stars.A footnote about integrity and the Marine Corps Exchange garage: While there a few days ago I accidentally dropped some money on the floor (when I took my cellphone out of my pocket). Not only did they retrieve the money but they kept the money awaiting my return to claim it.Think about that. They could easily have kept the money and simply denied ever seeing it. Now, THAT is integrity and that is indicative of all the mechanical work done at the Marine garage; done with honesty, professionalism and integrity.A note to ALL ACTIVE AND RETIRED MILITARY. I’ll repeat: If your car is need of repairs take your car to the Marine Corps Exchange garage. Also, and this is extremely important. In buying a used car, PLEASE have it checked out by the Marine Corps Exchange before you commit. For less than a car payment (in lost cases), they will checkout that older car from stem to stern and give you a REAL evaluation. My old Honda Hybrid has over 250,000 miles on it so soon I’ll be in the market for another Honda Hybrid. I do not wish to spend more than $5000 (excessive miles on a Honda does not bother me) and I will get it thoroughly checked out by The Marine garage before purchasing. My apology for this being so long, but I had to express my gratitude and admiration for the Marine Corps garage. Thanks for reading.Dave Clarke. Nice selection of guns.....minus the magazines!!!!! Staff knowledgeable/friendly
Good store, a bit smaller than the next right down the street. And the mcx tends not to have much stuff on sale as the nex does, liquor included. But it is conveniently close to alot of military housing if your not looking to drive further away to the nex. I used to go here all the time back when I lived in military housing. But price wise, the nex is better.
Great place to buy guns and ammo... Camp Allen shooting range only minutes away ⚔️
Not a full size MCX but it has a good selection of retail ites
Small and expensive. However, when it comes to guns, this place cannot be beat. Also, there is a cool little coffee lounge. If you need something other than guns, drive the extra five minutes to the exchange across from NS Norfolk.
I love that they uphold uniform standards in the store, as well as requiring hats to be off.USMC.
It has all your Marine needs
MCX is a good place to buy a gun or rifle not so crowded because you have to be military to purchase.
Limitations on the items I was looking for with everything going on.
Nice place for a quick grab. Lots of things you dont find at a mini-exchange plus hot food options, a gun shop, and barber!
Fantastic place to shop if your a MARINE like myself....
Every time I come here its always clean and the staff is helpful and friendly.......
The uniform section is as big as the candy aisle. I couldnt even get medium regular utility uniform, its the most common size. Its pathetic that you have more TV brands for sale than the most needed size pants for the fall/winter uniform..
The MCX travel office is the best and one stop travel agency around
Love this store just like the military version of Walmart or 7 eleven
Great selection for a small MCX. More than a 7 Day store, it has a mix of everything from clothes to food and electronics. Youll be able to find most of your short notice needs without having to head down to the main NEX.
Definitely has what you need for a quick stop. Gun selection is pretty good.
The barber shop is the best Joy was great and the line moved fast
Quick and cheaper than most gas stations, only downfall, its suppose to be for military and members with valid CAC id. Ive never seen them check for ID cards though, so......lol
I come here to buy my beer and liquor very fair price.
Good store for the size of it and being so close to a major exchange.
Loved this store with a passion. Thanks to the management, you guys are awesome.
Good spot for people authorized to use the military exchange stores.
Is small but is a decent MCX. Keep in mind that this is a Navy base.
Its an alright place, they have really really great discount items, i got a pencil box for 20 cents once, and burts bees lotion for 1 dollar. My only complaint is that the young female emplyees are very rude and often aske me to take the items out of the basket for them, or put the basket back by the door for them. I would be more understanding if it was just one, who might have a back problem, but 5 different gils have asked me to do this.
No line for haircutt
Midsize MCX that has most things you could want, from Alcohol to baby wipes. I wish the people at the NEX around here were as nice as the MCX.
Great exchange. Friendly workers
Conveniently near our home. little store for last minute needs.
Nice gun selection for their prices
Poor clothing selection; I guess this is a sattelit exchange with more guns and alcohol than much else. We travel to Quantico when we want to shop. They could at least have current Marine Corps Times.
Nice people great prices
Gas price was .05¢ / gal higher than Wawa.
My favorite exchange. Clean and helpful.
The prices are not as good as the NEX, but the best barber in Norfolk for military haircuts.
It smells like cologne everywhere, what are they hiding?
Great place to shop
I am not military. So I cant shop. Prices are low for my friends that can shop there.
Better opinion. Ask a Marine
