A wonderfully designed coffee shop where you can tell how much love and experience has gone into each and every cup. They aim to create exceptional coffee experiences by giving diverse flavors and smells. It relaxes and soothes my mind, which is why I appreciate it so much. If you enjoy reading novels, they have pocketbooks. Fantastic assistance!
So this little cafe is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. They make an outstanding latte and the service is great. They are a true local spot the place has a great casual vibe. Whether you want to grab a quick coffee to walk the village or just want to sit and people watch, i enthusiastically recommend Herst!
The coffee and meals at this coffee shop were both excellent and filling. Furthermore, the environment was clean, cozy, and smelt fantastic. Even the server who served my food was kind and nice at the moment. Finally, I had a wonderful experience when I visited your store. Strongly suggested!
Thumbs up to this coffee shop! They accommodated my inquiries quickly as expected. The whole day I spend at this place. I can say that they really get my trust. Great service and pricing! The awesome ambiance was a huge help for me to relax. Such a wonderful place to do homework and do the jobs done. Recommended!
Coffee is my stress reliever! A week ago, I went to this coffee shop for the reason that I wanted to release my stress. I like the ambiance of the place because it was so peaceful and cozy. Their staves are all friendly and courteous. I thanked them for the wonderful service. Highly recommended to all of my friends!
What makes this foofoo coffee shop stand out is its pretty location. I enjoyed getting there early, on a weekday morning, window shopping and walking the nearby docks with my cold brew. The coffee was not particularly outstanding among the coffee houses Ive frequented, but it was decent and I would get it again. The pastry offerings looked very tempting and above average. If you want to spend a leisurely hour sipping your coffee, this is a good spot.
We have never been to this town before and were looking for somewhere to get a snack and coffee and cake. This coffee shop looked inviting ( and they did toasties, which is always a bonus in my book!) There was plenty of choice on the menu, and the servers are very friendly, and helpful. The prices were also incredibly reasonable.
This position is ideal! I adore the tranquility of the setting and the place itself. This is the perfect place to be if you want to spend some quiet time alone while working or if you want to spend some time catching up with your friends. The entire team is friendly and fun. They knew exactly what they wanted to do and how to do it properly. Thank you so much!
Nice, brand new coffee shop. Flavorful well-done espresso macchiato, right temperature, body, and crema thickness. They could do better on their pastries, e.g., having an oven to warm up croissants; Who likes fluffy croissants?!
The staff were rather surly and not wearing masks. One of them was coughing several times while making the drinks, so I didn’t want to drink it. Went nearby to Blue Bottle Cafe, much better experience.
This was my first visit to Hearst Coffee Roasters and it did not disappoint. My husband got the brewed coffee which had good flavor over other local coffee. I got the mocha with an extra shot of espresso. Perfectly blended the flavors, not watery, and hands down the best mocha Ive had in Newport. The reason it was so good was it wasnt all sugary and you could really taste the rich chocolatey flavor. This is definitely our new coffee spot.
Local vibe. Beautiful interiors. Lively location. Good coffee. Nice staff.
Currently transitioning name to HERST. Location is incredible and vibe is super inviting. Right on the corner. Locally roasting in house. Baristas are super friendly and knowledgeable. Pastries were fantastic. Latte and Americano were on point. Go out of your way to stop here. Grab a coffee to sit and then another to go for a walk... the local area is beautiful and right by the water.
Excellent place, location & customer service, love the chai late
This coffee shop had the best vanilla latte I have ever had. Not too sweet like starbucks and they have both almond and oat milk substitutes which was nice for our group. Staff was both hilarious and welcoming. All around great coffee shop. You can tell its a craft here.
Exceptional!! This is the best cappuccino Ive ever had and continue to enjoy every Saturday morning and sometimes twice on Saturdays. They are so much richer, more flavorful, creamy and delicious. Youll never want to go anywhere else ever again. I live in Irvine, and it is worth the 20 minute drive.
Lovely humans working here. Plus, fantastic coffee and croissant. ✌🏻
Their coffee is made with the best local coffee beans in the city and is extremely aromatic and wonderful.
Very tasty iced vanilla oatmilk latte. Bathroom was closed when we were here.
Delicious coffee, attentive and kind staff, lots of seating options - what else do you need?
I really dig this spot. As far as specialty coffee is concerned, its slim pickings in Newport Beach. Honor is a great addition to the scene and really serves some great espresso. The menu is simple, but the shop is so small and intimate, you can often engage directly with the barista and dial in your preferences. The espresso I tried was a blend of java, Ethiopian and central American beans. I have to admit it was one of the most balanced espressos I have tried. Their espresso machine is the Lamborghini of beasts (Slayer is the maker). Ive never tried their baked goods, but they always look good.Felipe is a cool dude behind the bar. Super nice guy, he actually invited me back behind the bar to watch the shots being pulled and told me a little bit about the machine. Would recommend this spot to anyone.
HIGHLY recommended 🙋🏽🙋🏽🙋🏽The (oatmilk) Spanish Latté was OUTSTANDINGGG... not-to-sweet to my tastebuds, and perfectly spiced. Appreciated also that the childrens temperature I requested was ideal as well 💯🗽🎯🏆Friendly, cheerful, professional staff, great playlist and gorgeous interior design.
Mocha was delicious! Not too sweet and European style
Love the coffee & ambiance. Steps away from the beach!
Really good and fresh coffe💜💜
Chill spot to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee the staff is friendly.
Might just be the best coffee Ive had! Beautiful setting in a beautiful town!
Great coffee, amazing ambiance
Solid spot for coffee and a snack in Lido Village. They roast their beans and we had a nice Ethiopian single origin drip the day we were there. Espresso drinks were also solid if not spectacular (the cappuccino needed a bit more body in my opinion). Really cute interior too. Don’t miss the sweet treats (the homemade pop tart was real good)!Update: OMG the chai is ridiculous here. They make it from scratch so it’s not always available but when it is definitely don’t miss it.
Legit coffee shop. Very good coffee and excellent atmosphere.
Delicious coffee and they had a gluten free muffin that was pretty amazing!
Very friendly staff, yummy coffee, and a nice location.
I would visit this place regularly whenever I was working in Newport Beach. It was so worth it!
Great Matcha Latte. Wish they had herbal lattes!
The places atmosphere is good. The staff are friendly and supportive. We also have comfortable chairs. The place is also very dry, great customer service. I was here a couple of times and wasnt disappointed.
Great coffee and friendly baristas
Amazing third wave coffee! We had cappuccinos and they were great! Their hot chocolate was amazing! And their pastries super yummy! Our daughter decided to sit down in this room that looked like someone’s cozy living room. She had lots of fun and we did too!
What a cute space. Really enjoyed my oat milk flat white
Great little coffee shop. It was surprisingly very delicious and definitely worth coming down to check out. Will be coming back
The coffee is average to me but I do like the bakery here.
Friendly staff. Coffee was good. Small but was my fault for not knowing. 4 oz. I should have specified.
Great. Coffee better and the lady Athena. Lol
The coffee hear is exceptionally good! No matter what you get, youre gonna like it. Its also just a really cool place to chill if you need some creative vibes
Great coffee, a bit pricy though
Good coffee good service
I’m just now enjoying a really terrific cortado from my first visit to Herst. I also got a latte for my Dad who tells me it’s also excellent. Proprietors appear to be serious coffee people who roast their own on premises. The roasting style of their espresso (at least, the beans they were pulling shots with today) is a bit lighter and brighter than chains such as Peet’s; so it’s much more like the espresso I’ve had on trips to Spain, Italy and the better shops in the UK. I like the darker espresso, too, but this was really great. Coffee junkie that I am, I usually like to have my coffee in a ceramic cup at the shop, but due to COVID restrictions, the shop didn’t have inside seating, just outside. But it’s located in Lido Village on a nice little brick-paved street, so it’s a pretty nice spot to take a coffee break. I saw they had a selection of pastries that looked good, but didn’t try any yet ... just mentioning in case you’re wondering. It’s a nice looking shop, understated, natural woods, so once indoor seating returns, it’ll be nice to sit inside.
Been there few times. Love the coffee, staff, and atmosphere. They offer outdoor seating. Great location at the village. My only complaint is that pastries should be covered because there were bugs around them last time!!!
After reading the other positive reviews, I was pretty disappointed with my experience. It took far too long to take my order - only two people were working - and my resulting drink was a letdown.More specifically, my Gibraltar was over-extracted and the milk foamy enough to top a traditional cappuccino. I was really hoping to get at least a pretty good shot from their Slayer (espresso machine) but Im not sure its worth another visit to try again.
Liked very much
Homey atmosphere. The fireplace is a nice touch. Good coffees. Needs a little more flavor variety.
There is a gentleman that works here that made my first experience super uncomfortable 😣. I don’t usually order lattes and had no idea what came in it. He looked at me as if I was dumb, embarrassed me in front of other customers and his own coworkers. Long story short, he’s extremely unprofessional and don’t think I will be going back !
I enjoyed my visit to Honor Coffee Roasters. The staff was friendly and the prices were reasonable. I thought the food was good.
Really enjoyed it here. It’s a really cute little coffee shop, a little hard to find when driving since it’s down a small street but there’s a parking lot and street parking just across the street. Inside the decor is pretty minimalist. They have one large table and a couple of small tables for two. It was relatively empty with customers coming in and out from time to time.I was studying there for a few hours with friends and it was a pretty good study space, with the volume being pretty low for most of the time. They don’t have WiFi but they should have it soon.As for the coffee, I got the vanilla latte and I really liked it. It’s on the sweeter side which I enjoyed.Overall, I’d definitely come back, both to study or just for a coffee date with friends.
Visiting from up north and was in search of a really great cup of coffee - found it here! Espresso beverages and croissants also look fantastic, friendly staff.
Beautiful location. Great selection of coffee even during the soft opening. The pastries looked phenomenal! Staff was friendly and personable. Cant wait to come back.
Next level coffee in a cozy atmosphere.
They have outside seats and pet friendly!
From the cloudy Saturday Jazz to the delicious coffee and pastry Honor completes your morning in true continental fashion. Sitting at their lovely outdoor tables or in the soothing setting of their cafe it is an experience to be taken in sip by sip.
Beautiful location, very helpful staff - however I saw several dead cockroaches in their front area, and drank one with my latte :(
Lovely place. Great coffee great service. When for Japanese drip coffee which they no longer make.🙁but the coffee and place was cool.
I love their coffee. Very friendly staff
Good coffee, great location to go for a dockside walk.
Good mochas and pastries. TRY THE VEGAN CHOCOLATE CAKE IT IS SO GOOD and that is coming from a non-vegan chocoholic. Prices are a little high but it is worth it.
Best authentic cappuccino I the area. Yummy treats
Very nice baristas. Good simple coffee. Very comfy vibe!
The coffee here is made with care. They have made this place very relaxing and the decor is clean, simple and beautiful. The coffee was simple and strong and hand-off. Loved this location too.
I like this place. I really like the way the store sits with its views, making new port feel like a little village. Its a cool place dont mind the 3*, its impossible for a coffee joint to get a 5* from me. I have issued 2 of them
Best service and balanced coffee.
This place has tasty Spanish lattes. 🙂
Good coffee. Not too friendly for to-go options. There wasnt a fitting lid for my gibraltar to-go. Another coffee wasnt available for taking to-go either.
I visited this shop on a quiet afternoon, and it was great. Nice staff, very clean and modern vibe, and great coffee. Minimalist coffee house design meets trendy Newport Beach.
The most delicious Chai! Perfectly blended fresh spices...it is divine😍
Great coffee and pastries. A little on the pricey side perhaps, but the quality is good and the location is great
Great environment, lots of chairs and plugs. Pourover was amazing, also had a vegan cinnamon roll from Cafe Gratitude. They have siphon and Japanese cold drip machines coming soon, cant wait to go back and try those. The Lido area is going through a really cool remodel, so it will probably be very busy soon. I recommend parking out on the metered street nearby, its limited to 2hr, but thats plenty.
