Nice place good but i need to understand different dialect
A down neck Newark staple. Its been some time since I visited, but I vividly remember this place from my childhood.
This place will surprise you. the service was very helpful and observant. it has a good interior.
I like it here, great food & service. i can see why they have a lot of great reviews.
Save any expectations for the decor for the food instead - its absolutely worth it. Their Portuguese baked goods are made perfectly and one of the best in a neighborhood full of them: their dough fresh, moist, densely rich, and delicious. Throw in one of their perfectly made custard pies and even better shrimp empanada, and you wont regret it
Being a Customer for 20 years!! And everything is unbelievable delicious. Since I moved to another state, I still drive 4h to only go buy Empanadas here and take it to my friends because they have never try something this good!
Do not leave if its busy, it is worth it. the staff was very kind and attentive. bring your appetite because portions are large.
This place deserves every 5-star review it gets. The empanadas are famous for a reason--they are GOOD. Dont miss out. If youre around, get food from here. CASH ONLY though, be prepared or youll have to use the little ATM and pay the fees.
This place is awesome. The kitchen is authentic and theres plenty of choices to eat for breakfast or lunch or just some sweets/desserts.The owner was a wholesome and friendly person who introduced us to all of his goods he is selling. We drank coffee and tried eating some empanadas as well as a Butterroll and some omelette, which were super tasty.I definitely recommend this place!
The food is wonderful and beautifully presented. A great place to practice your Spanish and Portuguese as both the servers and customers will patiently listen to you destroy their language, then encouragingly offer you corrections in pronunciation and grammar...lol
Great place for lunch at reasonable prices.Rissois are great but overpriced
Small place with an awesome service. Tasty, freshly made food!
My mechanic shop is down the street, but this lace is the spot! From a toasted bread with butter and coffee to a full dinner and lunch cuisine, awesome food great service! Come check them out best in town hands down !!!!!!
This is THEEE best bakery in Newark...They make everything on location and the quality of food is impeccable. I would not go anywhere else for an empanada. They open early which is great... they get busy quickly but the employees move quickly to help everyone. If you have any questions the Manager is always there to help
Love this place. Great family place. Try the in house cakes! Yummylicious
This sonhos reminds me of Choux pastry, deep fried rather than baked like Cream Puff, so it is more moist but still light, and very good! 2 of us had 1 each but could not resist one moreIt was Saturday morning, close to noon, local people having their breakfast, its small but nice local place! Will be back for more sonhos and try other things on the menu.
Had a great omelette sandwich there! All fresh! The baked stuff looked beautiful.
Best place to good eat with the family I recommend this for you
Awesome food for breakfast and lunch. Its a Ironbound iconic bakery. Serving the working crowd for a very long time.
The best coffee in town. The only thing I can complain is that it gets overcrowded and they get extremely busy.... Well of course itll get busy because its the best in town!!!
Hands down one of the best bakery’s I’ve been too!
Very good coffee, fabulous Portuguese bakery goods, varied sandwich menu, close to Newark airport. Im coming back!
Great for a light lunch or for some Portuguese specialties that you can take home as takeout. Code fish cakes books de bacalhau shrimp cakes risois de camarao ptaniscas ; the best place in the USA for this specialties.

Old school memories. Love this place.
Great coffee, staff and real good lunch specials.
Great store for lunch and breakfast and great bakery products
Great coffee plus Latin American pastries.
Rude to tourists - coffee was watery. Charged us for toasting the bread
There was so much in organization.
Good coffee, good pastries
I ordered two hot chocolates one tart and a ham and cheese sandwich . The sandwich was awful I ordered it I said yellow American cheese and the lady puts monster cheese and I told her is that yellow American cheese and instead she puts white I was fed up I didnt say nothing else not only that the flavor of the sandwich was so plain she didnt add salt and vinegar like I asked her too and I ask for tomato and lettuce the lettuce was bigger than the size of the sandwich there was more lettuce than ham and cheese bakery is fine but a ham and cheese sandwich is awful.
