I love this wine shop truly! All of my favorite wines are okay here! Im quite happy to have been here for a short time. On one visit, I was able to sample my favorite wines. Terrific support and pricing! I am highly impressed by how they treated the operation professionally and without any problems at all. Surely Ill come back! Higher! Superior!

I’ve been coming to this place for years, I have one of the wine tasting cards. Today on the way to meet a friend a dinner, I stopped by. Short on time, I went to the information counter and asked if there was any Portuguese Green wine available. I was met with such a passive aggressive condescending tone from the girl behind the counter. She hadn’t heard of it. We walked over to the Portugal section and low and behold “Vino Verde”— which I pointed out. Clearly embarrassed, she says to me, “I’ve heard of Vino Verde, not Portuguese green wine.” She was still snotty, and unapologetically unhelpful. I looked at her and said, “Yeah, I’m gonna go, you seem to be having a bad day.” She murmured a half-hearted, “Sorry”. I used to like this shop. Ive been there for tastings over the years, and never have I dealt with such unprofessionalism. It seemed as if this uneducated girl wanted to shame me for knowing something she clearly didn’t. I suggest someone speak to her about customer service and the golden rule. Currently walking down to Astor for my wine.

Our favorite wine shop in the neighborhood and the tasting room. All their wines come from this town, and theyre always super helpful in picking out a great bottle of wine. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. They were both very educated about wines, too. The enormous wine collection was remarkable.

This cute and elegant wine shop in this area is a go-to shop for my wine needs. I love their collection of wines. They had a huge range of wines that you choose. Also, every Sunday they sampling their produce wine in which is a must-try. This place has a perfect ambiance. You could also chill and grab a glass of wine.

We found this wine shop and I tasted a couple of wines, I just say WOW. Due to limited luggage, I bought and sent an assorted box to my home address. The delivery was really quick. The best wine I have ever tasted! We all liked it so much! Good service!

Union Square Wines is an excellent wine shop staffed by knowledgeable and usually cordial clerks. Visiting the shop on Sunday, April 18th, revealed (understandably) depleted stock, including many oft carried wines. The Pomponette rosé is winning.

Union Square Wine is definitely my favorite wine shop in NYC. They have a huge selection of really good wines and the staff is really helpful. I stopped in yesterday for a couple bottles that I needed for a picnic and the staff member that helped me was really helpful. They carry wines from Domaine Albert Boxler in Alsace, which I really like and the staff that helped me also recommended a Cabernet Franc from Chinon in Loire, which ended up being really spectacular. Shopping here is a pleasure and I look forward to my next visit!

Any time theres a special event that needs wine, I still go to this wine store. They do have nice wines, and the price is very affordable, too! Im so happy I found out about this wine store!

Wow! I Stopped by this Wine Shoppe while visiting Union Square! The Selection is Extensive and Affordable! Union Square Wine has Wines from Europe and Both North/South America! I picked a Wine from Spain that was $7.00!! It was Fruity and Dry. Perfect!! I Wish this Wine Shoppe was in my Neighborhood!!

This is my favorite wine & liquor shop hands down. I drink inexpensive craft stuff because I like to drink and I dont have infinite dollars. The staff here is always able to point me in the direction of unbelievably good up-and-coming brands. Most places get a little snobby when you come in looking for a good wine under 20 bucks (or liquor under 30). Never these guys.

Selection is amazing. Every time I go, theres some kind of alcohol tasting up at the front. Last time, it was small batch whiskey, and they were selling bottles signed by the brewer, which was cool. Plus, they have a store dog. The staff is also very good at giving recommendations, if you can tell them what kind of flavor profile youre looking for. One of the few places Ive seen that carries both Japanese plum wine and mead.

Great wine shop with an ever changing selection of wines. They often have 30% off case sales (buy 12 bottles of still wine and get 30% off). Its a deal you cant refuse. They also offer free delivery in Manhattan.

Good selection of wine and ciders which is clearly their specialty. Smaller but well-curated selection of spirits. Extra-friendly staff and especially the manager was very polite and helpful.Occasional events in a dedicated backspace.

One of the female cashiers was extremely rude to me. I wanted to purchase a bottle of rosé for my mother but the cashier wouldn’t sell me the bottle, simply because my friend did not have her ID with her even though I (the purchaser) did. Even when my friend offered to leave the store, the cashier still wouldn’t look at my ID. Unless she’s a police offer, there was no reason for her to make assumptions about who the bottle was for. Her job is to sell me, the purchaser, who had a valid New York State ID, a bottle of rosé. I have never had a problem like this before. Will most likely not come back unless someone else is working there.

Friendly and knowledgable staff. Impressive wine selection, including NY wines. The sake fridge is unlit to protect the quality. They know their stuff! Looking forward to attending an event or tasting at their huge room in the back.

RUDE ATTITUDE TO CUSTOMERS. Ive got a delivery of wine and sake from this place a few times. They dont even bother delivering the drink up stairs. They leave it with the door man. Gave them a call and they always give me ridiculous excuses. (ex. doorman stopped them, door man said i wasnt at home) Every single time I talk to the doorman and it turns out the delivery guy was lying. Very rude attitude over the phone. Friendly, knowledgeable staff who are more than willing to provide a recommendation. The person I spoke with about Whiskey gave me not only a couple options, but the history behind a couple of the distilleries. It definitely added to the experience to know a little bit of the story and I appreciated the staff member approaching me despite the hectic time of day.

Wines are fine. About 50% markup which is cheap. But customer service is beyond horrendous. I come grab my bottles and go without a word. Recommend earplugs too if youre easily offended.

Be careful when youre paying with credit card. I have been charged double and triple (!) the amount I was supposed to pay. After several calls with the clerk in charge I have finally been partially refunded... If I am lucky enough - and I guess it will take several annoying calls - someday I will getting the remaining balance back...

This is probably my favorite store for wine shopping in New York City. They have an amazing selection from all over the world, friendly and helpful staff, and reasonable prices. If ever in need for something usual or unique, its worth stopping by this store.

Floor staff are nice and helpful but checkout ladies are consistently rude. Double check prices at checkout, Ive been overcharged multiple times. Ive never had a sale item or tasting event item rung up with the correct price. After the Nth time of this, Im never going back.

Good wine store, a bit expensive, but very good selection and very helpful staff. Go here at last minute often to pick up wines. Not as big lines as Trader Joes wine store which is less expensive, but uber crowded at times.

Whoa! Almost purchased from here. Saw the staff being rude to an Asian person in store. Terrible customer service. They strike me as people who would appreciate great customer service yet do not understand the intricacies of how that works. Wine was not too badly priced but does not warrant a person being treated that way. Shame on you and your company.

Convenient location. There is a wide variety of wines and other spirits tp choose from and they source from several different countries / makers. The staff is friendly and helpful (needed to ask them where something was because I couldnt figure out their organization for a moment).I have the impression that their prices reflect their location. I was there specifically to buy Japanese shochu and it was fairly price. I recommend checking it out if youre in the area and want to get your shochu fix.

I really love that theres a wine shop in Union Square that isnt as jam packed as TJs. The staff has lead me to some really lovely bottles of wine, whether as gifts or for myself. While the prices can be a bit high, they have some great bottles for $15 and under.

While pricier than Trader Joes Wine Shop which is just around the corner, Union Square Wines still has a great selection of wines and liquers, and the staff is knowledgeable and helpful. They constantly have great free tastings here, too (which softens the blow of the prices, I suppose!).

Lots of Fancy wine and Booze. But over priced and they dont carry all the basic liqours. If you want a big handle of some obscure rye, or a mezcal you can brag about then come here with your cash out. But if you want to make some jungle juice on a budget. go to MLK liquors down the street.
