One would think that with all of the wine shops in midtown east that Sussex would make an effort. They do not. Too many better nearby options to shop at Sussex. Go elsewhere.

After a week of placing my order and contacting them twice I finally received an email that my order was declined for insufficient stock on handNot even an apology was made

I agree with other posts about the prices and the impossible doors. You always see a new counter person each time you go- and they’re not related!That said it’s convenient for the area since there isn’t much after working hours. They could do a loyalty card to remember long time customers

Not a friendly staff. The only female there is on of the nastiest people i have ever met. The store is poorly lit. I was there with my friend and that woman gave my friend the dirtiest look and he told that she always has done that to him I will never go back to that store.

Its convenient. Thats it. Lower prices elsewhere. Very high employee turnover. Different people every week. Difficult to get recognition as a loyal customer with such a revolving door. Speaking of doors, the 2 doors to the store are almost impossible to open.

Poor selection and not friendly atmosphere

Massive design flaws on this companies online ordering policy. I placed two orders going through a pretty cumbersome set up process compared to other websites. Just to receive a text that the item was out of stock. Wouldnt it make more sense to just label item out of stock on website instead of making the customer, enter all of their data and set up credit cards.

Currently my favourite wine store in New York, because of the well considered service.I walked in on a Monday night, needing help with a difficult wine pairing (red wine to go with Butter Chicken !?!). The gentleman at the counter was delighted to help, and offered several options at several price points. Unlike many other stores I have visited, he did not just point out one wine at the top end of my budget, but rather he listened, and then gave me several options including some much cheaper than my budget. I was blown away.He also explained why he had suggested these wines, and explained which one would be better for 15 minutes in the fridge, or 15 minutes to breathe before drinking, and encouraged me to come back and let him know if I ultimately agreed with his recommendation.So many stores seem determined to upsell expensive wine, or make me feel bad that I only want to spend $30/20/15 that day, that this store was a breath of fresh air. I will be back.PS, the pairing was spot on!

You need to expand your delivery area. I tried postmates and your app and couldn’t get my drinkworks pods delivered. (82nd and York)

5 min walk from Westin Grand Central (E42nd 2nd ave), great range all budgets and the staff are the best - $5 to stupid money, but $5 bottle was better than same value at home in UK. Enjoy.

Dont bother going here if you are an african american and not in a suit. I had to pick up 2 bottles of wine and while i am browsing the stock lady comes and starts to stock the wine right next to my leg. Then on top of that when i go to pay the guy at the register asks me for ID. I am 37 years old and do not look at all under 21. I show him my drivers license with my picture and age on it and he asks me to take it out he wants to see. I actually work right next door to this place so to experience this racism because I am dressed down today is unacceptable. I will not EVER go to this store again. Its 2016 and it is sad that some people still think with this racist mindstate.
