Illume is the best!! I brought an elderly neighbors lamp in for repair. Ron personally did the repair while I waited. The pricing was excellent and the workmanship outstanding. The staff is experienced and friendly. The lampshade showroom is outstanding. This is your go-to place for lamp repairs and exquisite shades!

Rude attitude. Called to inquire about in-house lamp checkup, was told to bring the lamp over (it’s a 60*84 giant one piece floor lamp!). As I explained how big the lamp was and asked how people usually bring such large lamps over. The guy on the call was impatient and cut my off saying call an Uber, you know it best. Very disappointed!

Always friendly and helpful. Luca and their service department are lifesavers. Cant recommend Illume highly enough.

I took my French porcelain lamp here, to have the switch replaced. Took all of 20 minutes. People that work here, couldn’t have been nicer and more accommodating. Also, the most fabulous lampshades I have ever seen! Lovely experience

I was impressed by the stylishness and cleanliness of the shop. The owner, Ron, immediately asked me if I needed help and came to assist me as soon as he finished with the folks he was helping. I needed a repair on a bedroom lamp. The switch was stripped and he offered to do it while I was waited. It took Ron just a few minutes to fix my lamp for a very reasonable charge and I was on my way after some amiable small talk with Ron and Nicole.

Luckily the subway can get me anywhere in NYC. I took my lamp in to get it fixed. Lovely service, and such a pleasure. It also ended up costing less than he had estimated over the phone. Now I can take in the matching lamp (the problem with not having a car!)

This place is beyond fantastic! The man who does the repairs (Luca) is incredibly knowledgeable and can handle any problem. I have a pari of unique complex lights from Turkey which have had ongoing problems over the years (mostly due to the original, cheap/rushed wiring). The last time one went out, I brought it to Luca for repair. Not only did he fix it in under five minutes while I was in his workshop, he took the time to show me the problem, how it arose, and insisted on replacing all the bulbs to be sure the lamp worked fully before letting me leave. Then, due to the simplicity of the problem, he refused to charge me! In the past, the exact same problem arose on the paired light, and I was charged $50 for the repair, after leaving the light in the shop for several days. I really cant say enough nice things about him and the work he did. I will be using this store for all of my future lighting needs, referring everyone I know, and spreading the word. Highly recommended!!
