Terrible place. Pork comes half fat (I mean with the skin of the animal) hidden underneath the stew pieces. The same with chicken thighs - the skin is pilled and placed underneath the thigh. So you actually buy about 40% of the meat in pure fat without knowing. The fat content of course is not labeled. So it is a surprise when you start cooking and throw away almost half of the meat you purchased.Just terrible. I would rate this food market negative 5 stars if that was an option.
Staff always super pleasant, the whole store was rearranged during and after the 1st confinement in addition, it must have taken a lot of work: there are the prices on the shelves for each item, everything is clean, tidy, well done for work!
Excellent service, friendly staff and large selection of groceries. They also have a prepared food section that everyone should try. The manager, Mr. Firmin is the best. He is always on the floor helping around. Please check this supermarket out. You will not regret it.
We can find everything we want over there. Great selection of produce, groceries. The only problem is I dont understand Spanish and the employees only speak Spanish so sometimes its hard for me to know the location of things. I guess they should know English as well so that they can help everyone.
Shop fair sells great food its easy kind like Gristedes supermarket
Interesting DR (Dominican Republic, I suppose) up to date supermarket version of your classic bodega. Not sure if I like it better than these mom and pop type stores that have some real people vibe. The offerings were standard fare as in all similar supermarkets. No stopping progress I suppose, but I wish for some reincarnation of the forever ailing Fairways. My 2 cents. France, and even Paris for that matter are so much more civilized than even /especially our moneyed but clueless 2 percenters.Admittedly the friendly and smiling cashier was the best experience ever.Even though she was in the middle of setting up her cash register, she stopped and graciously weighed the papaya I had been coveting.
Good location and great variety of hot food!
All latino foods can be found, good prices.
Great customer service, just pay attention at the check out process... Sometimes the register prices dont match, or havent been updated in the scammers
SHOPPING WAS VERY GOOD FOUND ALOT OF THINGS THAT I NEED
This supermarket is the WORST! Their completely unorganized and the cashiers won’t even acknowledge you if your standing in line unless you are HISPANIC. Also when cashing out the cashiers don’t even ask if you want bags and expect you to ask prior closing out the transaction (this should be an requirement in their job description). Also did I forget to mention, I almost got into a brawl with another customer about skipping the “line” which is false.....Your cashiers need to learn to engage with customers and contact managers when unable to resolve situations. I have 10+ years of hospitality management experience & this place is just ghetto. DO NOT SHOP HERE .. stick to superfood town 1 block down.
Been coming here since I was a Kid. Recommended for those that move into the neighborhood for deals and price cuts
It ok I dont have any complaints! They have almost everything there! Go vk it!
Things are more expensive, every time a go back
Good prices on produce and many items.
Shop Fair is fairly new, its clean, beautiful & fresh produce. Cashiers very curious, my favorite supermarket.
Very good prices. Fresh fruit and veggies.
Freaks, creeps and weirdos frequent this place. If youre going to spend money here yes caution. Mist of the cashiers dont speak English.
Their produce section is Amazing
THIS SUPERMARKET IS THE BEST OF NEW YORK CITY..!!
Clean. Nice selection. Decent prices. Open late. Staff is courteous. 👍
Wonderfull,we forget in the cashier a bag and a worker go outside and call us to return the bag mi wife and me forguet
Great pricing.
A bit too pricy
Im sadden to have seen this place changed completely. Not the place I so enjoyed shopping by from time to time jus to browse & wud come out w a bag or.two!!
This supermarket not very well organized in fact the fruit and vegetables are rotten and they never bother to put labels on the vegetables to make it more easier to know which one to buy like the parsley for example the be confusing it with the recaito and it is also ridiculous the way they be having people in line waiting and the people in the cash register be doing their jobs very slowly and you can never tell which line to go to wait at and no be doing social distancing either everyone be getting too close to each other and no one be having their mask on and i think that cuomo and De Blasio should look into these supermarkets and convenient stores and not just restaurants.
Very good prices
Much needed Market.. Prices are fair.
Cashiers always ring up a higher price on items than labeled. A Dominican man that i Think works there was screaming and yelling in Spanish the whole time i waited on two lines. Very unpleasant. The purple potatoes i bought a few days ago quickly started top rot. I only go there because the prices may be less than food town.
This market is understaffed in the checkout section. Theres almost never express service, and it is counterproductive for half the lanes to be closed when youve got customers shopping for the week lining up all the way to the back. There should be at least two automatic check out lanes, if human personnel arent going to be hired.
Good fried chicken cutlets $7 lb.
Loved they have all product that you need fresh meet and fish fresh farms product
It was an amazing experience. They were very kind and understanding. My friend was short $2 and the cashier paid it for her. Thats amazing. Very kind hearted.
I love the butchers here. The fruits and vegetables are fresh and decently priced. You can find some fantastic deals each week in the sales flyers.
New and improved supermarket. It was expanded as of recently and the new deli department and fast service and an overall great experience. Quality of food is beyond superb. I definitely recommend this place to others.
Good food nice price
Poor customer service
Always helpful. Great staff.
Busy never enough cashiers
Excellent and the prices are very good
Theyve done a lot of expansion and renovation over the last few years, and its really a great spot for all your standard grocery items.
Big market, all kind of veriety and brands. From organics to anything else you need.
This is what I call my budget supermarket. I come here to get certain items especially if Im there during times of short lines (best before 3pm.) The produce, meat and deli areas here are areas I visit only out of desperation. So only when theres a thunderstorm out or Im super pressed for time. Aside from those 3 areas, the rest of the food is probably safe. There can be a lot of congestion in the isles or on the line as they only have room for 1 shopping cart to fit easily at a time side by side. They do not accept american express or most credit cards (debit cards welcome.) Do not bring any cut off coupons from anywhere they do not honor them. In my experience if it looks questionable in any way shape or form dont risk it. Definitely have your eyes open for things of a questionable nature here especially on discount items which may not be fresh.
Shop Fair Super market has a nice variety of fruits, vegetables and always had sales on eggs. Prices are pretty good 👍.
Good
Check out is slow, cashiers spend too much time chit chatting.
I’ve been going to this location ever since it was a Bravo Supermarket in the late 90s early 2000s, then Associated Supermarket in the mid 2000s and 2010s - Now as Shop Fair it has improved tremendously. Great Job Guys!!
Excellent supermarket, great people, fine vegetables and everything is very good!
Very welcoming and clean, you can also find everything you need there for cooking.
Cheap..great quality and selections...hands down a great grocery store
Everything you need its there, and good prices
Prices not bad. Need more variety
Great prices and very organized grocery store. Plus they have a deli thats delicious.
Great sandwich grab lunches bag of chips & soda cheap!
Lots of their prices are cheaper than the new (Super Food town of Washington Heights) one block down. Now they even have oven pizza, and they add a small BUFFET in case that you are shopping and want to grab a slice of pizza or something to eat, From the Buffet. Thanks for the water too (Nestle Pure Life gallon $1.49) down the block $2.50, lately they have plenty of it.
The best supermarket on the area. The best fresh and delicious products and service.
Clean store well stocked
This place is pretty cool, they are always making improvements to accommodate customers. A place where you can find everything you’re looking for, the employees are so nice and always willing to help.
Crowded. Over price
Twice Ive gone running to get there before their closing hours and 10 minutes before they wont let you in. If theyre closing 10-15 minutes before then they should change their closing hours to not mislead customers.
Its a nice place. Usually crowded and has a good selection of products
The store had a new renovation and Im surprised every time I walk in! Everyone is so nice there too!
Good have a lot of foods
Very good place well organized
Fast check out and very clean and organized areas.
Good place for yous purchase.
Great store and a lot products they sell and have great service for customers.
Well stock supermarket with good sales
Reasonably Inexpensive! Staff very helpful.
A little pricey but beautiful selections
Has everything necessary. Full on supermarket
Clean and good variety of foods American and Latin.
The have coffee beans in different flavors. OMG.
Good prices free delivery nice people working there
Looks great. Newly renovated.
Very nice and clean
This location has undergone renovations to improve the shoppers experience and add greater selections. The aisle unfortunately are still narrow and get heavily congested. In other words, its a tight squeeze. However, like any renovations, money must be accrued in order to offset the cost of renovations. And this cost is passed on to the consumer in the way of higher prices. The renovations were necessary in order to compete with the mega Super Foodtown which opened up only 2 blocks away. ShopFair still has that latino, neighborhood feel and targets the latino demographic. Whereas Super Foodtown is more high end and is clearly targeting and appeasing the recent gentrification demographic in The Heightz. Due to the gentrification, many smaller, local businesses have had to close their doors. So congrats to ShopFair (formerly known as Associated) for realizing the only way to stay afloat was to make improvements for the gentrification demographic.
Their prices are not the best, and neither is there service. Compare and save by shopping elsewhere, unless you must.
Decent selection although for various single stocked items they are beyond overpriced.
Very disorganized
Has good price and I find what Im looking for.
I went in late on a day where they closed early, didnt get much; but took long to get out. Too much talking with the people.
Ease of finding items is good. Customer service is fair.
Great supermarket...
Very cheap outstanding sales
Very pleasant workers. Price was right.
Great place people are nice
What I dont understand is how rude the workers are, why do they have to stock shelves and have products in the aisles when the store is busy
Nice. Some good sales
Very nice supermarket .has everthing i need
I thoroughly loved the store!!
The staff was friendly and helpful
Small but cost effective
This place is not that bad
Excellent 👌 service
You can find everything
A lot of shady ones come here. Beware and always check the cost at the register. Many staff here are nasty.
Nice place to shop
Got laughed at because I dont speak Spanish
