Amish market has a great selection of prepared foods as well as a salad bar. They also have a pastry counter and everything is delicious! Good raw meat and chicken area. Have gotten helpful tips for preparing.
No time-consuming or confusing order forms here! The man who helped me knew what merchandise was in stock and made sure it got to her doorman. I really, really appreciated the Amish Markets personal touch when I had to send food to my mom after her surgery.
Glad its open today. Its a Muslim holiday, i was craving fishy and my usual go to Halal food cart guy down by the road is celebrating so hes off duty. Yes they do have food available in the evenings. Bummer on the cheesecake, I guess the pastry section closes early. Ill try again some other time. The food may be pricey but to me its worth the money spent because its tasty.
Its still as reliable as ever! Attracting a lot of international and domestic brands, as well as fresh vegetables for healthy dining option. For many years, Ive been a regular at this grocery shop. You should also seek for assistance from the staff, who would gladly assist you. This grocer is still the greatest in the world. It is highly recommended!
Cheaper than the other NYC chains, not a terrible big evil chain, and has lots of great stuff.
Best selection of cooked, prepared foods. Deli (& breakfast) sandwiches are superb, (made fresh)!! Their fruits and vegetables are always fresh. I visit this location almost everyday when in the city. Never disappoints!! Love, love, love everything.
Very clean, lots of variety. An all around beautiful grocery store. Everything super fresh, well presented, and delicious looking.
Fantastic grocery store that stocks pretty much everything you need. Its very vegan friendly as they stock vegan wraps, snacks, tofu, hummus, amazing fruit and veg, plant milks, vegan dairy products etc,. But it also has a great meat counter, cured meats, dairy etc too. Only downside is NYC prices but this isnt their fault.
Love the sandwiches, chicken empanadas, great hot food bar, and delicious soups!
Really good quality and great selection. The prices are a bit high, but thats expected for the area.
Fresh fruits and pre packed foods. Love this market.
Store is packed with everything you may need including fresh produce, organic and gluten free products 😀
This gets five stars because the selection is awesome, the premises are spotless and the food is good quality. The staff is extra helpful too.
Food is great! Fresh and nice.
Nice store, very geared toward lunch crowd and prepared foods. Salad/food bar has gone way downhill since covid-19. Id avoid it. Many basic items are very expensive here, but they do have great imported and specialty items. The produce department is also pretty decent. Overall, its an asset to the neighborhood.
Great food quality. I go there mostly for the buffet.
I got my salad tossed here, one of their options, with lettuce, olives, mushrooms, chicken, jalapeños, feta cheese and Italian dressing. I also got some fruits 😋
Very expensive compared to Morton Williams right off 48th or Trader Joe’s down on 32nd. You would be better off going somewhere else. When it comes to the hot food, it looks good, but I’ve had it twice and have been disappointed twice. Better off going to the deli. Also, somehow my Apple Pay never works here
Strongly recommended! Ive been going to this grocery shop many times now, and these guys really have the best products that are fresh and affordable. This place really has it all, and Im grateful because their staffs are amazing and helpful. I could not ask for more from these guys because they truly are the best!
Selection of good at a reasonable price.
This is the biggest and cleanest supermarket I have ever been to. The place is very peaceful with the right foodstuff you need to make the best dishes. The ease of shopping and choices of product-lines here are just incomparable. I have been to multiple supermarkets and I still choose to shop at this place. Thank you very much!
Great variety of products and good prices
Make sure you hungry when you visit, because there is loads of delicious food to choose from. All sorts of lovely goodies to buy. Suggest you set a few hours aside to allow for a good wander around, because it takes ages to decide what to eat as there is so much choice!
Me and my family just moved into this neighborhood and come across with this store. We definitely love it, great food, respectful team, clean, a lot of options. We just love it!
Amazing selection, friendly people, fair prices. A near full grocery store in mid Town Manhattan
I really liked this store. Reasonable prices. Employees arent particularly friendly (not mean either). Wanted fresh pasta but they only had fresh pumpkin pasta which is weird and not in season. The prices of cheese are cheese but I dont know if they are the real thing...parmeggiano reggiano is very expensive and it was not here and did not really taste like the legit one? These certain specialty crackers are $4 a box which is crazy but this place does not up the price at all because in Chicago, it is the same price so I did not feel gipped like some other people say. I wanted to browse longer but my husband was getting antsy...I would return.
This is a fantastic place! The store produces the best price than the other store in town. They also had food bars that offer a chicken meal, soups, sliders, and fries and they were very tasty! They also had some hard to find items here, as well. Every weekend, I was here doing some groceries for the family.
Great variety a little over priced.
Been going for years. Best olives and imported foods in jars. Huge inventory of delicious fresh food including homemade turkish - middle eastern style salad bar. Salad bar is not open during the virus outbreak. Produce is abundant the deli has what you crave and the fresh meat and fish are FRESH. The bakery has only the finest french style goodies to pair with excellent coffee. See for yourself, you will be returning.....seems fancy while affordable and actually simple and down to earth. Management is the best you ever want to meet and eager to please.
Talk about variety. This was an experience. Will definitely shop here again when Im in the area.
Hi, would have given 5 stars. Lets start that this review is from a transgender Puerto Rican woman. 62 years of age.I am a vegan chef and being new to the neighborhood I decided to stop in. I love grocery stores. Our family owned a nice supermarket in Long Island. I have owned several brick and mortar record stores, also Long Island. I love checking every isle of a new market. The store is warm and inviting. Clean, very well stocked. Excellent and expansive selection. It was amazing. However as soon as I waked in, designer coat, high end make up, two facial masks and cute boots AND carrying a green vegan Lillys bag, two produce men sort of appear quickly. One is sort of in front of the great price of (1.49) fresh brocolli I want to reach. I say excuse me, he chats to the other a few words in Spanish. One of them being roba. Which is the word steal in Spanish.I was dissapointed. The cashier clerk, not friendly. On my way out a woman from behind the counter came out stood by the exit. Maybe I had some Rolex watches in my bag?!This happens often enough. I get it. But its really tired.I will continue to shop here. They have vegan products Big Apple Market does not carry. Nor has Big Apple Market ever racially profiled me.I could continue going to Whole Foods as the prices are cheaper. I am not followed there. Otherwise a very beautiful and lovely store.
Pricy but it is NYC
Great food!!! I work locally and have tried most of the food in the area and this place never lets down. Brick oven pizza is my favorite
Plenty of choice. We decided to visit this place because its comparable to our marketplace. There is a lot of picking in this town, which is for sure.
Bought a drink. Has everything you may need for a day in the City.
Very reasonable prices and theyre cheaper than William Morton which is a few blocks away. Of course they specialize in food products and not household stuff
The men that make the sandwiches are nice and the Sandwiches are good. The Cashiers arent friendly at all.
Too much overpriced, rude cashiers.
Cakes, coffees and baklawas are amazing!!!!!!
Amazing selection of breads and cheese. I just wish they had more organic fruits and veggies.
Great little market.
This place has variety but over the years they’ve lost their touch. Vegetables and produce are still reliable but the olives are not the same- they no longer have taste. The quality of their pre-made/made to order food no longer taste as good. I barely go anymore. I hope they do better.
Nothing Amish about it! In addition to an amazing selection of cheeses, meats and many delicacies, the hot bar has the absolute best cooked salnon in lemon sauce and chicken marsala anywhere!! Very reasonable at 9.99 lb also. Amazing spot, highly recommend
I live in the neighborhood and stop by for one or two items whenever I dont feel like going further out. They carry a few vegetables that I cant find in other markets. Fruits arent always fresh - I picked up two bags of banana once, and they were both partially rotted. Overall they have a good selection of products. However, some products are grossly overpriced (i.e their Fage. Yogurt 35.3 oz is $8.99 vs approx $6 at Whole Foods or Target). This kind of price difference reminds me its probably better off to shop somewhere else.
Great market with fresh produce! The snacks here are also varied. The food counters are a great lunch option if you’re on the go.
Great gourmet market. You can never go wrong with the products they carry. What I really like is their catering service. They are really professional. I love Amish Market. Thanks guys.
They always serves quality food in good price. Everything here is fresh. Veggies, ready made items, and many more. the best neighborhood store near me
Supermarket with hot food buffet. Better drink selection than most.
Had dinner here about a month ago. Friendly workers and nice ambience. Their seasonal Brussels sprouts were the best Brussels sprouts Ive ever had! I also enjoyed their sandwich and cinnamon roll bread pudding! I would come back again.
Amazing market place and great coffee
This place is great... just dont go there for a bagel. Mine was at least a day old. Not acceptable in NYC
Its a nice little grocery store, but I wouldnt make a special trip there. However, if youre in the neighborhood, its worth a visit. They have a good selection of fruits, vegetables, meats, cheese, bread, pastries, and prepared foods to-go. Also, everything at the hot/cold bar is discounted after 6:30 p.m. However, dont order anything until theyve put up the discount sign or you pay full price!
Its a very good grocery store! There is a lot of vegetables, fruits, variety of candy, cakes, even Turkish delight. Prices are good too!
Good selection of products. There are also a lot of fresh products to choose from. Of course, you are paying New York prices, which makes it hard to give the store the maximum of 5 stars.
I love this place! I go there every week for lunch, buffet has always fresh food and a great variety of side dishes and meats as well as soups! Shepherds pie was my favorite last Friday!!!
This place is quiet the experience, I didn’t expect it when coming in. There’s so many options and I write this review after having a lot of them. Sandwiches are all Boars head and HUGE definitely worth it. They don’t skimp. Depending what your definition of ‘personal is’ id say the personal pizza is worth the $7. Salads are pretty large too and come in an awkward shape but they’re filling. They also have a coffee / cake section. They steam the Milk in your coffee, don’t get that in many places anymore. Expect to pay ~$15 for lunch which isn’t bad for NYC. it’s also a supermarket so they got a whole ton of meats and canned goods as well.
I love this place--its right around the corner from my apartment and I go in daily....sometimes twice for coffee. The selection of market products is outstanding and there is always something new to choose from. The baked goods live up to the Amish tradition...Im actually on my way over now for a macaroon and large coffee to kick off the day.
Good fresh products
We thought that since this place was down the street, it was merely going to be a convenient place to stock our timeshare fridge. Once we got there to look around, we were very happy with the healthy choices they have to offer. Definitely please with the quality of products they carry, and the prices. I wish they had a location close to our house.
What a great local marketLots of fresh food,Has a brick oven pizza
Have been eating food from the food bar for over 1 yr & 4 months. I never had a bad experience until today. 1st I was told by an employee that the food would be discounted by 30% starting at 6:30pm. Since it was already 6:18 I decided to wait. 6:30 came and I got my container of food. It was now 6:35 and I went to the register where I was told there was no discount until they put up a sign. I asked the manager about it and he said there is no specific time and asked me who told me 6:30. I pointed out the worker that told me and the manager said he wouldnt say that. So basically he was calling me a liar... We are talking about $3... Pretty bad customer service especially for a manager. Thanks to him I will be taking my weekly business to a place where I am not treated poorly. This is NYC, plenty of options.
Traditional foods and grocery for household. I recommend you come and shop for Thanksgiving for the family meal.
This is the least Amish store ever. That said, *it is* a nice grocery store with an extensive on site prepared foods section and cafe bakery. The hot/cold food bar is ideal for a quick tasty meal coupled with the in store seating. Everyone Ive seen working there came across as friendly but not in a fake paid-to-smile sort of way.
Unique and comprehensive boutique for fresh vegetables and fruits, meats etc etc, all you need for your gourmet dinner.
Went here often while doing a work trip. Really fair prices and nice place. Coffee baristas were really friendly too!
Amish Market is well stocked high quality neighborhood market for our midtown area. The produce is fresh with a good selection. They have a food take a way section with food that is fresh and well prepared. The market represents a good combination of price and quality.
Love it, what else can you possibly want or need, healthy, clean and competitive ?
Sort of both love and hate this store. It is a bit small for a Safeway but has most things. The parking lot, at the busy times, too full. At the time between people get off work and dinner time, the lines at the register are very long. The great thing about this Safeway is that it is open 24 hours.
Reasonable prices, and friendly service
Mid-town food options become severely limited on the weekends. Amish market is a good stop if you’re trying to grab a sandwich after getting in to grand central on Saturday/Sunday.
Went to pick up some essentials today. Noticed some non-name brand disinfectant wipes in the window - those wipes in cylindrical container similar to what Clorox makes. Couldn’t find those anywhere in a while so I decided to buy four from here. They were $19.95 each!! Talk about price gouging!
Excellent breakfast & lunch is sooo goood!! Many different salads
We stayed at the Wyndham 45 down the street. I went to the market every morning. Their coffee and muffins started off our New York adventures. Highly recommend this jewel in the urban jungle. Cant wait to visit again.
Excellent place to stop in for a variety of gourmet foods, a quick grocery shop, or good quality, reasonably priced lunch.
Decent gourmet food market and lunch spot in midtown. When I used to eat gluten, the sandwiches and pizzas were really great. I havent eaten them in a while, but I imagine they are still good. The soup selection is decent and the salad bar/ hot food is fresh and delicious.
Excellent fresh produce, good selection, fair prices. All kinds of sandwiches, thin crust pizza, quality though limited butcher. Delicious hot and cold lunch bar.
The Sandwich, pizza, salad are fresh and delicious I recommend .
Great and fresh
Great place to get a bite to eat or do some grocery shopping thats mostly comfort foods
A little on the expensive side but great variety of products and different food options from sushi, salads, brick oven pizza and a buffet full of sophisticated options.
Your average pricey grocer, with a few hidden price treasures. Avocados come in bags of 4 only, for $5. They have fresh ginger for about $1 per big piece. The raw meat in the lower section of the store (hidden behind the hot food trays) was abismal - had only 3 packs of chicken breast for $12/lb and the red meat looked old.Cheeses and olives seemed like great prices for good quality stuff. During weekday lunch, the hot food and salad bar were packed.Checkout in the lower section of the store is painless and quick. At the higher floor, I got stuck in line for the cashier because it lines up adjacent to the build your own salad line. Once I figured out I was standing in the wrong line *not the only person who did this lol* I was out in no time.I do wish theyd offer a rewards program, a phone number for points or specials, anything! They do not accept coupons. I did find a dozen cage-free medium eggs for $3, though.
The bread and some vegetables are not fresh
I have been eating food from the food bar for over 1 yr & 4 months. Thanks to him I will be taking my weekly business to a place where I am not treated poorly. This is NYC, plenty of options. Good riddance Omish Market.
Love Amish market. They have great selection of high quality foods and one can discover new products. Prices are on the higher end.
Variety of food here. I love their 6 dollar mini pizza made fresh as you order.
They always have such a great selection of fruit, vegetables, cheese, pastries, etc. I go specifically for olives, challah bread, cheese, pesto sauce and the occasional cake or pastry. You are sure to be pleased.
I got a very good salad tonight.
Great hot food and salad options very fresh gets busy lunch time but worth the wait
My favorite, better than whole foods.
Nice shop with loads of organic options, not cheap though. Almond milk with turmeric is really tasty.
The sushi seems to be one of their forgotten items, so let me quickly go over it. In the kind of weird lunch land of East Midtown, the take-out sushi at Amish Market is alright. Good sized rolls and pieces, with a pretty decent variety past the standard tuna, salmon and California rolls.Im not a fan of brown rice sushi, but they have a large selection of it My biggest problem is the price. An eight piece salmon roll shouldnt be in the neighborhood of eight bucks. In the end though, theres not enough value. Unless youre one of those crazy people who gets full on very little sushi, or has lots of money to spend, this place may not be for you.
The quality of produce here is much better than other super markets as they seem to care more about food safety and processing. Try the personal sized and customized pizzas that are made to order!
Supermarket with hot food buffet. Better drink selection than most.
It is a pleasure and a exciting event to shop in AmishJuanita is cheerful helpful and lovely to deal with as are Nadja and ZaniaWe find Amish nicer to shop in rather than Fairways or Whole foods 😆
Decent little grocery store, with a hot and cold bar during breakfast and lunch. Good sandwiches at the deli.
Great place for fruits, veggies, dairy products. Delicious cakes. Nice salad bar.
Would have more quality and variety on terms of natural resources, products and imported specially because its a grocery store located in midtown Manhattan.
