We were in the market for a large (2.5-3ct) asscher cut diamond and set up a trip to New York to visit a couple of vendors. We had learned about ID Jewelry from a jewelry website (PriceScope), where they were very highly regarded, so we included them on our list of possibilities. We touched base with each vendor letting them know what we were looking for and what our budget was. IDJ was our last visit and they blew the other vendor away, not only with quality of service from Yekutiel but also available selection that had been hand-picked for us. We were very disappointed in other vendor when we showed up (after seven hours of traveling) to view only three diamonds within our specs even though wed given them over six weeks to keep their eyes out. IDJ had EIGHT diamonds for us to view and called in another one from a nearby store while we were there.Yekutiel was very patient with us and gave us all the time in the world to look at the diamonds, ask questions, etc. He never once made us feel rushed and always made us feel as if we were his one and only priority. He never tried to steer us one way or another and encouraged us to choose with our eyes instead of getting hung up on the specific specs (which was great advice). He was also very transparent in what inventory was available and how their pricing worked. At no time did we worry about if we were getting ripped off or sold something that was actually sub-par.We finally narrowed it down to our top three choices and it was so hard to decide on THE ONE because after almost two hours of starting a diamonds they were beginning to all look the same (even though they were quite different, ranging from 2.7-3.0ct and D-H color!). To help us with our decision he ran ASETs and Sarin reports on those final three so we could see objective information about their measurements, performance, etc.In the end we walked away with a GORGEOUS 3.01ct D/VS1 asscher diamond at a great price. Additionally, because we were going to have a bespoke engagement ring setting made, Yekutiel offered to hang on to the diamond for us and take care of shipping it to the designer when we were ready to keep us from having to get insurance on the stone right away as well as make sure it was safely delivered. It ended up taking us almost four months before we had settled on our ring design and during that time (as you might imagine) I really missed the diamond. Yekutiel was kind enough to send me some snapshots and a video of our diamond to tide me over. THAT is the kind of above and beyond service that is so rarely seen anymore.Whenever we have a need for more diamonds or upscale jewelry we will absolutely be back!

There arent enough positive words to describe the amazing experience I had working with Yekutiel and the team at ID Jewelry. I recently hit a milestone in my career and decided to gift myself with a pair of grown up, investment grade diamond earrings. After stopping in to a few different places on 47th Street and not having positive experiences, I found ID Jewelry thanks to their stellar Yelp reviews and am so glad I did! I messaged Yekutiel on Yelp and heard back from him within 30 minutes and we set up a call. Funnily enough, because I was at work when we spoke and didnt want to be too obvious about what I was talking about, when he asked the range I was looking in I said four to five when talking about GIA certified 1.5-2 ct colorless studs, which he took to mean $400-$500 when I actually meant $4k - $5k. Instead of scoffing at me, he invited me to make an appointment so he show me what he had in my price range (which again, he thought was 10x less than it really was) and help educate me about diamonds.Anyway, the time came for our appointment and the miscommunication was quickly rectified, but I was immediately impressed by his openness and willingness to make an appointment with me even though what he understood to be my request would have been a truly ridiculous one. During our appointment, he really took his time to walk me through what makes a beautiful diamond, and why even if a diamond is colorless, with no visible inclusions, and a GIA rating, the cut can still make it look like frozen spit. He educated me on hearts and arrows and showed me some examples of stones that reflected true investment grade diamonds. After this, we settled on some parameters - H color, SI2, a truly excellent cut, and about 1.5 carats for a budget of around $5000. He didnt have stones in his possession that matched what I was looking for but assured me that he would hunt a pair down that I would love, and would be no less in quality than he would give his own wife.He wound up locating a pair that he thought would be perfect, but he had to get them from another vendor and told me that he wanted to get them and examine them first to make sure they were of the right quality. The next day we spoke on the phone and he let me know that the diamonds were no longer available, but he promised he would continue the hunt - and to my surprise and delight, he found a pair that far surpassed the color benchmark we had set (D color, SI2, 1.46 total ct, ideal cut) that he said he would give me for the same price he originally quoted me at.I picked up the earrings this afternoon and I can not believe how beautiful they were. I seriously cant stop looking at myself in the mirror and dont want to ever take them off! Jade did an amazing job setting them in a basket setting that lies nearly completely flat on the ear so their brilliance and beautiful color is on display. And then he told me that they actually wound up costing him less than he anticipated so he reduced my cost to match.Yeketiel also very kindly fixed my pearl studs (one of which had become unglued from its setting) as well as cleaned my diamond and emerald ring and diamond pendant for no additional charge.The whole experience from top to bottom could not have been better. Not only do I have a pair of absolutely stunning earrings that surpassed all expectations that will hopefully stay in my family for generations, but the level of warmth, knowledge, and passion I experienced as a customer has confirmed that I will never go anywhere else in NYC for my jewelry. I have bought a number of pieces for my wife here over years. Recently we went back in to ask about refurbishing her rings after some wear and tear. We worked with Jade to find a new setting that really brings new life to her ring. The staff here are very professional and helpful. Total Rip-off place! I know a great deal about jewelry and value of stones. They quoted me $1700 to redesign one of my rings. Another jewel er quoted me for the same work $700!!That’s a huuuge difference! So please be aware that you are overpaying for what you are getting!

You cant really judge a jeweler based on how beautiful their product is. Because beauty is in the eye of the beholder, it is fundamentally subjective. Therefore, saying the ring was beautiful, or, my fiance loved the ring, doesnt really help anyone.I give these guys 5/5 based on the following objective criteria:1) Value: As determined by an independent appraiser. I paid X amount. The independent appraiser determined the ring was valued at X(1.4). In other words, my ring was worth 40% on the street over what I paid. Thats pretty amazing.2) Customer service: Something simple that most merchants get wrong: do what you say youll do, by the time you said youd do it. These guys level set from the beginning, and kept the timelines. I appreciated that.Ill be getting my wedding bands from them soon.
