I believed the company when they listed their Christmas tree as the best Douglas fir in the world. It was not. It had gaps, the lighting was clustered in sections and was very sparse in others, and the tree was super expensive. After spending 2 hours to put up and fluff the branches, I had to spend another 1.5 hours to tear down, box up and return. Also spent 15 minutes on hold and another 15 minutes to try to resolve the issue. Wont be purchasing from them again.Just an update on the company. I have been waiting for over a month now since I returned this tree. I finally received a refund for $66 less than I paid. When I inquired why it was “shipping and handling. Also states they would open an inquiry but not sure when Or if I would get a full refund. Unbelievable. Wish I could give negative stars.
I had an issue returning an outdoor table I purchased. I want to compliment Hammacher Schlemmer on their excellent customer service which resolved my issue to my satisfaction. They were responsive and courteous. I. This time of buying on line, it’s reassuring to be able to trust this company’s policies.
My husband found a re-issue of a vintage 1980s video game.Apparently this was the last one available, anywhere, and it was a floor model. My husband was apprehensive about purchasing the floor model. The staff were terrific. Assuaged our fears, told us how the lifetime warranty worked and helped us put this very large item in the back of our SUV on busy E57th St and then we were on our way. My husband has been re-transported back to his youth and we are very pleased with our purchase and the customer service from Hammacher Schlemmer.
The best exclusive merchandise. No store in NYC or Florida cant be compared to this store that has the most exclusive electronics and super duper devices. Most electronics are made in the U.S and not from other countries whose merchandise is made of inferior quality materials!
We purchased a patio table and chairs from Hammacher Schlemmer online and are happy with the quality of the product overall, but one of the chairs arrived with a large crack down one of the legs. Although the response from Hammacher Schlemmers customer service team was prompt, they were unable to provide a convenient solution to replacing the broken chair that didnt involve an additional 3-month backorder and us having to repackage the broken chair into a box of three to ship back to the company after removing one new chair from the set. This was despite there being single chairs for the set available on the Hammacher Schlemmer website ready for immediate shipping. We will not shop at Hammacher Schlemmer in the future due to the poor customer service experience.
If I could give negative stars I would. Feel very taken advantage of. The products themselves were fine. However, I was enrolled in a rewards program for $14.95 EVERY MONTH without even knowing it. I finally saw it today on my credit card and at is being refunded and I am now unenrolled. When I asked the associate how did this happen, I never even signed up for any program. She said I would have had to uncheck the box for free shipping otherwise you are automatically enrolled.Who wouldnt want free shipping! This has been going on since January. So she could refund me for 6 months, but now it has to go to supervisor level to get the other 3 months. I get it is my fault for not checking my credit card statement more thoroughly, I just use it a lot and then pay it off in full every month and never looked for it. Lesson learned. What a scam though, how much money are they getting. I feel like with the pandemic so many peopl order from catalogs or online. They are really taking advantage of people. UGH! I am so mad. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM, EVER! Or if you really want one of their products, be sure to pay for the shipping yourself!

Before Christmas ordered a Mickey Mouse projector blowup and I think about 2 week after receiving it it started getting lines through the projector screen it. Called customer service and was told that I do have a year to send it back. I explained that I worked for Disney and that I really did not want to send it back until after the holidays. Was told that that would not be a problem got a confirmation number and everything was made very easy and just today I received my new Mickey Mouse projection and I am so excited to put it up next year . Thank you for making it a very seamless process.

Purchase was for person in assisted living facility who is intimidated by electronics. Perfect gift. He was able to set it up and use it immediately. And he absolutely loves it: Hes mentioned a number of times how terrific the screen is and the says the sound is fantastic. Had a bit of a hiccup with shipping at first, but was ultimately taken care of with very knowledgeable and professional person at New York store. All is forgiven.
On 12/16/20 an unfortunate thing happened. I was going to return an item to Hammacher Schlemmer, while at the same time I was also going to ship some personal jewelry to another recipient.It was only a couple of hours later that I realized, I had exchanged the shipping labels....!!!! The jewelry worth a small fortune, was on the way to Hammacher Schlemmer!Needless to say, the anticipated loss of the jewelry, put me in a frazzled state of mind.Especially now during covid, when things are tough, I could hardly imagine losing it.After only several phone calls to Hammacher Schlemmer Customer Service Department, the wheels were set in motion. I could not believe the dedication of the entire customer servive team, and especially the supervisor ROSE, who was incredibly understanding, sympathetic, patient, and helpful with this unique situation. She kept on giving me updates of the status of the package, and explained to me that it will be delayed because of Corona and the holiday season.Finally, after 4 weeks, I got a phone call from Hammacher Schlemmer that they have the package, and they are shipping it to me, overnight . The package was fully intact, unopened!I have no words for the service I received from such a great company!I will remain a loyal customer of yours, always!Kudos to you and Rose!
I ordered a radio for my husbands birthday and paid almost $80 for one day shipping. The radio arrived defective, no big deal, they said they would exchange it, but I had to send the defective radio back. It came with return instructions and it was easy. When I called 2 weeks later they hadnt recieved the defective radio I sent but after some convincing they said they would go ahead and send a replacement right away if I gave them a tracking number. Done! Two weeks later I called again, it still hadnt been shipped. I requested that it be shipped right away and my one day shipping cost be refunded. Their response was that the original (defective) radio came on time so they wont be refunding the shipping cost. But my new radio is on the way! Accidents happen but when you handle them with Horrible customer service you lose clients, Ill never order from this company again.

This the 1st time I ordered from H-S & will probably be the last. I ordered an item on3/7/21 & was told it would be delivered in about a wk. & then received an email saying they were out of stock & would be shipped on the 26 Mar. & then received another email saying it would be delayed again. I was finally shipped on 4/7 but is now 4/12 & we still have not received my item. According to Fedex it is now in Northboro MA but can not give me a delivery date. I pd $17.95 for shipping & would think they would expedite order since it was NOT my fault for delay.

The items i ordered were “the best solar walkway Light”i bought 10 lights, but when i ordered them 2 of the lights came broken but when i contacted the company for new parts to fix it they never sent the parts, and the company gave me a hard time and i spoke to them several times to help me out but they never did, don’t let this company take your money and order from somebody else
HORRIBLE Customer Service! Placed orders in November and even though they said they were going to ship within two days the products didnt ship for over a month and didnt arrive in time for the holidays. I called three times to check on the status and they couldt tell me when to expect. They charge exorbitant prices for shipping although they say they are giving you a discount. The package didnt arrive with a receipt or a return label. Since it was too late I returned two of the three items which took three weeks to receive a credit and then they wouldnt refund a portion of the shipping fees for the return items even though they didnt deliver in a timely manner.Two other items were backordered and I was told they would be available the end of the year. They showed up last week! And, they dont work!Dont be fooled by their catalog! There products and customer service dont deliver and/or live up to their former reputation! What a pity! NEVER AGAIN!!Bottom line, they deserve a negative rating not a star! I wish I would have read the reviews before making a mistake to buy one thing from them!
Purchased a hose connector for the wash basin. Although I was careful to ask the sale assistant about the return service in case it doesnt fit prior to purchasing, he did not mention at all about the >$10 return cost via postage (they wont take return in stores due to Covid)! The item itself costs
Beautiful store filled with many different, interesting products. The staff was friendly and helpful. We were the only people in the store and they have good precautions for covid (only 5 visitors allowed at one time, markers on the floor to indicate traffic flow and social distancing, plexiglass to protect the person at the register, hand sanitizer for guests). We went there because we wanted to see a product in person that we were interested in from the catalog. It was nice to be able to do that.
After ordering 1 item from this company, i soon got way too many emails from them and could not stop them because their subscribe option does not work. Then several months later I found additional monthly charges on my credit card for a rewards program that I did not sign up for.
I placed an order on November 27 and after calling today December 8 for the delivery status, I was informed that the item will not ship until February 9. Obviously this was supposed to be a Christmas gift yet no one informed me by email or mail or any other way that the item would not be here before February. After talking to customer service and finding out the delay status I asked if they would compensate me in anyway for the inconvenience. Manuel Figueroa told me I was already getting a discount. I explained to him that the discount I was receiving was because I had placed a previous order and had nothing to do with a courtesy discount because of this delay. I asked to speak to his supervisor. He had me on hold for approximately five minutes then came back and said my supervisor said the same thing I am saying, No other discount can be given. I asked for his supervisors name that he supposedly spoke with and he told me his name was Tyler Casemiro. I will never shop at Hammacher Schlemmer again. Poor poor poor customer service.P S. My wife ordered a heated sweater jacket for me for Christmas. Item 94486When it arrived we found that it did not work. I called Hammacher Schlemmer customer service to fine out what was wrong. The woman I spoke to said, oh, those jackets are defective. We wont get any to replace them until the end of March 2021. She knew, as soon as I mentioned the product, that the items were defective. Hence, the company knowingly sold a faulty product, since my wife had ordered it on December 11th. We are returning it for a full refund and will never, never buy anything from this company again. I never even want to look at a catalog. Everything is always listed as THE BEST,,,,,,, Maybe it should b listed as THE CROOKEDIST...
I wish I had never bought anything from them, and I have bought a lot.Their lifetime guarantee is a crock. I bought the giant Frosty inflatable for $400, and it stopped working after one year. So, because of the time, they could not get another one, they gave me a gift certificate...minus $15 because it had been over 6 months (it was only the second Christmas). Why steal $15 from me considering it was in none of the fine print on any of the pages I saw while buying?Beware that that lifetime guarantee is almost paid for in blood. Since I could not get my money back, I was forced to use the gift certificate on their over-priced stuff, so I bought a paper shredder for $300. You can get that same shredder for as low as $177, so I paid $123 for that lifetime guarantee. That is just one example. I also used some of the certificate to buy a nose/ear hair trimmer for $30, and it is just $19 on Amazon.You are better off running.

Ordered Prelit Noble Fir Christmas tree that was delivered to the wrong address. Corrected that and assembled the tree only to find that none of the lights lit. Called customer service, after being forced to wait 20 minutes, received a recording that they were closed for the day (contrary to the customer service hours on their website). Not to be deterred, I tried to reach Customer Service the next morning, waited another 35 minutes, only to receive another recording that they would return my call in 24-48 hours. Adding insult to injury, I discover that they added a $45 shipping charge when I was to have received free shipping. Unbelievable.

Very poor experience. I understand they may be overwhelmed with Covid-19 but I have called no less then 5 times, have waited on hold for over 2 hours, only option was to leave a voicemail no call back. I have sent emails, no response. Going on week 2 without any response whatsoever. This is Customer Service... horrible. They leave me no other choice but to dispute the charges on my credit card. I will not be buying from this company again and will never recommend them to anyone.

How many reviews do you need about the resizing to make this fit a woman. The only thing you did was make the pieces smaller. The belt is way too bulky and the loops are 3 too low. The pockets are 5 too low. No adjustment has been made to accommodate a woman! Get with it! This robe is expensive! Am I keeping it, not sure. The fabric is nice. But if I could find this quality elsewhere to get a better fit, Im returning this one.

0 of 5 stars. I ordered 11 items online, >$1000 on Dec 11th 2019 for Christmas gifts. Online never mentioned any of the products were on back order. 2 items were delivered within the week. I called about the remaining items, a customer service rep said it will be delivered on 12/24. No items were delivered. I followed up on 12/27, a customer service rep said the items were on back order and will be shipped within 24 hours. On 12/30, I reviewed my order online & the items still had not shipped. I called on 12/30 to cancel my order, a customer service rep said 3 items are in and my acct is locked so she can not cancel those items and I need to refuse or return the items to fedex or post office after I have received them. This process is frustrating. Horrible customer service giving wrong info. Do NOT use this company, it is unreliable.

10.21.17 - Probably my fourth or fifth time in the store and today was the first after the major renovation. I came to return an electric blanket for a family member and they were able to verify the purchase and take it back without a hitch.Its a fun store to visit, but its a pricey store. This is an amazing store with the most unique selection of products and gifts for children and adults. It is pricey, but you get what you pay for. There was a personal submarine in the shape of a killer whale. There are board games. There were so many different types of products, I cant remember. Worse place to order anything. First I placed an order for a Christmas Train Set the page on their website doesn’t give specifics instead tells the customer there are 30 pieces like who’s to know how big or small that is. Could be small pieces or could be big pieces. When I received the item didn’t fit under Christmas Tree as it was WAY too big! I returned it immediately and when they received it in their warehouse on Nov. 28, 2017 they didn’t get back to me till mid December every time it was an excuse that they’re backed order dealing with returns etc and that until they receive the item in their warehouse that can’t issue me a refund. Which is a crock because they had it in their warehouse for quite sometime even after I have them numerous times the order number/tracking number. I spent returning their item $47.00 UPS while they ONLY issued me back for shipping and handling $14.95. You do the math. Mind you I spent $78.28 for that nonsense plus the $47.00 on top of that! Don’t get fooled by them, their items are WAY too expensive and one can find items much cheaper on amazon or elsewhere! Honestly, they’re a bunch of crooks. I tell anyone don’t buy from them. I would never recommend a customer purchase from them, if you do beware.

I usually have purchased items online or from catalog. I dont go to New York to shop. My experience with HS regarding clothing sizes is that they run small, very small, compared to sizes used by other clothing retailers. I have been an XXL all my adult life, I am 84, yet HS XXL or XXXL are always much smaller. To my disappointment HS charges for shipping both ways even when their products are misepresented size wise. I will never buy a piece of clothing from HS again and suggest you do the same as to not waste double shipping charges for their misrepresention of clothing sizes. You have been warned.
I would give ZERO stars if i could! We ordered the most popular tree from the place that sells the worlds best x-mas trees and when we got it out of the box it did not work! For a thousand dollars, the worlds best xmas tree did not work when it arrived. When we called to get a replacement tree for this one, they said they were sold out of that tree. of course we cant get a refund on this tree until they get it back. The next day we go on line and spend another 1,000 for a different tree that the web site says in in stock. 3 days go by and no confirming email for the order. So we call and are told THAT tree was NO in stock when we ordered it and they should have contacted us to tell us and were sorry because they did not. it then took a call to a manager to get the 2nd 1,000 refunded. This company is the worst for customer service and the worst part is they dont care. not the first person actually attempted to fix the problem. We are done with these guys. wish we would have never heard of the words best xmas tree.
This was absolutely, beyond words, the worst online experience Ive ever encountered. I order 95% of my items online. I tried 5 times to place an order with a platinum AMX card that has no issues. I was argued with, lied to and promised the order was accepted. I have 5 PENDING charges on my AMX from them right now.

An amazing store with absolutely incredible and knowledgeable staff their return policy is something that we no longer see at any store, it is truly a lifetime warranty. When I had to return an item they simply had one waiting for me at the register took my old broken item and never asked any questions and handed over brand new item to replace it and helped me around the store with another purchase.

My sons $500 skateboard broke 1 or 2 months after he received it as a gift from my parents as a gift for his 10th or 11th birthday. He is now 14. Their great catalogs one indulges in reading while taxiing on the runway at JFK promises a curated selection of some of the coolest gadgets, toys, health, beauty, and electronics available. The staff at the store are extremely helpful and pleasant, not at all stuffy or high-pressure sales. If there is something in the catalog you have your eye on, the store is a great place to see it in person before you buy. (They dont have everything. Some things are catalog only.)But behind the curtain one gets a sense of overpriced doodads filling a need that can be meet just as well for a fraction of the cost elsewhere. The rest is simply ludicrous: $12,000 for a nap pod? Just give me the $12K - Ill sleep quite soundly, thank you.
Very poor refund service. Ordered some custom insoles. Never received. H&S had me call the maker to find out about my order but when came time to refund H&S called to verify. Poor customer service. I have yet to receive my full refund. Never will buy from them again and will share my experience and forewarn anyone I see that gets their catalogs.

These two items are online order only. I thought I had to go home and order myself but Simone was so helpful she placed the order for me and shipping is free of charge. Afterward, I looked around and found a comfortable walking shoes and Suzana helped me. I thank everyone and started to leave and saw the item that was on my list to get..Travelon anti-theft hand-free purse. I also needed a new air conditioner... Suzana gave me details and I would get back to her after my son approved the purchase. This store has items that is helpful. If I stayed any longer I dont know what else I could carry home. Great customer service! Ive been using the rolling iPad stand for several years now and the elastic bands that hold the iPad in place have worn thin. I called, the rep said shes put in a request, and voila! received brand new elastic bands so I can continue reading relaxed in bed. Such a small item makes such a big difference and I am most grateful this store honors its customers.

**An Update** even though the order was cancelled in December they delivered the item and charged my card in May. 5 months after the initial order. A phone call to them and they said they had no record of my call or email and said that I could return it myself! I refused so they arrange a Fedex pickup that was due on Monday. Wednesday its still on my doorstep and another call and they claim no pickup booked and no record of the call arranging it. How to make a bad situation worse. AVOID AT ALL COSTS****The worst customer experience ever. A Christmas present ordered that a week before the big day they tell me wont be delivered now until New Year because of stock shortages (why did you sell it in the 1st place and then take 2 weeks to realise you didnt have enough). I then called and the most obnoxious and rude rep on the phone said what do you want me to do about it in the way that you know theyre not going to do anything about it, and of course didnt. Then an email to their service team saying how disappointed I was with the whole experience that got no response. I chased after 6 weeks to finally hear back from someone who said well we cant change the past, thanks, very helpful. Avoid this company at all costs!!!!!
Love this place! Everything pretty much has a lifetime warranty. Very Pricey though.. Not for the faint of heart ..Lol!

Christmas order gone very wrong.Numerous foul-ups including technical & human errors. Worst of all a lack of caring.Multiple phone calls, poor and rude service. Will never shop here again! The short of it-1. Systems issues- No confirm email & backorder item not indicated2. Service Issue- rude & discourteous3. Misinformation- Dec 2nd order due week before Christmas- delivered day after christmas.4. No Follow-up- Rep tells me to provide my name & email so a manager can get back to me. Never happened...So much more, but not worth my time.Give it a few years and Amazon will put them out of my misery.
I had visited Hammacher Schlemmer yesterday (Sunday Nov 4) and was a little disappointed by the way the store is run. I will explain why. I had come into the store to purchase the 3 D Drawing pen and inquire about the 3D Printer that they have on their Web Site since I am very interested in both.The pen was found locked in a cabinet among other items right by the door. Easy enough to find, however the printer was not even in the store. My wife who is an artist by trade wanted to see the 3D pen in action and ask specific questions about the pen as she was prepared to make a purchase.The salesperson could not answer our questions about the voltage of the pen (as we are planning to use the 3D pen overseas), at first she did not know what 220 meant. After I described it to her, she said I suppose since its a high ticket item. She looked at the plug and then saw it said 240 V on it.She then was fumbling around the item itself not wanting to really show it to us. I had then asked isnt there a demo item in the front? She told me there is a policy not to demo items. She then was trying to find out voltage info on the 3D printer which was not in the store and she was asking someone on the phone.At this point, I knew she could not answer of my technical questions about the 3D Printer which I was ready to purchase for my business or the 3D pen that she was just fumbling around info from the Web Site that I already read at home. My wife started to loose interest in both items due to the lack of information about the pen and her inability to answer any questions about either item.We decided to leave and thank her for her time. We still want both items as they are a tool we are very much interested for our business..only from a store that can answer technical questions and demo the item for us. This was quite a disappointment and demonstrates why stores have closed and people are buying from Web Sites as the prices are lower since you have to do the reading and hope the item will work for your needs which is not always the case.I grew up purchasing everything in a store and try to continue to do so as I prefer to see the item in person and speak to a knowledgeable person in a store opposed to purchasing items without even seeing them or speaking to anyone. I feel bad for this store, however their salespeople are not up to par.
