We had a great experience at our first Muji in the US. The store was easy to find. There was a nice security guard at the door. The inside was very clean and organized. But the part was the staff members, particularly the assistant manager, Jian (I think that was his name). He was very patience and efficient with our shopping and questions. He (and I believe the other staff as well) take much care when packaging your goods into the bag such that there is no wasted space. I was very impressed! Our only disappointment was that there was no restroom.Thank you!
Love their stationery and acrylic units for organizing. Their notebooks, diaries and simple and well-designed, bullet journals are fairly priced and so much better than the most expensive ones on Amazon and they are only $4.90.Staff was pretty helpful, they kept checking to see if I needed help with anything even though they were busy doing inventory. To some people in different moods, this might seem like they are being watched, but I think it’s just the staff being nicer than average New Yorkers. S/O to Jian for manually applying discount to each of my items because the coupon didn’t work.
Great place to get a variety of different products from luggage to clothes. This place has a handicapped accessible entrance and theres street parking in the area. Most easily reached by bus or Subway to Tomes Square. The staff are friendly and helpful. Merchandise is layed out in an easy to find way and the aisles have ample room for you to shop.
Such a wonderful ambiance in this store. Staff was very nice!
The best stationery ever made. Along with everything else produced by the giants that brings clean, minimalist designs that doesnt feel forcefully bland or soulless...everytime I go. It feels like the future
Love MUJI wherever they are.
Exchanging something without receipt is almost impossible. I was there today, just to exchange a small size sweater with medium size. The item was in a good shape. I bought only 3 days ago and I didn’t use it. They said according their company policy they can’t exchange anything without receipt. I totally understand and respect that but the way they treat their customer was super rude and careless. I’m sure in their policy also there is something about how to treat a customer. Which they don’t care about as much as a receipt. A big disappointment!!!
The actually store itself is good. However - hours say 6pm but they were closed at 5pm with no signage.
A lovely store sequestered in a very busy part of midtown. Stocked with well mannered and designed household items. Staff is courteous and exceeds your usual NYC store help. Good items that are worth the cost.
So. Freaking. Cool.As a designer and artist, I adore MUJI and it was super awesome to visit their flagship US store. Their sales staff were super friendly and their product catalogue is extensive! You can find anything and everything at MUJI. And it’s much, much better quality than other multi-product shops and “brands” like IKEA…
Always great to walk into a Muji ! -the clean, streamlined look, and the refreshing and pleasant scents coming from the essential oils in the diffusers. Very relaxing and welcoming. And once you start browsing the store, youll find many intelligently designed items, really well thought out, that you will want to have in your home, partly because they are so practical or comfortable, and partly because they are just so pleasant, aesthetically!
A zen and relaxing store to escape from the hustle and bustle.
I love their little notebooks. They have a plain brown cover and are great for keeping notes when reading books for leisure. I have a book club and next time I get a chance I am going to buy a notebook for all in the club as it is the perfect size to carry along with the book. It is great to not only use them as a note keeper but also as a journal and sketchbook. I even like that you can write on the cover. The store has other unique items and I look forward to an opportunity to browse in the near future.
Love the simplicity of products. Bought a aluminum fountain pen and have loved writing with it. Great way to kill time while waiting for a train or bus.
There is a sale going on now for their gel pens. 5 for $4.90 before tax. The store is on the smaller side compared to other muji stores but have the stationary essentials. Very neat as always and have some delicious snacks as well
Muji never disappoints, though this location doesn’t have the most friendly staff (or is it a New York thing?).I usually don’t mind when a staff isn’t super attentive, but there’s something about some of the cashiers here that made me feel uneasy. It’s quite interesting; I might visit again in the future just to figure out what it is.
Love this place, you can find anything for your home as well as your closet! Beautiful clothes. Also snacks are sold there.
Great stuff! The mini bottles have improved and are more squishy than before! Finally might be able to use it for toothpaste ;) unfortunately, low/ankle socks in size 27-30cm are nowhere to be found! Havent seen them in-stock, in that size, in over a year :(
Very affordable, high quality clothing. I really, really, love the pens, especially the medium gel pens in packs of 10. They play very peaceful music so it is relaxing and fun just to hang for a while. They also sell weird home appliances. Staff is friendly and helpful. Open lots of hours.
If you care about the earth, think twice before buying their products. Most of their products are made in China with mediocre quality. In other words, they don’t last long and that’s not good for the environment. Design is passable but quite good considering the price. Staff were helpful but a few acted as if they hated working there.
Its Muji so expect high quality products, clean/tidy shopping space, and friendly and efficient service. Its a lot smaller than their other store on 5th Avenue (in front of the New York Public Library) and I couldnt find some items I would normally find in that other store. Thankfully, that store is only a 15-minute walk away, but its still inconvenient, especially during my recent visit when I was in a bit of a rush.
I love this this place. The smell of Aroma is like a magnet that pulls me into this place. It just opens up your senses and clears the air....take a deep breath!!!!!
I did not about the place till some friends took us there, and Im glad they did! The store has very comfy beanbags, the smell of aroma pleases your nose, and the Japanese pens were so good, I bought some for myself! Highly recommend if youre around Times Square!
If youre looking for a place that has decently priced, good quality everyday items then I would highly recommend this place. Better than the branded stuff you see elsewhere.
Cute, modernist, and minimalist items for sale. A bit pricy but so is everything down in Times Square. The place smells of ginger - very pleasant and the pens are really neat. Much of the clothing is for smaller folk.
This is by far the most well stocked Muji store Ive been to outside of Japan. They have everything you could ever need in a single store as well as having polite and professional staff to meet your needs. The store is well kept and smells like the signature citrus aroma diffuser.
I love this unique store. It may appear at first glance to be another cookie-cutter houseware/apparel store, but the simplistic esthetic of eastern cultures is so radically different from what I find to be tediously boring and predictable in American versions of this type of store. Extremely reasonable prices, unique fashion for both men and women, and utilitarian, old-school supplies that still at respect to things sadly lost in the age of Social Media: stationary, journals, and calendars of high quality (cotton/linen), raincoats made from translucent waterproof nylon that can be folded and tucked away into the smallest pocket, Plain, simple items that dont look they came from Walmart.
Lovely store. Nice gift options. Friendly staff.
Great store, this location has a smaller selection, but the Bryant Park location isnt that far if your stationary needs are not met!
Great tranquil place, with very nice items. Items are basic but made from very high quality materials. Will definitely be coming back.
One of my favorite stores. Good prices, and the design is neat, clean and functional. Excellent clothes, in particular mens shirts, which are very competitively priced and great quality. This location is smaller, but still offers good selection.
Love this store. Great pieces for the home, clothing, and many other things. Prices are great and the design is simple. Love their essential oils selection!
Big Times Square Muji location. Much better than the Soho location but still just as drab. The store has a sterile feel to it since everything is so monochrome and pale. If you want a t-shirt that matches the same material to your bedspread, this is the place for you. The store is never crowded, perhaps because it is tucked closer to Port Authority and on a street where the tourists dont really walk.
Just the same as other Muji,What? You though I was gonna describe somthin..No T_TBut i will say when you enter u smell warm and light scents and you will love muji plz give them money:D plus good quality
I always come here when Im in town. Ive been fortunate enough to come by when they were having sales, and boy do I get my moneys worth. I havent had a reason to purchase any larger home items, but based on what Ive seen in the stores Ive gone into, I can see this will be one of my first stops when the opportunity presents itself. One sure purchase is the ankle socks for either men or women. Youll find yourself wearing them more often than you think.
If you like simple but functional design elements in your home, then get on over to Muji. Muji offers all sorts of housewares, linens, furniture, clothing and even some things you would never even think you needed (like a silicon ice ball maker). Muji products all have the following traits simple, functional, high quality and durability. Catch them during a sale for some incredible bargains and closeouts.
Really cute store. There is a wide variety of things, with my favorite being the stationary and writing implements. Things arent exactly cheap, but at least they are high quality.
Best stationary ever. Other really nice and cute things sold there. WARNING: you will get addicted to shopping here.
Wide array of minimalistic merchandise, ranging from stationary, to skincare, to home appliances. Clean and organized.
Ive been there two times now and its been really amazing. Its such a calm and serene place to shop, everyone is just at peace. I loved it
Their black friday promotion is a trap! Snacks buy 1 get 1 free sounds nice but if you checkout with more than 2 snacks the cheapest ones would be free thus they would charge you more than you think. If you don’t pay attention you fell into it!!
Lovely store - great ambiance and unbranded products. A bit expensive, but high quality. Peaceful place to wander to kill time waiting for your bus at port authority.
Great place to shop general merchandise. Low cost.
A glorious, peaceful and incredibly well organized store filled to the brim with basics that everyone needs in better versions than anywhere else, certainly for the price. Japanese quality and simplicity reign here. Their notebooks and sketch pads along with all the markets, pens and crayons you could think of are great and so reasonably priced.
Its like a Japanes Ikea meets a Bed Bath & Beyond. We walked in to check it out because we were just curious. Everything from clothing and makeup, to luggage, pens and incense diffusers. It was cool, but nothing in there caught my fancy so Im giving it a very neutral 3-stars. Not good or bad.
I came here earlier today to pick up a present. There werent many people in the store. I saw a couple of things that looked awesome but the price didnt seem to match the quality. I picked a few novelty items including cult favorite pens for my friend. The checkout was fast and they do free gift wrapping.
Amazing experience with minimal styled items
Fascinating place, very cushy sofa chairs that take little space plus they look like those blob ball chair things from TV shows. A lot of reasonably price goods for small studios or cozy study rooms galore.
Muji is a great Japanese store that has a wide array of quality, unbranded staples at good prices. I personally own several of their mens shirts, packing cubes, a humidifier/diffuser, various kitchen staples, and a wide array of their stationary; all of it exceptional. I am particularly fond of their pens and notebooks which come in a huge selection of sizes, colors, paper selections, and markings (blank, grid, dot grid, and lined). The staff is always friendly and helpful and the Japanese snacks they have (for purchase) are a delicious indulgence.
Very nice clothes, and aviance evrything els
Love this department store. Prices are amazing given the Location. Great for stationary items and school stuff.
This store is just excellent. Stationery items from Japan, small selection of Japanese clothing, not quite the same as Uniqlo. Also have Japanese bed ware, kitchenware and storage containers. Cant wait to get my yukatta for the summer.
The people there really help! Good quality stationary, which many of the times I come here for. Even everything else is in very good condition.
Great stuff, great store, great for organizing and the ocd in you! :)
Think Staples + Container Store + H&M, yet everything is centered around minimalism and is the Japanese variation. This place is awesome for those who crave things which are highly functional yet are simplistic. Ive been lots of times.
I love all the Muji stores. They allow you to exchange items if necessary. People are kind there, and the products are innovative. I once purchased a book for ~$65 and it is now going for $800.This store and Moleskine are my favorite stationary stores.
Nice clothing, a little bit pricey! If YOU want or need something fashionable & trending, this is the place!
This is a fun story that has unique items. They have some kitchen and bathroom items as well as some clothes and stationery items. Their style is simple and elegant and not expensive.
Get snacks and good travel storage options here.
Superb, knowledgeable and attentive staff with products found nowhere else!Japans IKEA with better, well designed, (high-end yet, reasonably to low-priced,) organizing products for the home, home-office, and travel. A minimalists dream store!
I love any Muji shop. I gave this particular branch a four versus a five because it doesnt have as wide of a selection and it is not as well organized as some of the others. What they do have is fabulous, like always
Great quiet atmosphere! Was greeted at the front door with a coupon flier. Purchased my products efficiently and quickly!
Excellent staff! I had to exchange some items that I bought from another location and they were prompt & accomodating. Love this place!
Muji is great. Mainly in terms of stationery. However, you must never Go to Muji to buy stationery because there are always teenagers there. The teenagers are not there to buy stationery, theyre there to look at stationery and stand in front of stationery displays, while talking about teenage matters, the lives of teenagers, their teenage thoughts. This is terrible and doesnt make any sense because everything, stationery-wise, is so inexpensive. So to shumate,-- my word-- you should buy all your stationery at Muji, but you should also never.
Really well stocked. Im a big fan of MUJI merchandise so it was fun to browse around.
Nice place. Everything has a great minimalist style at a decent price.
Little pricy but cool place and loved the shop style
Muji has a wonderfully soothing ambiance enhanced by its muted colors, the soft music playing in the background, and essential oil diffusers. The merchandise - ranging from pens to clothes to bedding - is simple and quality, though a bit pricy. I love to wander this store whenever I am in New York City.
Everything’s really clean and nice, but it’s not cheap. Their products do hold up well, though. The clothing’s not as nice as their other goods.
Have loved this store since I first discovered one in Paris. Use their notebooks and pens all the time. The spare Japanese design is unique and handsome.
Love Muji, although this store in particular is one of their smaller ones in New York with a much smaller selection. If you have the option, I’d recommend a visit to one of their larger locations.
Great place to find lots of product selection.and great quality product.
When you first walk into the store, you are greeted with food. The aroma of the store is a strong citrus. You could buy clothing, art supplies, and home necessities and decor.I dont know why I like the pens, they feel normal yet are expensive-ish. I mean, the best one is the calligraphy pen. Writing on the provided pad with many colors just satisfies me.In addition to the satisfying part, I loved the diffusers and aromas. My favorite was the Happy diffuser, which had the fragrance of a nice citrus, not as strong as how the store smells. In contrast, I did not enjoy the Rosemary diffuser. Maybe personal preference, but whatever.Ooh, also, dont mess with anything. The display, the stamps, etcetera. A family got yelled and had to pay for each item, as they were caught opening the stamps, even though THERE WERE MANY SIGNS SAYING NOT TO!The clothing area is small, but still have great clothes.A Nice Place To Feel At Peace!
Such good quality products, and the stationary is great value for what you pay for
I recently discovered what a great store this is. I had an issues with a sale ticket price vs register price and it was corrected without question. I highly recommend this retail store.
Like MUJI itself. But staffs here are rude and i saw they grumbled toward each other while helping me. It was very embarrassing moment and comfortable for me to shop there. Why should I watch out how staffs will react?
I love shopping here. The staff is always friendly and helpful and, I love the products.
The biggest I have seen yet and has so much more products to choose from. Love the design of the store and the employees are so nice.
I love Muji pens! Too bad that there are not enough sku’s available for XL men.Every time I find interesting clothes, there are none available.Staff is very helpful though! Thanks
Very nice and quick, I like how everything is placed together so I dont have to search far and wide for things. And to Gamze Li who put a 1 star for the store, only an idiot tries to return something without a receipt, this isnt a mom and dad store where you frequent on a daily basis and know the family, this is a retail store where workers can get fired for what you want them to do for you.
Organized and very clean with a lot of stationary and home goods. Pretty much wanted to buy everything even if I had the same thing just not Muji style
Coolest shop in the area, check it out! Perfect fitting jeans for $40!
I love Muji, I come in this location almost every week for quick gifts for my associates. Good customer service.
Just another average Japanese clothing company. Beware that their cotton clothings will shrink.
This shop is small version of Uniqlo with much better products. The location is part of NY Times building and its convenience near NY Port Authority Bus Terminal.
Expensive but really good and pretty designs of clothes and really good and helpful tools for organization in the house and office. Love the plain and modern designs.
I always come here for minimalist stationary items, but they really have so much more.
