When CVS arrived to my neighborhood, I thought it was very impersonal thus avoided doing any type of purchases. But the convenient location soon won me over as a customer and today Johanna was very helpful in walking me through the steps of printing photos from my Android phone. Yet, I still needed assistance thus I asked a gentleman-name Jesse and what a wonderful, humane and mindfulexperience. It is people like Johanna and Jesse who make a difference in a business and Jesses humble, respectful, patient and thoughtful attitude make a significant difference in the world. Thank you Jesse for the express lesson on how to print photos from my Android phone.
The store is always clean and its easy to find things. Grateful to the staff for always being so helpful. Today I went in again and a young lady by the name of DAvian went out of her way to assist me with a smile. She was patient and positive. The manager was helpful as well and greets customers with a smile. Thank you CVS! This store is one of my favorite locations!
I’ve never really had a bad experience at a CVS before. These people, God bless ‘em, were either so stressed out from the volume of people picking up - or just so checked out - that they came off as extremely rude at almost every stage of the pickup. This is an incredibly hard process to mess up. They really went for it.
Love this location at 500 West 42nd Street...great customer service, constant sale items, well-stocked, and convenient hours. Also, I love their pharmacy...very helpful staff and always accurate in filling prescriptios. This store is older looking than some places. But, thats a minor thing considering all of their positive points listed above. In contrast, I used to shop and use the pharmacy at Duane Reade. Even though it was a newer and shinier store, their customer service was dismal. And, to get a discount on their points program took forever. At CVS, however, there are sale items and discount coupons every single visit! Their points program is the best! And, the entire staff is always helpful and eager to please. Check them out.
I went to CVS for my Covid Booster on Aug 29, 2021. Made appointment on line. Did not have my card but had my Excelsior pass. The pharmacist refused to give me a new card as he should have. When I didnt receive an email a within a few days I started to try to trace my record. After 2 weeks of calling and waiting hours on hold, I finally reached someone who was able to start a case file and provide a vacination card, although my name was not quite complete on the card. I now have searched my Citywide Immunization Registry and they still have no record of my vaccination. Again today I called corporate to report that my vacination was not properly recorded. Every time I called the store where I received my vaccine a different pharmacist was temporarily at the site and not the regular pharmacist for the store. I would advise anyone to be very careful before using CVS for vaccination as their record keeping or lack there of has created an enormous problem for me. I wish that I had read the reviews before I went to this store. To quote the others...there should be a no star rating for this store.
This CVS store has been so helpful since I arrived my first day last Saturday. Today is Wednesday my last day in New York City and every time that I visited this store everyone was so helpful. Providing the best customer service and giving me the right direction. Did not matter if was during the day or night they were there to help me for anything that I was needing. I want to say that they do the best that they can to keep customer satisfaction extremely high. Thank you to everyone at this location for providing me great help. Until next time and keep the hard team work.
Great place. I wish it was open 24 hours like it use to be, pre covid days.
Was looking to buy batteries for my thermometer and was unable to open it to see what kind of batteries it needed. It was kinda stuck and I couldnt open it. The person who works there Jessie was super helpful. He went out of his way to find the batteries, opened it and installed the batteries himself. Excellent service. Thank you.
I highly recommend the drug store because the quality of their work was outstanding. I thought all the drugs were new to me. They also provide free delivery of drugs to your house. The pick-up and distribution option was perfect for my variable schedule. Thank you for the most comfortable operation.
Good location of the store. They have everything, from snacks to drinks to hair care to skin care literally everything you can forget while traveling. Because it is located in front of the Yotel hotel it is a perfect location for a store. Staff members are really friendly and help you with a smile on their face. I really felt comfortable shopping in this store!
I went to this location and I got an outstanding service from Katrina. She was helpful, knowledgeable and very nice. Thank you for helping me to find my hand sanitizer
Horrible customer service! The girls at checkout have nasty attitudes. I asked the girl to price match an item to the CVS app (which I’ve done before without any problem in other CVS stores) and she refused to do so. I told her to please ask her manager, over the walkie, the manager said “no the price is the price!” This is not my first bad expressive here neither.
Pharmacy no good. Discriminates against what type of insurance you have.
HORRIBLE customer service! Pharmacist Anthony Orlando LIES...be careful about having your meds here...he misquoted [READ: lied!] the law, spoke disparagingly about Duane Reade and was incredibly unprofessional and was dishonest in trying to cover his tracks. Then, was very, very aggressive by cancelling my medications, knowing I was going to make a complaint about him. Seriously, worse behavior than my toddler...DO NOT HAVE MEDICATIONS FILLED HERE if you want it to go through fairly smoothly...THEY DO NOT HAVE RELATIONSHIPS WITH THEIR PATIENTS AT ALL...Good luck!
Lisa Thompson.... you should be ashamed of yourself for posting comments about anything else other than your experience while you visited the store. Commenting about a person’s physical appearance is totally unwarranted and insensitive. If you are that concerned about a persons appearance and weight challenge, you would be better served to offer help if you are qualified than to insult someone and hide behind your comment. You should remove that posting. That would be the dignified action to take. Worry about yourself and how you look.
WORST CVS EVER..EVERY STAFF PERSONELL INCLUDING THE PHARMACY STAFF IS RUDE AND NO HELP WHAT SO EVER..THEY YELL OUT PEOPLES MEDICATION FOR EVERYONE TO HEAR....AND THE PLACE IS SO DIRTY, I SAW ROACHES NEXT TO THE FOOD AREA..STAY AWAY!!
Nathan is great! He always helps me find items and helped walk me through how to print photos efficiently today. Hes one of many reasons that I love coming to this location. Short lines, friendly staff, and a great selection of products!
Excellent service and staff at this location. Whatever bad reviews you see here are likely dated. The pharmacy in particular is top notch here. The neighborhood is a bit unsavory but that isnt relevant to the service and experience within the store.
Mostly courteous friendly helpful some of the staff will help me give me when not feeling well and in a lot of pain or just need assistance question answers some people complain but like anywhere you have your Grumpys whats the most part over here has been very helpful to me and I thank them
We waited 10 minutes to receive our cash back staff not helpful machines dysfunctional
Managers at this cvs don’t know how to talk to their employees all they do is harass and bully their employees. I know first hand
I come here occasionally, and the people here are generally helpful and courteous. Today, I needed help from staff a few times more than usual, and it seems the staff went out of their way to flash giant smiles, make notable eye contact, and wish me a good day at the end of our interactions - totally caught me off guard. The pharmacist even wished me an early birthday. Not sure what is up with the world today, but the trip collectively made my day.
Worst pharmacy, always a problem filling prescriptions, always...Rude stuff. They will always say they don’t have the prescription order after the doctor sent it 3 times... one time had to go 3 times to pick up a prescription cuz they will say is ready over the phone and when I go pick up they will say is not. Horrible service. Long waits when you call they will put you on hold for 10 minutes or hang up on you. Never coming here again
Love the pharmacy
Went in to get a flu shot and the pharmacist insisted I had no active coverage when she looked up my info. Confused, I asked why that might be but she refused to help me troubleshoot the issue, just gave me a look and said I should call my insurance. Thankfully, the pharmacist at a different CVS a few blocks away took the extra moment to help — the info on file from my last visit was not put into the system correctly.
CVS corporate should be embarrassed at the status of this store. The pharmacy is always a mess with keeping orders organized so they can be easily found and half the time I show up to pickup an order, it isnt even available even though a days notice should be more than enough time. If you plan on using this pharmacy expect it to not go smoothly.
Worst CVS, every time I go in they treat me like a criminal. I cant understand why, this is a wealthy neighborhood, Im dressed professionally. This is why people prefer shopping online.
Cynthia is a manager there I guess. Which is shocking considering I saw her take product and stuff them in her bag. I was shocked. Also a store that promotes health has a 400 pound employee? That’s strange....
Had a great and friendly experience. Could probably use more fresh food though (Sandwiches, etc).
Location is a bit worn down and could use some TLC but staff was excellent
Saw all the horrible reviews after I had a prescription transferred there from cvs on w 57th street because they were out of stock. Reviews made me a bit nervous but was in and out of there in minutes with meds in hand. Pharmacist who handled the transfer was quick and efficient. On overall good experience.
Small and always out of of something. Too much space taken up by tourists sandwiches and not enough regular drugstore items like school supplies, notions, cards, etc...but staff pleasant staff works hard at constant restocking.
Terrible pharmacy.Shuffled me around between 4 people. None of them could answer any questions. The pharmacist did not even explain any of my medications. When I asked about mucinex prescription, the pharmacist didn’t even look at my prescriptions to know that the medication sent over to them was a mucinex-like medication. He did not know nothing.I just cannot express how frustrating it was to get any prescriptions there. The worst, ever.My prescriptions are covered in my healthcare plan, but they tried to charge me $32 because the pharmacist overlooked that. What else does he overlook?Avoid this pharmacy if possible.
So, how long is the convenient entrance on 10th going to be “Closed” for? I smell b.s.
I called the pharmacy to have my medication delivered because I was sick and unable to pick it up. Spoke with DANIEL who was so rude and disrespectful on the phone. It was a Sunday and couldn’t get my meds delivered (understandable) but he kept saying that I had to pick it up and kept rushing me!
I always have a problem. The item on sale isnt on sale. They put the wrong tag/or didnt take off last weeks. None of the Manhattan CVSs use the circular sales (go to Brooklyn) but this cvs has fewer specials than the others. Today, my $10 ECB beeped, girl said I can only use it for make-up. I said I can use it on anything over $10. It is not a coupon, it is a reward.
Open 24 hours which is nice. Store has a strange layout, doesnt have a large selection, and often runs out of things. The staff also seem apathetic and the store is often messy.
A lot of useful things, but lack of great/nice employees.
This service is pretty good.
A checkout clerk threatened to call the cops on me, called me a racist word, and encouraged another patron to fight me when my gift card didnt work because of incompetence from another employee. Its the 4th time this location has not been able to make my gift card work... but as soon as I ask for a manager (who knows what she is doing), she has gotten it to work in 15 seconds or less. I was refused a manager. CVS, you really need to apologize to anyone who frequents this place. I am white, and I was called a n*gger by the patron that was upset with me and by the checkout guy. I laughed but also found it wildly inappropriate. And I was forced, literally forced to pay the remaining balance with cash if I wanted any of my items. But the real problem is I was refused the items I had already paid for separately with a card. So many things were wrong with this experience. As I mentioned, employees at this location have had many issues with my gift cards, but I always show respect and patience. This 4th time though, I was treated so poorly, racist slurs were used, cops were threatened to be called when I simply wanted the items ive already paid for... and the staff encouraged another patron to fight me when he became angry that I was taking so long. I will be filing a police report because I felt I was in danger. But I hope CVS sees this and offers an apology. Doubtful. But I hope nonetheless.
Phone system doesn’t work for anything but pharmacy. If you need anything else, don’t call
I needed passport photos done and their machine was not working.Went back the next day and their machine still was not working. They sent me to another CVS and guess what they also hada non functioning machine. Got tired of it and found this placeon 200 W. 39th Street, machine was working was in and out inless then 5 minutes. They charged me $12 but was worth it.No hassle.
Theyre always so friendly and helpful here.
It is very affordale compared to duane reads prices in the hells kitchen area;(duean reade on 42nd&8th avenue).
Great location, all major items of CVS, fantastic services.
The pharmacist would not come out from behind the counter to show me what to do to tape my arm and leg up despite the fact I was bleeding on his counter from a skateboarding injury Id had five minutes prior. Seriously?!
Purchased a $4 baileys coffee creamer, they charged my card $46.37. Of course I should have looked at my receipt.
Always understaffed. If you have a pickup expect a very long wait at the pharmacy counter.
Pharmacy is not open 24 hours and the shelves are always empty. Either out of stock or receiving merchandise.
This place is cramped & dirty & the pharmacists were rude & not helpful. Their phones were even down, so they couldnt transfer the prescription...AFTER I waited in line. I took back my empty bottle & my business to Walgreens/Duane Reade.
I wish I could give these people zero stars. It is a full time job dealing with these people and cvs mail order pharmacy. Highly frustrating missing refills and spending hours on the phone trying to get my order.
They are very rude there only a few nice girls but most of the managers are buttheads and care about the customers especially eddy and eric
The pharmacy is a mess. Super unhelpful and always with an issue.
Good for getting The needs
Convenient with everything you need
I printed a photo and because it looked like a passport photo, they want d me to pay for passport photos.
Always an issue filling prescriptions. Always. Rude staff, store is filthy and store always looks like theyre going out of business.
Rude staff and always has problem to use the coupons and rewards.
If only they hired more humans.
Always out of stock and 250% overpriced. Seriously check stores online. But its the neighborhood CVS/Duane Reade so I always go back.
Worst pharmacy ever. Poorly managed and understaffed. Filling a prescription is generally a 45 minute endeavor.
Just convenient
Standard CVS. Often long lines
It has everything I need
Dont have Verizon cards
Not 24 hours
A regular CVS.
Friendly staff
Frankly nothing to say
Quite a variety of products and not too excessive prices
