Best selection of beer Ive ever seen in a supermarket, although they have a lot of beer out of code, great produce and sushi bar, as well as a good assortment of organic products. Prices are high for this neighborhood, very long wait to pay, cashiers are most of the time lost, and I never seen anybody supervising. Finally they have merchandise with 2 labels completely unacceptable.
This place is awesome. I go there for the deli, and for the beer. The stock on the beer is quite vast. Only took away a star cuz its a far commute but other than A-plus. Cashiers and staff are friendly, good food, and good beer as stated previously!
If you go at the right time there is no line to get in and the checkout goes very quickly. The produce is always very fresh and they have some great sales so I like to check the circulars weekly. And they have a great selection of bakery items, pizza, soup and the hot food. The BBQ chicken and sweet potatoes are yummy.
Lived in the area a long while but never shopped in the store. Had some other errands to run and thought I would pick up my groceries while out.The store is multi level, with a section of prepared items. Downstairs is produce, dry & canned products, a butcher and fish monger.Decent store for the area, but there is a huge MICE/RODDEN issue in the store. The check out is strange and slow. The entire area needs to be redesigned.
Best grocery store for miles!! Quality fruits & veggies, great prices, variety of brands, healthy options every where but not like a health foods store. Great beer section and fresh seafood!!
Place is pretty expensive for the area! But love their bakery is nice and I always pick myself up desserts from there. Some stuff I find here is a steal and some stuff is way overpriced. Hit or miss but a one stop shop for everything.
Always fully stocked. Always great cuts of meat. Even has a beer floor. Yeah. I said BEER FLOOR!!! Sorry will take picks next time.
Excellent neighborhood grocery store with large selection and great prices. Grab and go sushi platters are great, beer is very reasonably priced, and there is variety of groceries available to satisfy everyones taste. Would recommend.
They have great vegan options, competitive prices, and great selection. Highly recommend this shop to anyone living in the area.
Love the stores emphasis on fresh produce. I refrain from purchasing processed food, so this is a huge plus. Prices of fruits & veggies are extremely attractive, making eating healthy as economical as can be. Also in my 3 years living in NYC & Long Island, I saw for the first time apples being sold for 19 cents/ lb. Now thats a good deal.
Love this place. Good food, good desserts and nobody really in your way. Ive been getting off on 116 street on my way back from work or going down on my days off. Been going much less to 147 street St. Nicholas Avenue Foodtown since discovering Best Market of Harlem.
Family owned chain with good prices and a great beer selection. Weekends things can run out, there can be long lines and need to plan, but otherwise an excellent neighborhood grovery store with seasonal plants and flowers, a good deli and bakery and good presentation
I wanted to say that my daughter and I recieved the best customer service provided by a young man named Paco who works for the hot foods department. This young man works very hard and took the time to serve us a hot meal with a friendly smile and conversation that just made my day. This man deserves a raise and employee recognition for outstanding service.
I usually dont have any problems... this evening I had to return a supposedly fresh apple pie because it was frozen...3 young cashiers went into a corner whispering and one came out saying saying they come like that..I told her no they dont...frozen pies are in the freezer case not on a shelf..she went on to say I can say no to a refund...Wow! Because they froze them to try to sell fresh...but the other young lady gave me my refund. Over the years there customers service has gone out the door!
Staff at registers have no customer service skills, no “thank you for shopping”, no manners what so ever. Call for next customer while one is still packing their shopping and someone is right beside you. Should be fined for not adhering to social distancing rules.
Best market in the area. They keep it clean and when stuff is on sale, its some of the best prices youll find in the city (comparable to Traders). The store is a bit of a maze and takes getting used to and spoiler: its eventually going to become an Aldi. Now the bad: the cashiers/checkout process somehow is one of the worst ever. I dont understand why it always takes so long. Most of the time, they are busy aimlessly talking to each other or to their friends. If I can see the line go back to the sushi, Ill bounce and come back later at night. Other than that, great spot.
One of Harlems Best Kept Secrets! I visited the store today and I loved it! The Seafood was Awesome, I will definitely be back.
Today I purchased bread that was expired. Today is 2/13/20, the bread packaging label says not to sell past 2/11/20. Now, normally I wouldnt care, but I feel like Best (Yet) Market is getting lazy because they know that they are closing. They are also understaffed during peak hours. It is absolutely ridiculous that I have to stand in line for 15 minutes for four items. I am not happy with this place anymore; its like the end of customer service and quality of product because theyre closing. At least end on a high note, you know what Im saying? Sad.
Decent grocery store for basics. Prices are very reasonable and affordable. I have never seen anything in this store that I thought was overpriced. Staff is very nice, clean store, lines move fast, nice shopping experience.
Horrible customer service, long lines and mediocre prepared foods. Avoid this place if you can.
Love this I come from Brooklyn to Shop there.
I used to like shopping at this food store but lately the workers are getting very rude. I was there today and the girl with the green hair at the food counter just walked away because I told her I didn’t want the scraps of brisket because it was dry and she just walked off!! I guess she was having bad day Next we went to on the check out line to pay, the cashier boldly told us “for gutter reference, thus is for 15 items or less! (There was no other one on the line)😯 whatever happened to customer service?! I’ll gladly fine other food store to give my money to I thought I was the only one noticed the poor customer service but after reading other reviews I see it’s not. Who is the manager? Don’t they care ?;
This market is a great spot to pick up fresh or packed groceries. They have pretty good bread selection, bakery and freshly squeezed juices and smoothies add well. Prepared food section is also worth mentioning add they have daily prepared sandwiches, sushi, soups and microwave ready stuff like meat balls or chicken breast. Now something that is really worth mentioning is their beer selection. Head downstairs and youll get a whole floor dedicated to craft beer. Their prices are really good and the staff at the checkout lane is fat and efficient.
Im a huge fan of the Best Yet Market in Harlem. The prices are quite reasonable and the selection is varied. Im impressed that they continue to grow their gluten free food and beverage selection and work hard to try to make sure their gluten free items are properly labeled. My only complaint is when new sale prices are made for items their computer system doesnt always reflect the sale price. But the managers are always quick to offer a reimbursement when this error occurs.
Great products at reasonable prices. The service however is to be desired. Unprofessional cashiers who apparently find it impossible to smile. I rarely get checked out by a cashier who seems happy to be there. Most of them appear to be so angry to be ringing up guests. Note to staff: no one’s forcing you to be at a job that you don’t like. If you’re unhappy then leave. Perhaps I’ll save the rodent issue for another review...just a stickler for semi-decent service.
They have some of hhe rudest employees. Went for pizza but called first they said it was going in the oven. When I got there i patiently waited the guy making it was rude as always but today seemed extremely annoyed said its not ready yet. After waiting 15 more minutes watching him mumble under his breath to the older employee. I decided to leave. Its not good anyway but to have an attitude is another
I would not go there again not only did I eat salmon there and ended up in the hospital but I continued to buy only fruits or like frozen items(anything they did not personally prepare). I tried to get a refund on some rotten fruit I purchased with photo proof and the receipt and they told me I shouldve keep that spoiled grapes to show them and Im coming from brooklyn all the way to harlem. (I went before and the lady said as long as I come back with the receipt I will get the refund, I did so and nothing)After this incident I refuse to go here and spend my money again, I will take my business elsewhere and only go here on my employers behalf. Ctown is two blocks down and it is worth it, their fruits are fresher anyways.
I love best market, fresh produce all the time, fresh meat selection, 5 for 20 special is awesome. Nothing complicated as others noticed, if you think lower floor is a maze, considering see a dr. Maybe you have an orientation problems. As other markets if you see something expired just notify the manager, do not buy it, is because somebody isnt doing a good job. Excellent store hours, from 6am to midnight. Overall best market is the best market at 10026 zip code area.
One of the best supermarkets in the West Harlem neighborhood. Decently priced, and a great selection of almost everything youd expect to find at a large supermarket chain. Friendly staff, and good prepared food section as well.
Hopefully the conversion to a LIDL supermarket will toss out the old rude employees, security guards, and management, and bring in something better. The people who live in this neighborhood for generations have long been dumped and preyed upon by disrespectful people.
I dont understand, when I get up, I usually go to best market for a bagel and cream cheese. I get up late in the afternoon, I would like to have this before my day starts. Now I am told you dont do this anymore, whats up. Also my family is all ways shopping there. Please help me understand. People who work in the afternoon cant have breakfast. From understand
Best place to shop around here! Always has good prices and fresh produce.
Love this place. You can get all your groceries here, plus extras like pizza, baked goods, barbecue, soups, etc. The prices are reasonable and the lines arent that bad. The upstairs has a wide selections of beers and you can buy a growler. The basement has all the grocery items like meat, canned goods, cereals, milk, etc. The main floor is where you can get meals to go, pizza, baked goods, soups, snacks, etc.
Best Yet has got the very best prices in town! They have a great selection in a convenient location. Those in the know go to Best Yet! Their produce is inexpensive, fresh and tasty! Dont bother with the other markets in the area ... a waste of time.
Nice store for the area, good selection, though Im always disappointed w Beer World. The bottled selection is great, but nearly every time I go, there is either no staff up there, or someone running the register who isnt much help. Especially if youre trying to get a growler filled. They always struggle to figure out what exactly is tapped, and all but once, its taken several employees to figure out how to even use them. Too bad, because it would be a great draw, but I wont try again for a while.
A neighborhood jewel. Great selection, wonderful fresh produce, meats, fish, deli etc. Awesome beer store on the top floor. Fresh flowers for cheap. Yummy bakery. Has it all.
Best Yet is one of the worst markets in Harlem! I dont know whats up with Tuesdays, but they cant seem to get it together! Lines are way too long.
DO NOT SHOP HERE. Their employee asked me if I had a tag for my service dog, I told him no. He then told me I had to leave the supermarket ( incorrect and illegal). When I refused and told him it was against the law he proceeded to argue with me grabbing my cart out of my hand telling me to go to a ghetto supermarket like ctown ( as if this is a high end supermarket ha!) with my dog and then had the nerve to say I thought I could get away with it because Im white and privileged -also incorrect I’m Cuban and Jamaican but inappropriate either way. This employee needs to be educated on the law and terminated, how they employ people like this is beyond me. Disgusted . Zero stars
My favorite local grocery store. They have a great selection including fresh fruit & vegetables, a fish dept., a bakery, a hot food bar & they make delicious pizza. Theres also a huge beer section upstairs. Its a little expensive but less than Whole Foods. The staff doesnt really seem to know what theyre doing, not all of them, but Ive asked a question a few times and just got a blank stare and umm...I dont really know, maybe its over there somewhere - Thank you. Ill find it myself. Definitely one of the better stores in the area.
Amazing supermarket where you can find everything youre looking for. The products are really good: fruits, vegetables, meat, fish, sushis... everything is so fresh! Bonus: they have a huge selection of beers from all over the world. Really love this place!
Not a pleasant shopping experience anymore. Customer service has deteriorated significantly. Even when the store is not busy, the staff always seems to be too preoccupied to service customers in a timely manner. I try not to shop there anymore unless I really need something. The pizza is good.
Pretty expensive for the area! But love their bakery is nice and I always pick myself up desserts from there. Some stuff I find here is a steal and some stuff is way overpriced. Hit or miss but a one stop shop for everything
They have probably the most impressive beer selection in Northern Manhattan. I would shop there more often, but most of the time it is a frustrating experience at the checkout. When you try to do the right thing and return recycling bottles, the checkout staff will treat you disrespectful and make it extra hard. They have no problem selling you high-end craft beers for $20 a bottle, but when they are supposed to take back the same refund bottle, they will treat you like a bum. The store manager could learn a thing or two about customer satisfaction.
My favorite food store now. You can find almost anything you want. The lower level it is a bit confusing because it is packed with a lot of things. I will rate with 5 stars because they have
A lot of the produce and cut meats were old or about to expire within a couple days. Large selection of items though. Like the pizza slices at the front. Probably would come back for the pizza. Prices ok. I would not come here to buy produce though. Disappointed
This grocer is clean with decent prices. Beer selection is great. Good selection of prepared foods too.
Wonderful local grocery store. It will become Lidl soon so curious to see what changes.
A great supermarket with 2 floors. Huge variety of fresh foods, vegetables and more. Prices are reasonable
White Bread was completely green with mould. The price tag had another 6 days to go! The rye bread was so stale I had to toast it.The manager blamed Silver bell, but the date on the tag was from best Market! Its the first and last time I shop there for fresh food. The cash register arrangement is also very amature.
I have always had a pleasant experience here. The employees are pleasant and helpful. The merchandise is of good quality
I am sure you can do it better with the cues... You always have to wait 15 mins cueieng as a stupid. I prefer to go to other supermarkets where I dont have to wait.
The beef brisket at the wood fired meats section is to die for. Try it while youre here! Its also a good place for groceries ha!
This store has the widest selection of goods from all over the world. The location, which is in Harlem, caters to everyone, from the tourists, to the local residents of Harlem. The prices are cheap, affordable to the people. Definitely a place to shop for fresh produce and meats at lower prices than big stores such as Whole Foods.
Good selection; helpful staff. Quality produce.
There arent a lot of grocery store options around this area, and Best Market is one of the better ones. I was told by friends to wait to check out was super long, and I couldnt believe how true that was. But they seemed to have everything we needed
Its awesome place to shop. They also have a great soul food selection. I love this place.
Price ScamThe problem of Best Yet Market-Harlem is the Yellow Tag Price Scam.Lets say you pick a product that says: Before was 6.99, now 3.99They will charge you the full amount that is 6.99If you are not looking every item you buy here they will steal a lot of money. It happened me three times already. So it is not a mistake, it is a policy of the company. When you complain, be ready to have the product with you and the same exact credit card you use. Otherwise youll have to come back again. So be careful when you buy here, they count that only 1 (one) customer between 10.000 (ten thousand) asks a refund. If the same happened to you in this or other market. Complain and post a review, youll be helping everybody. I wish if NY State have some fines or control over this type of scams.
Customer service is good though. Weird checkout line setup. Downstairs is a maze. If we were filming the Shining Jack would kill me down there.
Awesome hot food, fantastic cheese department, and a wide range of adult beverages both alcoholic and non. The check out queue is usually a pretty long wait, but no complaints other than that.
Love the mix of food - great beer too. All the produce is healthy and super fresh
I went to Best Market on 1/16/2019 and I purchased coffee for $7.99. While I carried my purchase to the escalators, I noticed that I was being followed by their security. The culture of this establishment needs to get their act together. Needless to say I had a horrible experience in this super market.
I Love this supermarket!!!
One of the best grocery in the area. Great products and fair prices
My favorite grocer in this area, it has a wide selection and very good prices. They also have a lot of beer options and a small selection of freshly prepared foods
Neighborhood gem. Great prices, fresh produce, almost everything you need. The beer selection is amazing too.
Just purchased a pound of boars head honey turkey & 1 pound of land o lakes yellow American cheese on 3/26/17, today 3/28/17 I opened both for 1st time to make an sandwich and the turkey smells like bad a funny spoil smell and the cheese do not look fresh it looks very dried out! I am so disappointed in the quality of my purchase because I was a very very valued loyal customer of Best Market in Harlem until now. This is ridiculous as to how you guys are selling products like this now.... Check out all your Deli meat because I use to recommend Best Market Deli because of the fresh cold cuts not anymore. Looks like this store is over- rated now just like the other businesses throughout the New Harlem community. Check your products before the health department has to come check them. Just how the mice have been seen running around Best Market, mice nibbles on the bread and who knows what else, I notice the change in alot of the staff as well so I am sure that have alot to do with the quality and cleanliness..
Good variety of fresh foods, coffee, snacks. Loved the sushi
Great health food here! Cant find organic carrot juice anywhere else in the area.
A great place for picking up groceries of all types. The layout is a bit wonky but it is three levels with beers upstairs and most of the groceries in the lower level.
Our neighborhood grocery store has a large selection and everything you need, from groceries to bakery to sushi bar, to fresh fruit smoothies to fresh fish and much more.
The Best Yet market is great to shop in I enjoy the choices. They need to invested in getting better cashiers.
They sell almost everything plus the pizza is great here.
Very bad customer service. The workers were not trained to be friendly to customers. Some of them are very rude. I hate to say this but it is typical ghetto behavior. They are loud, (even when a customer is near by), they act as if you are not there. They have attitudes...generally just pissed at the world and not friendly.
When Pumkin Escobar needs beer and groceries, this is where he goes to get his shop on in detail. Everything from cooked eats to sushi, soup and sandwiches. For real, this place is a haven. The soups here will sustain you when the cold winds of winter set upon your bones. But the true gem of this temple of eats is the BEER WORLD. Brews from all over the world are here and they are all just waiting for you to come and get that love on. Come to this place, they have built it for you.
The rats love the food. Disgusting and no staff will address it
Awful customer service
Their sushi 🍥 is better than a lot of sushi restaurants I know 😉
Excellent products and fresh food!
Great store in Harlem..I do feel like they belong in that spot too...great products...great prices....That might be changing now that the neighborhood is becoming a little lighter...But it might get better...
This supermarket is dope. 3 levels in the market. Prices are greats and It has it own floor full of craft beer!!!!
Great prices for quality food and produce. My favorite shop in Harlem
At first i liked the place until my mom went over there today & saw lil rats running around & quietly & politely told one of the workers theres rats running around & he replied maybe you are the one who brought them here my mom asked for the manager & another worker said FOR WHAT ?, so yeah 1 star for them for rude employes & bad customer service .
Like the fast prepared onsite sushi here and prices🤩🤩🤩
The bbq selection at the back of the store used to be great, side dishes mash potatoes, veggies etc,, are slacking off prices are ok, could be better.
No answer ever on the phone
Very good grocery store. good selection, prices, and some prepared foods.
No matter what time of day the lines are always ridiculous. Staff more people!!!
Its a good place to buy any food you want in New York City
Bought 2 small boxes of sushi - a delight
Decent prices and great selections. I can usually find what i need.
One of the few best grocery stores in nyc and its located in Harlem!
Store managers actually listen to you and follow up. I love both Victors.
Best grocery store in the area when you consider price and variety.
Good food, and it is a pleasant place to shop.
