One tiny room, and the books are like art—like really cool art exhibitions you can touch and read. Love it. I felt intimidated but the staff were totally welcoming and warm. Also great people watching—some who came in looked like the covers of the 1980’s magazines on display except even more sculpted and modern.

This fairly new bookstore was the best part of my recent trip to Manhattan. With many other brick and mortar bookstores now closed Left Bank Books fills a much needed gap. Expect a very good selection of art and design books each hand picked, well curated/selected and described. Books and ephemera from the 60s onward priced at every level, from $20 to $3,600. The books are all for the most part neatly wrapped in mylar and again well described. Come out and support the proprietors behind this shop, its small and tiny but well worth a trip to the village. If you miss the rare book room at the Strand (still closed due to COVID-19 and the economy) then this is your new shop. Highly Recommend, A+

You can really find some rare books here. Some first edition books, like Lolita and Tokyo luck hole.

Incredible curated collection of unique books at all price points. Their books change frequently, so there is always something new to check out. Also, they have great website and fast shipping if you cant get to NYC in person.

I have not been into the shop yet, but I had the best experience ordering online. I found three books on their website that were perfect for Christmas gifts, so I ordered and had them shipped to me. They arrived ahead of schedule, and were perfect! The condition for each was exactly as described, and they were beautifully wrapped and protected for shipping. Im now a big fan of Left Bank Books and I look forward to my next trip to NY so that I can go in and browse in person!

A great little bookstore that had a nice selection of first editions.

Not enough book stores like this left in Manhattan, especially in this neighborhood. Small place, but any antiquarian book collector in the NYC area should keep this store on their radar. The selection is pretty diverse and there is definitely something for everyone, collector or not.

Gem in the village. Amazing finds! Collection is curated with a hint of eccentricity. Cool shop...check it out.
