The name says it all. Wonderful little bookstore specializing in all things food! After searching several other places for anything written by Ludwig Bemelmans and coming up empty handed, Kitchen Arts and Letters had exactly what I needed. Any book lover will appreciate this spot.

This has been a favorite bookstore - my travel, cooking, and food-loving family frequented this bookstore while I was growing up - since I was a very small child. It’s just the same as ever! A gem, with so much personality and warmth and knowledge. A very special place.

If you are a cook, a foodie, or are looking for a gift for someone who is this is your place. A wide array of books about food not just cookbooks but bios, theory, philosophy...Take your time to look around. Its jam packed. If you are looking for something particular they can be very helpful. This place is a legend. Customers like Julia Child and James Beard were there early on. If you have any interest in food beyond sustenance go out of your way to visit this shop.

I was in the store last week. Bonnie was gracious and kind as I posed a number of questions. Her selection is amazing. In addition to the great selection, Bonnie is part of a larger community of passionate purveyors of books and happily gave us a list of other local book sellers. Bonnie and her shop set the standard for the rest of NYC--world class selection and friendly, genuine service. Whether you are from uptown or across the world, you wont regret a stop and perusal at Bonnies.

For restaurant kitchen folk this place is heaven when it comes to books. Not always the best price but at least you can flip through them and decide if you want to buy the book. Also if youre diligent you will find steals and deals. The owner is a lovely person, hospitality people will without a doubt enjoy conversing with him or any of the staff.

This place is interesting as there is a lot of cookbooks. Interesting to see different cuisines in different styles on the shelves. The people who work there know their books and know all the books and the subject matter. Interesting to see some books that are in other languages and those books containing pictures that are gorgeous and beautiful. Definitely a place to get cookbooks.

This is one of my favorite places in the world. If you love any kind of food related literature this is the place to go. Everything from books to manuals to magazines to original advertisements. Its a small store but the owner is usually there and is incredibly well versed so if they dont have something chances are he either can get it or tell you where to look.

I came here with my wife who works in a restaurant, and we ended up spending 30 minutes browsing through the shelves. It is impressive the quantity of good books they carry about food and cooking. Its a great place if you work in the culinary industry, are passionate about it or youre looking for a gift for someone.

It is a bookstore dedicated to food and drink, from those old stores, small, a little crowded, without much affect, but with an owner who knows exactly where each title is, the kind that you can only see in the movies today. Opened in 1983, it is reduced only in space, there are more than 12 thousand titles, from commercial recipe books to historical ones, in addition to the “sections” (if we call the shelves without any indication) dedicated to confectionery, wine and cocktail. It has releases from all over the world and titles already sold out, rarities and specialized magazines. Chef Julia Child and James Beard, author of cookbooks, are some of the names that have been there. And even today, it is possible to run into some chef from the city or passing through in search of a lost title. [ESTADÃO]
