Owner John Martin and his team are making the world better one bike at a time ! They put me back on the road for one fifth what a new parts bike shop would have to charge. They recycle donated bikes....We take donated bikes, fix them up, and get them out to people who need them....Volunteers and mechanics at the Bradley Street Bicycle Co-op repair all the bikes and get them ready for donation or for sale. Some get sold as affordable used bikes for people to commute on. Some are donated to organizations who work with adults trying to get a job, trying to get to work, or trying to just get around the city....New Haven and Connecticut beyond has a particularly acute need to address income inequality – our city has the sixth greatest income inequality of all cities in the United States....
Love this place, love the people who make it happen, and love them bikes they sell. I bought my first bike ever here, a vintage frame made custom by a maker that no longer exists. Their help with repairs and such is also great. I wouldnt go anywhere else in New Haven unless I wanted major, major modifications.
Such a welcoming and friendly environment. Not only do they attend to your bike needs but they’re super informative and the place is overall welcoming and enjoyable. I highly recommend you come here for all your bike needs.P.S: loved my experience so much I decided to volunteer here!
Danielle is very professional and I appreciate it very much! If I were smart, Id buy my bike from them. It was too late when I figured out that I got scammed on Facebook market place.
Great place if you want help and tools and parts for fixing your bicycle.
These people are great. If a place like this exists, its a positive indicator about the health of the local community and civics. Go there, participate however you can/want, get what you need.
Brilliant community-driven and committed place. Donated bikes to them. A true gem of new haven. Support them!
I bought a used bike here for less than $300 and its in great shape thanks to their shop. This is a unique community resource that I think is very worth visiting and supporting. It seems like a great community as well if you want to volunteer.
A model community bike project, superlative.
This place is great if you want to fix your bike for cheap and dont mind getting your hands dirty. They offer lots of used parts at cost and use of their tools for next to nothing. Plus, their volunteers will give you pointers on what to do.
Get inexpensive repairs to your bicycle where you pay ten dollars to do it yourself with the help of experienced volunteers guiding you, along with use of tools, equipment and mechanics bike stand. Discounted parts are extra. The Co-op also sells quality used but refurbished roadworthy bikes which are usually priced between $150 to $300. This place is generally staffed with helpful people doing wonderful things to put more people on bikes, and regularly charitably donates many bikes to adults and children in need.
First time I hear about this place! We felt welcomed and everyone helped out. Andrew helped us in a heartbeat, very nice gentleman. Overall I think this is a great place, every one willing to help, its past 7 and they still here. My son is happy everyone helped him. Im so thankful! Thank you guys, for your help and time!!
Great spot, great help and community.Quick fixes and access to tools
This place is really cool. The kind of place that makes a community better.
Very expensive for bad quality bikes
Excellent place for your cycle/bike services. They have all tools and people to help us, and we can repair ourselves. Love going there again in future if needed. Definitely must visit place.
I randomly googled a bike shop in the area when my bike broke during a ride. They were the only ones open and thank goodness! The co-op style meant that I got to help and learn during the repair process. Very reasonable prices and you walk away with a fixed bike and more knowledge!
This was honestly the best experience I’ve ever had with a bike shop the staff are so friendly and welcoming and if u don’t understand something they will help or do it for u and they have almost every tool for a bike
Phenomenal people, phenomenal cause. Friendly and fun to work here. Highly recommended for volunteering, fixing your own bike or buying a new one.
Great place. Good for getting a second hand bike that is thoughtfully prepared.
Amazing place. Very friendly and welcoming and great deals on bikes and parts.
A great co-working space where you bring your bike in and everyone helps fix it and teach you how to fix it. The owner is especially helpful!
Fantastic community bike shop that is friendly, social and super convenient. Whether you have a flat tire, want to learn how to fix your bike yourself, are looking to start a project of some kind, want to buy an inexpensive but reliable used bike or just want to hang out, this is a great spot!
The owner stayed over an hour after closing to help finish my repair. Great place and great staff!
Great space with friendly folks who are excited to help you fulfill your bicycle frame-making or repair dreams. The frequent happy hours, block parties and cycling events are fun, too.
Great owner, great place to learn about bikes and a real sense of community is starting to happen here!
Learn how to maintain your bike, and how to fix up others to support an awesome non-profit!
Great people, great knowledge, build your own bike.
Very friendly place to get used parts at a discount, and you can use their equipment to do your own repairs.
