Alkebu Lan Images is a phenomenal Black owned Bookstore! The staff is knowledgeable and courteous. The selection of books, T-shirts, incense, jewelry, statues, body oils and products is top notch. This is definitely a destination I visit everytime I am in Tennessee.Black bookstores are vital to the community and need to be supported! I LOVE this store ❤️

Before traveling to TN, I looked up places of interest and came upon this bookstore. So glad I did, its amazing. Everything you could ever imagine for African American books, childrens books, art work, figurines, holistic items and alkaline water. Thank you for such a well put together black business.

Love this low key Book and Essential cultural environment. Ive been coming to this store since college and they have really upgraded and a have more to offer the community at large. They carry local brands within so you can definitely support a black owned business and vendor that has been pivotal in the Jefferson st and North Nashville community for a very long time along with local vendors. The lady that runs it is very pleasant and easy going. I enjoy stopping in from time to time for essentials and they also offer a points program now that allows for discounts with future purchases. I like this because it is a very great way to give back. Lots of great cultural items here as well so if youre looking for a way to anoint your sanctuary this is a great place to start.

If I remember correctly, the young lady who helped us name was Brea. She was very knowledgeable & friendly. The store felt so warm & cozy. Plenty of African American products ranging from herbs to books to decor. Definitely a must visit gem!! We will be back!!

We drove over an hour today to visit this Nashville treasure. They have a fantastic selection of books ranging from black history, civil rights, activism, herbalism, biography, etc. The childrens section was stocked with a variety of beautiful choices featuring black characters mostly written by black authors. The ambience and the friendliness of the staff was perfect. This was so worth the trip. Ill definitely be back.

What an AMAZING experience! We came to Nashville for a funeral and just happened upon this gem. The variety of books was phenomenal. We got something for everyone in the family from the 6 yo to the 60 yo (LOL) and everyone in between. We also purchased some heavenly bath and body products. What a pleasure to support black business and authors. There happened to be an author in the store- of course we bought his book and was able to get it signed for the kids.
