I wanted to make kabobs and I didn’t have the traditional long, flat skewers. I knew I’d find them at this grocery/butcher/restaurant.Not only did they help me find the skewers I was looking for, but recommended awesome lamb chops, chicken kabob pieces and minced meat all marinated for my bbq.They also added the perfect touch with recommending yogurt/cucumber mix, tabouleh, pita and hummus.I have shared many pictures of the results and bbq.

Friendly and amazing staff, great variety of options to choose from in the restaurant section and everything is fresh and delicious. Love their pies which are sold over the counter especially the meat pie.

I just moved to the area and was looking for a good place to buy fresh pita, hummus, falafel and garlic sauce. I used to buy from Pita House grocery store in Skokie and was looking for something similar (there is a Pita House in Naperville but its 20min drive from my house). Waited for a while for someone to take my order for falafel but nobody did. Asked the deli guy if they had fresh pita, he said something and went to the back of the kitchen and then disappeared. Finally just bought hummus and garlic sauce and took home but both had an off-putting smell after opening the lids. I tasted both and the garlic sauce had a thick layer of olive oil and salty olive juice, I threw it instantly. Hummus seems to be ok but not worth me making a 17 min trip from my house. Will continue looking for something closer to my house.

Great clean store with fresh and great products. They have high quality meat that tastes great! Very friendly and professional staff. They used to serve free tea to customers and it made me feel like home and welcomed in their store. They made me feel I was a part of the community rather than just another customer. Their hospitality, service, and products tops the others stores in our area. I also pick up quick dinners from here that are delicious!

I have nothing but awesome things to say about this store. I always find what I need, a young man at the deli counter not only answered my question, but walked me up to the front freezer to find what I needed. Then at checkout, to my surprise, as I was checking out, the gentleman who was ringing me out, thanked me for my past review and called me by name. Never have I felt so welcomed in a grocery mart. I wish I would have gotten their names. I look forward to trying the shwarma next time I go. My Ramadan blessing was finding this oasis where I feel at home. الحمدالله

This review is long overdue because this is a real Oasis and not a Mirage. The grocery store is packed with goodies from the Middle East and South Asia. The meat shop has poultry, beef and lamb which may be a lil expensive compared to your local Jewel but way better quality.The restaurant serves some of the best mid eastern food in the area period which is surprising given their primary business is selling groceries. I can go on forever about the awesomeness of this place where while waiting in line for my food order, they served complimentary green tea (solid move bro). Totally set me up to enjoy the amazing beef and chicken shawarma along with the combination platter.

Everything is overpriced and a lot of food is kept open. I would recommend people to drive some far to bridgeview and get stuff as its 30-40% less priced. I feel fortunate to have such delicious food nearby! The Shawerma (chicken or beef) is very fresh and well-seasoned. The flat bread is pillowy and never dry.Since I am not familiar with this style of food, the chef and workers are always kind enough to explain the menu or grocery items to me, which is greatly appreciated.They also have an impressive deli with hard-to-find cuts of lamb and other meats. In addition, there is a vast selection of raw beans, soup items, tea leafs, and various essentials for home-cooking.Overall, between the nice people who work here, and the selection/quality, I highly recommend Mediterranean Oasis!

What can be said about Mediterranean Oasis that hasnt already been said? Its a great place to go, be it for grocery shopping or for lunch/dinner. Its your basic, divey, hole-in-the-wall joint that offers everything that that designation should afford it.Let me first start with how kind these people are. Incredibly, incredibly nice and kind gentleman who make you feel right at home. Im a 5 foot 2 inched people mcnugget who has never had to reach for the top shelf in this store because someone or the other comes rushing to my aid to help me. On EVERY occasion, I find something new to try from the grocery aisle, and their meat is always super clean, especially of fat, so much so that I know I can take it straight from the butchers hand to the pan (except lamb, they tend to leave some fat on that, be forewarned, as the lamb and goat in Mediterranean cuisine is generally cooked with its fat - but for this, just clarify that youd like it cleaned of all fat, please). Also, they have an array of lovely drinks in their fridge, and a bunch of sweets that are absolutely a delight. Do give some of these things a try, they will not disappoint!Now, lets talk about the food; this is where Mediterranean Oasis surpasses all expectation. When you walk up to the food window, right away, you will see a bunch of different meats and rice, and veggies on display, but there is SO much more in the menu. They have a very wonderful Lunch menu, from Monday-Thursday that has very generous portions, but their sandwiches are extremely filling as well. Some of the stand out things on the menu are:Lamb Shank (Dinner) - if youre a fan of lamb, this is a MUST try! They literally give you a bone in lamb shank, surrounded by a bed of roasted veggies, with fall of the bone, succulent and unctuous meat, laden with flavor. They also give you saffron rice, salad and hummus along with it. Beware though, theres enough meat and accompaniments here to easily feed two people!Lamb Kabob Sandwich (or Dinner) - guys, Im not kidding. The only other place Ive eaten lamb meat so damn perfectly done (the perfect cook) was at a Michelin star restaurant in San Francisco ages ago. This is the only other meat that comes even close! I actually prefer this in sandwich form, as the sauces and the veggies along with the pita make each bite a perfect bite! But theres so much meat in the sandwich I sometimes have to take some chunks out for it to fit in my mouth!XXX-Spicy Chicken - if youre not a fan of spicy food, this is not for you. But if you are, this chicken is a zinger when it comes to flavor. Paired with their garlic sauce, in sandwich or dinner form, this chicken is top-notch.Whole Chicken- they have a spatch-cocked whole chicken that is extremely simple, lovely in flavor, and similar to rotisserie chicken (but better!). Its the definition of comfort food, especially paired with their rice!Whole Fish - yes they have fish as well, but not every day, so if youre going for this specifically, it may be a good idea to call in advance. The fish is fried whole, and has a lovely crust to it. The bones are still in, which can be a nuisance, but those of us who are Seafood fanatics know thats what imparts the juiciness and flavor to the meat. This is a real delight for those of us who want a change in pace from all the lamb and chicken (I dont really eat beef).Truly, everything on their menu is fantastic! From their dolmas (stuffed great leaves), to their lamb ouzi. I would recommend going there, every week or another, and trying something new. I have yet to be disappointed by anything Ive eaten there. And there are still things on the menu that I have not gotten to! I absolutely LOVE this place. Also, if youre into tea, they have some AMAZING flavored tea (no milk, flavored with cardamom and other spices), which is not on the menu and they dont sell it, but if you ask for it, they may have some prepped!

The place is clean, has good grocery and the staff was friendly, but I feel there is no transparency with the customer. This was my first time buying from there and I felt little cheated. I bought cheese from the fridge and it was priced but still the cashier took it and weighed it and added around 25% to the price. Also, there was this item with no price tag while all other items has one. It turned out it is a very expensive item related to other similar items, so they dont show the price for more expensive items so you get tricked into buying them. fishy behavior to say the least. Overall, my experience was bad. I wouldnt recommend it. If you have to go there, just be aware of the prices.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Amazing selection of olives, and found the makdous we were looking for. The house made labneh is delicious. We also grabbed 2 shawarma wraps which were the best we’ve had. We drove 25 miles to come here and will be back soon.

I’m originally from montreal, Canada and middle eastern food is one of the main cuisines we grow up on there. I walked into this store, and it was my dream come true!! Fresh marinated meats, all the wonderful sides snd fresh fried falafel that melts in your mouth! For my vegetarian body...it’s perfect. Love their salads and garlic sauce. Hummus. I bought a bunch of sides snd their whole roasted chicken. Served with rice!! My boys are loving it:) I appreciate paying a little more for items I would normally have to travel to another country for...so don’t mind paying for it. Everything I bought tastes delicious. And Faddy was truly a gentleman and helped bring my groceries to the car. Will be making this place my go to for middle eastern food and other items from now on:)

I love this store. I come in a couple of times a week for their falafel sandwiches. They are fresh and delicious, the best I’ve tried in the Chicago area. They have a wonderful deli selection, a large kitchen menu and tons of goodies from the Middle East. They also sell things like olive oil and hummus in bulk, and they’re good quality. Small dining area so you can eat there if you prefer. Everyone who works there is very kind. Definitely recommend.

This place is a piece of heaven! Can’t say we’ll ever stop coming here for the delicious foods, meats, and selection of groceries! They’re like a second family.

I have turned into a really big fan of their food. Everything is packed with so much flavor. Personally, I usually get the shawarama, either in lamb or chicken. So many ingredients that all meld into deliciousness. The rice, pitas, as well as their sauces are equally awesome. We have picked up fresh bread to go as well as hummus. Many options here from the freshly cooked foods to their grocery store and deli.

Went here for good meats and I was not disappointed. They grind meat to order which was great. Was greeted with a tea by friendly owners. This is great small local shop that I would love to go to. They also stock basic Indian grains and spices so that helps me!! Cant wait to find a reason to go back there! :)

Quality but expensive

The shawarmas are tasty, but then it gets old because there is little menu diversification. Everything is overpriced, including meat. However you pay for convenience and are limited because this shop is a monopoly in the area.

I went today for the first time and I love it. The guy on register was so nice. We ordered food and OMG... everybody at home said that it was delicious. Everything was fresh. Definitely Im gonna back soon. Thanks for the excellent service👏🏻👏🏻

Out of 5 Stars... I would give this place 10!! I love this place not only because of the amazing food, meat quality, and variety they carry, but its the customer service. There are categories of how to rate customer service like: Amazing, the best, excellent. Although Mediterranean fits all these categories, it does not justify the level of service I feel. What I feel when I come here is like I am at home, I am among my family. That is the level of customer service I receive which is beyond the ratings i listed above. May our Creator preserve this establishment and its people and pour his blessing on them all. if anyone is looking to be successful in their business, send your employees here to observe what customer service should be like.

The quality of meat here is always on point. Also, the restaurant located inside the store is my absolute favorite place to grab a quick bite or even a meal. It is simply THE best.

Very nice folks, great store that stocks many great items that you cant find in other grocery stores in the area . If you looking for healthy or vegetarian or maybe Mediterranean products or want to make something different or exotic for your table - these guys have it . Aks them for the cooking advise they will give you some great tips as well .They also have an open kitchen, so if you in a hurry or dont feel like cooking you can grab something Mediterranean on a go or sit down right there in a store and have a meal . Ive been a customer since then day they opened and highly recommend this place .

We love this place!!! The food is delicious and we stock up on spices and other treats when we come twice a year for Bible conventions. I really just walk around the store wanting to take a little bit of everything back home with me!
