Would be very weary of ordering a Subaru from this dealership. The salesperson I spoke with was named Steve. It was previously discussed that I would qualify for a supplier discount by working in the automotive industry. As well as coming from the Detroit area they said they were also giving me the discount because of that. No discussion of having to specifically be enrolled in the Subaru VIP program. I waited three months for this vehicle, communication back and forth all of the months, and two days prior they ask for the VIP coupon code. There was no discussion of having to be enrolled in this program in order to qualify - the text messages said an automotive supplier discount will qualify (in writing). The manager used the excuse via phone that were not mind readers. This should have been clearly stated prior to waiting three months for a car that it was a specific program. As well as being misled they were giving me this discount because I was going to be driving 2 1/2 hours to get the car from the Detroit area. Avoid this dealership and pay attention to the other negative reviews, the manager is *clearly* not helpful and not willing to make situations right.
One of the best car buying experiences ever. Marshal (Sales) and Bill (Financing) were both friendly and professional. No pressure, no tricks, just an honest deal. Marshal answered all my questions and is very knowledgeable on the vehicles. Bill walked me through the paperwork and went over every detail to ensure everything was in order. I flew from out state to do business here and would absolutely it again.
We went in to look at new Subarus. We spoke with the sales person Marshal. What a great experience. Marshal was very professional and knew the Subaru product line answering all of our questions. If you are looking I recommend trying My Subaru. I was pleasantly surprised compared to my visit 5 years ago.
Completely BUMMED out about the 2019 Subaru Outback I bought. Bill, the at the time, manager failed to understand and help me with the Subaru Lane Keep Assist option on the Outback. Told me Its the way it is. Could have explained, it can be turned off..The Outback was a great car to drive, except for Subaru Lane Keep Assist option, always attempting to correct and shake the steering.. But thats all done. Traded it off. No more Subaru Lane Keep Assist annoyance. Sour taste every time I think of this. Please dont bother me about this.......

I waited an hour and twenty minutes for my oil change. I was given a link to check on the status of my vehicle and it was never moved to complete (even now after paying it still isnt updated). Heather told me she called my name once in the lobby, but for whatever reason, I didnt hear her. She did apologize and offer a discount for next time. I wish she would have made more of an effort to communicate with me because I wasted a lot of time on a Saturday. Between updating the status of the vehicle online or giving me a text or a call, I would have really appreciated an effort to let me know my vehicle was ready to go.

Although the sale took longer than I had hoped, the overall process was painless. My salesperson Andrew B. was excellent at explaining and demonstrating the features of the car I bought and he answered all of my questions professionally and patiently. He also showed me several other Outbacks similar to the one I originally selected, and by explaining their differences made sure I picked the right vehicle. Plus, the free oil changes are a nice benefit of purchasing from this dealership. I will definitely be bring my car there for service.
I love my new car! The staff was very helpful in helping me find the perfect car for me. I wanted something with enough space to put groceries in the back and still be able to have enough space for someone to sit in the backseat. I was looking for something safe, reliable, and with good mpg. Subaru defiantly fits my needs. If you are considering something like a Prius, but you want a little more room and something that handles the snow with ease I would defiantly recommend the Subaru Impreza 5 door (hatchback). The safety features on this thing are unmatched by any of the other cars that I test drove. I had a wide range of selection while making my choice at My Subaru of Muskegon, and I am completely confident that they helped me find the perfect car for me! Ive been here a couple times since moving to the area in January and Ive always got friendly service. I just purchased a new car in October and it was a simple straightforward process.. theyve got the typical dealerships add-ons they want to offer, but theyre not pushy about it. The whole process was easy to do, and they did their part to keep things safe in a covid world.

Weve been trying to reach the general manager (anyone really) but does not seem competent enough to return our calls. To take advantage of 3 loyal (women) customers is low and disgusting. The price of an oil change and tire rotation and multipoint inspection is quite high here. They said they would wash the car which never got done. I asked them to check one of my tires that had a slow leak and they said the tires looked great. The tire was still low when I left service so I took it to Belle tire wherein they found a nail and repaired the tire. I now am wondering if they even changed my oil since there was no sticker to show the service.
I am a long time and multiple Subaru owner. Today I took one of our Foresters to Subaru in Muskegon for service (part of the My Import Family), although I did not purchase the car there. In the past, when needed, I have used another Subaru dealer in the Grand Rapids area for service and referred friends there to purchase vehicles - with very mixed results. Todays visit to Subaru of Muskegon was nothing but exceptional. I had an appointment, and was greeted promptly upon arrival. My car was taken in right then, and I was shown into the service waiting area - part of the showroom. The service manager (Eric Nash) showed me where I could get drinks and snacks while waiting, and pointed out the massage chairs that I should take advantage of while waiting. I wandered around the showroom at first and every single staff member I encountered - from the sales staff to the young boy who I think was in charge of cleaning cars on the lot - was unbelievably friendly! I didnt take the time to price out any vehicles while I was there, but prices dont change that much from dealer to dealer. I can tell you however that my next new Subaru WILL be purchased from Subaru of Muskegon solely based on my experiences today, and I cant wait to continue a relationship with them.(***special thanks to Eric Nash the Service Manager for patiently answering my 1000 questions!)

Andrew the salesman treated my very well and Mike the sales manager was very nice.A note to the response from the owner, I did setup a service appointment with Heather, who was responsive to my rather unusual service issue, and I had an exchange of emails with Andrew for some things Ill follow up on with him when I come next week for my service appointment.

I bought my daughter a 2010 Subaru Impreza off of the used lot that the dealership had replaced the timing belt and head gaskets on doing about $3,000 in total repairs just prior to my purchase. I was assured it was in good shape and ready to go just having the engine basically torn down to the block. Well about 30 days after the purchase the check engine light came on and I brought it back to the dealership where I was told it needed a new catalytic converter that would cost $300 or $400 in parts plus $900 in labor. Considering they just had the heads off the engine I questioned why they had not replaced the catalytic converter then and after some back and forth they agreed to split the cost with me so I ended up dropping about another $500 on it after a month of ownership. Well it wasnt long after I discovered it loses oil like crazy, about a quart a week. It goes through oil more than any vehicle Ive ever owned including a 1976 dodge duster. I have to constantly check my daughters oil or she will literally seize up this gone through engine. I have found it with as little as 1 quart of oil left in it after topping it off just two weeks prior. All she does is drive 6 miles to school daily and a little running around but it uses oil like gas. Now to top it off the front driver side wheel occasionally has the brakes hanging up. She actually come home tonight with the wheel smoking. I know used cars are a gamble but I expected more from a professional shop and mechanics particularly when the had the engine torn down to the block just prior to my purchase. It was the car my daughter wanted but perhaps I should have just bought the impala I wanted to get her.
⚠️DO NOT BRING YOUR SUBARU HERE⚠️Ive have never been more disappointed in Subaru of Muskegon. We got a second opinion in GR and they said they couldnt believe what muskegon was doing. They purposefully take advantage of their customers, especially women, and they always double the price. They are quite dishonest and manipulate cars so you always seem to have a problem and always bringing it in leaving with more damage. Grand Rapids or Troy, MI Subarus are transparent and dont scam their customers.

Absolutely wonderful wonderful dealership. We went there just for my mom to test drive the Forrester because the lease on her Equinox was almost up. She saw the Crosstek and loved it. No pushy salesmen came out to bug us. In fact, we had to go inside and ask for someone to come help (which we loved). We ended up with Steve. He was the best salesman I have ever encountered. He sold the car with his laid back personality and non pushy tactics. He went out of his way to take my mom to a rural area for her to test drive the car (i got transferred for work and moved her here with me and shes not used to the traffic). He was great. She told him how much she wanted to put down, how much she wanted to stay under for a lease payment, and he made it happen. I highly recommend them. Best dealership experience I have ever had.
Went into My Imports to try 3 vehicles out. A Subaru, a Toyota and a Nissan. Tried all three. This dealership is set up a little different. Even though they are under 1 dealership you had to see 3 different salesman. Well we only saw 2 because they were short staffed that day. We settled on a Subaru. The salesman Steve Devries was one of the best salesman we have encountered at a car dealership. He was easygoing. He had answers for any of our questions. We never felt pushed. Then we financed at Subaru and that went fast and efficiently. Very impressed with this dealership.
One in St. George, Utah has much friendlier staff and service. Service writers are getting better at This location. Young man who checked me out was the most outgoing and helpful individual Ive interacted with at this place.

I didn’t buy my Subaru from this dealership, but I do take my car here for service/maintenance. I used to take all of my cars to the Honda dealership in Grandville because it was cheap and close, but after several issues I chose to come here instead (even though it’s double the commute for me, but it’s worth it). I haven’t had any issues and everyone I’ve met in the service dept is super friendly & helpful. The waiting area is always clean with great amenities, they’re even pet friendly! I also think it’s awesome that they send you a video afterward going over your inspection and show you what your car looks like underneath. Thanks, Subaru of Muskegon!!

Im disappointed with my 2011 Subaru Outback 3.6 with all the issues that weve had with it since the beginning and throughout the extended warranty and beyond, including high consumption of oil. But we encountered friendly and polite staff at this service office at Subaru of Muskegon making our travels cross country a more pleasant and relaxed experience.
Subaru service at My Auto Import is excellent. They often get my car done sooner than expected, and Frank will check for coupons/discounts to help with the cost. Very nice waiting room, coffee and a tv, lots of comfy chairs. There are separate seating areas if you need to make a private phone call or get work done.
Friday the 13th, how many Subaru owners would show up for an oil change / tire rotation? Many, all morning and into the afternoon. I have never seen so many empty Subarus lined up in the oil change line. I was greeted promptly and courteously. The waiting area was clean and comfortable. Subaru of Muskegon treats their guests with all the comforts of home. One guest made use of the wheelchair. A guest had their dog with them. Pet snacks as well as people snacks were available. My car was ready as promised and I was on my journey home.
I purchased a 2019 Subaru Outback, but I test drove 3 different cars to be sure. Steve DeVries was very patient, very knowledgeable, answered every question (and there were a lot!) He spent a lot of time with me and never made me feel rushed or pressured. He made me feel very comfortable about making the switch to not only a car, but a Subaru after nearly 18 years of driving Honda Odysseys.

I bought my car from Andre Coffee. He is a long time friend of mine so it seemed right to get my car from him. That process was great and everything went smoothly. I am very pleased and satisfied with my car.At the beginning of spring I had to replace a headlight. I didnt take my car in because I figured it wasnt a big deal and my boyfriend was able to do it. A couple weeks ago I noticed the same headlight was out again. On top of that there were 3 lights that had appeared on my dashboard and my car would get stuck in park. This happened off and on for a few weeks.I took my car in expected that it would be covered under the warranty. Come to find out I had missed it by 8k miles. The damage was $200. I wasnt prepared to pay that so I told the desk that I wouldnt be needing the service today. She left and when she came back she told me that I only owed her for the headlight! I was so appreciative of that because she said that she didnt feel right sending back on the road like that. It wasnt just about the money. She cared about my safety. That made my whole day! Thank you so much Subaru for all you do!
I bought my new car over email, and couldnt get to Subaru of Muskegon to look at the vehicle until the day I came home with it, which made me pretty nervous. I worked with Andre throughout the process and he made everything really simple. He was kind and personable. The repairs shop is the main reason for when I am writing my poor review. It was very disheartening as I have had multiple family members buy multiple cars with them and have heard of the great service and repairs department. I bought my car in the spring of 2017. Everything was great and then the first winter happened 4+ months later and it felt like I was pulling and drifting way more than one would think the 4 wheel drive Subaru has a a reputation for. I then purchased new winter tires and the issue continued without improvement, but I just endured thinking that I was crazy. Late that summer we had a family member that has the same year Forester and said that they had the same issue and their Subaru dealership in GR said that it is usually a stock issues with a lot of Subaru vehicles and referred to this as ghost walking and fixed it for them with an alignment free of charge, as they usually do 40+ of those in the winter. We then brought it to our Subaru dealership and explained the issues and they had not only never heard of it, but made us believe that it was a tire issue because we did not buy from them and said that they could look at the alignment for the regular charge. We explained that this is our dealership and we expected that this is common knowledge in other West Michigan dealerships and has been treated as a courtesy fix due to the mass amounts of occurrences and they would not look into or fix the issue without payment because the car was not under warranty. They explained that this is only covered under a three month warranty. After this we just left as they were not going to listen to us and needed payment for the issue and we were just so disappointed at the difference of service from one Subaru dealership to ours. What I would have liked to explain to a manager about it that this warranty is only three months and I could not have known about this issue until the winter 4+ months later when the warranty was expired. When I learned what was the issue and explored further online it was not an uncommon issue and our dealership should have worked with us better. This is now an experience that all of my West Michigan Subaru driving family and friends have heard about. I am not sure if i would encourage others to buy a Subaru from them, but I would defiantly ask for the paperwork on the alignment done and then go to another place to get it checked again, just in case, because I cannot trust the quality of their repairs or inspections.

Love love love my Subaru.! I’m on my second Subaru Outback in two years. My first Subaru Outback saved my life when I was was rear ended by a drunk driver. My Outback flipped end over end and then rolled and I didn’t suffer any life threatening injuries. Once Subaru of Muskegon found out about my accident they had a new Subaru in my driveway within two days. I drove this vehicle until my insurance was settled and I could purchase my new car. They went above and beyond for me during this purchase.

I normally don’t like to complain but I had an oil change done on my forester yesterday. It cost over $70 and they wanted me to replace air filters (my vehicle isn’t even a year old yet). I have never paid that much for an oil change. I just wanted a simple oil change, nothing more. I feel like they assumed I wouldn’t know different and charged me for the expensive synthetic oil. Kind of disappointed.
