Make sure you have an employee walk over the vehicle/rental with you when you turn it in. Last week I turned in a truck I rented I asked the employee there to walk the vehicle with me to confirm everything and he just told me oh don’t worry about I’ll submit it later, come to find out now they’re saying I went over 100miles which is not true and they want to charge me $165.00 for this.Another thing I walked in and the manager there is yelling at the employees At the front desk talk about a bad work environment probably why everyone seems to hate working there.
A lady DANIELLE was trading the girl who answered my call. I was incredibly patient after waiting on hold 11 mins before trying to get the reservation together. I needed a truck and to tow a car and the new employee apparently had no training before answering so Danielle need to be there also. Which was fine. 14 minutes into the reservation and after a 3 employee, a manager said the cat need to be on a car lift not the toe dolly.. I agreed and requested to know if the truck was even available the day I needed it. The new girl transferred me and I agreed to insurance ON BOTH after danielle explained that both were the truck and the dolly I asked to get to point where I know if the truck is available before I have to go through all this with another location. She put me on a brief hold and a 4th employee got on the phone I asked to conclude my reservation and they hung up on me. Now I do have to wait on hold and go through this again. California to N.Y. with tow and insurance is about $6000 sale. This location needs training in every aspect of customer service

The rental process was smooth and the staff were very professional. However, I rented a pickup truck for less than 1 hour amd drove it only 6 miles. They charged me $11 for gas. That seems a little high.
I wish I could give zero stars. I have a move across country coming up in one week that I have had a trailer rented for more than a month. I made a reservation 3 weeks ago to have a trailer hitch put on my new car. They waited until 48 hours before my appointment to call me and say they cant do it. No alternative offers, no alternative locations, Im just out of luck. Sorry, were ruining your move and making things impossible for you, but, hey, we will refund the money we made you prepay. Awful. Be afraid.
They never pick up the phone the wait time says 20 mins but they sould say over 2hrs
All but one of the people that were helping me get my truck were rude, they were not ready for me to come get my truck and the truck was not ready either. The drivers cab was dirty, and smelled like cigarettes. We checked the ash tray and it was full of cigs which is why it smelled so bad. Last but nothing least. I was trying to return the truck and they kept calling me like crazy and then when I was able to get a hold of them again at about 6:45PM to return the truck, I told them I would be there in about 20 min and the lady hung up on me probably because she didn’t want to stay over 5 min (at least from what I thought) I ended up having to call back and not get anyone to pick up but finally getting ahold of someone in corporate who gave me the directions for the after hours drop off but at the end of the day, this Murrieta UHaul is full of rude people and it really didn’t seem like they cared about their services to their customers. I would take my money somewhere else there’s plenty of other truck companies around here.
5 stars for the actual sevice, 1 star for their communication system.After calling the number for this my local facility I spent 39 minutes on a recorded hold system. I was just trying to find out if I could fill my propane tanks at this facility. I had been there many times before since it is 2 minutes from my home. But, did not want to load 6 tanks onto my truck if their filling station was not working. Finally someone answered. A answering service. Darn! No direct line to the actual store!Fortunately the person on the phone was super nice and helpful. She even called the direct line to the store but also got NO RESPONSE! So I thanked her and went ahead and took a chance a loaded up my tanks.I arrived in 2 minutes and pulled up to the filling area. They have a button you push to get someone inside to come out.Someone came out within a minute.This employee was very nice. She immediately began taking pics of each tank which is required to document that they are not outdated.I unloaded and she filled each one and I reloaded back onto to the truck. Quick, fast and easy!You can pay right there with your credit or ATM card. You pay by the total gallons that were filled and they fill them full. 3.29 a gallon. Thats cheap!I previously took my not totally empty tanks to Lowes or AMPM and switched for a full tank to be sure I had full ones for a special occasion and didnt want to run out. Normally this cost is 20 dollars each.6 tanks switched would have been $120.This total cost was around $46. Great savings!Ive been to this place several times before.Each time their employees have been professional, knowledgeable and friendly.The communications need to improve.Most persons that didnt know what was available ( like filling of propane tanks) at their facility would not wait on the phone for 39 minutes to find out. They would search elsewhere for what they need. Im sure they have have lost business due to this fact.So a improvement in this area would be a asset.
I signed up my unit for Auto Pay and the GM took my account off autopay (he admitted this, I have it in call transcript) and didnt notify me. My account wasnt paid and I was charged late fees and sent a notice for late payment due. I enrolled in AutoPay again, and the GM took it off again without notification, and charged me late and lien fees again. I enrolled in AutoPay a 3rd time, and he did it AGAIN! When I call U-Haul customer service they say that they have no control over how he chooses to do business in his region, but admitted its an unusual ongoing problem. The GM also requested an itemized list of the items I had in storage before sending me a pre-auction notice. I had to contact U-Haul corporate to get my payment processed. This guy is scamming customers and having their belongings put in lien or auctioned despite repeated attempts to pay bills.
Climate controlled means in the summertime it will be 90 degrees on the upper level and a chilly 85 degrees downstairs, guaranteed.Also, their online payment system had failed to populate the automatic and manual payments I made for about 6 months. During this time, I was charged a late fee (for one month: this was before coronavirus circumstances. During coronavirus no late fees were collected) plus a $50 lien on my storage unit. That would have been fair if I simply wasnt paying my rent, but the fact that this was charged regardless of the fact that it was a technical error on their part was not acceptable. They only credited the amount to my account after I complained about it. I shouldnt have had to do that.Then there was this fun little set of facts:If you have a padlock other than their own: Theyll cut your lock and charge YOU $50 for a replacement.If you dont want to buy their lock because youre moving out at the end of the month, thats a problem. Youre not allowed to leave your unit unlocked or theyll put a lock on the door and charge you $50 for it.If your storage room is empty, you STILL have to lock it. With THEIR padlock. Otherwise theyll charge you $50.Finally, when its time to move out, you wont get a prorated refund if youre moving out any day other than the day your rent is due.So even though I want to keep ownership of the unit until the end of the month in case I need it for a day or two when my movers arrive (after all, Ive paid for it), I cant do that unless I lock it... With their lock.Update 7/15:I dont see what right they have to lock my belongings so I cant get them when Ive paid all my rent. But thats what theyve done.

Eva was very helpful, the place was very busy and Eva and her staff handle everything thrown their way. I had issues with past rentals that I wanted to speak to a live person about, and Eva fully explained what happen and reached out to corporate to help fix that matter. I highly recommend this location to anyone looking to rent trucks, trailers, uboxes or storage!
Incompetent, arrogant and expensive. Stay far away if you need trailer wiring, these guys are terrible.Trailer wiring and brake controller installation here was a disaster. After 3 tries they simply gave up and told us it wasn’t possible to tow with an Audi, a car that has a 5500 pound tow rating from the factory. The final attempt had us using the trailer brakes manually because they didn’t install or hook up a critical wire. The trailer lights were intermittent or didn’t work at all, except for when we shut the car off the trailer running lights stayed on and nearly killed the battery! So I brought the car home and was able to fix all the problems myself, using all the same parts, just by following the manufacturer directions. I found missing wiring, broken wiring, badly pinched wires, hot wires that were ran and abandoned with no cap off, missing fasteners, large sections of the cars wiring stripped bard and not taped up, basically terrible craftsmanship everywhere I looked. The worst thing is that if someone inexperienced had used the car they probably wouldn’t have known how bad it was and used the car/trailer the way UHaul provided it. We paid for trailer brake controller and wiring and all we got was a useless controller that had indicator lights that lit up but didn’t actually activate the trailer brakes!! The technician was a really nice guy, very friendly and likable, but his workmanship is simply dangerous. He needs a different job, plain and simple.In the end, the manager refused to refund all labor charged, treated us rudely and blamed the car instead of looking at the workmanship.Again, stay far away from these guys!
This building has the brightest lights that shine in my window every single night. We have to have black out curtains because of this building. Those lights are always on! Consider the neighbors around you please
I never leave reviews for anything especially a Uhaul location, but they surprised me with their EXCELLENT service so I felt it was needed!! Wanted them to install a hitch on my truck cause it comes with lifetime warranty, so I purchased the hitch itself and the wiring/labor needed. I didnt see that my truck had all the wiring necessary as it was hidden, and David let me know and refunded me! Super fast install, total honesty, what else do you need??

The WORST PLACE EVER!!! stood in line for 30min till I said forget it . While ONE person checked people out and then leave to move the truck around. Then help people who would just walk up to her. Like really??? Ive been to other U-Haul places and they have someone outside to check in trucks and a person who brings the trucks around and do the inspection with you. So had yo drive yo Moreno Valley to get a truck. Felt bad for one lady who stood in line for a truck that she was told was here that they didnt even have.

Over the years renting U-Haul truck has been mostly a negative experience. Most of the U-Haul franchises are sleazy places with sleazy people with lots of hidden charges. I always leave feeling like I had been ripped off.Finally a well-run U-Haul facility! This operation is a real gem. I was able to reserve the truck on line & enter all of the information. Upon arriving, the facility was clean & well organized. The employee was professional. (No missing teeth & cigarettes hanging out of their mouths! What a refreshing change from other U-Haul facilities!) I presented my credit card & drivers license. I was given an estimate of all of the charges. (No hidden fees.) We inspected the truck and I was on my way in a few minutes. Great experience! Just like renting a car from Hertz or Avis. I highly recommend this facility. Be sure to reserve on line ahead of time.

Horrible experience uhual over drafted my by charging my card 4 time for 1 rental. they were purposfully misleading about purchase information and used loop holes in banking methods to take a $80 rental and turn it into almost $200 and when i called the sale clerck was quick to point me to there GM Alex who hung up on me when askes about there shady buiness practices. i will never rent from Uhaul again. yoy shouldnt either.
Anyone who ever said they LOVED UHAUL, OBVIOUSLY was serviced by Alexander Moore at the Uhaul off Jefferson Avenue!I say this because, until I had the honor of being assisted by General Manager Moore, I had decided I HATE UHAUL!I was planning a move 90 miles long distance move (Downtown Los Angeles to Murrieta) and EVERY Uhaul representatives up until the moment I met Mr. Moore were EXTREMELY lackluster and devoid of human interaction skills. Moving is ALREADY STRESSFUL WITHOUT assistance! They messed up my pickup location (sent me 30 mins away), they gave me the WRONG size truck, didnt inspect the vehicle, ETC... all in all NO BUENOOOO!I was livid that I had to return the ONE WAY rental the next day after traveling 90 miles with a FULL load and STILL had to head back to DTLA to COLLECT what couldnt fit. 3 feet worth of space MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE!It was Halloween day and I previously promised my girlfriend we would celebrate our victorious move with nostalgia by tick or treating. We were supposed to be done the night before, October 30th. Little did I know what Uhaul had in store for me when I made that promise to her.While standing in line at Uhaul to return the vehicle, I began to pray. I was SO FRUSTRATED and UPSET it was ALL I could do.My prayers were answered when out of nowhere Mr. Moore appeared and took over the register and called me over. As soon as I explained my dilemma, he said I am SO SORRY for they way this was handled, I am 10 steps ahead and I WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU!His empathy and TAKE CHARGE initiative were EXACTLY what I needed.TAKE care of me HE DID! I was able to complete my LONG DISTANCE move with more peace afterwards. Before being assisted by Mr. Moore I wondered if Uhauls lack of customer service had to do with it not having any real competition? No need to rise above if youre ALREADY on top!That notion has since been replaced with Uhaul needs to TRAIN better and be more selective in their hiring process. Calls to reschedule my trailer pick up 3 minutes before my reservation time, then proceeds to reschedule my trailer pick-up for a location 45 minutes away. On top of that I’m only given a partial refund.
I rented a trailer with this facility in Murrieta, but the trailer I supposed to get was not there. I rented an inclosed trailer and they gave me an open trailer. I talk to manager in charge of this area and she confirmed with me that I was supposed to get an in close trailer. Do to this it rain and all my things got wet. Not good customer service..
Rented a bike trailer. The pick up was no problem but the drop off kind sucked. We had to drop the trailer ourselves while the guy day there on his phone. I get he might of been on break but take care of the customer then extend your break. Its all about customer service!!!!
Worst customer service. We made an EXPRESS pick up at this location and they still had us wait 45 mins to even talk to someone. Then we were told its at a different location then the one we reserved it at. Uhaul is the worst and I will never use them for anything I need. We even called to complain and they hung up on us. Moving made ez with uhaul... rented a 17 footer and my total was less than 100$. Truck fit basically everything i needed. Drop off after hours is an awesome feature too. Drop off lane, drop keys in drop box near the door, and follow simple instructions on the paper they give you. Last thing, free boxes in the front. So if you have extra, please recycle your boxes so others could use.
Staffers always very competent and accommodating, anticipate your needs and have your order and equipment at hand when you book online. Warm and friendly and better than many other U-Haul stores.
Reserved a trailer two weeks in advance. 18 hours before I’m supposed to pick up the trailer, they tell me they don’t have it and that the closest trailer is over an hour from where I’m at. I told the guy I spoke with I didn’t think I’d have time to drive to that location, so he offered me a truck at the same price. I called him back to say that would work, and spoke with the manager who told me the guy wasn’t authorized to offer me that and that I can drive to the location an hour away or they could cancel my order. Absolutely HORRIBE attitude and horrible customer service. Making a reservation with them is useless and means nothing.

The trailer had grease on floor from the front to the back when I picked it up, after uhaul tells me trailer is ready this location tells me it wont be for 4 more hours. Never had a bad experience with uhaul until this rental.Follow upI did end up speaking to the manager and we worked out a resolution that I Im happy with. He stood behind his product and provided a better customer experience. I do recommend this place
BEWARE! Double check your charges because the associates here will not clearly state what they are. No one explained I was being charged extra but I️ was told the $80 fee was my final charges.It’s my fault for not paying attention and trusting the associate.I didn’t pick up the truck at the time noted because I had to call customer service due to an error associated with my drivers license that would let me rent at first.So I️ dropped it off with a full tank and maybe 25 minutes late. Come to find out later via the email receipt that I️ was charge for apparently bringing it back without a full tank and an extra day’s charge.Very poor service and crazy charges. BEWARE!

I rented a van with gas between half and 3/4 in it. Didnt want to return the van with less of what I started with so I mistakenly went over of what I started with, way over. I ask Mel or Mels if I can can a credit of left over amount of gas towards the mileage used, I was told they wont be able to do anything. If they started each rentals with a full tank, this situation will not occur. They rip off people and Im very upet with this, this should be against the law. Will never ever rent from this company ever again and will tell anyone who ask me that they are con artists. Very disappointed!!!!!

Let me start by saying I rent consistently from uhaul almost everyday for the last few years. And this location uhaul of murrieta is one of the worst locations I have to deal with. Bad customer service, specially when you try to call the location they never answer. They try to steal from you and charge you extra for mileage and gas. Or they simply just don’t have your equipment ready even though you have reserved it weeks ahead of time. The staff is always slow, under staffed, unorganized and the customers are the ones who pay the price every time. Go to uhaul if Temecula the general manager karen runs a tight ship and makes sure everyone is happy also great customer service. Also the Same with quik rentals in Temecula. If your just sick of uhaul which I would understand sometimes uhaul is very ridiculous and almost like a circus. Go to penske.
Called to ask the price of propane, wouldnt give price over the phone. Drove to business asked one salesman he didnt know he looked at the other sales person she says $3.89. Thats high. Thinking she just said any price that came to mind. Poor costumer service.
I ordered a hitch and bike rack, was given an appointment, when I arrived they had no records of my appointment. Since I needed the bike rack for a trip there was nothing U-Haul could do. Thanks for nothing!

You looked at my family and said were ready to go)Got stuck in a BFE town for hours while truck was being repaired. In 120° weather.Couple calls to UHUAL later, Eric calls me back. Is apologetic. Offers me a check as reimbursement. Says itll take 2 weeks. 2 weeks later, he says, itll be another 2-3 weeks. UM..WHAT?!This guy needs to care about people hes putting in these trucks. Dont tell me one story and do another. Will someone from UHUAL CORPORATE teach this guy something please?? Like STOP BEING A LIAR!
