Finding a trustworthy mechanic is often a common worry, and rightfully so. After reading all the previous positive reviews I decided to give First Choice Autoworks a try. They did an 80,000 mile service on my 08 GMC Sierra. Not only did they do exceptional work, they actually called me after their multi-point inspection and let me know there were a few items on the manufacturers recommendations that did not need to be performed. They are honest and compotent, and I now service both of my vehicles here and Ive never looked back.

The guys are amazing. I was buying a beautiful used car and they were already closing. They waited for us and made a super thorough inspection in an hour or so. The report was very solid, focused, with pics and recommendations. They commented on every point and gave me enough assurance and clarity to buy the car.

Good, the Bad, the Ugly.I will be fully transparent with my review of 1st Choice Autoworks.The good. John and his team did a great job on my oil leak with my 2016 Kia sedona. They went beyond expectations and offered a VERY cost effective solution to replace parts while having to lift out the engine and transmission to get to the real seal leak. The job should of been more expensive from the initial quote but John wanted to fix other problems that were going to cause issues down the road for the Mini-van. I can appreciate it that and offer a 5 star for his work on my familys mini-van.Off that Kia job, I brought in my 2016 Chevy Cruze. Very high mileage and knew we had issues coming up with the Cruze engine and oil. The car was running fine when I gave it to John and 1st Choice. I was having to put in a quart of oil every 2 to 3K miles, but overall it was running fine. So knew I had to get it fixed as it was a primary commuter to work vehicle. Johns team took a look and ran a diagnostics test on the pressure of the engine oil and the diagnostic result confirmed the worst case scenario. Complete engine replacement. John provide an honest assessment, if the mileage was 100K, it would be beneficial to do the engine replacement job. Since we were around 175K, time to replace the vehicle.I informed John, that I will just pick the vehicle up pay for the labor and diagnostics work and start to look for a car to replace the cruze. I expected to drive the cruze for another month while I shopped around.The Bad. Realizing John was out sick the whole week, hope he feels better, john was arm chair quarterbacking the daily operations of the shop from home. Totally understand, but when I went to pick up the car it was not ready. I was given the keys and glove box was still out and on the floorboard, also the floor mat cover still in there along with the steering wheel cover. Honestly no big deal. The trend of quality goes down at this point.The Ugly. Running a diagnostic check should not affect the cars performance. I was told the team just took out the spark plugs and ran a pressure test on the oil with the engine. My car was running fine before giving it to 1st choice. When I drove it off the lot, check engine notifications came on. Never seen them before. I called John and his response was, hey your cars broke, man what can I tell you. So I turned off the car to see if the notifications would go away and they did, but I still had a timing issue at the stop lights when the engine was about to die just idling waiting for the light. I drove home and 3 miles from home smoke started to come out of the engine. THAT NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE!!! I called John, and remember he is sick so he cant do anything until he gets back to the shop. He said bring it in on Monday. I checked under the hood and smoke was coming from the right side of the engine block. So decided to just leave in the parking spot and take it to 1st choice on Monday. I came home after going to the grocery store and noticed and massive leak under the cruze. I checked under the hood and the coolant was completely empty. Nothing was in the coolant. Really shocked at this point at the job 1st choice did to my car.So in summary, my car was given back to me in a much worse condition than I gave it to 1st choice. I basically paid 1st choice 241 dollars to break my car. With the Kia the technicians did drive it around to test the Van, with my cruze, obviously they did not drive it around to make sure it was running fine before giving it back to me, see my note above at the glove box being on the floor board.I cant explain what happened from the quality and customer service of the Kia to the Cruze. I will say, John not being in the office this past week was probably part of the root cause of poor quality and work.I will not recommend anyone going to 1st choice unless they have a KIA. Make sure John is working in the shop when your car is being serviced. Also make sure they test drive your vehicle too.

John is the best, he has a great team under him, great deals for loyal customers cant ask for much more. They are always getting new equipment that allows them to be the competitor! I wouldnt be surprised if he has a bigger shop soon and a larger staff. Best mechanics and team a boss can have!

Recently went in here to get my car looked at. I couldnt figure out why my check engine light was on, and on a recommendation from a friend, decided to try this place. I am so glad I did. They were fast, honest, and not expensive! The check engine light was fixed, and I got the oil changed as well. The whole process was completely painless.I highly recommend this place to everyone who needs work on their car. You will not be disappointed, I promise!

I came in to replace headlight, they found out that I need to relay. John replaced in timely manner. Did not have to wait long. And a week later I came back to replace my left door check. Absolutely the best and most honest mechanic you will find. We needed a new engine for our Mini Cooper and he delivered. Our Mini now runs flawlessly and my wife is now happy. We had a horrible experience with our last mechanic and John has restored my faith in the industry. From start to finish he made good recommendations and found us a new engine at a good price. The dealership qouted us 10k and John did for a fraction of that and did it right. I cant recommend him enough.

Love this place! John is such a sweet, kind, courteous, and professional guy. Brought my 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan to have a clicking noise inspected. He identified the issue, inquired as to whether or not the car was purchased new or used. I wasnt sure of warranty info, he then called DCH and its covered! Im all about supporting our local shops. Auto shops can be tricky and worrisome as you dont know what to expect until youre already in it to the end. The crew here at shop are great and communicate with you at all times. Raised by a father veteran of 34yrs in auto mechanic we are happy to continue to see there are still honest and reliable auto mechanic shops. The one shop Ive not had to put my guard up or negotiation skills to work because the quotes suggested are remarkably on point if not better then your dealerships. My wife Anna and I are happy and over satisfied repeated customers with our Honda Odyssey care n maintenance and Im not concerned whether its my wife taking it in or I. Honest and trustworthy. They gave me a ride home while they did the work and picked me up when it was done. John called me with thier diagnoses, options and prices for each option. Talk to John once and you know you can trust this guy!I was referred to him by friends at calvary chapel conference center in murrieta and went and had all my brakes repaired and adjusted and replaced the struts and did an oil change. My friend thats a mechanic told me I got all that work done for a lot less than normal. They took me to work and picked me up after. Great place, highly recommended! Been referring all my friends there since I went because Ive always been afraid to trust car mechanics and I could tell this guy John was a straightforward and honest guy.

AC of my wifes 2008 Saturn Aura suddenly wasnt working, there was no wind blowing out of the vents. I searched on yelp in the evening and got prompt response from 1st choice autoworks who were able to schedule me for an inspection next day morning as I had to go out pf town.I took the car and was welcomed by John. He is a really friendly guy. After initial inspection, John told me one other issue of the water pump which was more alarming (the AC problem was just the fan not working due to a broken resister). He took me to the car inspection area and showed me where are all the issues. Clearly explained all the pros and cons. I never saw my car like that from the bottom. Then, John and Poon tried their best to find me a great deal.I scheduled my appointment the very next day and they fixed all the problems and the car is running smooth now. Poon even dropped me off and picked me up after the fix were done. So thankful for that.I really appreciate how John knows all the details of the business, how he goes beyond to help us get the best deal on parts and explains all the problems with great patience.This is my one stop shop for all my businesses with my saturn and the other car. Being a car guy, this is the only independent car shop I take my cars to get checked out whenever I need help. Theres only so much I can do to my car until I get hit with a big replacement/service, thats when I bring it in and have yet to be disappointed.
