Went for a takeaway lunch... Order grilled items in store and pick up outside at the pickup window. Deli items can also be ordered in store. Recommend the chicken with walnuts and pomegranate (it doesnt look appetizing, but is really good!). Chicken kebobs and flat bread were delicious too. Many other items offered, but thats what we had that day. Grilled vegetables were a bit raw for my taste. The new location is very clean, light, and bright. Very limited seating outside but in a nice location away from traffic.
Seasonal fruits (such as green plums) are great. We also love their grills especially the long meatball (koubideh), which is very delicious. The only negative thing is the chicken meat they have. We bought it two times, and both of them were far from fresh. But everything else is pretty good.
In A Nutshell:-The Rose International Market is a clean, modern market selling Middle Eastern foods & ingredients.-I come here for their amazing kabobs!-Their koubideh, chicken thigh, chicken breast & barg (top sirloin) are safe bets that will make you happy.-If you call & place an order they will give you a claim number.-When you arrive, park, go inside straight to the cashier tell them the claim number, pay, then go back outside to the order pick up window & tell them your claim number.Overall, this place a fantastic kabobs!!!
It is convenient to have a store walking distance. But what I will say is that the owners of the store do not do a good job in maintaining the outdoor area clean. The customers that go and eat there are really messy and leave their garbage on the tables and on the ground. The garbage bins are always full and overflowing on the weekends only. Owners of the store should really maintain the outdoor as well.
If you’re looking for a grocery with Iranian food items, then look no further. They have great stews in the deli and kebab on the grill. Plus, it’s a good place to grab grocery items too (Iranian). I’m a regular—see you there!
Very poor foods quality and very expensive! Every body can pay but not for junks(stale breads and foods ) recently I stopped by two times to see i could find something to buy but I couldn’t really find some good foods ! I would usually go to Flippe market near by and 99 ranch market and real produce which have Fresh vegetables and fruits and foods and much cheaper than the greedy guys ! Don’t waste your money over there as long as they’d want to rip you off !
Price wise a good market to shop but i love their kitchen, never regret it. Try it when possible youll se it your self
We ordered some raw kubeideh kebab uncooked skewers to grill at home! They mount the meat on the skewers for you and you can pay a $3/skewer deposit and have the money returned to you when you return the skewers, nice little idea for sure! It’s also a nice grocery store full of all types of Iranian and Arab eats and can find most of what you need!
For a spanking new market this is the as best as it can get. Food is specifically to-go, but theres seating outside. Notice the bricks on the sidewalk make clinking sounds. Order inside, pick up outside. Well portioned grilled meats are incredibly tender and savory; lamb chops, chicken tandoori, New York beef are juicy, flavorful, tender; this will involve napkins. Ask for side of sumac. Vegetable assortment to-go basically serves one person, so order extra. Flavored rice is more tasty than plain basmati. Produce seem to be reasonably priced and fresh. Parking lot has very narrow entry and exit, be careful.
Consistently great food. The chicken is always juicy, the koubideh is one of the best in the bay area and even the plain white rice is really good. there is limited seating outside and the food is always best fresh. Dont forget to order a roasted tomato and some roasted peppers with your food
Good store with nice products from a variety of places. Good takeout food and deli counter as well.
Primarily an Iranian focused grocery (with excellent prepared food and kebabs) also a great source of hard to find Turkish pantry items & Arab dairy products. Lots of fresh bread and some great pre-marinated meat.
Just depressed and sad people..Parking is difficult very limitedStore..clean and organizedService..just typical sad unhappy uncooperative people..makes shopping there a dont want to be hereThe old Store wasnt friendly..the new one upgraded to more unfriendly..Too bad.
A super clean, high quality store. Theres a meat counter where everything looks fresh and extremely clean. A good place to find ingredients to prep Mediterranean and Italian food.
We love this market! Its a great place to get delicious prepared foods on the nights you dont feel like cooking. The kebabs are amazing!
Love many of their produce - veggies and fruits; olives, Labne, variety of Persian breads - delivered on Thu, etc.Definitely love their kebabs!
Friendly atmosphere and kindly service. Pricy for groceries but very high quality
Meat section staff is little rude and they dont give you your choice of meat(Goat n Lamb specifically). They try to sell more! Had this kind of experience couple of times already, will find a new better store! Only good thing is they have good persian groceries. Big no for meat!
They serve amazing items from the grill. So the best place to shop and pickup medi food
Great store and take out food. the kitchen is very very slow tho
The best persian grocery store in Bay Area by far. The location is ideal, parking spots plenty, and the store is clean. They have a cafe where you can order your food as you are shopping. Highly recommend this store to all Mediterranean fellows as well as other food enthusiasts.
Delicious grilled chicken, but missing was the grilled veggies I ordered and the lavash. I noticed the lavash was missing because they gave me rice (also tasty), I was given a bag of lavash, no problem, but it wasnt until I got home did I notice that the grilled veggies were missing. Will still go back because its always yummy.
The new market is beautiful. I havent been back here since they upgraded from the smaller store down the street. Great selection of meats, snacks and ethnic foods. Staff is friendly and hardworking.
Great Mediterranean store and really good prepared foods deli!
Great place. You will find every thing frash
Good place to find Iranian herbs, sweets and delis.
Excellent spot to get kabobs at a decent price. Good selection of Persian groceries also. The butcher counter is outstanding. Quality halal meats at a good price. Love this store!
The new Rose Market doesnt have the old world warmth and charm as the old Rose Market. But its a great place to find hard to find ingredients and really delicious deli and grill items.
Just called in to make an order for pickup. The guy asked what I want and once I told him the food I want he yelled number 10 and hung up without even listening to the rest of the order.
Great food at the hot bar. Be prepared to wait even after making a phone order. Very, very slow service.
Our local gem that never disappoints! Love everything I get here from grilled items to fresh meat. So glad to live just minutes away.
The reason for the one star is customer service, specially the woman behind the food counter, middle aged and hair dyed blond, she was so rude as if people owe her. This might come to you as a surprise, but cutomers dont owe you, we have other options! Maybe the owners can consider asking the ladies at the cashier to teach her customer service.I drove from SF to see my family in San Jose and dropped by to get food and some groceries, the food was just average- watery Ash and Eggplant stew, the celery strew was good, but altogether nothing I cant get anywhere else and be respected as well.Having that said, I like their groceries and it was one of my go-to place for Persian bread etc which Im choosing to not visit any time soon because of the way I was spoken with. I Hope you change and improve your customer service.
Good place to get Kubide, and Persian food. It used to be a small place, but theyve transformed well into modern market. Convenient parking, clean and delicious.
Love their deli...lots of interesting middle eastern and eastern European foods to try. Their fresh baklava selection is delicious. Prices for their grilled foods are reasonable and good. You get a number for the order and then wait outside at the side window for pick up. The cooks seem a little stressed but seems overall a nice local flavor of Mountain View for authentic Persian food.
I frequent this place often and often take something new to try back home for my wife and son. Often times finding a hit and rarely a miss. I would recommend their Koubideh, which you order at their counter. Either with roast tomatoes over saffron rice; or their super sandwich stuffed in lavash with fresh herbs, lettuce, and tomato. For sides to take home their french feta and Shirazi salad are an ideal fresh fish to take home
Extremely slow grilled order. 30min wait.
Specialized in middle eastern specialty groceries. I love their marinated kobideh kebab and chicken. You can grill them at home. They also have the meat and other food cooked that you can purchase in the deli.
One of our favorite take-out places. Love the kubbideh and Chicken skewers. If you order online theyll even bring it out to your car once you get there. Parking around the front on el camino can get tight but they have parking spots around the back too
The meat is fresh. The place is clean and neat.
Really clean and high quality meat section which is as clean as it can get. Nice customer service and small shop with a lot of middle eastern groceries . You can get in a get out pretty fast. Parking is also available in the building across for all retail shops. Nice neighbourhood.
Quality food in an extremely clean and pleasant setting. Vegetables and fruits look so fresh.
Great Kabobs. Soo fresh. Soo yummy. Love this spot.
Amazing food . Amazing taste. Amazing value. We drove 20+ miles out of the way just to get some!
A small grocery store in the community. Very good selections of Mediterranean products! Have plenty of vegetables and fruits with decent price. Also have some really good quality and authentic Mediterranean snacks! Staff are also friendly. Only down side is no fresh seafood( maybe I missed it).
Love this grocery store where you can get fresh bread (lavash), spices, falafel and many others fresh-prepared dishes (like a Mediterranean deli statinion), in-house made fresh yogurt mint drink, red caviar, fresh produce - unfortunately, almost no organic produce.
Atop of the pricey products, lousy customer service and stale food that the owners keep mixing with the fresh ones to hide their ill-fated intentions brought me a solid conclusion not EVER walk into this place. Not to mention that a couple of times I truly became food poisoned just because of the aforementioned!
My favorite Saturday noon place 💖
Good place to buy food to go! Also, good groceries!
Great Kabobs, and a cute little grocery store with lots of imported specialty items
Their prices are highly elevated, too expensive.
Great small store. Very fresh produce. Prepared food to go.
Its one of the best persian market. Good quality. 5 star.
Best place for lamb in the area.
I really like this place, the food is really good, and their halal meat is hormones free. I would give 5 stars if only they didnt have this one pork item in their deli station (hte mortadella), which expose their whole halal-themed deli to non-halal contamination.
The food they make is really good, its the best bang for the buck for persian barbecue and hummus. They have a great variety of persian groceries and some interesting international stuff. My favorite store.
A Mountain View institution. A good place for middle eastern groceries like Tahini, Sumac, etc.
Problem free online ordering of groceries and take-out for curbside pickup. Wonderful to have Persian supplies again.
Got kabab, gourmet Sabzi.Favorite dish for weekend
Family business with some unique products. Its mediterranean food is quite good, too
Busy, good mix of stuff and good prices. Always chaotic though.Very busy lunch counter but havent tried it yet.
Many exotic food. Friendly staff. They have a restaurant incide too. Kebabs lovely.
Food used to be good here.groceries are overpriced too.
Nice place to get halal food.
Great selection of Persian ingredients and the staff is very friendly. The store is very clean and after the remodel, very easy to find what you need.
We have been ordering grilled meat/kabobs from here since we moved. We love their tandoori, jujeh, koubideh, okra, eggplant and lentils with beef. Usual and almost always busy. I always order on the phone ahead of time if I dont want to wait.
Great grocery store with a good selection of fresh produce and other products. Great quality meat for reasonable prices.Best kept secret is the onsite grill serving delicious kebabs.
Great place for a takeout. Their grill menu is exceptional and you cant go wrong with any choice. The hot deli food is also great. Try their pomegranate walnut chicken stew (cant remember how they call it) and their olive. The selection of Mediterranean desert is always a bonus. Glad to have them back on the corner of Castro and El Camino.
The goto Persian grocery store but a bit expensive
Great selection. Staff is very kind and helpful.
Good business 🤠😃🤓🌟
Awesome grocery shop, great food (including the perfect lamb shank)
Everything about it is perfect. Only issue is that food can take a very long time. Other than that I love it. Also great for takeout
Great selection of international mid-eastern groceries.
Generally been good. Today I bought some fresh chicken drumsticks. Brought them home in < 30 minutes and wanted to prepare them. When I opened the sealed bag they smelled so rotten that I nearly gagged and threw the whole thing out.
A place where we usually buy Halal meat and chicken and so many delicious pastries and fabulous bread. Also Im in love with its catering. You should try the Kabob wrap and also the Kotlete sandwich and Olivie sandwich as well. The Karafs stew and Fesenjan stew is great too.And ofcourse if you are in love with sweet stuff just try their Tahini halva. You can try it with butter and warm bread. It’s unbelievable
I love that Middle Eastern store. The grilled kabab and chicken are AMAZING AND SOOOOOO DELICIOUS
Has everything you would need! Great food also! Highly recommended
Kobedeh is good.
The cashier made 3 mistakes in my bill. Put quince instead of pear, 4 sangak instead of 3 sangak and put the most expensive type of tomato instead of Roma tomato. I never checked my receipt before. One mistake in a bill, I would call it accidental but 3 mistakes couldnt be accidental. I recommend check your receipt carefully.
Good choices, considering the location.
One of the great international stores in the area. They have a wide variety of Middle Eastern items besides a deli serving delicious food at reasonable prices. The loose leaf tea selection is especially remarkable. The store is very clean and spacious and people running it are very courteous and nice. They also have a seating area outside.
Good quality food and polite staff. Lots of Mediterranean grocery options, such as baklava and so on, with reasonable price.
My favorite market close to San Jose
So, we gave it another try and were really hoping they improved. Once again, you go there and they tell you to come back in the afternoon for meat, no delivery yet at around 11. I noticed this time that the meat they were putting in the display was frozen, which they don’t tell you is the case.Very disappointing place.
Great Persian/Middle Eastern grocery store. Prices, staff, quality, everything is good. They have a small kitchen and serve variety of Persian food as well.
Glad to have Rose market back! Its now my go to place to get some goat meat. They have a great selection of fresh vegetables and meats, especially some hard to find stuff. For example, fresh turmeric! Whole foods would charge you an arm and a leg for it, but Roses prices are a fraction of it.
Great little store with a good selection.
The kabobs were not good tasting at all and the prices for everything is way too high. We were informed that ownership has changed recently.
Good selection of food. Incide restaurant good
Many options for mostly Mediterranian food
Great place to buy and eat middle eastern food and groceries.
A fantastic local Persian market with variety of delicious home style fresh cook food and fresh grocery
