I’ve had James work on every vehicle I’ve owned, he came out to my job site and and put a cv axel on my Honda, worked on my Ford and Chevy truck. Awesome mechanic
After doing our due diligence of researching a trustworthy mechanic, my wife and I decided to contact Auto Guru because of all the laudatory five star reviews. In addition, we thought that contacting a mobile mechanic would educe a level of convenience. However, our experience wouldnt even warrant one star. When we scheduled our initial appointment for a diagnosis, we never received a confirmation of any kind. When we realized he didnt show-up after his supposed appointment window, we checked-in with him to see when he might be able to arrive. Suffice it to say, we were told that he was running more than 30 minutes late due to another job that he was trying to finish. By the time he had finished his other job, it would have taken him another hour just to arrive at our address. Unfortunately, we had to take the initiative to follow-through with his failure to communicate.Despite his failed first attempt, we decided to give James another shot by scheduling another appointment. No more than an hour before our second scheduled appointment, we received a text message from James indicating that he would have to cancel our appointment due to the weather conditions. Mind you, the weather conditions were dry and favorable. He has a Facebook page which lists nothing but five star reviews, but thats only an artificial guise for the real nature of his business. This guy is a complete joke and certainly doesnt showcase any level of professionalism.
James a awesome person and does not do extra work and say it needed it but just trying to make money he does the work it if needs and he gets the job done I trust him and him only
Id taken my 2004 Chevy Suburban to several different mechanics; all of them said something different. James changed out the BCM, and found the wires causing the actually problem and kept the price super low. Very kind, hardworking guy, does honest work. Thank you so much James! Ill be coming to you for my future repairs!
James has now worked on my 2014 Cadillac ATS and as of this week he completed a job on my 2015 Chrysler 200. Quick, reliable service. This is a one man operation so I anticipated on being patient but my car was ready the next day. Thanks James.
I had a great experience with James/autoguru when i bought a used car and wanted a transmission drain and fill. Other shops wanted $200+ and would not guarantee Honda OEM fluid. I stopped by James place on a whim and he let me bring my own fluid for the job! No doubts about what went in my car! The drain and fill was done on the spot and I was out the door in 30 minutes for only $75. Ill be bringing my car back to him for another drain and fill shortly, because the price is right and he did exactly what I asked. Thanks, James!
Having owned diesel trucks since 1990 I have seen my fair share of diesel mechanics that being said James is far and away the most knowledgeable diesel mechanic I have ever met. His knowledge, his fair pricing, the speed with which he completes the repairs as well as his willingness to listen to the customer and understanding of their plight makes him hands down the best mechanic in the city !!!! Thank you James for a job well done !!!
I love this place! They are always reliable and they give and honour to their work with an awesome warranty. They typically get me in and out in a decent time too!!
James does good honest work for well below dealer prices. Ive been soliciting various services for years. He just fixed up our ES 330 lickety-split. Hes also worked on several of my rotaries over the years.Rumor has it, hell even come to you if you require! ;)
Honest, fair and hardworking vetran! This will be my guy from here on out!
BEWARE -The owner LLyod James quoted me $150 for an oil change and to replace two air filter. When I picked the car up he charged me $340, an over charge of $190 for no reason other than pure greed.
Ive dealt with this business on a few different occasions. The first time, my car sat for over a week for lower control arm issues. He priced me to do lower control arms come to find out, it was a misdiagnosis. So he found it necessary to go in again and charge double charge for the labor to go back into the same area and replace the right part. The second time was on another vehicle that I am personally attempting to rebuilding myself. I thought it was hydrolocked (Full of water from a bad storm), He charged me $75 dollars to come over and remove spark plugs and made a determination that it was indeed hyrdolocked without thoroughly observing the issue and didnt bring the right equipment so i provided the tools and he managed to take them with him. I texted a few hours later in regards to returning my tools to be informed that i wouldnt get them back for days. In Addition, he misdiagnosed the issue with my vehicled AGAIN! Come to find out the starter was bound to flywheel. Thats the difference between a 100 fix and new motor! After he left, I had to reach out to friends that arent even mechanics by trade and with a little google research i was able to determine myself. If he would have thoroughly diagnosed the issue like i paid him to do then there wouldnt be issues. Now i am out $75 dollars, some tools and I found out the problem for myself? Im kicking myself in the shins! There will absolutely not be a third time! ZERO EFFING STARS!
James is a good honest man
