I brought them a 6 volt generator covered in grease and rust, and they had it for about three weeks, and it was like brand new again when I got it back. It was clear where all that time had gone and cost a lot less than I expected for a rebuild and a new Voltage regulator. I’d bring it back to them next time it breaks. My whole electrical system is stronger than ever.

Excellent alternator repair

I stopped through here on a cross country road trip from Idaho to Kentucky in a newly-purchased 40-year old F-250...my starter died in Grand Junction and my battery cables needed replacing. Pat at Western Alternator worked with me to get my starter rebuilt and he also built me a custom set of high-strength battery cables for my dual batteries. Overall the quality of craftsmanship and knowledge here is the highest Ive encountered in any automotive shop anywhere in the country, and the owner is a friendly guy who puts out the highest quality products. My battery light came on pulling into Montrose from Grand Junction and since I had just replaced the battery a few months ago, it had to be the alternator. I dropped off my car that morning and Pat was able to turn it back over to me before the end of my work day. I dropped off a starter to get a price quote he rebuilt it without calling me tried charging me 120.00 more than a new one costs,now is holding my starter hostage.i realize times are hard but its a small town to be ripping people off
