Delicious find with authentic & homemade tasting chaat, paratha and dosa items. The chai was yum too!

I was there just now, got the samosas. Food is SO GOOOOOD!! The man who helped me (wish I had asked him name,seems to be the owner) is so kind and helpful. It was my first time there and I probably looked lost so showed me around and answered my questions. Will definitely be back!

Such a hidden gem! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was DELICIOUS and the sweets were divine! The spices are such a great buy with so many options.

I used to go here often but will not be returning. During my recent visit, I bought a frozen item from here, which ended up having MOLD in it. When I brought it back to show them, they blamed me for it, told me they wouldnt do anything about it, and basically called me a liar. I found it ridiculous that they caused a scene for a few dollars vs. returning or exchanging the item. They clearly lack basic customer service etiquette. Id recommend giving your money to other Indian stores in Modesto over this one.

The young man was very friendly and helpful. I kind of found this place on accident. I was waiting for rodgers to open.. The food smells fabulous. I didnt order but will next time as I already had bought my lunch elsewhere. They have a great selection of spices.

Discovered this place today and it is an absolute gem! Id already had lunch but could not resist the smells of chaat luring me to the back of the store. Enjoyed some veggie samosas with chutney--yum! They also have a lunch buffet and great selection of vegetarian food. The owner chatted with us and you can tell shes very passionate about what she does. Will definitely be back!

I just came by this store a couple days ago and wow was i surprised. it should mention that they have a restaurant on the back because boy was the food delicious. Me and my wife just moved from LA 2 months ago and one of her co workers highly recommended this place. Amazing service by the gentlemen and ladies in the back. Everyone was so friendly it seemed like a movie scene with how busy and smoothly everything ran. Definitely recommend this place and will be coming back.

The person that was very polite. He told about some off their little treats and gave a sample off something that tasted like a almond joy without the chocolate.

Its a very nice store, staff nice and friendly. Food is very good.

Very clean, appealing store with a lot of items that are hard to find. Check out their spice selection, some of which is imported by a member of their family so they can maintain low prices. The manager told me that many of their menu items can be prepared vegan style if you call ahead or are willing to wait a bit longer for them to make it special for you.

Stopped in to check out the place as we were passing through town on our way to our hotel room. After the very helpful son, who is helping his parents run the store, had us taste several of their daily specials we decided to buy 3 of their meal of the day specials. We took them to our hotel room and had a wonderful dinner. The food is fresh and tasty. The grocery store side made me drool. So jealous that people in Modesto have this great resource. Wish they were closer to our home. We don’t have a place like this in Palm Springs. We will definitely stop here every time we are driving up the 99.

Best Motichoor laddus in the area!Excellent choices and best prices. I was traveling from out of state and it was worth the effort to stop by and get some Indian “Kent” mangoes, fresh Indian sweets, even had chaat (to-go), and bought a whole bunch of Indian grocery items. The people are friendly, helpful, and very personable.The shop is COVID-19 aware and had sanitizing spray right upfront.The selection included both fresh fruits and vegetables that are sometimes hard to find - such as fresh Lichis and Mangoes.Highly recommended!

Wow! What a delicious place for some home made Indian food. Either because of the quaint place, the excellent customer service, or that its home made, the food ....leaves you speechless. Its as if seva and hospitality grew a sweet little shop.Ive been to quite a few Indian stores with small sweets/chat shops... and even with new management just starting a month ago or so, in my opinion, this place tops the local market and will only get better from here!

I dont think theres a spice for Indian cooking, they dont have here. They even have fresh kari leaves in the grocery department. Theres a rather large frozen food section, too. This local, family-owned store provides friendly service, and excellent vegetarian food items, promptly served in their small cafe.

Terrible customer service. Not sure why the server couldnt apologize and had to pick a fight with me. She told me my order would be ready in 15 minutes but when I showed up 25 minutes later, it wasnt finished. She got angry at ME when I asked why it wasnt ready. Were not a fast food place. Okay, so just say the order will take 25 minutes not 15 minutes. I asked for condiments for both of my orders, and she told me I was Indiansplaining to her how to run her job. But I have ordered from a lot of Indian restaurants and they give condiments quite easily. Is knowing Indian food service based on ethnic birth? That is a racist explanation. She wanted to charge me for the extra condiments. When I asked these questions, she made a personal attack on my job. What job could you do? You must be bad at your job. Really? How does my job performance pertain to my paying for my restaurant food order? Not sure why she escalated her attack and why she couldnt just be a moderate rational individual in the first place. Very nutty overall. I will not return.

This store has a great selection of Indian groceries that youll be hard pressed to find anywhere else. Amazing selection of fair priced spices, bulk grains and legumes. They also serve great and authentic food that is a must try. Do yourself na favor and stop at Indian Grocery and Chaat.

Paneer Parantha Home Made Fresh Makhan to die for Raj kachori was amazingThe food is super reasonably priced on top of that they give you a huge portions and its all homemade all freshon the grocery portion of it is very reasonably priced they have their own label that they sell under so the prices are amazing 👌 the guy that runs a front counter service is amazingwhenever you ask him for help or an item he literally walks over to the item helps you find it puts it in your hand and is extremely friendly they also sell Indian style pastries I would give this place 10 Stars if it was possible

Awesome Indian food. We had the Samosa and Chaat with Yogurt. Garlic Naan and Shahi Paneer. All very flavorful and delicious! There is a large seating area in the back of this market where you can order great Indian food. It’s all vegetarian food. Great find.

I would eat here everyday if i could afford it. not that their prices are too high, Ive fed 4 for less than the same group ate at a fast food place (let alone a sit in restaurant) and still always had leftovers, normally fighting over the leftovers. I went in with my girlfriend on a whim and dont eat out anywhere else now, yet to have a single thing I havent loved, besides the pistachio sweets, but thats a personal distaste to all pistachios... We have been treated like family since day one. However that being said, id recommend if you like mild food, trying their medium... its just right.. the last time i went in my girlfriend and i took pictures of the menu for ordering to go, 135 items and they add new stuff all the time.now as for the store itself, there may be a few items that are more expensive there then elsewhere but i have really come across anything that stood out. rather i have found some spices there way cheaper than elsewhere, and a lot of the spices you simply cant find any where else. Ive read complaints on their customer service and wondered if they walked into the liquor store nearby by mistake.. Ive had help with language barriers and my unfamiliarity with certain spices, never have i felt anything but a respectful compassion... seriously if you walk in to this place and you get attitude from someone, maybe you should go seek some therapy or something because i dont see them wasting their time with such nonsense concepts...Not only would i recommend this place, if you know me youve at least had leftovers with me and loved it. I have a friend in Oklahoma that whenever she comes to visit has to eat here with us. first time she ever tried Indian food here, she had no idea they used cinnamon sticks for a spice. she pulled it out (never seeing a cooked cinnamon stick ) thought it could have been a piece of rubber, didnt stop her from eating the whole bowl before finding out what it really was. when she told us what she thought it was we asked her why she would continue eating it if she thought it might have rubber in it her response was it was delicious, i dont care if it did, i just wanted to finish it before i found out what it was. People return food for finding a single hair resting on the plate... when you say ill eat your food even if you use rubber as a spice, youve officially entered a new realm of delicious..

Love this place, it has everything from groceries to delicicious snack n sweets, one stop shop for all Indian delights, my favourite is mallai kulfi (indian ice cream), its also reasonably priced.Suggestion to ownersConsider opening a section for fresh halal meats, it would be a great addition n increase your business many many folds as you would be catering to wider range of customers, there is j6st one place in Modesto for halal meat as far as u know and its terrible, you have great location and presence, if you start this section Im 100% sure lots of more ppl will come to your store and buy extra stuff you have. Thanks.

There was no taste in food. Sambhar and dosa served with cilantro chutney had no flavor and papri chaat had barely any papri but lots of bhalla. Food lacks the flavor. The gentleman who was handling the counter was nice.

This merchant does not care about customers satisfaction. They only want to sell the products. Once they receive your money, they will not care about the quality of the product. Be careful when you go there because once you bought an item, they will never take it back.

Friendly, family owned Indian Grocery store that also serves freshly made vegetarian food (thali sampler, Masala dosa, papal Paneer, etc.) snacks(samosa chole chaat and more) and breads (Roti, chappati, stuffed breads). And dont forget freshly made desserts- besan, burfi, mango lassi, and much more.

The best Indian restaurant authentic taste and exceptionally clean food in the central valley .I checked out their kitchen area its remarkably clean THE MOST CLEAN KITCHEN I CAN RECALL !!!!! The food is cooked fresh you can see them making it infront of you.All my friends who tried them are fans Dahi papri Gol gappa my all time favourite in addition to other dishes I order depending on my mood.
