Details below on why a one star rating.Shopping experience itself was perfectly fine, items were in stock as expected and easily found. Store was clean and tidy, easily navigated and when I asked for help, the lady I spoke with was courteous and efficient. She even took time to show where the item I was searching for was moved to.This would ordinarily warrant a five star rating from me, being that the shopping experience itself met my criteria, however the cashier I had at checkout was positively rude, disrespectful, and extremely pushy. No, I didnt want to sign up for the red card, and no..I didnt want to be bullied nor harassed into applying for it because she insisted I should.I politely declined it right off the bat, and for the duration of my transaction (approximately 7-10 minutes) she kept attempting to push me into signing up for it and attempting to provide a lecture on how thinking about it isnt doing it when I told her that I had indeed thought about it but decided not to at this time, but thank you anyhow for asking. Normally, when you lead with a simple statement like that it changes the conversation towards how the day is, or other polite topics. I would prefer to not receive a degrading lecture in front of other customers after politely declining a program signup.Target, i understand cashiers are trained to encourage customers to sign up, and if I had to guess are expected to meet a certain quota during set periods of time..but that manner was not appropriate, and it is not the first time it has occurred at this location. I have not had this type of uncomfortable experience at Riverbank, and am quite thankful of such.
Its a clean store. That and I bought my original Nintendo Entertainment System Deck at the Target on McHenry. So, it brings me a fun dose of nostalgia shopping there. It was when the electronics section was behind plexiglass in the back right corner of the store. Probably no ones old enough to recall that. I think it was 1988. Good times.

This place might have everything you need and it has a food court you can eat at but everything is so expensive even the food at the food court is expensive usually everything was a little not so expensive, but when the pandemic hit all Targets raised the prices up 5X which some Targets have now closed their food courts for obvious reasons. I don’t shop at Target for that main reason there’s literally nothing it’s like Burlington only clothes but which food.
I love shopping there and always find what I need.

Target has some good deals but not lots. A special was going on when I shopped - buy three crest products and receive a $5 gift card back. Sounded great until I looked at my receipt. I received the $5 gift card but also paid for it! That is just wrong. If Target wants to keep customers, they better get their act together. When you earn a $5 gift card for buying a certain number of items, you should not have to pay for that $5.

I like this target for quick shopping. Its got starbucks inside which is a huge plus! Also, right next door to Ulta & T.J Maxx. I usually get dog treats, cleaning supplies, home decor here. I used to buy clothes sometimes but their quality in clothing has really went down hill. Love getting all my baby supplies here and kids clothes. Great friendly staff here.

I’ve been to this Target several times in August. The parking lot is filthy and full of trash. Reminds me of the old K-Mart! Clean that up!

The store was closed and the cashier was ringing up the last line of customers. We happened to be the last customers.My partner went to the back of the store while I waited in line to go grab something last minute. The lady in front of us had to do the same thing, so she let us go ahead of her in line.THE REGISTER WAS NOT EVEN CLOSED YET at this point, as the cashier began scanning our items when that nice lady came back with her 1 item that she forgot.As she came back to the line, there was a female manager with long black hair (tied into a pony tail) chewing her out in a very heated and condescending manner, telling the lady that “she wasn’t going to let her buy any of the 3 items she had, and that she would put them on hold for pickup tomorrow, because she decided to go grab an item she forgot.” I will note that she was yelling back and forth across two register lanes, probably hiding behind one because she knew she was in a heated conversation, and instead of diffusing the situation with the managerial skills she should have, she continued to yell and argue at the lady.One of the most infuriating things the manager told her, was that the lady didn’t “ask permission” to go grab the last minute item... I had no idea a customer had to ask a store employee permission to go and put money in the pockets of a company like Target, I thought Target would actually love if a customer chose to buy 3 items instead of 2, but this terrible manager conveyed differently.The lady was well tempered, although incredulous to a degree because she was probably just as confused as we were from the manager’s poor customer service skills.We all understand that the employees want to go home after a long day, but that does not excuse the behavior of that manager, taking out her frustrations on the customer, who again, is putting more money in the pockets of the company.And in retrospect, this customer could have been myself, or my partner who ALSO went to go grab something last minute.I wrote this review for that poor lady, who was at least “allowed” to buy 2 out of her 3 items because I don’t think this kind of treatment is acceptable, especially coming from a manager who is supposed to be a role model for other target employees whose customer service skills should come first.Please, if you read this, we the customer know you are tired, and we know times are hard, but do not use that as an excuse to make things harder for your customers, no matter how right you think you are. Also, you never know how violent people can get from heated situations, so instead of continuing to argue with a customer, DO THE SAFEST THING AND DIFFUSE THE SITUATION. Other customers especially DO NOT want to see poor managerial skills, nor do we want to hear you yelling at another customer. Be better.
Im impressed with how friendly the people are who work there. Its xmas time and they are swamped, but never did i hear a negative word. They are patient and kind. As for the store, they literally have everything! And you can buy very low and also higher. Finished my xmas shopping and groceries all in one evening. That put a smile on my face!!!

The woman who helped me got my order right away even though my phone wasnt able to allow her to scan the barcode. Extremely friendly and pleasant. Just a smooth way to buy online and pick up.

This morning I experienced my first curbside pick up. Shopping this way was quite simple, as the app is extremely user friendly, unlike Walmarts app. I was frustrated with theirs so tried Target. Good choice on my part! I had no sooner clicked onto I am here when my order was at my car. I was unaware I needed to have my shopper scan my barcode, but that was no problem. She graciously said she could not accept tips. I was disappointed! Also disappointed I did not get her name. I will certainly shop Target curbside again. Thank you for providing this excellent service!

I had coupons and they accepted them right off our phone when they did not scan. Thought that was nice of them. Never really busy there so I can get in and out quite quickly, although one person at the Starbucks is not good.

This store has the most incompetent Associates especially in the electronic depertment. They put you on hold and LIE about checking on an item. How do this? I called while in the store, asked for an item, then the female associate said she was going to check which she DIDNT then said she was going to connect me with another department. She just hung up. I confronted her, but she f**king denied everything. Worthless team members

I love Target store and the brands. I also like the Target pickup, where I order on the app and then my order ready within 2 hours. When I get to the store, I don’t even have to get out of my car. I’m very happy with the pickup service!

12/17/19 Once again Target on McHenry is out of everything! Shelves are empty! Nothing is pulled forward nothing filled so once again I am going to Raley’s! Not even going to another Target! Whomever is the Manager should be ashamed of themselves! Your store looks horrible and your employees don’t have any pride in their work! Corporate hear me I’m not the only customer sick of it!!!
Sales associate Kevin who was helping monitor lines outside today was simply amazing . I have an autistic child who was having a meltdown outside and Kevin did everything to help with the situation by counting out my sons toys with him . It’s extremely difficult to go to stores but Kevin was so incredibly patient and kind . He deserves all the recognition in the world !
I was very displeased with the cashier service that my wife and I received at the Mchenry target. The cashiers name was TIM. My wife and I had coupons to baby formula. He Informed us that it was a limited amount of coupons per can. We told him the last time we were there, a young lady that was very polite and gave us great customer service. Helped us out with everything we needed. She might have been a manager. Maybe that’s why. Tim needs more training on customer service. Not just stay quiet when a customer has a concern. If you don’t have an answer get someone who does. I can tell you my wife and I love target because they pride themself on there guest. There guest is the main concern. So I can tell you that anytime TIM is working we will avoid his line.
While the store tends to be a bit messy at times, I’ve almost always had great customer service. The majority of the cashiers are very pleasant, and on this evenings trip to the store, I have to give extreme kudos to “Naomi” who was working in the cafe. She had the most excellent customer service. Tonight was the first time she’s helped me (I’m a regular customer), and I have to say “thank you Naomi, for making this Target trip more enjoyable, job well done!”

Employees are great, very helpful. Just wish they were more in stock with products and that theyd put out product that they do have in stock when theyre supposed to, not several days to a week later. Otherwise Id give them a 5 Star.

Not one negative thing to say. Good service. Not long wait. Nice people who work here. Store is clean and not ransacked like the one in Riverbank. I remember when I first started shopping at the Target in Riverbank it was really nice and the customers that came in just seems like it was more of a middle to upper-class and in my opinion I think in a way that thats why it was a nice store and it was kept nice. And I loved the people that worked there but then over time the good people quit because of management issues. And it went downhill from there. One in Riverbank just always a huge mess all the time. This ones nice👍to go to.

Good store for a variety of shopping needs. Handicap parking was good for my elderly grandma. However, the bathrooms were in an inconvenient location, not real clean, & the stall doors didnt lock!!! However, the staff were friendly & they offered a fair amount of sugar free items for those who have diabetic needs. Overall I was satisfied with my shopping experience, but the bathrooms need a serious over haul!!!

I spent hours online creating order for grandsons birthday only to have card declined at end, so I went into store instead to pick out items in person. Spent another 2 hrs or more running back and forth in store looking for new items because items online were not available in store. Had a very nice employee (thankfully) scan unmarked clearance items and I wrote them on boxes so I wouldn’t forget. I was overcharged on one toy and explained that items were previously scanned by an employee and were coming up different on her register. She corrected the one item reluctantly after asking another employee for a scanner she didn’t have, and I assumed she had corrected the other items also. My mistake! I didn’t notice until later at home when I was showing my daughter what was purchased. She looked at the receipt and found a $15+ difference in the prices I was given verses what I was actually charged. She even tried matching the numbers on the boxes with the receipt to look them up online, but they are totally different. I was unable to return to the store due to a health issue, so for 3 days in a row I tried to reach someone by phone to try and resolve the problem. Two times no one answered the phone at all, and when someone finally did answer the following day I kept getting transferred to guest services. No one ever answered so I’d get sent right back to the original person who repeatedly transferred me to the same department until I finally hung up almost 20 minutes later! Worst customer service I have ever experienced! I got off the phone and cut my card into little pieces! If my time and hard earned money is not worthy of honest and courteous customer service I will gladly take my business elsewhere! I could never understand why the new generation does everything online instead of in person, but this is a prime example. And probably one of the reasons so many store buildings are actually closing. Customer service is no longer #1. And as I sit here writing this I am wondering to myself...how many hundreds, or even thousands, of customers get overcharged and never notice? So dishonest! I think my next letter/call on Monday will be to Curtis at News10. He has an honest way of getting answers!

Overall a nice and well kept store with friendly staff. Clothing shelves are often messy and hard to navigate, some things go out of stock with a level of frequency. Overall nice place to shop.
Honestly, this was one of the first Targets in the area before Riverbank or the Sisk location. Because everyone now goes to the other two stores, this store is usually less crowded and will have most items in stock. The parking isnt too bad and they have a decent Starbucks inside. If I cant find an item or size at the other two, this one will usually have it. Did I mention its less crowded? Its worth the drive from Riverbank- where there is a Target store.
Was there today to buy a few items, but when I saw the shelf tags that states $15 I purchased a couple extra items to get the gift card. I was told at the register that I didnt buy the right items. I told her I pulled my items directly on the shelf where the notice was located. The cashier sent me to Customer Service, but I was obviously a nuisance and she made it clear she didnt have time to deal with me. I took a employee and pointed out where I got my items from and they just shrugged their shoulders. Time to just find a store that is willing to listen and live up to what the store promotes. I refuse to buy online. Want to help the local business. But they are forcing me to go online.
First of all, I gave the cashier 2 gift cards, she only checked one. I told her I gave her 2. She kept telling me no. Until I told her, where she placed it. It was buy 2 boxes of diapers and get a 10 dollar gift card. The cashier didnt want to give me the gift card. Ive never had this problem at any other target.And now I remember why I dont like this one
What everyone says is true.. Its not the most organized store. I often find myself resorting to Amazon for things I should be able to find in Target due to items being out of stock. I have also been here a few times where the lines were SUPER long and the management just didnt care. 3 stars because the staff Ive encountered on the floor were helpful but every time I go to this Target (which is quite often) Im less and less satisfied overall. Hopefully they can change it around soon

This Target is an older & smaller store but they are a VERY friendly & usually always have what Im looking for. On the rare occasion that they dont have something, they are very helpful in finding the item at a nearby location. Love this Target :)
This pertains to target Pick Up service. Waited in line for 20 minutes. Only one clerk and she was handling Returns and Exchanges. Finally had to find someone wo could reach a Pick Up personel. Very frustrating.
I had a return and had to stay in line for 15 minutes. The line was long and there was one employee helping with online pickups, no one was assigned for the return line.It seems a manager was there and asked other employees to come help, Ive noticed at other targets the managers help when the lines are this backed up, instead she stood there asking others to come.I am so disappointed with Target. During Christmas, retail stores are busy and they dont have enough employees. I know retail businesses love to save hours, but I am sure they have enough hours to give to employees to help customers!In the checkout section there were a few cashier with long lines and two of the self checkout registers were out of order. Its really sad for target to be looking like a Walmart.
