Took my car in to get a simple amp and sub install and killed my stereo system. They said it worked for a few seconds before it shut off, I guess the installer got scared and just stopped working on it instead of trying to fix it. Ive replaced almost everything that ties into the stereo and still have no sound.

STAY AWAY. !!!!! Took vehicle in for alarm system. fried the radio and then claimed it was nothing they did. it worked pulling in the driveway and now it dont. Stock radio shows other vehicle information and they are programed to vehicles vin number, so you cannot just throw in another stock radio it will not work. it is going to cost me $1000 to have dealership replace radio programed to my vehicles vin to work again. the remote battery on alarm died and after replacing battery, the proximity sensor stopped working. brought it by and they could not be bothered to reprogram the remote again. they do not know how to manage their time. They cannot focus and are running around like chickens. Have to many projects going at the same time, the work preformed and promised times of completion suffers for it.

Hands down best place to get whatever you need! Paul the owner is the best and he never lets you down. There service is great! I had all my cars done there and I wont go no where else. I definitely recommend coming here for any service 😊

Horrible job done still having issues owner was all over the place and very unprofessional him and he’s wife the Techs and owner did horrible I had to buy 2 batteries due to draining my car battery!!!!!! Never trust them!!!!!!

From Sacramento I was sold to clapped out 12s Phoenix gold an amp that can barely push the 12s a box that rattled apart There were some decent 12s there but not for sale at the end of the day Amazon save the day 2 sundown 12s brutus 2416 super d amp zapco crossover for about 1000 I went in told the gentleman what I wanted they did not deliver highly doubt they would make it right

Because they kept my Jeep all day and didnt start working on it tell late and I had to pick it up after 9:00 p.m. and it still wasnt done they had me bring it back in a week so they could finish the alarm.but, then again after 9:00 p.m. I went to pick up my jeep.it still wasnt done.they said bring it back in a week .I did and I was able to pick it up at 8;00 p.m. but Im not happy with the work hey did I feel that they over charged me for the month long ordeal. I give the shop a - 10. Thank you be careful.

Top notch when I went to get a quote.(Totally ready to drop over 2500.00).Decided to go with them. Then called to say that, and ask if one part could be changed out, and to call me to set up an install time. Left this exact message along with my contact details. Then never got a call back. So.....

Employee Tiz fast talked me into buying a Pheonix Gold Amp, a brand that Ive never heard of. 30 minutes later I received an awesome deal on the amp I originally wanted and tried to return the UNTOUCHED amp, only to be told there are no returns. Its on the receipt he says. Never pointes that out to me and I was literally there no more than 30 minutes prior. He wants me to give a good review for the store. I recommend not to go anywhere where they are not clear up front about a return policy, especially after stating your doubts about a brand theyre pushing that youve never heard of.

These people are very extremely rude they are not professionals they rip me off when I went in there and they knew that they were ripping me off and they still can continue doing that I have dyslexia and I they knew that you can you could tell when someone has dyslexia but I bet they thought you know maybe hes a drug addict you know but I hope that their people skills and their will get better and I hope that they get drug

Let me start by saying that I usually dont bother with reviews. That said, Ill try to make this brief. I went shopping a year ago for a system for my truck, and it led me to McHenry where there are 3 major audio installers within 1 mile of each other. I went to one shop, and when they basically asked me if I knew what an RCA jack was; I was a little insulted. I took my business to Car Audio Outlaws and they hooked me up with a sick system for a good price. Recently, my speakers have been going out one by one (I play pretty loud music). I went today, and within minutes they had fixed the issue with one, but when the back two didnt work they hung on to my truck for the afternoon. I went back to pick it up and asked how much I owed, and he handed me the keys. I asked what happened and he basically told me that they replaced my back two speakers because Id blown them out. I was shocked. Excellent customer service! Im not saying my experience is typical, but it was definitely awesome. Ill definitely be loyal to these guys in the future.

Recently had a DVD player installed on my van and they did a great job. The price was fair. The install was very clean and it looks great. My kids are super happy on long drives. I would recommend these guys.

Car Audio Outlaws is one of the best shops in Modesto to get one of my subs fixed. They ended up finding a problem with my sub and converter. I liked that they explained it to me and showed me some great sub options at a reasonable price. Left there happy and couldnt have asked for a better experience. These guys do a great job. They have done the stereo in my 2011 F250, my new 2017 F350, my girl friends truck and jeep and several of my friends. They dont try to oversell and they stand behind their work. I have taken my truck back in after 2 years with issues with a speaker. No idea what was wrong but is taken care of, no charge. I recommend them.

Low brow place on South McHenry. Parking is rough, almost no room. Im a repeat customer cause they tend to you almost immediately, finish your work right then if they can (as opposed to Best buy where they told me to come back in 18 days), and charge you appropriately for what you need done. Also if you need a small fix they dont try to sell you a big fix.

New pioneer stereo with all the fancy stuff and remote start. Couldnt have been happier with the customer service or installation. My husband is extremely happy with his birthday present!

I have a 2003 Subaru Baja and these guys tried really hard to get this right. I had an aftermarket radio installed and when they did the install the radio FM receiver did not work and the dome light never came on. There was a grounding issue they were able to fix the next day, but overall it took 3 days to fix my vehicle. The FM receiver still doesnt work, Im looking at replacing the antenna. Maybe that will fix it. It worked before them. The staff was really nice, but they didnt fix my radio properly, every estimate of time they gave me was off by hours, and I never got my old aftermarket radio back. I live over an hour away and just havent the time to go get it...if they even have it. The people were great but Im rating my experience, and it was far less than perfect. I dont think the guys are incapable of the job, just my specific vehicle gave then trouble they were not equipped for.

I love this place!!! I went in to buy bluetooth stereo and to get them installed. Needless to say I had a great experience. The first thing I noticed was how professional and friendly they were. From the time I stepped into the building, I was graciously greeted and assisted immediately. Being that I am woman I was apprehensive whether or not I was going to be taken advantage of. However, I was pleasantly surprised that wasnt the case here. I particularly loved the store manager Ernie. Ernie really took his time thoroughly explaining the numerous products to me. He carefully made sure I didnt feel overwhelmed and pressured to buy anything right away. He made me feel extremely comfortable. I also really enjoyed the installer Richard. Before I gave my car away, Ernie introduced Richard to me making sure I knew who was handling my car. They wanted me to feel assured my property was in great hands. I really enjoyed Richard. He was very friendly and professional as well. Richard did a Fantastic job!! He not only installed great lights on my car, but he was very gentle and showed great pride in his work, which showed. While I was waiting, I noticed how friendly and attentive they were with everyone. I could tell this place values of their customers. ( Its sad to say but thats not always the case anymore with businesses) I cant express enough how much I loved my experience. I appreciate everything they did for me. Theyre great guys with great service!! I highly recommend it to everyone!!!

Had stereo installed and the lights on my HVAC contoller no longer light up, car audio outlaws would not accept liability, told me the lights burned out on the controller and I need to change them. There are no lights to change as it is a sealed unit. I brought everything needed to do the install, but they decided not to use the parts I brought and used whatever they wanted to use

I recently had a subpar experience with another local stereo shop on McHenry that I have used over the years. The guys at the other shop didnt even bother to walk out to my truck to listen to what I currently had. They quickly suggested that I buy an Alpine type X sub and an Alpine mono amp (1000 watts RMS), slapped the sub in a pre-fab box and sent me on my way after almost 3 hours. I was told the wait would be 1 hour and 15 mins tops. I was not happy with the sound at all. It was not much better than what I had before (Boston Acoustics G2 10 inch sub, Alpine mono amp), plus the new amp would shut off after 6 or 7 seven songs due to over heating. I felt like they didnt listen at all to what I had said I was looking for. I wanted hard hitting punchy bass, not deep boomy sloppy bass. They wouldnt let me return the equipment, but at least the owner swapped me out for a better amp at not additional cost. At this point, I decided to try Car Audio Outlaws. My neighbor recommended them and told me to ask for Carl. Long story short: Carl sat in my truck and listened to what I had, then he listened to what I wanted, took time to offer me a few options, gave his opinion and said he would make sure I was happy. I had never had Phoenix Gold subs before, but decided to give them a try since thats what he recommended. They built me an awesome custom box under the back seat of my crew cab F-150 and put two PG 10 inch shallow mount subs. They sound awesome! Very punchy and hard hitting-exactly what I was looking for. I am very happy with the outcome and will be recommending Carl to anybody and everybody looking for stereo equipment.
