I ran into Sephora this afternoon to pick up a bottle of my favorite perfume. Unfortunately they were sold out, apparently its everyone elses favorite too. The two young ladies on shift tonight we so helpful, they only had my scent in a gift set of four. I was desperate so I snatched it up. Came home and the other three scents were lovely in their own right. The girls also helped me pick out a wonderful eyeliner. Not only were they absolute sweethearts to me but they were giving that same energy to the other customers as well. Its not often that you receive attentive customer service and I appreciated it. I will definitely be going back.

Honestly, I don’t like that when you walk in the girls start keeping an eye on you and I got asked like 5 times if I needed help 🙄to the point where I was irritated because I couldn’t shop in peace . They acted like if I was going to steal somthing and they made it too obvious that they were keeping an eye . The next time I went in with my makeup on they left me alone . I can’t stand stores like these . They need to learn how to ask atleast once if we need help and then let people shop without being all up in their face .

I might as well walked in with the plague as sales people walked right past me...I wandered and looked for some time with no offers of assistance. I finally found what I went for but had a few questions so went to the register to ask for assistance and the girl questioned if anyone had been helping me...told her I had been there for 15 minutes!!...she did send someone to help me. My questions were answered I made my purchase and left...

I have no idea why this location has bad reviews. I went today and had my makeup done, it was clean, the service was great and my makeup artist was super friendly. If people seemed like they needed help she would pause doing my makeup for just a few seconds and radio for someone to help. When I was shopping I was offered help by a few of the staff and when I paid they allowed me to get my free birthday item even though I was a month late. Like I said, I seriously have no idea why this location has bad reviews.

I got my wife a $50 gift card for her birthday and she loves Sephora! When we walked in noone greeted us and when people came in right after us they were getting greeted and were helped right away. We spent almost 30 minutes NOT one person came to help. We told the girl at the register, Lexi how bad it was and she was the only friendly one. Honestly we felt very offended especially because I got her the gift card and for us especially her a loyal customer to be treated like that was insulting. She likes Ulta too and we will most likely go there where we are treated better and have never had issues. Lexi offered her free samples my wife turned it down and told her we didnt want free stuff. They treated us like we had no $$$ mind you my wife paid $70 + dollars.

The place is not that big compared to other Sephora’s I have visited. The employees follow you around in a very awkwardly manner.We came for my daughters 16th birthday because she wanted make up from Sephora therefore she was swatching and testing on products never did an employee ask to help. I personally asked a male employee if he could help me and he said as soon as I am done with my other customer.... uhm there was no other customer anywhere, well I was like okay. He continued to just stand by the mirror applying some product. I hope he gets better training.

This year I went through Chemotherapy, by my 4th treatment I had a thin line of eyebrows left. Feeling very self-conscious I finally ventured out to Sephora in search of a brow kit or something to help me fill in my brows. I am not a make-up person what so ever so I was lost.An associated named Nelly came to my rescue. She sat with me and patiently showed me start to finish how to complete my brows. At a time when I was feeling so vulnerable and sad Nelly really stepped up to help me. I will never forget her kindness and patients. Thank you, Nelly.

I went in to do an exchange of skincare products, I asked the first person I encountered if I could do the exchange I showed her the items she said yes, as Im getting the new product I am unfortunate enough to be approached by an Indian lady whose been there for 10 years. She didnt help with product questions but she did go above and beyond to be a c!@t, Im used to b?!$h status at some Sephoras this was new. She proceeded to tell me I had been missed informed by the first associate that new policies were in place that I would not be allowed to return or exchange anything that I was stuck with the items I felt like I was being dismissed it in other words being told to leave as I would not be helped I had almost $200 Of w HH at I considered useless product. As she continues on her soapbox and upset me further I tell her that the website does not reflect the policies shes stating, she was acting as if had stolen said items or I couldnt afford them & wanted my money back when I knew full well I was past the return deadline for a refund. She proceeded to tell me that I should see results on all skincare within 4 wks and I shouldve been there by3/31 it was too bad for me.Her confrontational attitude and rudeness has no place in a customer service position. As I responded that if this was in fact the new policy no exchanges after 60 days the other associate should be told since she had said I was fine to exchange I informed her I could go spend $750 on one visit at another store like Ulta, her response was Do You, do what you gotta do, Sephora isnt the place for you! By now Im visibly upset dont know why I didnt give her a show of how to be a c$&t. But lucky for me another associate saw me upset she was helpful, the first associate I had spoken to was the store manager so I was fine I was doing what is allowed within Sephoras policies I exchanged my items for products that were better suited suggested by A knowledgeable associate who took the time to show me the products and make sure they complimented my primer. At the end of my visit I left satisfied but those interactions leave you unwilling to spend more on new purchases. I know Sephora has a Sephora University perhaps they should add charm school for these special types of associates.

Have gone in two times for a foundation match. Both times walked out with foundation way darker than me and makes me look orange! They swatch me but its hard to tell in store if it works so i go with their expertise. When im out in day light thats when i truly see how unmatched i am.. $$ wasted im going back to Mac where they can match well.. Idk if its the artists or the lighting that messes up the matching but im so fustrated!

So disappointed in this stores customer service! I went to return a product with a receipt and since they could not find the original purchase in their computer they would not give me a refund, only a store credit. So they are basically calling me a thief then want me to spend more money in their store? Not my fault their system is screwed up. When I called the manager to complain and tell her this was unacceptable I was even further disgusted. Not only was she rude, her appearance was not what I would expect from a store trying to market upper scale products. She refused to give me the money back so long story short, I will never shop there again. Hope the purchase was worth losing a long term customer. Plenty of other places with a mall right there:)

The Sephora in JCPENNYS located in Modesto, Ca is the best. Of course, theres the wonderful cosmetics, fragrance, etc..however, the reason I choose to use this store as opposed to the main store is because of the employees. There are 3 in particular who are the kindest, and ALWAYS willing to give advice and who basically are the best sales associates Ive ever met. Theres MONICA, DIANA KIM, TERA H. These ladies are so nice. I always feel that I am the top priority & without a doubt, they always give me their full attention while assisting me. So, if you need to purchase something at Sephora, I highly recommend the one in Jcpennys in Modesto. Youre lucky if you get one of the three SAs mentioned above. Thank you Monica, Diana, & Tera!!
