All of the fabric that I have ever ordered from CS has been high quality. When I received the swatches, I was pleased with the color selection as well as the fabric choices. I liked receiving the pattern ideas for the fabric choices, as it gave a clue as to whether I would like the fabric. I was not disappointed with the packet and immediately ordered more fabric. Now the fun begins.

I LOVE this store! Whenever we visit our daughter I get to visit it. But in the meantime I anticipate their Swatch service. Living in the desert southwest, I do not have an independent fashion fabric store so these swatches allow me to see and feel the current trends in fabric. So much fun!!

I discovered this wonderful store this summer while visiting Missoula. I love garment sewing and it is sometimes difficult to find quality fabrics. I walked into this store amazed at the linens, linen blends and the high quality flannel. Kate was generous with her time showing me various fabrics for ideas that her stores inventory generated. I Read more about review stating LOVE this store and the fabricsleft with several projects. Once back home in Phoenix, I needed fabric for additional fabrics, including some for quilts. In the last 2 months, I have placed 3 orders...never disappointed with the fabric. I love the quick response to questions, the swatch service, and giving you the option of ordering matching your thread. My orders always arrive timely, in perfect shape. Supporting good local businesses, even if they are 2000 miles away, always feels good. I wish Phoenix had a Confident Stitch.

Ordered 2 Fall Swatch Sets and absolutely loved them! Went to the TCS site to order more fabric and was WOWED by their selection. Can hardly wait for the next Swatch Set.

I LOVE this store! They have quality garment sewing fabrics including waxed canvas, raw silk and some quilting cottons. They have a wonder selection of well organized indie patterns. Also, their notions area has some hard to find specialty notions along with the usual notions. The clerk was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They sell online also. One of my favorite garment fabric shops ever!

This store rocks. Responsive, helpful, with great fabric selection. Kind and fast service both in person and long distance. They added a fabric to their online store so I could purchase from afar, within 2 minutes of my calling to ask if a different color was in stock. Also, sweet notes and cute label swag in their shipping boxes! Exceptional quality fabric. Everything Ive sewed has held up beautifully in the wash. I prewash cold before sewing without separating fabrics by color (I know this is risky) but nothing has ever bled in the wash, out of 20+ fabrics. When I visit Missoula, this is one of my favorite places to stop.

Haven’t had a chance to shop in person yet, but it is now my first online stop when I’m starting a new project! Kate spent over an hour with me on FaceTime during their big fat quarter sale, and helped me select 60(!) different pieces for a very specific project - she was so helpful, and I loved everything she helped me pick! Planning a road trip to be able to shop in person soon 😊

A great road trip stop - and it would be a great local shop for those in the area. Nice selection of quality quilt and garment fabrics as well as patterns. Staff were nice and unobtrusive, but helpful. Really enjoyed poking around.

Stopped in as we drove thru Missoula this summer. WOW! I loved that store- had the finest fabrics and designer patterns. And the staff were knowledgeable and nice. Wish I lived closer -but thankfully they have online sales. New favorite fabric store! Thanks.

The staff were very helpful. Im very new to sewing and they helped me pick out a pattern that wouldnt be too difficult, appropriate fabric and supplies for it. They were very nice and patient even though I had just about no idea what I was doing.

The Confident Stitch is my very favorite fabric store. Its full of high quality, unique, beautiful, and diverse fabrics, notions, etc. They do so many classes, plus charity and social events, art exhibits, shopping services, and many other cool things that make this business a hub for garment makers, quilters, and other sewists, both in person and online. And the Front Street location is just so prime!I just got my first swatch service today, and Im thrilled! Such an affordable experience, but it feels like a fun luxury. The store is more of a multi purpose sewing store than a quilting store, (not that they advertise or imply they are a quilt store). There wasnt as big of a quilting cotton fabric selection as I hoped. But they were open until 5pm vs 4pm (for the other Missoula quilt stores) and the woman who helped me was warm and welcoming. I was happy to see some fabric Ive not seen elsewhere and got some great math fabric and terrarium fabric to use with an in-the-hoop Anita Goodesign embroidery pattern. It was a busy warm summer Saturday and hard to find a parking spot in the public lot behind the store. We did not realize there are some dedicated store spots accessible from the alley behind the store. There are plenty of restaurants nearby to look for a spot to eat before or after visiting the shop.

The folks here gave me so much help trying to find just the right fabrics for a baby blanket.

Ive never reviewed a place online before but felt like I should review The Confident Stitch because I had such a pleasant visit! Im new to sewing and when I went in, she helped me pick out and match fabrics, showed me several patterns for a top I wanted to make, and was able to find every piece for a pillow project. I wish I lived here full time to be able to visit more often! Thank you!

The Confident Stitch is my absolute favorite independent fabric store. I was lucky enough to find them through a Facebook ad years ago even though I live out-of-state. I joined their amazing sewing community group on Facebook, and they are always so helpful and kind. I especially love that each product page on their website lists ideas of different things to make with the fabric. Thats an extra length that most fabric stores dont go to, and it really helps someone like me who is buying fabric online, new to garment sewing, and not very familiar with different types of fabric. Their recommendations and help are always spot-on, and the fabric I order from them is always great quality.

Just stopped in to get a replacement zipper pull. Had been at JoAnn and they were ridiculously overpriced. The clerk was very helpful and I got my jacket fixed for 1/30th of the price I would have paid otherwise. I do a little repair sewing and random projects, plan to make this my very first stop in the future!! Great selection of gorgeous fabrics of all kinds as well as general notions to do all you would need. Highly recommend this place!

I thought I responded to this but it doesnt look like it posted. I have always supported this store (and I know numerous folks who have had or do have affiliation with your business). I am not a maker but I have friends whom I have hired to do custom upholstery for me. I am also big fan of locally owned. I was in a few weeks ago to take an initial look at some fabrics for a bench cushion and your staff were great (there were two young women working at the time). I went home with a few samples. I went back yesterday after getting final measurements to look at additional fabrics because I felt the samples I got the first time may not have been durable enough. Upon entering, I explained this to the one person who was working and she was not only unhelpful but she gave me attitude. She was dismissive and demeaning. Despite the disappointing customer service, I looked around for a bit and then left. I wont hold it against the entire business, but I thought you should know.

Great store, amazing fabric selection! Im very new to sewing on a machine and the staff was very helpful in explaining what Id need to make a baby blanket for a friend. Im excited to learn more and hope to attend some of their classes in the future!

I stopped by this shop last week during a Montana vacation. Any expectations I had were completely surpassed. This is a gem of a fabric store! So many lovely fabrics for apparel sewing. The shop owner was extremely friendly and helpful. I wish I lived closer to Missoula so I could frequent this store in person. They do have a well-organized website, so Im sure Ill be shopping on there.

Love this newer fabric shop in downtown Missoula. They have the best selection of fabrics for sewing garments. Not only does she have high quality fabrics, they are sold for an affordable price. They carry many of my favorite independent patterns, such as Colette and Oliver and S.Parking hint: if you can’t find parking in front, additional parking is available in the back of the building.

They have high quality fabric and an array of notions and patterns to get you going on your next project. They have great sewing classes as well! I have been to the Confident Stitch many times and have always been met with a friendly greeting and a willingness to help me locate what I was looking for. The fabric selection if refreshing, something is always new to the store. They keep me stitching!

I came to the shop that opens at 10, only to be greeted by a sign that said sorry, opening at 12, on a Wednesday. I was 40 minutes early so walked around the shops on a hot day. I came back and the 12 on the sign was scratched out to 12:30. Im on vacation from out of town and didnt have time to wait another 30 minutes. Very disappointed. You really shouldnt have training during business hours. Please call and check that theyre open before you go!

So nice to have found a quality fabric shop for garment sewing. They have the largest selection of knits Ive seen anywhere. Looking forward to taking a class or two in the near future.

Unfriendly woman when asking questions. Was not the owner. Nice fabric but found it to be unfriendly and alienating when speaking about a project and asking questions. Told me she couldnt speak to it because it was time that cost money and she couldnt spare it. Quite sad, actually.
