I brought my car in since I got into an accident. They had my car for several weeks and when I picked it up the brakes were making a terrible screeching sound, there where pistachio shells on the ground in my backseat (I don’t eat pistachios), and my new masks I bought were missing from my glove box. I was so annoyed with the whole experience I brought my car to another shop whose turn around time was way less time and much more professional. Don’t waste your time or money here!

I was driving through Uptown when my beloved 2020 GMC Sierra went into limp mode, where the engine power is reduced, and about 5 different warnings came across my display. I limped the truck into Honest-1 and it was diagnosed the same day. Unfortunately, the brakes had experienced and issue and wore down through the rotors and damaged the calipers. Honest-1 sent me photos right away. Since the vehicle is newer, the went out of their way to get the parts from various dealers and had the whole thing done within a few days despite the shipping. The GMC dealer was 2 weeks out for even an appointment. Marc and the crew at Honest 1 saved my tail. Thank you!

Developed an alternator problem on the highway while driving to Minneapolis. My daughter found this business and spoke to Andrew, who was very helpful, on the phone. We drove right there and they were able to fix our car the same afternoon. Everyone was very attentive and professional. Highly recommend!

I’ve gone to here quite a few times now and they are now my go-to car mechanics. They’re super nice and professional and take time to explain exactly what’s going on and the options for fixing it. They’re thorough and give a detailed service report. I also like that they advise you of upcoming maintenance at each visit so you can budget for things that will be coming down the road.

They took my car in when I had mistakenly made my appointment for another Honest1 location, got to it that day she called within a couple hours to let me know the diagnosis. They explained everything that was wrong then got started fixing it right away. My car was there for less than a day and they replaced the front brakes, and rear wheel bearings. They were fast, very friendly and informative! They also made using the coupons that are online super easy, no hassle. Definitely recommend.

I really don’t want this to be a negative review however I spent way too much for the services I received, I had to get my brake light fixed and then they charged me 87 for that and a brake inspection. Then come to find out I needed new brakes and rotors which okay fine that’s fine whatever. But I brought my car in at my appointment at noon and it took them four hours just to work on it, I had a lot of things to do and work so I wasted an entire day when I thought it’d only be half a day, I think they’re very overpriced and misleading but at least my car is fixed. Maybe just ask questions about pricing before getting scheduled maintenance done, nice sweet customer service I just felt like the brake job was unnecessary and overpriced.

Well, yes they did change the oil. Paid the full price for full synthetic oil change . Incudes 5 q oil, spin on oil filter, 21 point inspection, blah blah blah. I bought my own oil filter( K& N ). I have been using since I bought the car. Dont care for theirs whatever they use. Being told that I cant do that. I said wait .Since your filter is included in the oil change I just want to save you the filter by using my own I purchased . Same with the oil plug. Every other oil change I do install a new one. I cant do that either being told. They have to sell me one. For how much ??? Oh for about 15 dollars. Did I say I paid 2 .49 retail at the parts store ??? Yes Im a true believer of free enterprise, believer of making money BUT it must be logical. Things that make sense. Oh One last thing. Did I mentioned I never received the 21 point check up??NEW HOPE location.

I had a good experience with Honest-1. They were fast and informative. I came in for a tire repair and oil change. When the tire repair did not go as planned, they gave me good advice on next steps.

I had a laundry list of things to get done. They took the time to answer and check everything carefully, and gave super great advice for my specific car and needs. My car has a lot of bells and whistles and they took the time to call my dealership to get some inside info on parts, and explained why it’s not in my best interest to try to fix something about my car from a third party, something I probably would have tried. Truly feel they’re looking out for me!

I RARELY write reviews, though in this case, the service I received was so awful. It was completely rude and unprofessional. I was speaking to Mark who refused to answer my questions, kept talking over me when I was asking for clarity, and began yelling at me when I asked him to slow down, pause, and to address my actual question. I had a starter replaced which cost over $1000 already. He then acknowledged the car started right up, even though the starter is what they actually replaced. He then told me the starter was under warranty, which doesnt make any difference if the car continues to not start and it is another issue altogether. I got the car fixed just a couple weeks ago and today the car didnt start again - which was happening intermittently in the first place. He then said it could be anything, which is when he started to escalate. He wanted to just throw a dart in the air and have me bring the vehicle back in for more service, but not go over the inspection sheet from just a couple weeks back to troubleshoot on what else could be going on. Meaning - they were likely throwing a dart in the first place with the starter, and unfortunately, I do not have the time or willingness to throw money at them to troubleshoot. I need them to be the professionals and determine exactly what the issue is and fix just that.

Was not honest with me. Charged me an extra 100$, which was way more than the price originally discussed.Terrible service and very unprofessional.

I had heard of Honest-1 from my neighbor who had gone in for an oil change and they found four serious issues, which they presented to him & installed for him at an extremely fair cost. Then when he told them he was told he needed to have his rotors changed out, they checked it out & said they were good & didnt need replacing. At that point I knew the word honest wasnt just a word to bring people in ...it was a description of how they operated that business.I discovered that I had been swindled when I bought a car on Marketplace. My frame was rotted out & they covered it along with broken parts with black plastic ...zip-stripped it over the problem areas.Honest-1 thought they might be able to fix it & spent hours inspecting & tearing it down until they discovered they couldnt. They then put it all back together and didnt charge me a cent, instead apologizing for not being able to help me out.Honesty is a great asset as a individual & even a greater one as a business.In the world we live in today full of scammers ... Wonderful staff, they actually listened to me when I told them what was going on, and didn’t undermine me when I told them I was unsure if it was the starter or something beyond that. I love that they communicate via text it’s so helpful esp with my two jobs.

I’ve been to honest 1 for everything from oil changes($), to brake service, to suspension and door actuator replacement($$$). Have always felt well taken care of both in terms of timely service and transparency. Never felt pressured to get more work done than necessary and they even called to double check parts and service before high dollar repairs took place. I recommend them, especially if you live in the neighborhood as the location is great.

I have been going to Honest-1 on Lyndale for years as it is close to my office.They do great work and I know my car will be ready at or before the time they predicted. I have never had to wait more than a couple days for an appointment. Marc always very friendly and professional. He does a great job keeping me updated with progress, costs and the occasional unexpected issue that I did not know about.

Marc was very personable and friendly and was willing to squeeze me in his busy Saturday schedule to get a used car inspection when I was purchasing a vehicle from a private seller. Very satisfied with quick and quality service!

Came in for an oil change. Was treated decently. However, I also wanted an issue with the remote start looked at. After the oil change, I chatted with the mechanic for a bit, and while he had tested the battery, he had no idea I was concerned about the remote start. He said if hed known, he would have run a diagnostic for free. Im disappointed about the lack of communication, as I could possibly have this long-standing issue sorted. Now Ill have to pursue a solution elsewhere.

Any time i have issues with a vehicle i go to this honest one location. the people are really nice and i’ve always felt i was treated very well. i drove a real beater for a while and they were always honest about all the things wrong with it but were considerate when making repairs so that i was safe on the road but not breaking my budget.

About as honest as a politician. Went in to fix one noise and came out with a worse noise and a new one to boot. No wonder people steal their loaner cars.10/12/21 Follow up: Took my car to the dealer because the noises were getting worse and they discovered the brake dust shields were not put on correctly causing moans every time I stopped. Also the wheels and center caps were not put on correctly and were close to falling off. Huge safety concern!

I chose Honest-1 because of the good reviews and the fact that they took my call on a Saturday. I couldnt be more pleased with the service and professionalism. I had major water pump and cooling line problems, and the work was all done in one day. Mark explained everything to me and was patient with my questions. Friendly guy. Ill use them again.

They were very professional and got my battery switched out the same day. They also did a diagnostic on my car and sent me additional things that needed repair along with pictures in a text message. This went a long way in making me feel comfortable as everyone has that story of putting their car in the shop and having them tell you you need a million things done but it’s completely different when they show you pictures so you can see what they see. I would highly recommend honest-1 to anyone in need of trustworthy, quick and reasonably priced service on their vehicles.

Honest1 was the best experience I’ve ever had with a mechanic shop. They diagnosed the issue with my A/C so quickly and had it fixed THAT day. Moreover, their prices are fair. I recommend Honest1 with all my heart.

Ive gone to them a few times on short notice and every time they were able to give me my car back on the same day! The staff is really great at explaining the work that needs doing and the front desk has always been so friendly. The location is great because there’s so much to do in walking distance so filling up a few hours is easy. They’re also really close to a bus stop so getting home without a car is easy too!

This is the only place where I take my truck to and they do awesome work. Mark, who runs the joint, is cool as a fan and very knowledgable. I dig the other mechanics too. Highly recommend this place!

I was very disappointed as I had a coupon for a free AC inspection and then the next day it was $262.00. I was never contacted that there was any additional changes added to my free AC inspection. I was very upset and only got a partial discount. I paid it because I needed my car. I have done business with Honest One previously however going forward I will not nor will I recommend this Auto repair shop. With these financial hard times and having to pay for something that was led to believe as free AC inspection was so misleading. The money I spent to get my car out was for grocery shopping and a another bill.

I needed new tires for my Dodge and Honest-1 Auto Care ordered my new tires and installed them within 12 hours (gave them my car just a few hours before closing). It was very convenient, as I was going out of town the next day. Tires are high quality and for a good price. Highly recommend. Staff was very friendly as well. Thanks Honest-1 Auto Care!

I love this place because of how upfront and honest they are about things. I took my old 2017 car to get an oil change there and they found no issues with it (most places try to sell me on something during an oil change). I just took my new 2013 car there for an oil change and they sent me a detailed list of things I needed to get done in a few months, but they were very upfront with the timeline and cost of things. They even included pictures of their report. Overall, Im incredibly thankful to have found an honest auto shop.

I live in Rochester. My car died up in Minneapolis. If we hadnt found this place, I hate to think what the cost of having my car towed to a business, looked at, & fixed (at least the basics I needed to get it back on the road quickly). I would recommend this place hands down, if anyone I know were to break down in Minneapolis.It would have cost me much more to have it towed to Rochester to have it looked at. The cost to get it running again would have probably been double what it cost there.I enjoyed the text sent to me telling me what was right with my car & what they found wrong, along with details in laymans terms.Also, a huge thanks for dealing with the towing when we came in to see what the possibilities were they could help us.It was a great experience. If I could rate higher than 5 stars I would. These guys aren’t crooks like you find most places. They actually tried to save me as much money as possible. I had a complicated issue that could potential cost a couple hundred dollars to diagnose at a different shop (I know that because I was quoted). Instead of taking apart everything like I was told was probably going to have to happen, they tested my battery and did a bunch of research. I gave them a hard time at first because they didn’t want to continue diagnostics until I put in a new battery. They said it would save me a bunch of money and they were right! The battery is what was causing the fault. They could have made hundreds off of me and they didn’t. I respect them a lot for that and I recommend them to anyone who wants an honest mechanic.

They did a great job checking out the steering in my car. Quick and friendly service. They send you a text with a link that goes into detail about what they did with your car.

So I called honest one at 6 when my car wouldn’t start on Presidents’ Day (when it was a polar vortex and everyone’s car battery died), they were the only company to answer, not even my dealership would pick up, and roadside told me that I would have to call back due to major delays. So I paid for a tow from Schmitt tow (company they use) and they said they would come the next morning at 8am get my car, bring it to honest, and honest would have it done by 12. Honestly I was skeptical, but they came on time, got my car, looked at it fixed all the issues and I had my car back by 3 pm. Although a little bit pricey it was worth the money to have my car back so fast. I appreciated the help and guidance because that was the first time my car had not started. I would recommend if your in a jam and need good fast service!

I was a customer with Honest One for years, and had a unprofessional experience with them and will now stop going there. I first left a review directly with them as a business, giving them a chance to respond and rectify, but as they never reached out to repair the situation, I’ve decided to leave some public reviews.Firstly, they didn’t start servicing my car until 45 minutes after my scheduled appointment. It was one of those below zero days (about a month ago or so), but I saw the people at the desk weren’t consistently wearing their masks in the waiting area, so decided to take a walk, as I wasn’t comfortable being in that shared breathing air space. If they had serviced my car when it was scheduled to be serviced, it wouldn’t be a big deal, as it was a fast repair they were making. But it was such a cold day and I had no where I was comfortable waiting. When I went in to check the status of my appointment, I was super disappointed they hadn’t even started working with my car. One employee had no mask in sight, and one pulled up his bandana upon me naming my discomfort with the lack of Covid safety precautions (mask wearing in shared indoor public spaces).If you are taking the safety of our community and Covid 19 seriously, don’t go here! It really highlighted the lack of integrity within their leadership, which is unfortunate. I am disappointed how this all unfolded - this is my first time leaving a public review for anything. I really liked going there in the past, but will now find a new mechanic because of their poor response and lack of reaching out to remedy the situation/ decide to make changes with their protocols to keep our community safe.

I liked the professinalism and fast service. The man at the desk was very friendly. I did not like the end pages of paperwork that did not explain the health of my car. Just the receptionist let me know how my car was doing. There was no explanation on the billing and sheets of paper that were given to me. It was supposed to be an assessment. Lisa Popp

Had some mysterious noises coming from two separate issues with my car. I’d previously brought my vehicle to another shop for one of the noises and they weren’t able to find and fix the issue. This shop did and fixed it very quickly! It didn’t cost me much either, which is a gigantic plus.Very affordable, kind, quick. Will definitely be coming back!

I always have SUCH a positive experience here. Andrew is ALWAYS so friendly despite always having a garage- and parking lot-full of cars to work on. It is incredibly refreshing to be able to trust the people who work here to do a great job, especially since I do not feel well-versed in car talk. Im continually impressed by the communication regarding timing of when I can expect to be able to pick up my car, and I always drive my car out of the parking lot feeling confident in the care my car received. HIGHLY recommend!

They’re fair and really good. Competent and transparent. They’ll work with you to figure out what maintenance should be done more promptly and what can wait if you’re on a tighter budget. They use tech well too with a system that sends texts and links to digital diagnostic reports with pictures from your visit. I’m sticking with them.

After no avail with another mechanic and out $300. I called H1. I was happy to know they did financing, which I really needed. I was in and out in the same day with the problem resolved. I had check engine light on my car and I brought it to the shop and I was told that my car needed $1700 in repairs because there were multiple fuel injectors failing and there was a part that was on a technical bulletin from the manufacturer and HAD to be replaced. I pressed for a clear answer on if it could be replaced and I asked for the bulletin number so I could research it and they would not give me a solid answer nor the bulletin number. I took the car back to the dealership that I bought it from and not only was the part not in a bulletin but it didnt NEED to be replaced and they tested it and its working fine. They only had to replace a single fuel injector. I will never bring my car to this shop ever again. Not even for an oil change.

Needed my front wheels balanced and called them up - they let me drop the car off and got it done that day for $20! And they give you a full report of your car - which areas are good and what needs repair immediately or in the next few months. Good dudes.

I’m sitting at like 3.7 stars out of 5. This is a franchise auto shop in uptown Minneapolis. I called with an issue I thought was brakes. It was a bearing and I got a $480 quote on it. For 1 bearing. It was overpriced but they got it in with no appointment. They also recommended other things that they felt had to be fixed but that’s all part of there training I’m guessing. They are trained to maximize profit at all times. Than again they could have said my brakes were bad too. So right there is a clear form of honesty. At the end of the day they provided quality service last minute and my truck is fixed. Definitely overpriced but not insanely overpriced. Would go back if I had to in an emergency situation. But only if it was an emergency.

This was my first visit to this location and I couldnt have asked for a better experience. Marc was very friendly, and my car was ready well before I would have expected it. Definitely recommend!

The outside driver door handle broke randomly on my car and Marc was extremely helpful in getting it fixed last minute in time for me to make it to work. I went in for oil change and rear brake replacement. I also provided where my wheel lock key was in my vehicle when I arrived. However, I noticed my car was rummaged through. I called the next day to voice my concern. That’s when the Service Advisor said the following: “The mechanic thought he misplaced your wheel lock key after completing his assignment.” The above was not explained to me prior to leaving the auto shop. I was extremely disappointed how this situation was handled. Also, the mechanic damaged my custom wheel bolt covers. The entire experience was handled in such unprofessional manner. Also, if the mechanic misplaced anything, he/she should ask the customer prior to rummaging through the vehicle. This type of experience creates mistrust between the customers and the auto shop. Please improve the privacy of your customers/customer service at your Minneapolis location.

Honest-1 Upyown very bad customer service especially the manager Mark, the guy is very rude and cant manage or solve one problem. i went to check my breaks, they said i need to change front wheels bearks and pads which they did and inpaid $506.44. when im left the shop i headed to I94 east while i was driving i heard the noise and i found out there ia problem. i come back next motning and i yold the problem Andrew told me they dont have time right now but he is gonna call me 3 or 4 pm, he didnt call me but i called them Manager Mark answered the phone and said with hursh and rude words to me while i was explaining what haooen, and he decided to hang up without giving me time to come and look the car. Mark and the team whoanage that branch doesnt deserved to be there. i dont recommended any one of the community to go that shop. they are unprofessionalism, fake honest name. very bad shop.

Very quick turnaround on oil change, but misleading coupons and pricing. What I thought was going to be a $26 oil change ended up being around $60.

Everyone was very friendly and nice. The work was done in a timely matter. My one qualm is that it was a bit pricey, $46 for a patched tire, but I suppose that’s the cost of doing business in Minneapolis. If I would have been able to drive my car out of the vicinity I would have went somewhere cheaper.

I loved this place. They were courteous and professional. They didn’t try to sell me things I didn’t need. I was in for replacement of a brake light and I was in and out in less than 45 minutes. They are truly amazing. I really don’t know a thing about tires and they solved my problem. The tires needed air and they did not charge me for that even though I asked them to do it. Such honesty is hard to find.
