What a cute aclectic spot! The staff was very sweet. Tonnnns of drink options (tea, coffee, etc.)We sat outside which was fun to people watch. The asiago bagel was delicious and toasted to perfection. The side of potatoes were perfectly cooked and seasoned no condiments needed.Would highly recommend and wed go back!!
Nice spot to grab a cup of Joseph on Brady. Good food every time Ive eaten there too. Apparently there are vegan options, but I usually go for meat in my food. Not that there is anything wrong with being a vegan...Ill eat vegan veggies with my meat all day. In fact, I think many vegan items compliment meat very well. For example the BLT. Its pretty much all vegan stuff in it besides the bacon and mayo and maybe the bread. I think its fair to say Im partially vegan since almost all of my meals have some vegan items in them.
What a fabulous.cafe. Coffees are fantastic. Staff is friendly and very fast to make your beverage. The place feels good, tastes perfect and eclectic furnishings and decor fill every cook and cranny.
The food and drinks were great. Music was a little intense for 7:30 in the morning. Love the Moon on the wall.
Great menu selection! Went for coffee and breakfast and sat outside with our dog! Loved it!
Comfy spot to hang, nice menu. Only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is because 2 times Ive come when google said theyd be open and they werent. Minor issue, but worth noting. Come here all the time.
Great breakfast sandwich and coffee. Cute little cafe, I’ll be back for takeout coffee soon.
Went in for coffee. Luke warm at best. Service was the same. A hello, a smile and eye contact wouldve improved this rating.🤔🤔
They are always amazing. Such good food with options for all diets. They have good covid policies and all staff wore masks correctly the entire time I was there. The perfect location to study or visit with friends!
Great... Very cozy coffee ☕☕☕ shop...😇👍
Sad to see them close down! :(Last day is Sunday.
Super sweet and friendly staff, really cool atmosphere and good coffee:)
I stopped in while waiting on a friend. I am from out of town and just happened upon it. I ordered an iced green tea and a cornbread strawberry muffin. The tea was super tasty and the muffin was unique. The young woman behind the counter was very friendly, patient, and helpful. I utilized one of their outside tables until my friend called. All in all it was a very pleasant experience.
Best cake here! Also the workers are amazing and I have to come back every week.
Love this place. Been going there for 25 years. Great food, great coffee, and great atmosphere.
Great place to get a quick bite and relax
Quirky, eccentric, and a cozy little spot to grab a hipster coffee and delicious, homemade desserts. This place is great for a hang out with friends. Really awesome staff.
Friendly staff, great coffee!
Great little Cafe with lots of great food and beautiful artwork
Very friendly and reasonably priced.
My husband and I came here a lot when we lived on the east side. Best coffee in the area and great food with vegan options, which I love. Good place to read. Cool astetic and art.
Awesome coffee great atmosphere! Much love for the local coffee shop
A lower east side staple! Great beverages, great food. Staff is amazing...very friendly. Fabulous, eclectic, & relaxed atmosphere.
Great little spot for coffee and surprisingly good food with options for vegetarians and vegans.
I LOVE this place. And, to be honest, Im a tough critic. (dont believe me? read some of my reviews). The atmosphere relaxing, the food tasty, and the service decent. Its a great place to get your study on. And its usually not even close to packed.
I have been coming to this establishment for over 4 years now off and on, and always felt welcomed. The Banhi Mi is my favorite sandwich and one the best I have had in the city as well as the zucchini bread!! Always a relaxed and welcoming crew. If you want a chill environment, different from the majority of Brady St, go here!!
The coffee is delicious and the vanilla ginger muffin was a fantastic addition. The guy who made our drinks knows how to do his job well. The customer service was fine, in my opinion.. Just dont go in expecting Chick fil a, over the top exuberance. But really, if you want a cute cafe, delicious coffee, and tasty food choices, this is your place. I seriously suggest trying the Honeybee ❤
Nice ambience and food.
Adorable place. Food was great. Very friendly staff, so nice to sit within the art and look around as you eat/ wait for your food. Love all the furniture and how it is mismatched. Wish we lived closer!
Wonderful coffee and really good breakfast food! Lucky me, I got there right before the breakfast rush. :) Breakfast sandwich on bagel was sooo delicious. Also, I really love the aesthetic of the place. Barista was super nice! Too bad the reviews were brigaded with randos leaving one stars.
My favorite coffee shop in Milwaukee! The setting and atmosphere are inspired, and the employees are always super friendly. They serve Anodyne coffee (my favorite!) and their food is also very good. The salsa is delicious, their quiches are great, but my favorite is the banana walnut waffle! Great outdoor seating in the Summer!
This is a great neighborhood spot. The food is fantastic. My favorite is the breakfast burrito or their seasonal salad. The coffee is good and the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. The service is warm and friendly.
Awesome place and one of the first places I visited in Milwaukee. Coffee is good, and its a great place to study/read
Great atmosphere, friendly service, limited but adequate menu. Coffee and drinks were excellent. Pleasant experience which will be repeated often especially now that I live just a few blocks away.
I love patronizing local business, but typically get my workday coffee at Starbucks, partially for convenience, and partially because the employees there have become friendly acquaintances and have fantastic customer service. I drive by Brewed Cafe on my way to work, and today I decided to to stop, hoping that I could get a coconut latte (a flavor you cant get at Starbucks/ other corporate owned cafes). I walked in, waited briefly, then asked the fellow at the counter if they have a list of syrup flavors. I was rather brusquely told no, and asked what flavor I was looking for. I ordered a 16 oz. coconut latte and gave the employee a twenty, then dug around for some change. He already had the till open when I offered some change, asking if I could give it to him and apologizing if it would throw him off. I can do basic math. It wont throw me off, was the rude retort I received. Since he clearly felt condescended to, I apologized, saying that it would have thrown me off. No response to that. I waited for my beverage, and upon picking it up was fairly certain it was not the size I ordered, so I asked the Barista, is this a 16 oz? I thought you ordered a 12 oz she replied, then huffily turned around, as though this was somehow my fault, and made the drink I ordered. Shockingly, she actually wished me a good day as she handed me the new drink, not that it was particularly sincere. I honestly felt leaving quite bothered by the experience, and disappointed to be starting my day in this manner. I know that everyone has bad days, and I do want to be understanding of that, but dang, it took every ounce of decency in me to leave a tip.Unfortunately, this experience has solidified my patronage of my neighborhood Starbucks, where at least 50% of my reason for going is the excellent customer service and the smile I have as I walk out the door with my coffee. Who cares if they dont have coconut syrup?
Ive been coming to this establishment for close to twenty years. I have noticed in the last 6 months the service on weekend mornings has been awful, disrespectful, and rude. The people in the kitchen have begun to get progressively worse attitudes messing up my order several times and expressing no concern about it. This customer of 20 years will not be returning. As I told my friends that Ive spoke with this about it appears that Brew Cafe is on a downward slide of service and quality. Oh well it was nice while it lasted🙂
Great coffee shop with a homey vibe. Very eclectic/mismatched decor. Much more comfy feeling than many chain cafes. Good food and pastries as well, including vegan options.
Love their soups. Good coffee. Friendly staff. Great place to stop and relax.
Friendly staff and good coffee.
One of my favorite spots in the city- not only do they have great coffee, but they have excellent food too! Theyre extremely vegan friendly (which doesnt affect me but there arent many vegan friendly restaurants in Milwaukee!) If I have a day off- I find a table and settle in to do work, or read a book. If they have the special Thai Iced Coffee- do yourself a favor and order it!
Excellent coffee! Loved it so much, I bought their beans from Peru. This place is a little out of the way if you are walking downtown but its great:
Today was just not a good experience for me. My boyfriend and I got there five minutes after they opened and the employees were on a smoke break. One of the employees was so upset she threw her cigarette and then inside threw a chair. One coffee was overly sweet I didn’t want to drink it anymore and the other we couldn’t taste the flavor at all. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED!
A unique ambience, very homely. But food and coffee was good.
Good cup of coffee
There are many coffee shops within walking distance of my home, but I go out of my way for this cozy, homey and eclectic place. Must have some of the homemade bakery!
I love the cookies, and the naked waffle. I am not a vegan or gluten free person, but the selection for those things are fairly large. Its a nice local spot on Brady, and has great staff with a good service record.
Enjoyed the atmosphere, the drink wasnt as hot as I would have expected, nice people, enjoyable time. Peace.
Great staff, great drinks, great food, great times! Only been here a handful of times, but every time Ive gone in the staff is incredibly helpful and friendly! Never been disappointed.
Fantastic food, great coffee, wonderful atmosphere! All of the employees were friendly, helpful, and extremely welcoming. It seems that reviewers who report a deeply unpleasant experience did not visit the same cafe that I did, as all of the folks at Brewed were lovely and affirming, and I felt very comfortable there as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community.
My favorite cafe! It is so relaxing to hang out in, the atmosphere is eclectic and authentic. Limited menu but has good drink selections of all categories.
Great coffee, have been a regular for years. good selection on the menu as well. Can be a good spot to study, work, or get brunch. Staff are very friendly, but can get overwhelmed when it gets busy (it happens!). Just ignore the spree of 1 star reviews within the last week from someone who obviously instigated something.
Food was great, 13$ for a grilled cheese 2 rice crispies, and side chips and salsa. Little pricey but good food.
Very nice place! Theres service was incredibly pleaseant and the food and drinks were delicious.I really enjoyed all of the art and eclectic things on the walls.
Absolutely adore this coffee shop. I have going to Brewed Cafe for a few years and have never been let down. Love the local art on display too!
Nice place.
Brewed is a one of a kind spot that will serve you up the best tasting cup of coffee youve had in many a days. From the friendly, dependable and talented employees to the refreshingly playful food menu to the inspired interior design to the local sitting at the table next to you all add up to a definitely creative atmosphere unique to Brewed. And for local artists and anyone looking to acquire a wonderful piece of Milwaukees art scene, Breweds owner has a collaborative appetite to work with artists who wish to expose their art to the ever present flow of customers -- some of which come with an eye for a piece of art or some who become inspired to add a piece of art to their transaction. Ive worked with Sheila, who owns Brewed and shes always been very encouraging and provides the opportunity to share in Breweds iconic and inspiring atmosphere.Just ask for her and perhaps you can be a part of the Brewed experience.
Fantastic coffee and food.Nice people.Discount if paid in cash!
Meh.
Looks like Brewed upset the wrong people a while back and was a victim of brigading. A bunch of 1 star reviews all coming at the same time calling everyone left wing terrorists? Seems legit. Honestly this place is very welcoming. Good coffee, good pastries, friendly people.
I have been going to brewed for years! I love the environment, it is aesthetically pleasing, and has a great balance of a great place to get work down or strike up a conversation and find community. The people that work their are sooo welcoming!! It breaks my heart to see people take the time to write fake reviews about this place....? I am not directly friends with the people who work their but because of living and working around the east side the people of brewed are friendly acquaintances who make an effort to remember me. Amazing coffee, amazing espresso, and yes their bakery items and their veggie chili are all super delicious!!!
Tasty beverages at a reasonable price. Especially great in the summer with their patio seating. Only drawback is that both inside and out, the seating can be limited and cramped. Otherwise a great place!
I popped in to look at the art and grab some coffee. Really good coffee and even better art. Their poetry books for sale are definitely worth checking out.
Cozy reasonable place. I also find the reviews here venting about liberal propaganda not belonging in a business. Its the free market people!! And theyre still open. Sooo..
I love the local art and poetry books, the look, the feel, the food, the coffee... Super comfy and homelike. Great place to sketch or read
I was in town visiting friends, and Brewed was at the end of the block where my Airbnb was. Lucky for me! I flew in on a bitterly blustery Friday night and Brewed was a toasty warm oasis -- with awesome vegan baked goods. Hot coffee, a friendly barista, and chocolate cake did a lot to lift my mood.I noted on that first visit that they did all-day breakfast and their menu board was full of vegan options. So I came back on Sunday morning for breakfast. Everything was quick, hot, well prepared, and tasty. And the staff was still super friendly.Excellent quality drip coffee, too!
Going to this coffee shop was alright. Sitting down the environment was perfect. I started looking around and ad noticed they have a lot of left wing remarks posted around the store. Being a white male I felt attacked instantly. So I left and will never be back.
Great selection of food and drinks including Wisconsin beers and mimosas. Mostly vegan/vegetarian options, but even the biggest carnivore can get behind the taste and quality. Sad ti say the man working the register seemed pretty miserable and I wanted to order and get away from the counter as soon as possible.
The employees rule and the coffee is delicious. If youre from MKE or from out of town, its a great place to stop and you should! Love love love brewed.
Great place for coffee and food here. Plus with the occasional like music they have over here. Highly recommended!
A fixture of the East Side. Great coffee and breakfast all day. I liked the breakfast burrito.
Wonderful food and very pleasant staff
Awesome little coffee shop on Brady St. Has plenty of food options, free WiFi, and very comfortable ambience. Highly recommend (I went every morning during my 3-day visit to Milwaukee).
Poor service. The whole crew was very snobbish. Somehow in their mind making coffee for you makes them morally better than you, and they want you to know it. And the coffee wasnt that good, either. The woodwork was nice though.
One of my favorite coffee/tea/breakfast places in town. They have a midnight ham sandwich with their homemade pickles that actually changed my life.
Went to the Brewed Cafe on a Saturday morning with my cousin around 9:15 am, and there were appox. 8-9 people sitting down in the cafe. There was no one at the order counter so we were able to walk right up to look at the wall menu. While looking over the menu, the two workers who were behind the counter did not greet us or even acknowledge that we were there, and basically ignored us. We felt so unwelcomed to the point that we just left. I have no intentions on returning and would not suggest or recommend going there due to the poor reception/customer service that we received .
We love that we can eat delicious food while looking at amazing art
Great place to get some breakfast food or do some work. Theres music playing in the front, but the back rooms around the corner are pretty quiet. The scramble I got was delicious with the right amount of weight without making me feel bloated or greasy- my friends quiche was the same. Latte is smooth and silky- the mint tea is refreshing. A great vegetarian/vegan friendly find in the city of Milwaukee.Saw some posts critical of the inclusive political stance that this cafe has. Most critics complained about the snowflakes here while they ironically were unable to tolerate a point of view different from their own. Everyone here has been respectful and quiet, would definitely recommend to anyone who can do the same.
Super cozy atmosphere, reasonable prices, and friendly staff. I cant recommend this place enough.
The floors and tables were dirty, and they made a mistake, while taking my order. My coffee was prepared wrong, and they refused to correct the mistake. It was horrible service and there is just no reason for it. I will not be back here, and I advise others to go somewhere else as well. There are much better places to get coffee, with MUCH better customer service.
Love the local coffee shop. Good vegetarian heavy menu. Love the breakfast burrito.
I stopped in to get out of the rain. I stood at the counter for over 5 minutes and no one came out to help. I left never to return. I would have given zero stars if that was an option.
Love our little Cafe on Brady. Good Coffee/Espresso drinks and some yummy eats. The Bacon&Cheddar quiche is delicious. The hot cheese, tomato, onion open face sandwich is amazing. Made from scratch bakery items too. Wi-fi and an inviting atmosphere to chill in. *Support local Brady*
Friendly staff and yummy coffee. My favorite is the Honey Bee.
Eclectic place serving breakfast and sandwiches, which showcases local artists. Check it out and buy some art!
Quality inexpensive coffee from local business. Outside seating is nice to relax and take in the street scene
Great hot sauce! 🔥🔥🔥
The place literally STINKS, I couldnt stand it.. I even looked for a spot that would be cleaner, no luck.. Avoid it like the plague if you like clean places..
It took them awhile to make my sandwich, however, it was extremely tasty and I was talking with the guys over lunch so I didnt notice it too much.
Excellent burrito 🌯 great service it was out first time I will come back.
When arriving to the counter I gave a bright Hello! and was ignored. The two baristas were conversing as one was divvying up the tips. They did not acknowledge my presence until AFTER they were done and the one splitting the tips left.I totally understand if you dont want to start an order until the money is off the table, but ignoring me and continuing a conversation complaining about the job and the other employees who work there... very awkward. It seemed like a very cool environment, but it was one with no open hands or manners.
Great employee, amazing tea it’s such a cute cafe and the atmosphere you can tell is so relaxing
Great food and atmosphere. Love the vegan options.
This place is a home for radical leftist extremists (domestic terrorists).Stay away if you care for your well-being. There is zero tolerance there.Stay safe.
