I absolutely love this Coffee Shop!! Im from out of town and needed a good place to do some work during the day. Higher Grounds has lighting fast wifi I was able to do my Zoom calls with no issues. The Atmosphere is very friendly with beautiful art on the walls and cool qurios. I like a good dirty chai latte and they definitely deliver on quality brew! Highly recommend making a stop here for some good coffee and better people.

I really waned to love this place and make it my new local coffee shop but unfortunately thats not the case. A colleague and I had work to catch-up on and we went to a private section for work in the back and an employee offered us a large room that appeared to be for worship purposes. She expressed that they shop owner leaves it open and enjoys when the public is in there. A few moments later the owner gives us a lecture and made us feel very uncomfortable for doing something an employee suggested we do. He continued slam door and pickup coffee we werent finished with. We told him an employee offered us the area to work and he continued to lecture us like children. I truly wanted to love this place so our experience is very unfortunate.

Best coffee in town! I love the Nutty Irishman. This is also a great place to meet friends or for business. They also have a private room you can book for small meetings.

This place is great! Probably driven by a dozen times and never realized it was there until I googled coffee shops. It’s not the fastest place in the world, but it’s worth the wait for a good quality cup of coffee or tea. The food is also great if you’re looking for a light lunch. The atmosphere is great for just relaxing and reading a nice book. Definitely coming back.

The taste of the coffee is not consistent. I love that they offer fast service compared to other places. Nice place to hang out with friends

Higher Grounds has great atmosphere all around. I can say with as much espresso as I drink and all locations I frequent, Higher Grounds is in the top 3 of my favorites. I worked with the manager, Ashley, at a coffee shop in my previous job, and I have to say now that shes taken over management here shes doing a splendid job. The decor is urban, sleek, intricate and comfortable. All the baristas who have helped me are polite and seem to really enjoy their job. They have live events posted on social media so be sure to check out the dates and the local entertainment. They also host local artists works which almost make it seem like a pop up gallery. There is also 2 private study rooms which you can reserve if youve got any studying or whatever social gathering you may need a space for. I highly recommend Higher Grounds to an coffee enthusiasts or anyone looking for a great little hangout.

We waited 30 minutes to get our order while other orders were being called. It was our first time there and I don’t know if time is an issue with getting orders out fast. We also were the only Hispanics in there and I hope that wasn’t an issue. Just bad experience and will not come again.

The BEST coffee shop in Midland! This is our all time favorite place to get together for good conversations and even better coffee and treats. Its also a great place to have a quiet read and relax with a hot tea. The owner is such an amazing guy and makes us feel so welcome! Thats not something you get at Starbucks or other coffee shops. Wow! I found this place on a whim, and I am throughly impressed. This coffee shop is amazing, the ambiance of this place is incredible, it’s so inviting and cozy, and the coffee and the strawberry rhubarb muffin I had... I have no words, it was all SO delicious and made to perfection. The staff here are so incredibly welcoming and sweet, you have to try this place out!

Passing through and decided to stop here for breakfast. Got a vanilla latte and berry banana oatmeal. Both were good. The man who took my order was friendly and funny. Love the atmosphere. I wish there had been music instead of talk radio that I couldn’t really hear and while the seating was comfortable and plentiful the outlets were in short supply. Overall, I liked it and would likely stop here again if passing through.

I’m really excited about this little place! I live in Austin but when I come to visit family here in Midland, I’m always looking for a place to roam off to for some personal time. There’s plenty of seating here in varied seating arrangements for different sized groups. There are plugs for your laptop or phone. The decor is modern and comfortable. The location is also a 5 minute walk from my mom’s house so it’s perfect :)

I love the atmosphere, the furnishings and the art! Best coffee shop in Midland as far as that goes. Also really like the espresso. It has a unique flavor to it that is different than anything else I have tasted. Its milder than Starbucks and actually has a good flavor. The only reason for less than 5 stars is that Im not impressed with the breakfast food offerings. The scramble in a mug tasted like microwaved eggs and the banana berry oatmeal had so much sugar I couldnt eat it. If they could work on their food offerings a bit I could whole - heartily give this place 5 stars. If you dont care about food but want good coffee and great atmosphere, give this place a try!

The atmosphere is fantastic. The owners/employees are friendly and engaged. The coffee they brew you can only get one place in the entire world, at Higher Grounds. The producer of the coffee that they brew is also a man who goes to great lengths to provide an equitable work environment by paying his employees a fair wage. Its worth a visit!

Three stars for the ambience and friendly baristas. Had their cafe latte once and got an upset stomach- had to dock stars for that. Perhaps they need to check the expiration date of their products.Their muffins, and walnut-zucchini bread is worth a try.Nestled in the corner of one of the most drab neighborhoods in Midland - it’s an oasis.

Everyone there was great! The store is nice and the coffee and food were good. No pomp, just down to earth food. I enjoyed a good meal in there and sat to catch up on emails. No problems, no one was staring at me to leave or asking is they could take my plates. So it was good

Absolutely one of the best places in Midland. Food is amazing and fresh. Coffee is wonderful and there is so much variety. The place is always clean and the atmosphere is so relaxing with great music! The Berry Oatmeal is one of my favorites as well as the Nutty Irishman coffee. We will be going here for a long time to come.

This is my go to for getting work done in the afternoon. The coffee is made well, and they have ceramic mugs to choose from if like me, you prefer to avoid single use cups. They also have $5 bottomless drip coffee if you plan to be there awhile. The service is friendly and the space is clean, bright, and quiet. Keep your dollars local and support this little shop.

Great Christian coffee shop & cafe. Some coffees roasted locally & some coffee sold helps support Christian missionary work. Excellent espresso (slightly sweet & nutty/woody), calm ambiance, friendly staff. Really cool decor.

Its clear this is a locally run business. I also love that it feels casual and not stuffy. They also serve food, but I havent gotten to try their grub yet!

This place has a very chill/relaxing atmosphere, the hostess whom had greeted me was soft spoken and nice. I totes would probably want to have coffee here with a friend. There were only three other patrons here at the shop when I arrived roughly 20 minutes before 9:00. I find the layout appealing and the audio was played of a radio at a very reasonable level playing a religious radio station. I can most understand it since the nomenclature of the this establishment was chosen. I’d like to revisit again given the opportunity in the future with the hectic business of my current schedule.

If you even need prayer or someone to talk about problems in your life their is usually someone that will sit with you and help you out. Great parking also for a large group to come and enjoy. I’m new to Midland (from Dayton, Ohio), and while I’m getting settled in and looking for an office to rent, it’s was important to find a local coffee shop where I could work from and meet new people...I hit the jackpot with Higher Grounds Coffee Shop! Not only do they serve great coffee and food, but the space is nicely designed with more than enough room. Lots of extra parking on the side. I didnt order any food but the people I was with did and it looked great. Will definitely go back.

My absolute favorite coffee place to visit when in Midland. Have tried their drip coffee, cappucino and cold brew. I have always been happy with their creations. The place has a nice industrial-steampunk feel to it and has a nice ambiance too. Keep it up guys !

This place is fantastic. Stopped by town for several hours and thought while in transit I might try this coffee place. Got the nutty Irishmen and it was so natural tasting, the cream, if u get iced, is much better than any Starbucks or dunkin junk. I don’t know what they put in their turkey club sandwiches but the best I’ve ever had in my life. Super fresh. Beautiful atmosphere. Very relaxing. Only hinder I can think of is the lack of outlets to charge your devices to work. They do have them just not as much as I would hope but overall fantastic experience. Super kind, quiet, and artistically urban

Higher Grounds is quickly becoming one of our favorite places to spend time on the weekends. The atmosphere is relaxed and cozy and very conducive to working on a laptop for a few hours. The staff is always so friendly, and the owner Robert has even gotten to know us by name in the last few visits. The lunch sandwiches are excellent and the coffee is definitely worth stopping by for!

The decor is pretty awesome. Very modern and urban look. Coffee is delicious. I got the praline latte and it was very smooth with just the right amount of sweetness. Staff is very informative and nice. Definitely will stop by again.

I had heard good things and it looks cool inside, but has horrible service. (At 9am with only a couple customers) First the iced drink came out hot, no big deal, remake that, then waited 30 min for a sandwhich, which turns out they never started making, and they just proceed to try to retake my order, and tell me not to be rude when I ask for a refund instead.

Really a wonderful space cranking out some stellar coffee. In town for a work trip, but in need of some real coffee and this place fit the bill. Overheard some fellowship taking place and the good word being shared. Good vibes, great coffee!

I absolutely love this place! I found them because of uber eats with all the craziness happening right now. I love their vanilla chai latte, it is so much better than Starbucks! My husband had a caramel macchiato and loved it! They have delicious muffins and so many other goodies to choose from! They are doing pick up orders and you can also use uber eats to get it delivered to your house. The staff are all super friendly and I would recommend them to anyone! The owner, Robert is very nice and I got to chat with him for a bit while waiting for my order. The inside is really nice, too. Keep them in business and go try it! Theyre open until 2pm

The drip coffee was served cold and tasted like it had been on a burner all day. Between the religious overtones and Costco muffins, it seemed like the owner would’ve been better off running a bible study potluck- and hopefully someone else brought the coffee.

Very clean, delicious drinks and food! Had a delicious BLT. The cute lil deli plate my friend got her toddler was so pretty. When the toddler spilled her hot chocolate everywhere they didnt freak out. Came acme helped us clean it right up, where very kind and even gave her a new chocolate

The coffee is great if you don’t mind the leangthy wait and only coffee. Atmosphere is a little stiff compared to a competitors location on the north side and I could become a regular if they had a wider breakfast variety. $7.50 a plate for thin soggy microwave bacon dry toast and bland eggs is wild. My husband was not thrilled. Especially if you are picking up your own order and returning it when you are done to a bar area.

Didnt have cold filtered water so they put ice in a cup and poured boiling water over it. I dont know why a coffee shop wouldnt have cold filtered water... I like the way this place is set up -- tons of tables and couches, $5 bottomless cup of house coffee on the menu, and plenty of real cups rather than paper if thats what you prefer. Another huge plus is the clean and bright environment.

The atmosphere was great they were playing we good Christian jams. The mango smoothie is good but sadly the food made me sick to my stomach. The people were super kind though.

I visit a TON of coffee shops because of the freelance work I do. I can wholeheartedly say that I prefer Higher Grounds over every other shop in Midland. Their decor and layout creates an amazingly comfortable while still professional environment. They also have two private meeting rooms that are regularly available. The staff is knowledgeable, polite and prompt. And most importantly the coffee, drinks and food are top notch. Definitely recommend Higher Grounds for relaxation, business, just a cup of joe, and everything in between!

Decent espresso. Not exactly my favorite flavor, wish if gone with their $5 endless drip coffee option. The shop has a great, modern feel with lots of seating, a special bar and chairs for children to sit at, and free WiFi. There are places along the walls next to outlets.
