Friendly and knowledgeable. These guys are pros and their work shows it. I was lucky enough that they were able to do a difficult job quickly so it didn’t cost what it could have. Thanks to their skill, replacing a wire harness was routine for them. Great work.

After years of going to various auto repair shops where theyd direct you towards buying unnecessary parts and then price gouging you. Glosters & Sons is the most honest and straightforward repair shop Ive been to since forever. I trust them with everything because theyre quick, do great work give you good pricing and most of all theyre honest.

Doesnt deserve 1 star. BEWARE that this company took advantage of my teen in a horrific accident yesterday-he was T-boned. 2:45pm Fri, police dispatched tow co. *during* business hrs. My son requested car be towed home *at the scene * *8mi from home*. He only gave keys with understanding it would be towed *home*. The owner refused to give him any prices for a tow at the site, then it took my 3 calls to them where they forced us to call insurance to inquire on different coverages when my son said wed pay outright at the scene. Asking who was at fault as if they’d charge him more even tho it was a no fault accident! They delayed us from getting a tow with calls during alleged un-posted business hrs so they could force us into weekend storage. *DESPITE ADVERTISING 24 HR TOW SERVICE*on card given to my kid & website! I had to complain to get car same day and they refused but relented for Sat tow home instead of originally advised=Tuesday!!!!!! after being yelled at by owners rude son. They charged me $497 for what should have just been a 8 mile tow!!!! They charged me $225 extra to go to their shop first when it was to come home! They demanded ‘cash only’ to get my car back when other options were present on receipt that was not disclosed prior to getting paid! Its disgraceful that theyd do this to a kid!!! Never provided him his consumer bill rights for the tow!

Hands down the best in Middletown NY. They have never failed me and always try to save me money going out of their way to give me rides to and from the garage as needed when my car is down. Have used them for all my cars. They explain the repair and also what is needed now and what can wait till I am ready.

I have been using Gloster for over ten years. Probably longer. His shop has always performed repairs on all of my vehicles - one car and two trucks. If something is either expensive or cost too much he always informed me before starting any work. When I ask him any quest ions he answers me honestly. He never gives me b-s answers. He may not be the lowest priced repair shop around but he always performed the work correctly. Never any tools left in the engine compartment, his shop is very clean and i never have to check his work for loose bolts or items that were supposed to have been replaced that weren’t. He’s honest which to me is priceless.

My whole family has been bringing their cars to this repair shop for over 20 years. They answer my questions with out making me feel like I dont know what Im talking about. They are efficient concerning the wait time. They have never done a bad job.They dont try to sell me on things I really dont need. The shop is clean and everyone is friendly. I trust this shop totally.

I was told by Toyota in Newburg that I need rear brake pads and rotors. I took my car to Gloster for an estimate. They checked and said that the brake pads and rotors were fine! They could have gone ahead and done the work even though the car didnt need it. The honesty goes a very long way with me. The hell with Toyota. I will be utilizing Gloster from now on.

I was shopping at a mall in Middletown, NY, when I came out, my car didnt start, I was recommended by another shopper @ the Galleria Mall to call Gloster & Sons Auto Service, I wasnt from the area so I didnt know any auto shops. They towed my car, replaced the alternator & within a couple hours I was on my way home. Very clean, professional outstanding service & cost to repair my car was very good. I dont often review but I had to post my experience, its hard to find an auto shop that goes out of their way & is honest. I was very lucky to find them not being from the area. I have an Infiniti G35 and needed new rear tires mounted. After calling around, no one but this place said they could mount my Low Pro 35 Series tires on my 19 wheels. They assured me that they are the only qualified shop in the area and that they perform installations on 22 and 23 wheels quite often. I dropped my wheels and tires off. When I returned, they were dinged, dented, and marred. My wheels cost $1000 per piece by the way. They refused to do anything about this. I was very calm and nice and was in no way demanding or unreasonable. I explained to them that they damaged my expensive property and are liable for it. Especially given the guarantee they provided over the phone and in person. Then some old guy, probably the owner, came out and began cursing at me in my face. He told me to get the fudge out of there and that I was crazy, that there was no damage. Something is very wrong with these people. Not Godly, not fair. Please do not support them by giving them your money or time.

Rented a UHaul that they did not want to give me (reserved days earlier) because they had a customer coming in for car repairs and they were going to let him use it while his car was being repaired. Not my problem...UHaul was called and told them to give me the truck. (after 40 min of listening to him complain)Wouldnt go there for repairs because of unprofessional attitude.

I completed my experience with Glosters recently, and the following is a summary of what happened:I needed a belt tensioner and serpentine belt installed onto my 13 BMW X3. Glosters charges significantly less per hour to perform work on vehicles, so I had my vehicle towed to them. What I didnt know is that they charge a significant markup on all of their parts, and WILL NOT allow customers to bring their own parts.In my particular situation, I had previously purchased the serpentine belt fitting my vehicle -exactly- from a nearby AutoZone, so they initially told me they would use it. Shortly afterward, however, they told me that the belt was too small, and I needed to pay for THEIR belt, which was almost triple the price I paid for the one from AutoZone. My options at that point were to either pay for their parts, or pay for the diagnostic and have my car towed elsewhere, then start over. My hands were tied, so I gave the go-ahead to perform the work.The belt tensioner itself ranges from $100-130 anywhere you look, but they charged $230+ for theirs and wouldnt allow me to bring the one I was able to find for $125. This, on top of the $50 for their belt. I brought the belt I bought at AutoZone back to AutoZone, and there was nothing wrong with it whatsoever.All in all, the work was completed; but when I went to pick up my car, the sound and feel of my car was WAY off, as if something else were wrong. The problem ended up being a disconnected hose stemming from the air intake, which Bill and Billy both maintain that either I, or the tow truck driver must have loosened, not considering that they performed the work in the area where the hose is and they could have possibly done it, even unintentionally. They also didnt bother to tell me that my car sounded the way it did upon start-up. I inquired, but ultimately was left to deal with it myself.From the beginning to end of this whole ordeal, the work that needed to be done was done.Pros:•The work was completed.•Though reluctantly, they worked with my warranty company.Cons:• Paid more than what I would have paid elsewhere,• Dealt with more frustration in having to debate with Bill and lil Bill about how warranty companies, money, business, and cars work,• Unable to determine sincerity of the guys here due to the shady disconnected airflow hose situation, items missing from my car, and overall condescending remarks and simply bad attitude from the owners.In my general experience, small or local businesses offer a warm and friendly aura which acts as an invitation for customers to return, but I did not get this or anything of the sort from these guys. I felt like they just saw me as a $ and wanted to shoo me away as soon as they could. When I asked questions, they gave me their shortest response and hung up on me or left the room. Highly unprofessional.Unless its by a stroke of sheer bad luck and I somehow get stranded here, I will NEVER return to this establishment as long as they continue their business this way.Best of luck to any and all current and potential customers.

My car broke down on the Interstate between middletown & Port Jervis. The help truck stopped & recommended a few shops in the area. With not being familiar with the area I was not sure how I was going to get my car towed, fixed & back on the road for a family reunion. I called Gloster & Sons, they were there in 15-20 mins, towed my car to their shop which was the cleanest I have seen ever, replaced my alternator in a timely fashion & was back on the road within a few hours. I was lucky to be picked up one of the best shops I have ever dealt with. I live in queens & I have a new repair shop to deal with. Excellent business & workers!!

This Company is a ripoff! Very unprofessional. Car was towed. I drove it off the road to get it off traffics way, parked it. Company picked up my car. When I called they told me car was totaled! Hello!! it was a cracked bumper guard broken (regular)headlights housing and a dented hood. How is this totaled? Well tell me when I went to pick up my car and paid the outrageous fees my cars tire rod was broken! They werent broken when he picked up! He got on the defensive and refused to discuss the situation. Blames me for it. Do not go to this place unless you like throwing money out the window. By the way his son refused to discuss this situation because my lunch is more important really? wow...

These guys towed my vehicle 2 nights ago they came out within 20 minutes and were very knowledgeable of the problem with my vehicle and got me to the shop and back on the road before I had time to call for a ride. I would have no problem with using there service again !!!
